It was the extraordinary service and food quality that made our evening at 11 most enjoyable.

Upscale restaurant. Hands down one of the best meals I've had, the husb agrees to this. Definitely a special occasion restaurant. We celebrated our 10yr anniversary here for dinner & it was definitely worth it. Unblemished ambiance & service. We were at the restaurant side- very chic & intimate. They have a casual tavern area along the bar on the other side. And an upstairs section. When you look up, there's an entire wall of huge wine selection. For cocktails we had the Cosmopolitan & Strawberry Smash-- both prepared great! Cosmos are usually a hit/miss situation for me; this was really good though- not too tart nor sweet-- very well balanced w/ a mild hint of vodka coming through, which after a few sips hits you in a nice, soft way. Husb said the Strawberry Smash was bangin!!-- the sibona amaro in it stabilized the fruitiness of the drink. For apps, we ordered the Calamari- it was soooo good & crispy/crunchy, I had to prevent myself from stuffing everything in my mouth! I was a bit sad I had to share this w/ my husb lol. It came with a hot & sour sauce w/ lemon which overall made the dish unique. For entree, I had the Scottish Salmon, came w/ scallops & I added crab cake to it. Succulent salmon was seared w/ great flavor, the sweet corn & pepper mixed in a tomato vinaigrette on the side under the scallops was just unbelievable. The crab cake was cut squared, hands down one of the best cakes. The flavor profile for the entire dish together in a bite was incomparable!! Definitely order this. Husb ordered the Gerber Farms Chicken, amish chicken served w/ risotto, greens on top of thyme jus (akin to a thin gravy). The chicken was cooked well-- juicy on the inside & a nice roast on the outside; the risotto wasnt heavy & didn't weigh the meal down, the thyme jus's flavor was subtle & it elevated the entire dish. For dessert, we got the Chocolate Hazelnut tart & Eleven Candy bar. I legit relished & inhaled the tart despite already being so full. Husb loved the Candy bar. A huge slice of brownie/caramel candy bar w/ chocolate mousse phew! The pics explain how mindblowin' everything was! A real one-of-a kind experience. Ron was great in explaining everything too. Preface.....this is the third time I've eaten here - each time was solely because it's the only Chase Sapphire restaurant in Pittsburgh, and the entire region. My experiences have not been high-end, perhaps more "tinfoil" than sapphire, to say the least....see below. That being said, it's proven to be a very middling experience each time, especially from a service standpoint. Each time has had mysterious delayed times to get waited upon, receive food and drinks, and every time has featured a mysterious disappearing item that we had to politely "remind" the server about after receiving the bill. On this occasion, we were offered to still receive a missing drink even though it was incredibly clear that we were ready to leave. One time, sure, but all three visits have had issues. This time, when the final bill was corrected, the math didn't seem to make sense - removing a $14 drink and the total came out $5 less. I'm being candid in saying instead of even dealing with the server once more, their tip corrected the discrepancy - no issues in dealing with the situation in that manner, given the sub-par service. Unacceptable and frustrating to have 3/3 times experiencing significant service issues. Food-wise, it's a solid "4" rating - salads have all been great, the dishes we'd recommend are the black cod and the short ribs. Good selection of semi-local beer and extensive wine list. It was noted that the menu had "changed" with the season, but the overall menu was 80% the same with some very subtle modifications - all over a two-year period. First time we went here, we sat at the tables above the bar area, and unfortunately there was a very bar-like smell that could be experienced throughout the meal (imagine having fine dining at the Rock Room on Polish Hill) - thankfully these other two times have been in the main dining area, on nights that haven't been very busy (adding to the frustration regarding the service notes above). Honestly, this is a legacy restaurant here in Pittsburgh, it's a shame that newer places with great food + service have a hard time launching in this environment. read more

