I decided to take myself here after a particularly long day at work. The bars happy hour specials are amazing, I was able to get 2 drinks for the price of 1! The Strawberry Pretzel Salad cocktail was amazing- the crushed pretzels really made it. I also got the California 75 which was a cute twist on a classic French 75. As my nephew would say "this place is buns". Now, is that a good thing? A bad thing? Depends on your definition of "buns". We came in for an early dinner on Saturday 8/29/26 around 5pm before a show at Heinz Field (yes, I KNOW it's Acrisure Stadium - it will always be Heinz Field). This place is packed. As expected. Nowhere to sit, every single table was full. When a party finally left we snagged the dirty table that was never cleaned while we were there. We tried to get food from Mijo but were told before we ordered it would be a ln hour wait for food. We had the time but wasn't sure we wanted to wait that long. We grabbed a couple beers from the bar and the wait wasn't long. The bartender was not terribly pleasant, but he was buried and there were some other patrons that were not being patient or kind. It is REALLY loud - as expected, concrete floors, wood tables and metal chairs, high ceilings and nothing to dampen the sound. All of that said - it's a great space. All the food we saw looked great and we Will definitely be back at some point. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. On the plus side, it's a really nice concept to have a large, open-seating eating venue within walking distance of so many North Shore attractions. I went there with a small group of families/kids after an outing at the Children's Museum; it was great to be able to walk over to an easy lunch that was better than the museum cafe. We'd probably come back just for this convenience. But I can also see how Federal Galley could have a sports bar feel when a Bucco or Steeler game is going on nearby. That said, the food was just ok. Portions were huge, but the dishes were kind of basic with a ton of sauciness/goopiness. My burrito from Mijo had a ton of chicken but not much in terms of beans and rice and no veggies or garnishes. My wife got a huevos rancheros bowl that just had mountains of sauce; it filled her up, made her very thirsty, and made a huge mess. I went here with a large group, and it was perfect! There was a solid variety of options, plenty of table space, and self serve water. I highly recommend ordering ahead of time online, that's what I did. I got the Jalapeño popper burger and it was so good. I also got a sour beer, and the pretzel salad cocktail. I recommend their cocktails, although they are small they're so unique! I loved mine, just wished there was more of it. Current restaurants include TS Cafe, Beef Graffiti, Mijo, and Given to Fly. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Customers sit at a table of their choosing and scan a QR code on the table to order their foods and drinks. Employees from each business bring the foods and drinks to the table. When customers are done eating, employees clean the table. My husband and I ate one dinner here. The employees from the kitchens promptly and politely served us. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Beef Graffiti's Smashie burger - 4 stars - This burger was not greasy, and its accompanying fries were not soggy. They were decent. Mijo's Street Taco Entree - 4 stars - We ordered three flavors of tacos: Al Pastor with Pineapple (which my husband described as "good" and "best"), Carne Asada, and Shrimp. The sides were plain rice and beans. Usually my husband loves rice and beans, but he called these ones "interesting" and "bad." We took a chance on Federal Galley because it was walking distance from our Airbnb. When we arrived, we were surprised to see how many available tables there were. It may have been less busy due to the Savannah Bananas being in town. There are different kitchens throughout the venue and a big bar in the center. I ordered a Buffalo Cauliflower Hoagie from TS Cafe. After we scanned the QR and paid, it was brought out to our table by one of the employees. He eventually walked back over with a small cup of ranch because he forgot to drizzle it on top of my hoagie. The cauliflower was crispy, seasoned perfectly and the sauce wasn't too spicy. The cucumber slices were a nice touch. Fries were hot and thin. Just how I like them. I ordered a beer separately from the bar. I saw a bunch of folks in the area walking their dogs, going for a run, and even what appeared to be a first date happening here. Came on a Wednesday night with a group of 13, which was great as each person could choose what type of food they wanted and then bar was serving for those who wanted to drink. Great space with lots of large tables for groups or communal dining. There are water stations so you can grab a bottle of water, glasses and silverware for your table. Lots of delicious food options. We stopped by at 4:30pm on Friday and were able to claim a large table for all our friends. I like the convenience of ordering via QR code. They bring you whatever food or drinks you order to your table and you get your own water, cupcakes, napkins, and utensils. Their happy hour is 4:30-6:30 on weekdays and the half off cocktails portion is an absolute steal. They also have some happy hour food specials at certain places and they do have kids meals. It's nice that they have four concepts in one place so everyone can find something they want to eat. The only critique I have is that it can take a minute for your cocktails to come out. It was also very strange that we got a round of drinks and then when we ordered a second round someone asked us all to see our IDs even though it was a little too late at that point. read more

