I won a gift card via Instagram, so a friend and I planned to stop in for trivia night. It was my fault for not looking up hours that food was served, this is more of a lunch spot, no food is served after 4PM. When I realized this, I asked our waitress if I could use the gift card for drinks and she said yes. We ordered Grubhub delivery, played trivia, and had some beers. The issue occurred when we asked for our check, and showed our waitress the message that I won the gift card. The manager was at the Penguins game, and they were unable to honor my gift card without them being there to enter the information. We waited forever for our waitress to come back to the table, and still had no resolution. At this point I planned to pay for everything on my own without the gift card but they ended up honoring the gift card after much back and forth. I've won gift cards on instagram numerous times and have never had an issue anywhere else.

Fun spot with a large beer tap selection! They stopped serving food pretty early on a Friday night. We had a few drinks and found somewhere else to eat. Neat vibe!

This was a bit of an unusual experience for me. The atmosphere was buzzing. But it was trivia night and the bar was full of antsy young lawyers. Our server was quick to come over and bring us our drinks and told us they stop serving food at 2pm. It was well after 6pm and we just drove an hour into the city to specifically come to this bar so we were pretty disappointed. We were able to door dash food into the bar so we could continue playing trivia, which just seemed, weird. Drinks were cheap , $20 for 4 beers and the service was fast. When we were trying to pay there was quite a bit of issues, we wanted to use a gift card and the server told us we would have to wait for an hour for her boss to get there to manually do it. Kind of ridiculous. She ended up figuring it out and we paid and left. We had very high hopes of the oldest bar in Pittsburgh but now not sure if we'll return.

Half cider, half Guinness. Tell me you can't do your job without telling me you can't do your job.

Asked if she could do a half cider half Guinness and she said yes. This is what I got. She shrugged her shoulders and didn't care. Definitely pick some where else to go. Maybe somewhere with an actual bartender.

This is a great place for gatherings and food. They have some great seafood. As for gatherings, they provided quick service, had a decent amount of drafts on tap, and good people. We traveled here for a coworkers last day at the office. Good times.

My girlfriend suggested we go here for lunch now that the downtown location of Storms has closed. She took me up a flight of stairs. We were greeted warmly and sat down at a table overlooking a window. They have daily specials which are posted on one of those triangle boards outside the restaurant. I decided to go with the chicken breast sandwich with coleslaw. She went with a spinach salad topped with salmon. Her salad was supposed to come with a bacon dressing. We got our food in a descent amount of time. My chicken breast was very thick but was on a regular bun. It was good but very messy. The coleslaw was average. My girlfriend told me that she loved her spinach salad however, it seemed as though the dressing she got was more like a vinaigrette than a bacon dressing. She inquired about it and was given another. She later told me that it still tasted like a vinaigrette. Prices here seem to be much more reasonable and you can get away with a sandwich and side for under $10.00 if you aren't ordering drinks. There is a bar area which wasn't open during our visit. The place is clean and the staff very friendly. They have other items on the menu such as paninis and I understand their specialty is hamburgers. Will have to try one next visit here. I gather that we must have eaten in their banquet hall. I did not get the opportunity to see the restaurant and bar below. It makes for a descent lunch if you work near or in the area and are under time constraints because of work.

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.

Gotta celebrate draft weekend properly We started with the smoked salmon appetizer--perfect portion, super fresh, and a great way to kick things off. Then came the toughest decision of the morning: blueberry lemon pancakes or cherry cheesecake French toast? Both sounded like they belonged in the brunch hall of fame. But in the end, the brunch favorite called my name--the cheesy tater tot waffle. And let me tell you... absolutely worth it. Crispy, cheesy, and topped with over-easy eggs that brought it all together. One of those dishes where you just sit there for a second after the first bite like, "yeah, I made the right call." When we got there we were told that they weren't ready yet. We didn't even tell them we had reservations. So we waited. . . and waited. Finally my son walked over to the bar and told them that we had reservations. The bartender called a server out. She asked us if we were doing fine dining. I said that I wanted to check out the menu to see what they had. She took us to the back of the restaurant. We found out later that there was a nicer area but it was closed off. All of a sudden all of these people started coming in. It took us a minute and we realized that they were guests of the Embassy hotel. They must have been given tickets for free drinks. The bar line was long and stayed long. They were also given access to a very small snack buffet. The server that waited on us was the one and only server working the entire restaurant. She was constantly cleaning tables and checking on the snack buffet. So we had to wait ridiculous amounts of time to order, to get our food, and to even pay. I had ordered a cup of lobster and corn chowder. When I finally got it, it was barely room temperature. It tasted like it was straight out of a can. There was one tiny piece of lobster and about half a can of corn. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and was starving so I ate it. My son tried it and gave it a hard pass. As my entree I ordered shrimp tacos. There was seemed to be fresh pico on it but the shrimp was 90% breading. Not good. My son ordered the club type sandwich. It had a nice portion of meat on it and tasted ok. (That is what the one star is for.). Was very disappointed from start to finish. I won't be back. Ever.