Eleven is a restaurant I discovered last year and now have ate at three times since then, and each time I love it more than the last. I have not made it there for brunch or dinner yet because their happy hour alone keeps me coming back. The happy hour is one of the best I have experienced. It features $9 bites, $9 glasses of wine, and $9 cocktails. It is offered Monday through Friday from 4-6 PM, and the menu is easy to find on their website. One thing I love is that shortly after you are seated, you are welcomed with iced water and a plate of three different breads with butter. Every server I have had has been attentive, friendly, and consistently checks in to make sure you have everything you need without being overbearing. Each time the food has been absolutely delicious. Every dish has the perfect balance of flavor and presentation. The atmosphere and vibes are another reason I continue to return. Parking is also very convenient as they offer valet service. Absolutely loveddd this brunch! We did the price fixe brunch and got 3 courses. The oysters were an add on and were fresh and delicious. I loved the Bloody Mary - the pickled vegetable garnish was yummy. The lox was very well balanced. The omelette was probably my least favorite item - the egg to topping ratio was off for me...I like more topping than egg, but the bacon and potatoes were crispy and delicious. We just arrived in town to find the place we wanted to eat at closed early. So thankful ELEVEN had bar/tavern seating. This is a very eloquent and romantic vibe. We could even see some secluded seating up top. Our server was very friendly. We ordered some app and my wife and I wanted to split a burger, but we both wanted different cheeses. So our server had the chefs cut out burgers and prepare it with the cheeses we both wanted! The sticky toffee was very unique. Our only experience with it before was Gordon Ramsey's at his restaurant so this was such a unique flavor. When we visit the city again, we would definitely reserve a table in advance to enjoy the full menu. I will say, many upscale restaurant in the area are going to have higher priced plates. But I do feel their menu was more affordable compared to others downtown. read more

