I had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks, and sadly it just missed the mark. Positives: We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. The servers were kind (we actually had two taking care of us), and we liked that they had an iPad with pictures of each of the night's specials. It was my friend's birthday, and they put a sparkler in her dessert and had some of the staff come sing. Also, the tiramisu was delicious. Negatives: While we had two servers at the beginning of the meal, I'm not sure what happened to them because service was not great. They never refilled our water, and our drink ticket got "lost" (the server did offer to comp these but we weren't really interested in another drink when we were already done with our meals). Of the four in our group, three of us had eaten maybe 1/3 of our entrees (plates mostly full still), and without asking, the server came through, took our plates, and stacked them on top of each other, before we even had a chance to ask for a box. I've actually never seen anything like it; we were all so shocked by that. Had an early dinner at the bar on 4-22-26 during NFL Draft week. Our server, Diane was very personable and attentive. We had a Caesar salad, 16 oz ribeye steak and lobster mac & cheese. The salad was delicious with plenty of dressing and large croutons. The lobster Mac & cheese was not great, it lacked flavor and it barely had any lobster. We ordered our steak medium rare and it came out medium well. We sent the steak back and a new one came out about ten minutes later. The steak could have been better, it was not flavorful. Matthew from behind the bar took our drinks and mac & cheese off our bill which was appreciated. Probably won't eat here again and prefer Hyde Park Steakhouse. read more

Food is subpar, given the prime location. Server explained what the specials were, and when we asked about substituting a different pasta for the rigatoni noodle in one of the specials we were told that the "chef" would be highly offended, and would most likely come out and ask us to leave if we wanted to substitute (sorry, but I'm not a 4 year old eating rigatoni and Ragu). The two of us were able to walk and be seated fairly easily on Thursday night. Service was excellent and we had a comfortable spot back by the kitchen. The drinks were good, especially the lavender limoncello. My wife had chicken Parm and gnocchi. The chicken Parm was excellent and quite large. The gnocchi was very heavy but in a good garlic cream sauce. I got the pasta special which was ravioli with bare ribs. The spare ribs were fatty as expected and oddly seasoned. I was in town on business. I chose to stay at The Landing Hotel that is connected to the casino. The main reason I chose to stay here was because of the selection of restaurants in the casino and the area. It saved me the time of hunting down places to eat at during my stay in Pittsburgh. My first night in town I decided to have dinner at Martorano's. When I walked in, the manager, who was wearing a poorly fitted suit, was at the hostess desk. He asked me if I had a reservation I told him no, sorry I don't. I started to explain to him I just got into town but he cut me off. He went on to say okay I'll be right back but you can have a seat at the bar which is full service while he gets me a table. He never came back. I decided to wait for him because I actually hate having dinner at the bar. I don't like smelling that old alcohol smell while I'm eating. When I'm at restaurant, especially a higher end one like this place, I prefer a table. He left me standing there for close to ten minutes. The hostess came over and asked me if I was being helped. I said yes I think so, I think the manager was getting a table for me but he didn't come back to seat me. She went over to him standing at the bar, then came back and said he was busy and she was happy to seat me. I was sitting at the table within a matter or two minutes. The table was about five feet away from where the manager was still standing. It turned out he wasn't busy... he was busy BS'ing with the bartender who seemed to be very busy. My waiter, Robert, took my order. He knew the menu very well and made some excellent recommendations. I ordered a Caesar salad, lobster mac & cheese, and a very well prepared veal chop. Everything was very good. Nice sized portions. The chop was the highlight of the entire meal. Practically the entire time I was there manager stuck around the bar area except for one time when he seated a couple next to my table Overall my experience was great, except for how the manager handled my seating. My husband and I visited this restaurant expecting a nice evening, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. I explained that when I called and checked the website, I was not told that reservations were required. We were directed to a table that was not clean, and when I asked for a different table, I was initially told no. Shortly afterward, another couple arrived and was seated at the very table I had requested. The food was also disappointing. