Birthday dinner for the hubby
Kristen E.

So I came back a month later for a business meal, and while I cannot applaud my timing (traffic was terrible on account of the streets being blocked off for a festival), I'm glad I did. The apple salad and salmon were fine the first and second times (as leftovers), but listen to the reigning Yelp Duchess when I say that the whiskey sunburst was A-MAZ-ING.

Filet with Mole sauce

What an incredible dining experience! So often the staff can make dinner so much more exceptional. We have been to a lot of restaurants, in the. USA and abroad. Jered was unequivocally the best server we have ever had. He is extremely personable, very knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to make every course of your meal exceptional. I just cannot speak highly enough of his skill set. On top of that, the food was outstanding. We loved the pear salad with the port wine reduction. The onion soup was the best we've ever had. They even went the extra step to split the portion in two bowls! Grilled bread service with flavored butter. The filet with homemade mole sauce was incredible. The sauce was so good I asked for extra! Cocktails were creative and unique. The chocolate cake was fresh and worth the calories. Executive chef Canales visited our table and told us about the complexities of making homemade mole sauce. He has a secret ingredient! If you've not been to this FL. 2 recently, I would strongly suggest you go. It is well worth it!

The gin cocktail and an old fashioned. Delicious and perfect glassware for each cocktail. - The image shows two cocktails on a bar counter. The first cocktail is in a coupe glass with a frothy top and garnished with a lemon slice and a dried citrus slice. The second cocktail is in a rocks glass with an orange peel garnish. In the background, there are bottles of wine or spirits and barware, indicating a bar setting. The drinks are placed on black napkins on a white marble surface.

Delicious drinks, beautiful atmosphere. This is on the second floor of the Fairmont and offered us a quieter bar to have a cocktail upon arrival in Pittsburgh. The first round of drinks was perfection. We had the gin cocktail and an old fashioned. The bar got busy when we were ready for our second and we waited quite awhile for our second round. The food everyone was ordering around us looked really good and we should have stayed for the burger. Second round was good but not great, we definitely felt like the quality wasn't there on the drinks, but probably bc the guy was in a rush trying to get everyone served. My only disappointment was that... I'm guessing they were short staffed for the night. Would definitely come back again to give it another go.

Can't speak on the food because I didn't eat here- but had 2-3 great cocktails here! Stopped here after dinner with a friend after she raved about the espresso martinis. They were fab! The ambience is beautiful. It's a lovely hotel, and one of the nicest "hotel bars" I've ever been to! Doesn't even feel like a hotel bar The bartenders were really kind and knowledgeable about the drinks, and had recommendations for us. I can't remember what the other cocktail I had was, but it was so refreshing and light- the perfect summer bev

The breakfast at this restaurant was amazing. The pancakes are a MUST, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Very accommodating and the service was great. Definitely a nicer feel than most hotel restaurants.

I came here for happy hour drinks. The bartenders are attentive and I highly recommend the espresso martini. The bar is nice on the 2nd floor and doesn't feel like a hotel bar. I had a nice night chatting with the other clientele at the bar. I would definitely come back.

Four people are holding glasses of coffee cocktails with foam and coffee beans on top, gathered in a social setting. The glasses are cocktail-style, and the background suggests an indoor environment with wooden flooring and a booth. The hands show different skin tones and accessories, indicating a diverse group. The focus is on the drinks and the act of toasting.

Always a perfect rating for Fl2, had amazing espresso martinis including a new rum offering

The image shows a marble table with a glass of water, a white cup and matching saucer, a metal fork, and a printed brunch menu from a restaurant named fl.2 located in Pittsburgh. The table also has a metal container with condiments and a napkin holder. The menu lists various breakfast and brunch items, indicating a dining setting in a restaurant environment.

This was the perfect place for brunch!! I came in with 17 girls for a bday brunch! They handled all of us so well!! They set up 3 booths for us and food came out way faster than we ever expected! My table got everything from the breakfast sandwich to pancakes to the eggs Benedict and everything was delicious! Got a Bloody Mary and a cosmo both delicious!! I rarely ever give a 5 stars but this place was so great!! John our waiter was so sweet!!! We'll be asking for him again when we come back!!!

I think Fl 2 is one of the more modern / chic restaurants in downtown pittsburgh. Located inside of a hotel, it is just up the stairs. The aesthetic is very pleasing. Reminds me of a New York City restaurant / bar. Dinner menu is decent, I definitely recommend for brunch over dinner. Espresso martinis were yum!

Thai mussels - A black bowl contains grilled mussels with charred shells, topped with fresh cilantro leaves and a lime wedge on the side. The dish is placed on a dark table, with a patterned blue and white plate, a knife, and a glass of water visible in the background, indicating a restaurant environment.

Beautiful restaurant and amazing food. Service subpar. It was hard to get waiters attention. Every time he came by we felt like we had to order quickly or else we wouldn't see him for another 10 minutes. Overall, good experience. We came to celebrate our anniversary and were given a complementary champagne toast. We sat on the side where we can see the kitchen which was pretty cool. We got to see them making the food & serving the plates. Not pictured the dessert. But we had the lemon blueberry creme brûlée & chocolate brownie cheesecake. I would like to add that one of the waiters overheard me speaking to my husband about wanting the creme brûlée for dessert and he said there was "only one left" he made note to the kitchen that I wanted it and they reserved it. That was much appreciated and it was amazing!!

Short ribs and pasta an a half filled glass of sangria. Odd.

Nice ambiance, service, food. Parking garage right next to it and valet parking available right out front for 13.00 with validation by restaurant. While food was delicious, I have a few qualms: 1) prices are extremely high. $115 or two short rib with pasta entrees, one sangria not filled to the top of glass, one cocktail, one apricot dessert with basil ice cream and one chocolate martini. No salads. 2) dessert menu only had one chocolate option and that was the chocolate martini. Sad to not have anything else with chocolate?? 3) chocolate martini-- I ordered expecting it to be served in what else but a martini glass but no....

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.

Gotta celebrate draft weekend properly We started with the smoked salmon appetizer--perfect portion, super fresh, and a great way to kick things off. Then came the toughest decision of the morning: blueberry lemon pancakes or cherry cheesecake French toast? Both sounded like they belonged in the brunch hall of fame. But in the end, the brunch favorite called my name--the cheesy tater tot waffle. And let me tell you... absolutely worth it.
