Finally stopped by this Bellevue grille on a Friday evening around 6:30 and the dining room was packed. We opted for bar seating at the cozy four seater. You know you're in a locals watering hole when the bar-top poker machine takes up a seat at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and very efficient. They only have bottled/canned beers and a pretty well stocked liquor shelf with some wines. We ordered up a few ice cold brews and placed our food orders. We both got fish - one daily special New England style cod and one charred romaine salad with salmon. The cod entree came with two sides - I opted for a baked potato with butter/sour cream and a really fresh and delicious salad with Prima Donna restaurant Italian dressing. It made me wonder if the owner is related to the McKees Rocks pasta restaurant owners? I have to say the cod entree was pretty disappointing. It was borderline rubbery and that lovely crispy panko/butter crust became a soggy mess underneath a heap of raw tomatoes and red onions. It just wasn't savory or salted, at all. And I wasn't sure why they would ever put cold raw bruschetta toppings on it. I probably ordered the wrong thing. My wife's salmon and grilled romaine salad was good and she enjoyed it. We'll probably try it again for sandwiches and appetizer stuff because everyone was so nice there and we like neighborhood places. read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon. The waitress/bartender was very kind to us with good personality. I had the flame burger and it was good! My fiancé had the fried chicken club (not pictured) with a side of homemade fries. I tried his fries and they were hot and fresh. I had a side of coleslaw and only took one bite of it. It tasted weird like it may have been sitting.. my fiancé didn't notice anything off about it. My son enjoyed his pasta and he's quite the picky eater. I really enjoyed the prices for the amount of food you receive. It did start to get busier around 3pm as soon as we were getting ready to leave. A sweet place on a cute block in Bellevue. We popped in on a Wednesday and both had the special: NE style Cod- baked perfectly with fresh tomatoes etc on top! So good! I chose the side salad with balsamic vinaigrette and baked potato. Each hit the spot. He had Italian wedding soup and the beautiful broccoli. Enjoyed an Arnold Palmer, and he a nice cold bottle of Yuengling. The staff is excellent and friendly. We came around 5pm on a weekday and there were a few open tables. The service was great, but they were a bit understaffed. I had grilled pork chops, which came with a soup/salad. My pork chops were a bit chewy. My friend loved her Bellevue burger, which was a hamburger with bacon on it. Overall, it was a good experience. It felt like a community hub where neighbors meet. The prices were also very reasonable. Kids under 12 can eat for $4.99! I would have to come back and try their burgers next time. read more

I'm a huge fan! Our friend was playing live music here, so we had to check it out! Bar is downstairs, basement bars are always the best bars! The seating area was awesome, mixture of tables and booths. For a Saturday night there were a good bit of people here, and it's a very "local" place, as in.. everyone knows everyone. People were really cool, and welcoming. Everyone was playing along with the music, and having a great time. We went to order food but the kitchen had closed. Someone overheard my request and insisted we order food. I was happy, because I was as starving! So glad we tried their food because it was extremely good! Stuffed meatball, Brussel sprouts, and the spinach and artichoke dip (which was my favorite) I would love to come back here, but would make sure I came earlier so I could order more off of their menu. read more

After moving to Pittsburgh we were missing our old local dive bars & 565 provides that perfect homey atmosphere where you'll always know someone who's at the bar downstairs in their 565 Live Speakeasy. In addition to friendly bartenders & being able to meet neighbors, they also offer comedy nights, open mic nights with some talented local musicians, & lots of live music nights with bands too. I didn't realize until our last visit that they actually have craft cocktails too! My friend & I tried their Sweet Tarte & it was great. We usually come later so have only had food here once, but that one time did not disappoint. Their Crab Mac n Cheese was actually delicious! You never know what to expect, but it had real crab, a nice sauce, some spiced breadcrumbs, & it hit the spot. It came with a nice side salad as well. The owner is such a nice guy & always takes the time to say hello to everyone who stops in if he's there. We like supporting this great little spot in Bellevue. read more