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller, and they were wet, soggy, and not enjoyable. My fried green tomatoes were burnt. My husband ordered catfish nuggets, cornbread, and macaroni and cheese. The fish arrived first, but the cornbread was not brought out until after he had finished eating, which is not how a meal should be served. What bothered me most was how the returned food was handled. After sending the oysters back, a staff member brought the dish back to our table and questioned me about why I did not like it. I found this inappropriate and uncomfortable. If a customer sends food back, the issue should be handled professionally without putting the customer on the spot. I also witnessed similar treatment toward another table. The situation eventually escalated to the point where we were told we did not have to pay for anything and should leave. While I appreciate not being charged, the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Before ordering ANY pasta dish, be aware of the fact there is only ONE single way they cook their noods: rare al dente plus. This means that if you like to eat your pasta cooked and edible, don't waste your time. The server and manager explained to us that it is a strict kitchen rule that is enforced - no allowance to customize since they will only make it one way. The toppings, sauce and everything else was fine but what good would it be without eating the virtually uncooked pasta with it? Might as well not even include pasta in my opinon! I enjoyed my dinner at Martorano's Prime. My boyfriend and I went on a Wednesday evening at 5:00pm. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. We had quick service the whole dinner, but had four different waiters/waitresses serving us at one point and were asked the same question multiple times. This was confusing because we were not sure who to ask if we needed anything. The bread that is offered is fresh and warm. The two oils were both delicious when dipped in. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari. It was warm and crispy when it arrived at our table and the balsamic glaze was delicious. The Chicken Cutlet was huge and super flavorful. The Bucatini Carbonara is delicious. The pasta is cooked to a "true al dente" and fairly firm, which I love! The Chocolate Cake for dessert was absolutely our favorite part of dinner. The chocolate is extremely rich and the cream cheese icing was amazing. The Yo Cuz white chocolate topper was a great addition. From the moment it started until we left, it was a DISASTER and based on how the manager responded I will NEVER stepping back in there. Went out for a socially distanced Valentine's Day socially-distanced dinner with my wife and our best friends. First the restaurant did very well ensuring people were complying with Covid related regulations. This included the staff and the guests. We shared our anti-pasta (appetizer) family style. We had prosciutto and had the Eggplant Stack. I could've eaten eggplant stack all by myself. It was delicious. The prosciutto was delicious. I had to 16 ounce New York Strip Martorano steak. It came with peppers and sharp Gouda shavings. The steak was tender and the peppers and cheese on top added a nice flavor. My wife had the lobster Francaise that she loved. Our friends both had two different steaks, one a filet and one a t-bone, and both loved them. We had risotto and truffle fries and sides that we shared. The risotto was creamy and the fries were flavorful. Because I was driving I didn't have a cocktail but the Darjeeling tea they served me was delicious. We also enjoyed the service from our servers Erin and Ryan. The had a DJ playing music that I'm is back to our HS days. I hate to give a bad score or review, but we did not have a good experience for our Valentine's Day dinner on Friday. It started out great with a reservation at the time we wanted and friendly hostesses. We got there 15 minutes early and we were seated. Our server was very thorough but almost talked for 5 whole minutes. We were brought bread, one piece each...no more, and it was good. My husband dipped the bread in the sauce, and he started coughing uncontrollably. The sauce was super spicy but we were not told. The calamari was very good...our favorite part of the meal. We sadly will eat almost anything but we both did not like or finish our dinners. My chicken Parmesan had no flavor at all and the gnocchis tasted like bad imitation Alfredo. My husband's also did not have much flavor and was very very Al dente...almost hard. We also had no drinks for almost 15 minutes. We were told when he visited in January, he did away with his happy hour menu. We always enjoyed a few items on that menu (cutlet sliders, pizza) in addition to our dinner. We were so surprised he did this. Very disappointing. No use in going back as they don't even offer the choice of getting our favorites on the regular menu. They have a 9pm happy hour, but martinis are still $12! Visited on New Years Eve 12/31/24. An absolute waste of money. The service was lousy, we had a complaint and our server basically justified it but said she would mention it to a manager, but nobody addressed the issue. To begin, the special menu for the evening was nothing but overpriced smoke and mirrors. An app, an entree, a side and desert for $130 per person. We were told the sides were "shareable" however, they were barely enough for one. We each chose a different side for this reason. Exactly 8 pieces of asparagus and less than one cup of mashed potatoes. My biggest complaint was that we opted for the $10 upcharge for sinantra style, and got literally ONE medium shrimp on top the steak. We dine out frequently, we try new places constantly and this experience ranks among the worst. I would not recommend this restaurant and I certainly would not return. read more

Prime cuts and perfect preparations with a gorgeous crust and seasoning with that dollop of butter on top just makes it for me every time.
