Been waiting to eat here but reservations have been hard to come by. The previous business was a regular for us but the new restaurant is a step up in decor and menu. Maybe a couple of steps. They open at 4:30 and as long as you arrive in the first half hour you will likely get a table. After that you may have to be satisfied with bar seating which looks just fine. The French Onion Soup was good but different. The ratings drop is because my entree arrived before I even got halfway through the soup. Not good! Chicken Parm was quite nice. Too full to try dessert.

Table for 4....this place is awesome....small and intimate and busy....best not take chances and secure a reservation ...out waiter was attentive...friendly and helpful...portions huge and tasty....bathroom clean and tastefully papered with fox on the run...nice treat....

Managed to get a last minute reservation and went all out with ordering. The burger is my go to but had my eye on the chicken parm. It was as great as I suspected. Will continue to come back over and over!

Wow!! This place really surprised me. I have heard good things about it and was excited to try it out to myself. The restaurant is cute and cozy, a tad bit loud when it gets crowded though. The food was delicious, great flavors! My favorites were the foccocia with whipped ricotta and black truffle honey, the friend chicken sandwich with Calabrian chilis... so tender and juicy and the perfect amount of heat, and huge! The real star was the dry aged tavern burger. A simple burger with great ingredients and so juicy and flavorful. One of the best burgers I've had at a restaurant and would go back just for that. The cocktails were just as delicious and creative. From the olive oil gin washed martini to the Smokey and sweet crimson ember. Service was good. It was a bit crowded so it took a while to get refills on waters but the food came out fast and hot!

What a cute place! It's apparently new and it was hopping! We couldn't get a table, but grabbed some seats at the bar. I failed to take photos of the food and drinks but they were presented nicely and the food was delicious. I had the chicken tenders and a "ain't got no thyme." I recommend both, can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes!

Totally was worth the hype!! Everyone loved their burgers and each was cooked to our liking. The lemondrop sour was perfectly tart and balanced, and the focaccia with whipped ricotta was a great start. Absolutely loved the decor and lighting, and our server was wonderful. Loved my experience here, looking forward to coming back and trying other things on the menu!

Stopped in on a Thursday evening and sat at the bar. The décor is fabulous--warm, inviting, very clean, and giving an upscale 1950s vibe. It's a huge improvement from what was here before. The staff is top-notch: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Drinks were good, averaging $12-$14. I ordered the Linguini alla Frutti di Mare (shrimp, mussels, calamari in a white wine lemon butter sauce) for $35. Hubs had the burger and fries for $19. Hubs said the burger was probably the best he has had. Mine was good, but adding cheese would've taken it to the next level. While the quality is there, at this price point I would've appreciated bread with a garlic dipping sauce or a small salad included. Portion sizes were fair--not huge, not small. I left full without needing a to-go box. The biggest downside was the bar stools--pretty uncomfortable, my back hurts. Also, while I was eating, the owner had a long, loud conversation with someone sitting next to me. Not ideal when you're trying to enjoy a meal. As I was finishing my food they finally ended the conversation. For two people with drinks, food, and tip, the total was $145. Overall, great atmosphere and service.

We visited foxhole tavern after seeing it as a newer restaurant in pittsburgh. We got the steak frites, Demi baguette with Amish butter and brussel sprouts with garlic aioli. The food was very good and we enjoyed our meal. We cannot wait to try more items and return! The service was slow/understaffed. I believe there were only 2 servers for the whole restaurant with all tables full and rotating new tables all night. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a check after we finished eating. Additionally, the restaurant was very loud and made it difficult to talk within our group. Also, was able to hear our neighbors and tables over. I think the restaurant needs to considered some sound absorbing tiles under the tables. I think this restaurant has some kinks to work out as far as noise, service, overall flow but the food was great and I can't wait to go back!

This is a great new dinner spot. Parking was easy, it's in a cute area, and is an elevated tavern vibe. Food was incredible, we both had steaks and enjoyed them. The star of the show was definitely the brussel sprouts which are on a garlic aioli spread, I could've rated the whole order myself. The cosmo was good, they had lots of other cocktail, wine and beer options. The restaurant was busy, but service was pretty attentive. My only critique is that the noise level was high, it's a small space that echoed quite a bit and it was difficult to hear our server and even speak to each other. I'm sure this restaurant will be successful and we will definitely be back!

Cozy upgrade bar had a nice appeal.

Total makeover from prior owner. Looks very nice, friendly staff with a nice selection of signature drinks. We sat at the completely renovated bar with a warm tones throughout.

Went here for my mother in law's birthday. Such a cute place with parking across the street. All of the staff was great. Very kind and attentive. Our food was really good. From our party of five, four of us had the French onion soup. All of us agreed that it was good but the bread was way too hard. Weird but ok. The entrees were all delicious . Fish and chips, bunless burger, steak au poivre and the pork chop. Dessert was also good. Drinks were spot on. Our server, Kelly, was awesome. Try this place if you're in the area.

Pork Chop sub squash for Brussels (because we had the Brussels as an app. They were great!)

The bar serves cocktails, wines, beers, and mocktails. For dinner and late-night bites, the restaurant focuses mostly on small plates and shareables, including charcuterie, chicken wings, pizzetta, steak, and salmon. They also have a Sunday brunch that serves lox bagel, shrimp and grits, French toast, mimosa, bloody Mary, etcetera. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The best aspect of The Finch was its beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh's skyscrapers, Monongahela River, and subway trains. The foods and drink were a mixture of quality, and my husband called them "garbage" (eek!). Here are my ratings for them. Berry Mint Spritz - 4 stars - This mocktail (I could have ordered it with alcohol to turn it into a cocktail) contained strawberries, mint, lemon, syrup, and soda water. All of the flavor had settled on the bottom of the glass, so I could have used a straw to mix the drink, but I did enjoy the flavors. Summer Crab Cakes - 2 stars - I received two crab cakes, and they were some of the worst crab cakes that I have ever received anywhere. They contained too much breading and too little meat. I did not even like the flavor of the cherry tomatoes on the side. I usually love crab cakes, but with these ones, I could take only a couple of bites, and then I had the waitress throw away the rest. Hawaiian Pizzetta - 4 stars - This small pizza consisted of four slices that had cheese but no gooey cheese-pull. Other toppings were BBQ sauce drizzle, pineapple, ham, and red pepper. I thought that it tasted good. Ember Steak Skewers - 4 stars - My husband said that the steak was not the highest quality. At least the chunks of steak, peppers, onions, and mushroom (we counted one piece of mushroom!) were marinated and seasoned nicely. The total cost for this one mocktail, three foods, and one soda was $79 *plus* a 3% credit-card surcharge, tax, and a minimum tip of 18%. We asked the waitress for a receipt, but she did not bring us one, so we walked up to her to ask for it again, and we did receive it.

It is a very open space and there is even window to the street that lets in air and light. There are a ton of unique drink options and a small list of bites to go with them. I love that they have a "bartenders choice" option where you tell the bartender what your likes, dislikes and tastes are and they create something for you. I will definitely need to try that on a future visit. This time, I tried the cool handed cuke because I am a sucker for anything cucumber. It was flavorful and a perfect spring/summer drink. It didn't taste overly strong which craft cocktails sometimes can. I sat at the bar and service was attentive but not over the top. They knew I came alone but weren't weird about it (you'd be surprised how many places think it is the strangest thing that you would drink or dine somewhere alone). I'd love to come back here with some girlfriends or even as a date night with my husband.