I love this concept. It's great to have multiple food options so there's something for everyone, even the pickiest member of the group. My one criticism is that there wasn't enough staff to clean off the tables in between diners when I visited most recently. Channeling my days as a McDonalds employee, I cleared off trash, grabbed a spray bottle and towel from the nearest bussing station, and wiped down a table so my group had a place to sit. I don't think that's part of the draw. Other than that, no complaints. read more

A place like the federal galley is such a good spot for work gatherings. A variety of options and a perfect environment for socializing and not being too structured. Our group sat outside and there was enough space for about 20 of us to socialize at 2 long tables. The service was efficient and kind and the eats yummy. Will definitely be back for larger group gatherings that doesn't need to be too complicated. Parking is kind of challenging but we were lucky enough to get street parking where others in our group had to park a good ways away in a garage. Just allow time to drive around if you have goals for nearby street parking. read more

This place is one of my favorite food halls. I love how they offer delicious food options from local businesses. I've been here several times with my girlfriend and I really enjoy the Buffalo Seitan sandwich from Given to Fly. It's not easy finding seitan meals in the city so I love that there is a chicken alternative for vegetarians! Aisha is a big fan of Sokah which is a Caribbean BBQ restaurant. There is also a bar that has so many specialty cocktails and beer. Each restaurant also has brunch options on the weekends so be sure to check this place out either for dinner or brunch! Stopped by Federal Galley today. Andrew had the Oklahoma onion Smashburger from beef graffiti 4.5 's. Burger was flavorful and the fries were perfectly done. I got the Crab Rangoon Fries from Given To Fly, the presentation was 5 's but the taste was more like 2.5 's. It was mainly cream cheese and lacked crab. It would be a great appetizer to split with 5+ people, I don't recommend it as a meal on its own lol. We are excited to go back and try more here! read more

I went with the taco place (Mijo) and ordered their 3 taco plate (2 chicken tacos and a shrimp taco). The tacos were honestly terrible (but I come from Cali with arguably the best Mexican food in the states). The corn tortillas were super oily and falling apart, and the meats were really dry and they didn't give much. The fixings were practically nonexistent and it was just a really bland, dry, and greasy taco. This place could be so much more with a few more establishments. The pulled pork sandwich that I had was delicious and the fries were good. The side of Mac & cheese was not very good and I wouldn't order that again. Venue: it was very busy but there is plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. The space was very clean. Walked there from where I was staying so not sure how easy it is to get parking nearby. Service: The bartenders were very friendly and the drinks came out right away. Went to the Federal Galley after attending an event at the New Hazlett theater (walking distance). Of the four restaurants in the Galley, we went to "Given to Fly". Their specialty is chicken (menu attached). I ordered the 3 tenders tossed in buffalo sauce with small fry for $16 (picture attached). It was incredible. The food was delicious. Some of the best chicken fingers I have ever had. The portion was extremely generous. I highly recommend this restaurant and this dish. If you haven't been here yet or know the concept, this is a food hall with 4 different restaurants and communal seat yourself seating. Not much inside ambiance but nice in the summer when they have the outside open. Come for the food and check out these up and coming future restaurateurs. read more

I have been meaning to try out Federal Galley for years now, so I got a group of my girlfriends together and we gave it a shot. All in all, I really enjoyed my time here. The happy hour, on Tuesdays through Fridays from 4:30-6:30, is one of the best around. All beer, wine, and cocktails are half off! With that said, our drinks were delicious! We also loved the different options of restaurants to choose from. Overall, our favorites were the pizza place and the soft pretzel. There is a decent amount of seating as well. Thankfully it was nice out, so we were able to sit outside at one of the picnic tables, but it did get busy. The bartenders were very kind, and each different restaurant's employees were as well. The place as a whole is a super cool concept. I think it's safe to say that we will be back! read more

