Lincoln Avenue Brewery - raspberry charlotte and burnt almond torte

    Lincoln Avenue Brewery

A friend and I stopped into The Lincoln Avenue Brewery on a Wednesday evening for some beers and…read moredinner. I had been there several years ago with the same friend for a hangover curing breakfast of biscuits and Italian sausage gravy, and I remembered how good that was. This time I went to try their house beers, and I was again very happy. The Brewery is a cozy little place tucked in a side street, and the interior is worn but clean and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and efficient, but I should note that it wasn't very busy at the time. In any event, our excellent beers never ran dry, and when we were ready to eat the service was quick. We started with some pickle dip (yum!). My buddy then ordered the black and blue burger - one of his favorites. It's actually a triple patty deal with some hot sausage in the mix. It was messy as hell, but he really enjoyed it. I went with the Buffalo mac-n-cheese. It was very tasty and had a nice kick from the spicy Buffalo chicken. Overall it was a nice experience, and I'll definitely be back. One word of caution though: The Brewery is moving across the street into the old post office building. I'm not sure exactly when this is planned, but I hear it will be soon. The new building is being gutted and refit with everything needed, and will include an outdoor area that can accommodate live music. I'm really happy that they are doing well enough to grow, and can't wait to check out the new place when it opens.

I was looking forward to taking my husband to this brewery! Today was our very first visit. After…read morewalking in we noticed the "seat yourself" sign and took a table, but after sitting for about 10 minutes, no one acknowledged us or checked in. We saw several staff members during that time, which made it a bit confusing...we weren't sure if we were in the wrong section or if there was a different process we should have followed. Sadly, we did not have a chance to try anything. We ended up leaving without being served. I understand that things can get busy, but even a quick acknowledgment would have made a difference. Just sharing this in hopes it helps improve the experience for future customers.

The Fools - Breakfast Burger w/ Hash Browns

It took them over a year to renovate it and they still aren't done in the back and the parking lot is a little rutted but the inside is very nicely done. There is a huge bar and some high and low tables scattered throughout. The clientele is mostly locals and lot of laborers grabbing a drink and a bite to eat after working hard all day which was great to see. It's super casual and very open inside. We had a few beers and the bartender was good. She was attentive and was waiting on 20 folks at the bar as well as table drinks. The manager was able to help serve some food to help her out but never once asked us how everything was. That was a little bit of a missed opportunity in my opinion for a new business. We ordered a breakfast burger that came with some hashbrowns on the side. I assumed, which is my fault totally, that the burger would come with lettuce, tomato, etc. but it truly was JUST a burger, egg, and cheese and absolutely no other toppings. That was disappointing and I really wish the bartender would have asked if I wanted anything on it. I ended up using ketchup for moisture since she was so busy and I was hungry. :) The hashbrowns were frozen and fried so they were nothing special. I think this place has tremendous potential. We'll be back to try something else. It seems busy so that's a good sign.

What a really good surprise! A little neighborhood bar that was recently given a totally new…read morefacelift and looks super inside. Great sports watching venue, with wall to wall TV screens all over. Clean, shiny, and with some fun sports games too (i. e. golf video, darts, etc). The menu offers lots of ol local favorites and some with a nice twist (i. e. pulled pork sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, Chipped ham Sammy, etc). Had the Isleys chipped ham sandwich which they serve warm with melted cheddar, grilled onions on a bun. However, they were gracious enough to make it for me cold, with Mayonnaise and a slice of cheese. This is unlike another place down the road (RI) from them that wouldn't adjust items on a sandwich for me last week. The waiter/bartender was super chill too, easy to talk to and basically good at his job. Our refills came quickly and without asking. He followed up to see what we wanted a couple times and the food arrived in a reasonable time (not much waiting at all). This was so very different from that same day where at our usually spot (another old bar/restaurant further down the road, "SJ") we had to walk out just after ordering lunch due to getting attitude from a mouthy waitress. Glad we decided to try this new spot! Great job! I think we found our new local "go to" bar/restaurant. Looking forward to it and to soon trying breakfast there on weekends too. A must try f you haven't been there yet.

It's been a great addition to the Mt Nebo area that has always lacked a modern, good eats menu. This location has a small arcade upstairs that is nice to entertain the kids for a bit. I enjoyed the jerk chicken cheesesteak - a fun twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak. Throw fries are dusted with a seasoning that is good and palatable for children. I ordered my daughter a kids cheeseburger with fries and the fries came dusted on her plate too. I didn't eat the crab Rangoon nachos but they were a favorite at our table. Service was friendly and quick!

My husband and I ate one dinner here. The menu listed salads, wings, sandwiches, pizzas, entrees such as pasta and steak, in-house beers, cocktails, mocktails, etcetera. Our waitress performed her job well. Here is what we ate: Crab rangoon nachos - 4 stars - Wonton chips were covered in sweet chili glaze, large chunks of imitation crab meat (which my husband liked), green onion, and black sesame seeds. Apricot bourbon salmon - 4 stars - The salmon was cooked nicely and was juicy and flavorful. For sides, the mixed vegetables had a bit too much oil, and the brussels sprouts could use more flavor. Chicken cordon bleu sandwich - 4 stars - My husband said that the chicken was slightly overfried and hard, but the flavors from the arugula, onions, prosciutto, cheese, and dijonaise were good. He liked the side of crispy fries. The total price was $54 plus tax and tip.
