    Chilean Sea Bass
    Sam D.

I was excited to try Bristo 19 again it's been a little while since I've came. The place it self was very hot and a little uncomfortable. It was a hot day outside but it was like the AC wasn't on at all. Our server Rebecca was very sweet and newer to the job. She was so friendly and you can tell she was trying to do a great job! She will be a reason we come We ordered some drinks, apps, and entrees. The bar service was really slow and our drinks came incorrect. The old fashioned had a half melted ice cube which watered it down and the dirty martini didn't have olives or olive juice. The apps on the other hand were great the tuna poke had some great flavors and the wasabi peas were a fantastic touch! The special peach salad had all the flavors of summer and would have been a home run if there was a little more dressing. The Chilean Sea Bass was so good but what it was paired with didn't have much flavor but the sea bass was cooked to perfection. The Bay of Fundy Salmon however was by far the best from the sauces to the deconstructed spanakopita. That is a must order.

    Black Tiger Shrimp Dinner

We had a gift card so we came on a Friday night as a special treat! The restaurant is small and intimate but surprisingly a little loud. Nice decor though. Our service was great, we never felt rushed and the servers and runners were super attentive, always filling up our waters. Our cocktails were both great, The Warthog and Nineteeni. Honestly my Nineteeni was the star of the show! We ordered the tuna poké for an app, which seemed like a weird choice for an American bistro. It was fine. I had the black tiger shrimp and my fiancé had the Chilean sea bass. I think our entrees were good - just incredibly overpriced! $44 for a piece of fish and a pretty mediocre serving of rice and slaw. Kind of crazy! My black tiger shrimp dish was phenomenal and more reasonably priced. Dessert was very good - I think most of it is sourced locally except the bananas foster Napoleon we had wasn't. Not sure would spend my own money there. Giving a 4 because the cocktails and service were so good!

Breakfast sandwich off of their brunch menu with a mimosa

The BEST breakfast sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. I dream about it! Cute little place with plenty to do nearby. Great drinks as well.

Fried Fish Sandwich with a side salad in lieu of fries

This place is rath plane and basic from the outside, but inside it's very nice! Somewhat upscale (cloth napkins, etc), with a very creative menu, and excellent service. Came here for lunch with a coworker and really enjoyed the entire experience, from the food to the service. Their fish sandwich is HUGE, with a fried cod filet on it that's three times larger than the bun! The cheeseburger soup (which was the soup of the day when I stopped in) was creative, tasty and, really enjoyable! Save room for dessert though, they have an amazing dessert menu! I would most definitely return and highly recommend stopping in to try it for yourself!

Lemon Pepper Calamari with Caper Aioli

Still 5 stars! The fact that somewhere great is open on a Monday makes me happy! Love supporting local businesses. Sea bass is incredible..so glad its back on the menu. Lemon Pepper Calamari is really nice and lightly fried. The caper aioli is beyond addictive. Also suggest Bananas Foster Napoleon

Such a gem on Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon, where there's no shortage of dining options. The only reasons I didn't give them 5 stars is the lack of vegetarian options. I was vegetarian for many years, but now occasionally eat seafood, for which there were many options. Our server was extremely professional without being stuffy. Just as importantly, she was very knowledgeable about the menu, including which items are safe on my gluten-free diet. I settled on the swordfish special and was not disappointed. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and the lemony sauce was well balanced. Hubby had the pork and also enjoyed his meal. There were seven in our party in all and everyone enjoyed their meals. The cost was definitely on the higher end, but I would definitely return.

    Ahi tuna

Went tonight for our anniversary. It was nice to be given a 4 top table even though there were 2 of us. I don't care for the small space on a 2 top. Service was great & wonderful. Husband and I shared the French onion soup, it was hot and had great flavor. I got the ahi tuna. It was cooked a little more well than I liked but was good. One thing that was so disappointing was the amount of rice they gave as a side. There was hardly any rice, I couldn't believe it. Dessert was great too. We will try again even though the portions were small

The food was average. The service was adequate. The ambiance was nice. The price far exceeded the quality and the menu is extremely limited.

I ended up swapping to a Fat Heads Bumble Berry as the beam me up was too sweet for me. I ordered the Smack and it was very filling, had to get a to go box for the other half. Everything else came out great as well. If you got a hankering for some grilled cheeses, this is the place to be!

After a recent visit here - my 7 yr old niece loudly proclaimed: "The Yard was a bust."…read more And unfortunately she was right. We came here with my three young nieces. From the moment we stepped inside - my brother warned me that this spot is usually understaffed - so we may need to wait a little for a table. No worries. We got comfortable at their low seated waiting couches. I personally could have easily stayed there for the whole duration - and I think my nieces could have as well. We brought out some of their art supplies and they quickly began their masterpieces. About 15-20 minutes later - a staff member said our table was ready. We made our way over to our hightop table - which conveniently also had an elevated booth set-up. It was a nice set-up for young kids, especially ones intent on finishing homemade cards. The Yard even had some crayons and playful coloring placemats for kids to draw on. Score! My brother placed an order for some pretzel sticks, some orders of tomato soup and some grilled cheeses. My nieces had huge grins on their faces as they imagined their upcoming meals. After about 25 minutes or so after our order was taken, - the pretzels came out. They looked and smelled fantastic. They were great for holding over my nieces' growing appetites. My nieces enjoyed them thoroughly. That's when things stalled. We waited for over an hour with no additional food coming out. I noticed that there was another family beside our table with a young baby - that had also been waiting a long time. I could see the concerned looks on their faces - as their table grew restless and hungry. You could tell that they were eager to eat, go home and put their baby to bed. My nieces began to to get antsy and began to whine about how hungry they were. My brother said that we would wait about 15 minutes more and if we had no update or food - we'd ask about the status of it. And so we waited. No one came over to us - so I went to the bar - and asked about the status of the food - explaining that we had three younger children with us, that were beginning to get hangry. The bartender said that one of their chefs had gone home sick earlier in the day - and that they were short-staffed in the kitchen. She said that she would check on our order and let us know its status. She never came back over to us. We waited for about 20 minutes longer. Nobody came over. I totally understand how things can get busy, how places can be understaffed, and that things come up - but I think that The Yard could have handled the situation more proactively. They should have let us know from the very beginning that they were understaffed and that there would be a wait for food. We likely would have gone elsewhere. Since my nieces had to be back home promptly for bed - we ended up paying for the pretzels and my nieces' drinks - and left. My brother explained the situation to their staff before we departed. From my time here - I believe The Yard would be a solid spot for a family friendly meal - but only when they're well staffed. If you come here hungry - I'd recommend confirming with the staff - before you are seated - how long the estimated wait for your table and your food may be. Trust.