Made it to Eleven for happy hour and it was amazing! As an aside, you don't need a reservation for happy hour, seating is first come first serve. We got there right when they opened and the HH area was already so full. The HH food and drink selection is excellent. The standouts were definitely the pear and gin cocktail and the pork belly with sweet strawberry glaze. Yum. Service was good and the ambiance was nice. Potentially's Pittsburgh's most potent place to partake in a formal pig out. Eleven is polished, it's stylish, and prominent on the strip. The bar is cozy, yet large and glitzy. Very very hip, but also not - As it may be slightly more upscale than hip if that makes sense. Service is phenomenal, from check-in to drinks to waiters to servers. This is a great place to entertain and throw some money at the wall to see if it sticks. If it doesn't stick - Fine - You'll still have a lovely meal. As I mentioned in a prior review, I was in these Pittsburgh parts to chat, to brighten the mood and to lend some of my low-end very niche expertise when called upon in order to showcase my stature as a boy with potential to become a man. I selectively stoop myself down as to not fall from pride as my venture into Hamartia. Take yourself seriously, not too seriously, says a wise man named Linguini. I start blurting out a fat NY Italian accent. Really playing into my "roots." Folly into the youth of myself as to remind others of what they miss on the day to day. I subtly went into takeover mode as a few others couldn't hang nor could they entertain. I casually allowed everyone else to order as I respectfully decided not to fill my face in this fine establishment unless called upon to complete a plate. We basically tried everything on the menu so I have a true right to throw five stars. Tried every cheese. Scallops, crab cakes and the tartare were best apps, calamari solid as well. Of the salads I'd opt for whichever had the crème fraiche dressing. Of the entrees the standout was the short rib, but the strip steak did some business as did the black cod. We tried every single dessert as well. The candy bar was a crowd favorite, followed by the tart and toffee pudding. Now imagine this, all different taste buds across many differently lands (but not seas.) Everyone please with their meals. But does it really matter if they were? No. You care about if Linguini was pleased. Pleased I was. If I were to do it again, I'd drop the company - but keep the company card ya feel me? Real nice meal. Beautiful restaurant on the inside. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My boyfriend and I started off the night with a glass of wine. He got a Cab and I got a Moscato. Both were very good and well paired with our meals. For our appetizer we got the Calamari. It was very light and flavorful. Its was lightly fried in Rice Flour so it was actually Gluten Free. I have not been able to find Calamari Ina Gluten Free version anywhere so it was nice. I got the Strip Steak with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and house made Tater Tots. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. As for the tots and the potatoes not too much flavor there but there was some kind of jelly next to the steak and that made the flavor much better. My boyfriend got the Seafood Tasting and was super upset because they ran out of the Chilean Sea Bass and he was really looking forward to it. They did allow substitutes for that and the crab cake since it was not gluten free. All in all I think the restaurant was pretty satisfactory. I would rate a 7/10. It didnt wow me but it was nice to have Gluten Free Calamari and they did have a nice wine list and at the end they gave us a chocolate that was peanut butter and dark chocolate. Eleven on a scale of fifteen, is how I'd put this. And I'll round up to 4 out of 5 stars (know your fractions). We were part of a larger party (9 of us) and we were seated in the upstairs area, which was nice as it was probably more quiet than the downstairs area. The service was great. The waiter was attentive with drinks and taking orders and dealing with a bunch of people catching up with each other. Kudos to the waiter. Drinks were killer... I ordered the Anejo Old Fashioned and I love it. I usually switch things up and try other cocktails, but I stuck with these all night. I wasn't driving so why not? Great cocktail and others enjoyed theirs as well. I did try another diner's old fashioned and it was good as well. Don't tell them though! I also backwashed into it! ;) The appetizers were pretty great too. That tuna tartare was one of the best I've had. The fresh ginger was a nice addition and gave it the punch it needed. The calamari was also good with the sauce being a little different than most versions (not just sweet chili or marinara). For dinner, I had the seafood tasting which was a mixed bag. The scallop was perfect and in hindsight, I'd probably just get all scallops. The halibut was good, but nothing stood out about it. It was kinda just there as part of the meal. The crab cake was disappointing and I'm glad I didn't just get that as a meal (I thought about it). It was just mushy and needed some type of spice of flavor. If you're not using big pieces of crab, then make smaller crab cakes so there are more crispy parts. I'd definitely go back and try some of the other stuff based on the other reviews here. Eleven was quaint and elegant, and their menu matched the ambiance. The bread was SO GOOD! Our server brought our bread out at the beginning, gave us a run down of the different types, and told us we could ask for more at any point throughout the night, which we were sure to do! Their seasonal cranberry orange bread was so flavorful, and their classic focaccia was amazing! I ordered the braised short rib, which was accompanied by a bit of squash, Brussels, and gnocchi. The short rib was tender, and the accompanying sauce complemented it perfectly. We ordered the Chocolate Hazelnut Tart for dessert, which I wasn't a fan of. Have a very good and busy happy hour in the bar. We had dinner in the restaurant first floor which reminded me of a nice Dennys. Busy and no tablecloths. Booths have heavy traffic walking by you. Waiter seemed to care less. Filet was over cooked and waiter offered to put it on to cook more? Lobster pasta was pretty flovorless and very little lobster. Prices are high so go for happy hour and skip having dinner there, better places. read more

