Great place to grab a quick snack at after you go to the top of the Duquesne incline! Service was quick and friendly. You can sit on the second level and see an overlook of the city. The shrimp were nicely breaded and the sauce was very good. They have a variety of specialty cocktails. I had the pomegranate mule which was strong and tasted good. Very good deals for happy hour!

Wonderful views. Delicious brews. Had some Bloodys and beers with some really fresh salads. Service was on point. Highly recommended if you are visiting the incline.

If you're looking for a quick bite across from the Duquesne Incline station, then I would suggest this place. Food was good, especially the fish sandwich and fries. As for the service, it wasn't bad. The gentleman greeting us was friendly and waitress was attentive.

Views are unparalleled and the service was alright! We had asked to sit on the second level with the views when no one else was up there so it made sense that we got a little less attention up there. The food was alright, it was what you'd expect from a standard bar.

Very beautiful restaurant with great views on the second floor, we got sat at a window seat and the staff were very sweet and friendly. The food was fine, not very impressive. I had the soup of the day (loaded baled potato) and it was good. The bbq chicken Gouda pizza was very dry, not enough bbq sauce. Our cocktail was pretty good though!

I stopped in a couple weeks ago to have a nice cold IPA on a super hot day after showing my gf one of my favorite places in the city for the first time, the Duquesne incline observation deck. I always try to stop in here and enjoy a refreshment while on the hill checking out the views or before and/or after having dinner at one of the many great restaurants on Mt. Washington. It's a great little spot with good food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. The service wasn't that great on the day we went, but I get it the hill was packed with many wedding parties it seems and I know how those people can take a toll on you. Either way, I've had many great experiences here and I recommend it no matter what.

I really enjoyed the location of this "saloon". The service was good and accommodating. The drinks were good but the food was subpar. I'd visit again for the drinks and if I had a window view.

f you're looking for a great bar and restaurant experience with one of the best views in Pittsburgh, Steel Mill Saloon on Mt. Washington is a fantastic choice. With two floors of seating, this spot offers a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a night out. Ambiance & Views The city views from here are absolutely stunning, making it a great place to grab a drink and take in Pittsburgh's skyline. Whether you're sitting upstairs or downstairs, the setting is inviting and lively--a great mix of casual and upscale vibes. Drinks & Food One of the highlights of Steel Mill Saloon is their mixed drink specials--creative, well-made, and definitely worth trying. Whether you're into classic cocktails or something with a unique twist, their bar staff knows how to make a great drink. As for the food, the burger was solid--juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The menu has plenty of options, making it easy to find something to pair with your drinks. Reservations & Service They accept reservations, which is highly recommended, especially as the night goes on. By the time it gets late, the place fills up quickly, and there's usually a good number of people waiting for a table. If you're planning to visit during peak hours, booking ahead is the way to go. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and quick despite the crowd. Whether you're stopping by for drinks, a meal, or just to enjoy the views, Steel Mill Saloon delivers a top-notch experience. Final Thoughts With its awesome drinks, good food, lively atmosphere, and breathtaking city views, Steel Mill Saloon is easily one of the best places to hang out on Mt. Washington. Whether you're a local or visiting the city, this spot is well worth checking out. Highly recommend!

We had such a great dinner at steel mill saloon! My son wanted to treat my daughter and I (he's 14) and he chose to take us there. Everything we had was delicious and the service was excellent as well. I can't recommend enough!

    - Vibes: 4/5 (chill sports bar feel) - Crowd: 4/5 (bit empty on a thurs night) - Menu: 5/5 (tons of cocktail options, vast menu) - Value for price: 4/5 (not terribly expensive) Located across the street from the incline scenic overlook, this place is rustic and cute. Go sit on the second floor for a covered view of the city! We came on a Thursday night around 7:30p and it was quiet, but service was pretty quick. Good vibes for a casual first date or family dinner. The drinks menu boasts a ŵode variety of specialty cocktails. The cucumber gin drink was refreshing and relatively strong. Food wise, I'll give a recap of everything we tried: - Reuben pierogis: delicious (meat was GREAT), chewy, decadent. Amazing sauce. - Firecracker shrimp: very breaded- tasty, but not the best thing we had. Very sweet sauce, super crispy - Fried deviled eggs: the best thing we had. Crispy, rich, full of dill - Arugula/prosciutto pizza: yummy, amazing crust, on the cheesier/less saucy end of the pizza spectrum. A safe and yummy bet

This bar is close to the incline and is steps away from beautiful views of the city. Ambiance is full energy (between the chatter at the tables and loud music) but is expected for this type of establishment. Diverse craft beer menu and unique cocktails quench our thirst. Server was super friendly and attentive, and was very helpful. Our group of seven ordered loaded fries, pickle pizza, cheese pizza, spicy burger, Reuben sandwich and burrata cheese app. Everyone enjoyed their food and portion size was plentiful. I had the spicy inferno burger and it was great but I could take a lot more heat. My only complaint were the side fries came out limp and not hot and crispy. My favourite bite was the deviled eggs- they were deep fried I think and it was unexpectedly great.

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
