Swing and a miss for me. Reservation for Easter 11:30. Greeted by the bartender with Indifference and seated in the back table for four. Rap music playing at a fairly high level. Our server was super nice and took our drink orders despite us not receiving any drink menus. I was craving a Bloody Mary so that is what I ordered. Looks like they offer flights of them too after seeing a post on their tv screen but he didn't ask me if I wanted to try or what sort of bloody so I guess I got their standard. It was delicious (charged extra for Tito's without me requesting). Ordered a special of the day (California Benedict) and it did not have avocado as advertised. I didn't realize right away so kept eating. The poached eggs were fully cooked so dry and very thin/bland hollandaise sauce. No side of potatoes or anything. Roasted red peppers were just standard diced red peppers from what I could tell. Tasteless. Dud of a breakfast. My daughter really liked the strawberry French toast and my wife said her frittata was ok. My meal was $16 and that bloody was $10 plus upcharge so that's why the low score. I wanted to share some feedback about our experience. Overall the staff was friendly, but we had an issue with how drinks were handled at our table. Our group ordered drinks for three people. The server brought drinks for two of us but told my wife she needed to wait a bit before she could be served another drink. What made this confusing is that I had clearly been drinking more than my wife throughout the evening, yet I was served another drink while she was not. To their credit, the staff did try to make things right by bringing us fries, which we appreciated. However, it was still frustrating because my wife had not been drinking earlier in the day and ended up being the only person at the table who was not served. I stopped in a couple weeks ago to have a nice cold IPA on a super hot day after showing my gf one of my favorite places in the city for the first time, the Duquesne incline observation deck. I always try to stop in here and enjoy a refreshment while on the hill checking out the views or before and/or after having dinner at one of the many great restaurants on Mt. Washington. It's a great little spot with good food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. The service wasn't that great on the day we went, but I get it the hill was packed with many wedding parties it seems and I know how those people can take a toll on you. The place seemed really busy but everybody else was getting their food and drinks before me and our team. we sat for at least an hour until we realized everybody around us was getting their food. when we asked the bartender about our food she said they made a mistake and that the cook was getting ready to make our food . all we ordered were appetizers and everybody seemed to get their whole entree with appetizers before us. when we got up to pay for our drinks she yelled to the cook not to make our food anymore so they were just starting to make our order after about an hour . I felt profiled , did they think we weren't going to tip after our meal? we were just hungry after a long day of work and we thought the steel mill would be delighted to serve us but they didn't look to happy to have us there and one we got the feeling we knew it was time to go. Soooooo glad we randomly checked out this place. My 2 friends and I rode the Duquesne Incline on a rainy Sunday in Pittsburgh, living our best touristy lives. We went to the observation deck to check out the views, and I just so happened to notice an "open for brunch" sign. I told that as the Lord telling us that we needed mimosas or drinks of any kind after riding around, up, down, and through the winding mountains of Pittsburgh. We went in to get our of the mist and were surprised to only see 2 other people in the whole place. Hoping we didn't make a terrible decision, we asked for menus and ordered drinks off the seasonal wall chalkboard menu. We couldn't have picked a better spot before we headed back home to Cleveland! That Chai Old Fashioned was soooo good. Can't wait to attempt to make it at home. We ordered entrees and apps to split and two cocktails each. Of everything we ordered, the only item I wouldn't get again was the fried deviled eggs. They had good flavor but I think the frying makes the whites a bit rubbery. Everything else was...chef's kiss! Great service, great view, good food. Took a group of 8 on a Tuesday evening. We were seated upstairs by the window overlooking the city! Happy hour went until 6:30 so we start with a round of cocktails and beer plus apps. The plain pierogies were ok. The fried deviled eggs were interesting and good. Our server, the lovely Lani with red haired ringlets, took our order. We opted for three appetizers: Deep fried deviled eggs, avocado bruschetta and reuben pierogies. Ok, the eggs were dry and weirdly fishy tasting. Also needed salt. The pierogies were okay and also needed salt which was unexpected due to the shaved corned beef that accompanied them. My favorite was the avocado bruschetta. Kind of full from the apps, I ordered a crock of French onion soup. What a let down. Needed salt & pepper, the cheese was barely melted, the onions were obviously not caramelized, just tossed in. Look, I know I'm not gonna get a bowl of French onion soup like a French restaurant at a place that serves bar food. We rode the Duqesne Incline and this place was conveniently located across the street. We were seated and given a huge menu. Pizza was the special for the night at 50% off the regular price. For apps we got the Fried Deviled Eggs and Firecracker Shrimp. The shrimp were a huge disappointment -- the breading kept falling off and I noticed that they didn't use fresh shrimp...they used previously cooked shrimp. It wasn't good at all. My friends really enjoyed the eggs though. The French Dip I ordered was good and my friends enjoyed their pizza. Staff was on their game when it came to service. read more

They cooked the meat well, about a medium or medium well, but it was still juicy and very flavorful. The patty is large and the burger isn't too bready. Cheese is a bit forgettable but still made for a nice classic burger. Would have liked more mushrooms. The fries they served on the side were very forgettable. Not that crispy. I was surprised by how little they seasoned the fries. If I had sauce, I'd douse them in sauce. You're also able to get sweet potato fries as a replacement, and maybe those are better. All in all, a solid place for some American food. Very nice location and pretty good food that is a bit on the expensive side. read more

We put our orders in a pretzel, a beer, a mimosa, grilled chicken sandwich, and a breakfast pizza The mimosa was warm and it tasted of nothing but juice. I didn't even finish it. The water my partner got literally was gross. Tasted like lead and brick. We finally get our food and there's literal MOLD on the bun of my partner's sandwich! We told the waitress they took it back and brung a fresh sandwich. But for a first time visit this really just put the cherry on top for us not coming back. We were gracious with everyone and didn't want to cause any issues but this is more than disappointing. The cook and the waitress did apologize. We ask for the check and get someone else's bill first and then we mentioned it to the waitress and she apologized and gave us our bill. They only gave us 50% off the chicken sandwich but not the tab. For this service it should've been 50% off the tab. Total came out to $60ish with tip and it definitely was not worth it. All and all not impressed. And really irritated I wasted my time. OH! My partner literally got sick on the way home, we had to pull over 20mins after leaving. My party of four visited Steel Mill Saloon today around 1:30 pm. We came by the Duquesne Incline looking for a restroom, and the front desk lady told us restrooms are only for customers. So, we decided to have lunch there. Despite being acknowledged by the front desk staff who said someone else would assist us, we waited over 20 minutes without any service. Meanwhile, other customers--who were all white--were promptly attended to, with multiple servers actively helping nearby tables and welcoming new guests. It felt clear that non-white patrons like us were overlooked and not considered customers. We ended up buying a bottle of water just to use the restroom and then left.
