If you're not from the North Hills area chances are you probably never heard of this spot. It's on Lincoln street right across from the Lincoln Bakery. It's cash only and seating is limited so if you're going for breakfast, go early. Don't worry they serve breakfast all day. It had a very homie atmosphere, the whole staff was so friendly and the prices were SOLID. Everything we got with a tip came out to $55 The star of the show for us was two things we didn't expect. The ham on the eggs benny and the chili. Everything else was a top tier quality for us when looking for a diner breakfast. Omelette wasn't skimping in filling, biscuits homemade with that love, pancakes very fluffy and didn't need syrup, potatoes cooked perfect with awesomely sautéed onions, and that hollandaise sauce... one of if not best I've had. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. Places simply don't exist like this, at least not in Washington county. So good my wife had the Tuna Melt, which she said was amazing. My only gripe is that the burger could've used some more seasoning, and that's minor I asked our server how the chicken salad was and if she liked it. Hubby and I stopped here for a late lunch and the Steeler's game (with sound!) on 2 televisions. Parking was free on the street because it was a Sunday. The menu is extensive (4 kinds of Devonshires!), the staff are nice, and the kitchen is fast. I had a truly delicious tuna melt and hubby's tangy coleslaw (standard issue), while he had a burger (on Texas toast?!) and the fries. Haven't been here for years but visited because we were on the northside hiking the steps and got hungry. I remembered Rusty Nail from way back: good food, friendly servers, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Sho'nuff it's still the same. I'm gonna be honest with you here. I thought this place was a bar and passed it by on multiple occasions. I mean with a name that has 'rusty nail' in it, you kind of get a bar image. Was I ever delighted when it turned out that I was wrong. Looking for food after an exhausting day I was basically tired and found myself in front of here. When I looked in the window I found a dining room with tables rather than a bar filled with people standing. While looking in the window I also noticed daily specials. These change from day to day. So if you don't want something on the menu, you can choose one of the daily specials. On this particular night we went with the specials. I went in and asked for a menu. I was offered a seat, but I declined since I knew I was taking it with me. After looking of the menu quickly I went with the specials. I ordered the stuffed pork chops for my better half and then for myself I got the stuffed chicken breast. While it was being prepared I was once again offered a seat and a drink. I again declined. Once the food was prepared I was surprised by the amount that came out, it was definitely a dinner. Just so everyone knows, cash only. If you don't have enough cash on you, there is an ATM inside to help you. Once I got the food home I was floored. The amount is overwhelming and will fill you up for sure. You get a salad with your meal as well, and bread. Two big slices of fresh Italian bread which accompanies your meal quite nicely. I can't speak to the pork chops, but that chicken breast was huge and filled to the brim with some amazing stuffing. Covered in gravy which gives you a nice blend of flavors. The mashed potatoes were equally amazing and that gravy continued there. The broccoli was great as well. I can tell you that I cleaned my plate that night and had a happy belly. I don't frequent Bellevue often but if this is what the neighborhood has to offer, then I will certainly be returning. I'm from a smaller town and this diner made me feel right at home. I treated my mom to lunch on Saturday as this used to be a favorite spot for her years ago. We went about 3p which was the perfect time as it was not too busy. It was my first time here and it's a very cute mom and pop type feel inside. Our waitress was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful with explaining that they still do not take credit cards but do have an ATM now. My mom ordered a decaf coffee and the Waitress brewed it fresh for her with no problem. My mom ordered the spaghetti which came with a side salad; she said it was all delicious and couldn't believe the size of the meatballs! I believe she received a side of bread and butter or it was complimentary? I wasn't sure but it was very fresh. We both shared the zucchini fries as an appetizer; hot and yummy. I had the deluxe burger which was cooked to perfection, fries and a side of coke slaw. You know a place is good when they put old bay seasoning on their slaw. Portions are very large for the low price; definitely enough for 2 meals as we each brought half of ours home. Total was under $40 minus the tip. We will definitely be returning! read more

I've been coming to Joe's Rusty Nail since I was a little girl - it's one of my favorite spots in Bellevue. Their breakfast is delicious, but so their dinner menu. They are a cash only restaurant, but they have an ATM on site. I was meeting my parents for dinner around 6pm - I got to the restaurant first, so I went in to get a table. Maryann (our waitress) told me to pick a table, so I picked one against the wall. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of room in between the tables - but I was able to find one where our whole party was comfortable. Each day, they have different dinner specials. They also offer a variety of foods for those young and old. I ordered the Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice soup go start - it was so tasty! I definitely order it again. I ordered the Chicken Stuffed Breast for dinner - it was similar to a Thanksgiving dinner. Chicken stuffed with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and cranberry sauce. It was delicious!!! This is a small charming little place in Bellevue with table seating and a full menu from Salads, to Burgers to full Meals and it looks like they have some amazing Breakfast I'll be back for. I tried one of the specials which was a Jambalaya Sandwich that should be on the main menu. Yes it was that good. A Sandwich and Potato Salad for $6.99 is a heck of a deal these days.