Bellevue holds some hidden gems when it comes to eateries. I'm not talking about that strip of Ohio River Blvd that most people think of when they hear Bellevue, I'm talking about this stretch on Lincoln Ave that holds some great places to eat. Grille 565 just happens to be one of those places. When it comes to spontaneous food choices I'm not good at it, I'll usually double guess myself and end up somewhere else that I have already been too. I am glad that I went outside of my comfort zone a bit and ventured in here. When we arrived there wasn't very many people inside. It is a well lit area with ample seating. At the time we visited we were able to seat ourselves and we chose a table near the front windows. Gave us a view of the street while taking in everything they have inside. We were greeted, placed our drink order and looking at the menu in no time. They offer a wide array of meals to satisfy just about anyone that steps foot in their door. We started with their take on spinach artichoke dip. They use provolone cheese as the cheese which, I have to say, worked quite nicely. They also describe that this comes with enough pita triangles to share, they didn't lie on that one. This easily could have been a meal unto itself, but it is definitely great for sharing. I had been looking back and forth at a few items but ended up going with the TLBT or was it TBLT. Whatever it is listed as on the menu, it was what I wanted at that moment. This is your basic BLT with some turkey slapped in there. The bread was lightly toasted, just enough to hold everything on the inside. The lettuce was shredded which guaranteed you were going to get some in each bite. The tomato was just the rich thickness for a sandwich this size. The turkey tasted as if it was fresh cut for the sandwich. The only thing I would have changed about this was the bacon. Not the fact that bacon was on it, but I would have cooked the bacon just a little longer. It wasn't crispy enough for me for a BLT. My better half had a burger with bacon on it and he agrees with me on that one. Loved the fries! Fresh cut and thrown in the grease. Love a good fry that is just cut. You can't get anything better than that. Service was great and we were checked on regularly. The crowd here seems to be more of the community than any other place I have been to in the city. read more

Varied menu with VEGETARIAN options (yeah!) and a great menu that has something for everyone. Fairly priced and good wine. I got the Portabella and Fry Salad. My husband got the burger and egg. My friend and I went to Grille 565 the evening I got into Pittsburgh as it's good and close by to her place. We arrived around 6 and asked if we could sit outside. Aside from ourselves, there was one other couple outside. It wasn't too loud sitting outside until a friend of theirs walked by and began chatting with them quite loudly for a good ten or fifteen minutes. We each ordered the Chardonnay, which was quite refreshing after a day of driving. (Our waitress noticed a spot on one of the wine glasses and took it back to give us a new one, which I did appreciate.) We each got the salad with our meals, which let me tell you, was *really* good. The salad was so fresh that we continued to eat it once our meals arrived! We both got Mac and cheese - my friend had the crab Mac and cheese and I had the pork Mac and cheese, one of their specials that night. I loved my Mac and cheese and my friend enjoyed hers as well. My only complaint was that there was a fly that bothered us throughout the meal, but hey, it is outdoor dining! Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I'm glad we went. read more

Went again recently for dinner. I ordered the beer battered fish, cole slaw, and fries. The food tasted good, but they needed to drain the oil from the fish more. It was sitting in a pool of oil. Also, they should clean the bugs and spiderweb out of the window. It is really gross look over while eating, and see that. However, the waitress was very nice and attentive. And it was nice to get out during this pandemic. Just they have a couple things they need to button up on. read more