Go for happy hour if you want vibes and strong drinks. Their happy hour deals are quite good. I got a mussel dish and calamari dish. Everything on their menu is $9 (including food and drinks) for happy hour but you have to sit in the tavern/bar area. The calamari was fried with lemons and was dolloped with an aioli sauce. The bottom had a red mixture that cut the oiliness of the fried calamari; this was very good. The aioli was wayyyy too thick and too much. I had to scoop it out with a spoon. It would have been better if the creamy sauce was on the side. The mussels were plump and plentiful! The sauce on the bottom made it taste a bit like the sauce you get from a white wine clam pasta. The drinks are okay. I would say their only perk is their strength. Besides that, they're very typical and just okay (honestly just tastes like alcohol). The dining room is BEAUTIFUL. It almost feels like you enter a different area from outside to inside. The elevated ceiling and majestic decor on the walls with a mix of industrial touches. Gorgeous. The lighting is even elegant. Wait.. food... sorry this restaurant offers so much.. that food is still all the way down here. Like I said, they change the full menu every few months, so you may not even have these exact options. We started with a mocktail, the Cosmo-not, and a red blend wine that was perfection! They have a bread service. We had sourdough, focaccia, and apricot walnut breads. We ordered the Kale, Brussel Sprouts, and Pancetta Caesar Salad. The produce is soooo fresh and well prepared, but this pancetta Caesar vinaigrette was divine. I almost licked out the bowl to get every drop. We had the Beef Tenderloin and Braised Short Rib as entrees. The meat is just... yum!!! The sauces.. yum!! And the ornamental veggies and potato preparations... yum!! We split the Caramel Crème Brulee for dessert and added a single scoop of Sorbet (Mango-Coconut Lime). This is a hack... you don't need to order the trio. You CAN get a single scoop!! Don't skip desserts- they have an in-house pastry chef that makes all of these delights to order... and they are elegant!! You can even watch her at work through the windows outside. If the course by course is not enough, they pleasantly end the meal with a small chocolate from the pastry chef... today was S'mores. Smoky marshmallow, salty graham, and deep rich chocolate!! More tips: - Coat check is free... and maintains the elegance of the dining room. Normally I have a pretty good experience at Eleven so this is definitely an outlier. Seven of us sat in the tavern portion, which is the area with the bar, for happy hour/dinner. We got there around 5pm on a Wednesday. Here's the good and the bad: The good: The food at Eleven is always solid. Four of us got the Tavern burger and it's so good and very reasonably priced. It comes with delicious seasoned fries and the burger itself is excellent. We also enjoy the apps and got the mussels, calamari, pork belly, and crab cake, all of which were good. I also like how they have pretty reasonably priced happy hour deals with certain bites, wines, and cocktails being $9. The ambiance is upscale and nice although a little bit on the dark side. I got dessert and it was beautiful and a work of art in addition to being good. The bad: Our server, while reasonably nice, seemed to have multiple things going on. A couple of us noticed an unpleasant odor about him as well as the fact that his nose was very much so unwiped and he had an issue with very shaky hands, to the point where my friend's cocktails would spill over the sides of their glasses. This in itself is not a dealbreaker for me but everything that happened when we asked for our checks was a mess. Two of the group had to leave on the early side and so they asked for their checks. The happy hour deals were not reflected on the checks and one of my friends actually had the entirety of the table's items on her check so they both had to be fixed. At around 7pm the remaining five of us asked for our checks. We got our checks and put our cards in around 7:06pm. I wish I was exaggerating when I say that we waited almost entire hour to get our checks and cards back for FIVE people only for three of them to be completely wrong when they weren't initially wrong when we put our cards in the books. We were incredibly frustrated and had to wait for our server to come back to point out these incorrect bills. I then asked if there was anyone who could resolve this issue within the next few minutes because at this point it was around 7:50pm and we wanted to leave about an hour ago. A manager came over and voided the incorrect checks and re-rang them out and apologized. We saw at least one other table that had incorrect checks from our server and overall this service really soured our experience last night. I would come back to Eleven but if we had this same server again, I would ask to switch to another server. read more

We came here for dinner when I was pregnant and I was super picky about everything and I loved it so much. I had my baby shower here. We dined on the second floor, which was really cool because you overlook the main floor as well as have a decent view of the city-I'm nosey so that was ideal. We did the oysters and the meatballs. The oysters were good, I don't really remember anything about the meatballs. For the main, I got the salmon and I really enjoyed it. I appreciate that they source from local farms. For dessert, we had the candy bar and the sticky toffee pudding. I feel like I have seen such an uptick in sticky toffee puddings recently. This one was really good, I enjoyed both. read more

