We had to plans to visit this place, but the game ran long and we were all tired and hungry so did an "eh, just the closest food" run. It turned out to be a nice surprise. We did make reservations but I think we would have been OK without-- they had plenty of customers but weren't slammed. We ordered pierogi to share a couple of drinks, and 3 entrees-- and the total was just over a hundred bucks, which seems REALLY reasonable for a hotel restaurant! As far as the food, the pierogi was awesome, my son loved the chicken Alfredo, I thought my flatbread was very good, and my husband's smashburger was, in his words, "fine." So 3/4 get glowing reviews lol.... Service was very good as well. I was a bit surprised that the kitchen closed quite early for a weekend, but since we all went back to the hotel with full stomachs it all worked out. read more

I had the steak tips "medium rare" and for a $13 up charge, it wasn't worth it. They were dry, charred and just not appetizing. The ravioli themselves were delicious in a sweet cream sauce. After walking by this place dozens of times, I decided to come here for lunch on a Thursday. My lunch was the aglio e olio pasta with grilled chicken. The pasta had nice that nice rich olive-oil flavor with just enough heat to it. (I probably would have used an angel hair or other thinner pasta than the thick spaghetti noodles, but it wasn't bad.) The chicken that came with it was ok, just wish it had had more flavor or seasoning with it. The garlic toast that came with it was very nice. I organized a work lunch at Revel for a group of 15. I worked with Abbey and she was absolutely fantastic! Our actual lunch was great! When we arrived, Revel was not busy at all and they had a little section of the restaurant closed off for us to all sit together. It was a mixture of booths and tables which was fine. We started off by ordering a few portions of the crispy brussel sprouts. They have shaved Parmesan, salt, pepper, and a balsamic drizzle. They were absolutely addicting! For my lunch, I ordered the salmon BLT which came with fries. The portion size was perfect for lunch. The only reason I knocked off a star is because they were out of some ingredients that were needed to make some of the dishes our group wanted to order. So they had to order alternate options. I know this is a new place, so I didn't expect the food to be standout. But, I was actually quite pleasantly surprised. The food really was quite great. Much better, in my opinion, than the restaurant that used to be here (Walnut Grill). I had the fish and chips with ranch and the brownie works for dessert. The fish and chips was really good. The fish was crispy and still moist on the inside. Good amount of breading. A little soggy in a few spots but could have been delivery. Seasoning was okay. It also came with fries, which were a generous portion and good in their own right, and coleslaw which was just okay (not too flavorful and a tiny portion). But the fish n chips itself was a great portion. Ranch was also good. The brownie works dessert was a nice way to end the meal. Also a great portion, very chocolatey throughout with some nice slabs of chocolate. Wish there was a little more whipped cream to balance it. All in all, really quite impressed with this place. I've enjoyed Revel when dining in, but my takeout and delivery experiences have been inconsistent. On two separate orders, the portion sizes seemed smaller than expected compared to dining in. The mac and cheese container was not filled much, and on another order the Alfredo was very dry and needed extra sauce. Our go-to big group brunch spot strikes again! We love bringing friends to Revel when they visit because they can always accommodate a big group & serve great food at really affordable prices. This visit, I decided to try their breakfast sandwich. While it doesn't sound like anything fancy, it was delicious! The egg was runny, the Gruyère was melty, and the peppercorn aioli was really flavorful. I also am a huge fan of breakfast potatoes, and these were top notch. In addition to food, the mimosa carafes are a great deal for a big group & the servers are on top of keeping them filled. I came here for a friend's birthday brunch on Sunday afternoon at 1pm. My friend had made reservations beforehand for 10 people. I got there a few minutes before 1pm and waited for several minutes for someone to come to the host stand. It took so long that I finally went into the restaurant and inquired about the host and was told that they would be out in a few minutes. When the host finally appeared, they told us that they had to go prepare our table so we waited a few more minutes. We finally were seated and the rest of the party trickled in. It took quite some time to take our food orders and I had to prompt the staff to do so. It also took quite some time for the food to come out and for the staff to come with our checks and that was with several members of the party inquiring about it. Thankfully they had a QR code on the receipt so I could pay my bill online immediately. Other members of the party opted to pay with their physical cards which they later regretted because it took so long to get them back. I got there a few minutes before 1pm and didn't leave until a couple of minutes past 3pm. Most of the party ordered one dish and one drink so I was confused why it took so long for everything. I will also note that the restaurant was never packed and towards the end of our visit the only other people there were two other small parties in the fairly large space. The food itself seemed to be fine overall. I got the brisket Benedict with breakfast potatoes. The breakfast potatoes were very good with good flavor. The brisket was bland and I couldn't finish it even though I hate wasting food. I tried my friend's chicken from her chicken and waffles and the chicken was juicy with a crispy outside. The space itself is fairly large and lends itself to large parties. The restaurant is also located steps away from Market Square. Another positive is that they were able to do separate checks for our party which was very convenient. Overall, while the staff was friendly enough, it took longer than it should have for our visit so I wouldn't go if you have to be somewhere else on time. read more