We went on a Saturday around 2:00 PM for lunch. We ordered the Crab Rangoon fries at Given to Fly. Not worth it at all. The fries were $19, they came out lukewarm. The 'filling' was clumped on top with like an ice cream scooper, not spread around at all. If the fries were hot maybe it would have helped to make the filling edible but that wasn't the case for us. We (two of us) didn't even finish the one order of fries (pictured below). I wouldn't order these ones again if they were $5 instead of $19. We also ordered the PBR (pepperoni banana pepper ricotta) Detroit style pizza. It looked amazing when it came out but was also $19 for 6 slices. Please keep in mind I don't typically order Detroit style pizza so maybe that's fair. It was okay but I probably wouldn't order it again. It's definitely filling though, enough for two people or maybe three if you're not too hungry. It was good other than the ricotta being weirdly whipped which was the only thing I didn't like. I guess to sum up, it was fine. The galley wouldn't be my first choice for a food hall in Pittsburgh but I could understand why locals come here. The general vibe of the galley is super cute though. We're so lucky to have an incubator like Federal Galley. It's fun seeing what restaurants come there. It's great they're given a shot there first before giving it a shot on their own. My mom and I really enjoyed the shrimp po boy at Salute. You get lots of shrimp and the bread and fries are very good. My husband really likes Mijo. He really liked his pork carnitas tacos. I got the beef Birria taco and thought it was pretty good. My husband and I both really like the chicken place. He loved the chicken tenders and waffle fries. I loved the chicken sandwich. The drinks from the bar are always great too. Next time, I want to try the Detroit Style pizza. You can't go wrong with the options there. It can be intimidating as there's not really direction when you first arrive, but worth the awkward discovery phase! Federal Galley is an awesome place to go dine. It is set up like a food court, with a bar in the middle you can order drinks from! Each individual restaurants (there are 5 I believe) offer everything from Mexican food, to American fare like burgers, to fried chicken, salads, fish etc. I ordered from the fried chicken stall and my food was phenomenal! Freshly made to order, nothing staged or sitting under a heat lamp. The bartenders were awesome and cheery. My son was with us and even though there is alcohol served here all of the patrons were kind and polite. No drunken riff raff. The dining area is set up like cafeteria seating where you just grab a table anywhere and eat. There are waiters who will also bring food/drinks to you and collect your dishes after you are done. The restrooms were also clean and well maintained. This is a great family friendly place or if a group of friends wanna hang out have a few drinks and chat. There's food options for everyone here, so you're not stuck picking 1 restaurant where everyone in your group might not want to eat the same thing.. I will definitely be back! read more

If you have pretty indecisive friends or you can't decide what you wanna eat, this is the perfect spot for you. They got all kinda options from burgers to poke. The seating is first come first serve. We went on a weekday so there was plenty of seats available. We chose to sit outside and it was super chill. You order then they ask you what table you are at to deliver your food. I personally had the poke (spicy tuna) and my friend had sweet and spicy Shrimp. I thought my food was good but my friend said his meal was not sweet or spicy but wait it was too salty. A couple of my other friends had the pizza and burger and they seemed to be happy with it. So again, this is a great place for a variety of taste buds. read more

I visited this space earlier today to try a beer while walking my dog. I am well aware that dogs aren't allowed inside most establishments with food, so I intended to order and have my drink outside. While waiting to order a woman approached me and stood so close to me that she was stepping on my toes. Now again, I completely understand wanting to convey the idea that I can't have my drink indoors with my dog, but considering the abundance of chairs outside and the fact that its the season where a host of highly contagious viruses are in full force...maybe give me a few inches if not feet of space while you yell at me that I can't have my dog indoors? I kindly told this woman that I simply wanted to order and I would gladly take my drink outside. I'm not begging that this space be dog friendly, but I am begging PLEASE maybe stand an appropriate distance from people? Being so close reads as aggressive. That being said, I hope to visit again.