Eleven is one of the nicer restaurants in Pittsburgh if you want good ambiance and a more elevated dinner. The space has a modern industrial feel with high ceilings, warm lighting, and an open kitchen. It feels upscale without being stuffy. The appetizers are always strong and the menu changes a lot, but the bread service is honestly one of the best parts. The pecan date loaf is especially good. Their seafood starters are usually great too when they're on the menu. The drinks are well done. The cocktails are good and they have a big wine selection. The service is consistently friendly and attentive without being over the top. Some of their popular items include the ricotta cavatelli, the beef tenderloin, and the seafood tasting if it's available. The banana cream pie is also a really good dessert option. Overall it's a great place for a date night or a special dinner with good food, good drinks, and a really nice atmosphere. I come with friends often! read more

We've had a lot of "team building" nights here! Love coming here for happy hour weekdays 4:30-6:30pm. Great deals for food and drinks. The service is always friendly and attentive. The only reason I knocked one star is the prices are not worth it outside of happy hour. The vibe is slightly more... adult? Corporate? Mildly fancy? I would not come here in athlesuire as you wouldn't fit in. However the staff would still be kind and accommodating; they're never been pretentious. Important to note you can only get the happy hour offerings on the bar side. Do not make a reservation for that. read more

I recently re-visited Eleven for brunch on a Sunday morning. We made a reservation for 11 AM. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and quickly seated. I decided to go with the brunch prix fixe which is $39 and it includes a choice of appetizer, entree, and a choice of fresh juice or brunch cocktail. It's a great deal! My brunch mocktail was the "puttin on the spritz" which includes Dhos bittersweet, Dhos orange, lemon, and soda. For my appetizer, I ordered the street corn Caesar salad which is little gem lettuce, sweet corn, creamy Caesar dressing, lime, cotija cheese, rustic croutons, and smoked paprika. I am still dreaming of that salad; it was so good! For my entree, I chose the eggs Benedict. As always, they send out complimentary baked goods that are made in house. Eleven has always been one of our favorite Big Burrito restaurants. The service is upscale and it is such a comfortable place to have dinner. Sometimes the menu is a challenge for me. I had a great experience at Eleven. We made a reservation for 11am on a Sunday. When we arrived we did valet parking. It is $6 which is cheaper than finding parking in any of the lots. Our waitress was great! So nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the Brunch Prix Fix which is $39 for an appetizer, entree and a cocktail. That deal is worth every penny. I ordered a mimosa, the quiche and a burger. The quiche was SO good. I would order that any day of the week. The burger was good, I will probably try a different entree next time. The omelette looked really good! The restaurant is very clean and the fireplace upon entry is so warm. I will definitely be back for another brunch in the future. read more

Was in town for work and had dinner with a couple of colleagues. We had the tuna tartare, calamari and seafood tasting for starters. Both were very good. I had the prime strip steak for my main and it was extremely tender and cooked just right. The restaurant was very nice and our server Anna was excellent. 4.5 stars. I had a reservation made for the Saturday after the fourth of July and they seated us prompted at a nice corner cushioned table. We enjoyed the bread basket that had 3 or 4 types of house-made breads, and my cocktail was strong and enjoyable. They had plenty of non-alcoholic options for my partner as well. My salmon was perfected cooked and my partner enjoyed the seafood sampler entree. All in all it was a great meal, though there was nothing particularly standout or creative. Id come back next time though if they featured some spring foraged ingredients like some of the other reviews reflect. read more

Loved this spot! It has a sleek, modern vibe with outdoor seating and such a friendly, welcoming staff. Our waiter was amazing. The cranberry sourdough bread was incredible perfectly baked and so good with the butter. Drinks were delicious and balanced (definitely recommend trying a cocktail here!). For food, the pasta was rich and comforting, and the steak was cooked to perfection tender, juicy, and beautifully presented with onions and greens. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made.