They have a nice happy hour menu that even includes weekends which is hard to find! The Brussel sprouts were plentiful and had all the right flavors! During October they have a cocktail of the day and it's all pumpkin themed. I want to come back to try more! First of all, in my 38 years, I have never been charged for a club soda. It's water with maybe 0.15 cencts worth of carbonation. Revel is located next to the Hilton Garden Inn. It is actually the hotel's restaurant, but it certainly isn't a typical hotel restaurant. My son and I were staying at the Hilton over the weekend and decided to try Revel for breakfast. As you can see from the pictures, the breakfast was amazing! I had the brisket and eggs and my son had the chorizo frittata. The brisket and eggs were perfect and were served over a bed of sautéd zucchini strips. The potatoes were a mixture of diced sweet, red, and purple potatoes. My son's frittata was excellent as well. The tiny red sweet peppers were quite a treat. The chef (yes, not a cook, a real chef) even came over to ask us for feedback. of course we told him it was an amazing breakfast. At $15 each, for an exquisite hotel breakfast, this was very reasonable. read more

It's severely understaffed! Severely!! There in a Sunday before a Steeler game... I feel super bad for the staff. A few servers and like 2 people making food. They work hard, but need to hire more staff. I'm guessing it's a private equity type place so maximizing profits. But it's expensive and the menu is sparse. Like very sparse. Plus most of the sparse menu is simple foot to make. I'm guessing this place won't last long unless they make some changes By the way, I can't stand when restaurants put condiments on things they don't have listed. It's a more upscale but casual atmosphere that had phenomenal brunch drinks. The food was a big hit as well. The salmon was huge and cooked perfectly. I do think it could have used more tomato and aioli, but I'd definitely order it again. My side salad was basic but good, and I liked the shallot vinaigrette. It wasn't very busy right at noon but picked up a bit later on. Beef patty was adequately of medium temperature, although the bacon was dry from being overcooked. Hardly any sauce was underneath the bun and was all in the center rather than spread evenly. By default the burger comes with chips and can upgrade to fries for $1. Was in Pittsburg for a wedding, went to Revel on Sunday, post wedding with family. It took 10 minutes for the waiter to bring us coffee. By the way, we were the 2nd table to be seated at 8:30 Sunday morning, so the place wasn't busy yet. 15 minutes later, the waiter brought the water we requested. As he began to walk away, I told him we were ready to order. We ordered the Brisket Benedict, the Nova Lox on a bagel, and an Avocado toast with a poached egg on the side. It took another 20 minutes for the food to be served. The poached eggs with the Benedict, and the poached egg I ordered with my avocado toast, were all hard cooked. No coffee refills were offered until I asked again. No spoons or creamer for the coffee. The server did bring cream over when I asked. The food was very flavorful and the portions were generous - but the over cooked eggs were a real spoiler when you like poached eggs.