They have a good sized menu with a variety of reasonably priced food. I got the barbecue burger, it was delicious! The barbecue sauce had really good flavor, the burger was cooked exactly how I wanted (medium well), and the bacon was crispy. I got fries on the side and they were great as well. The service was also very good. When you walk in the sign says to seat yourself, it was a nice night so we told the waitress we wanted to sit outside and then went and grabbed a table. I was a little nervous service might be lacking because we were the only ones out there but I was pleasantly surprised! We had a few waitresses come out and check on us and they were all very nice. Such a small town restaurant. This place doesn't look like much on the outside but don't let that stop you from giving it a try. When you walk right in, you'll see a small dining area. The place isn't that big. They have a pretty basic menu but man the food is good and they give you big portions. Also the price can't be beat. They also have a separate cocktail menu. Give one a try. The martinis are strong and will only keep you wanting more. If you're in the mood for more than just a simple dining experience, walk towards the back and follow the stairs down to the speakeasy part, my favorite. They always have something cool going on Thursday thru Saturday. Definitely a great place to chill and have a good drink and meet your neighbors! Give this place a try! I ordered the lobster Mac (only "vegetarian" option really) & it was good but it was basically a pile of lobster on a tiny scoop of dry Mac & cheese. Kinda disappointing but I get the business perspective of "you're paying for crab, you get crab" which is great - just wish proportions were more thought out! Tried the two-month-old Grille 565 in Bellevue today. And, it was pretty good. Which is a relief - Bellevue needs a restaurant like this! 565 is basically a medium sized local American restaurant. Diner-esque food and prices. Lots of sandwiches, apps, a few salads, some vegetarian options, and different meats and potatoes. BYOB (Bellevue is a dry town). Fresh, not frozen, vegetables were a great surprise! The bread is Mancini's or a similar local fresh bakery offering. Hand-cut fries, which were awesome, as was the medium-low price of the meal. Great service too! It's a brand new joint, so I plan on updating my review when they are more established. I will say that there is a bit of work that needs done... ie. sprucing up of the bathroom (it didn't look dirty, but wasn't sparkling either), a light or fan was removed from the ceiling and wires were out in the open (not dangerous, but unsightly), and the blinds on the side of the room near the entrance to the kitchen need replaced with curtains or something. Basically, some cosmetic work needs to happen. Also, while we were dining, the door to the kitchen was wide open, and the tv's were all playing Sponge Bob. I saw the owner and what appeared to be his young daughter, who was watching the cartoon. I get it, but I'm personally not a fan of tv's in a restaurant. Overall though, with a bit of work and decorating, I can see this being a successful local restaurant. It's a great start! I wish this place luck. read more

My friend and I decided to eat here for the first time and we both ordered the sirloin dinner special. The sirloin was very tender and the vegetables were not overcooked. We were aware that Grille 565 is in the midst of getting their liquor license but we were not aware that BYOB is an option. They have a large chalkboard in the dining area announcing upcoming events. We noticed that a psychic night is planned in October but reservations are requested. My partner, kids, and my cousin and his wife met here for dinner. At 7:15pm the place was empty, which I don't ever feel is a good sign for a place that does dinner. We sat ourselves per the sign and were greeted quickly with a drink order taken. They have a small alcohol list with your basic beers and liquors, so I had a Heineken. For appetizers, my cousin and his wife got the nachos, and my partner and I got the stuffed banana peppers and mozzarella sticks. The nachos were home made tortilla chips covered in...pizza toppings. Pepperoni, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. It sounded interesting enough to try, but even as a pizza fan and big lover of nachos, this was a big miss. The chips themselves were good but the toppings were too mismatched with the base. My cousin and his wife liked them though. The sausage in the stuffed banana peppers was so spicy it wasn't enjoyable. The mozzarella sticks were good. For dinner, my kids got spaghetti and the kids chicken strip basket. My son barely touched his spaghetti, which is one of his favorite meals, but he ate all of the bread. I had the Parmesan crusted salmon, which was entirely flavorless, with a baked potato that was undercooked. The salad was fine. My partner had the ribeye; he ordered it medium rare, which it was, but he said it was the worst steak he'd ever eaten. No seasoning, not even salt, no flavor, just very not good. We've been here a couple times now, and the food is good. They have a good variety of bar food options. We got their stuffed pretzel appetizer and it was amazing. The most recent time, we brought our 1.5 year old with us, and our server was SO WONDERFUL to her. It was great, and I love feeling comfortable being able to bring our daughter out to dinner with us. The best thing about this place is that they have alcohol. They were the first place to get a liquor license when Bellevue voted to end their prohibition. It's great being able to walk somewhere to get dinner and a drink. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to check out their live entertainment, but I would love to do that at some point. read more
