A neighborhood favorite with a solid burger. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and it was very good. I upgraded to onion rings and they were good, but a little on the dark side ( burnt). The waitress was super cheery and nice. We all said we'd have water but after one sip I decided to order a beer. It was pretty bad. But the Stella Artois was great. This is one of our favorite places in Greentree! We live within walking distance so it's very convenient for us! It's a cute spot right with a chill vibe for all ages. A wooden, older feel with excellent service. They are open everyday but Sundays! They have the BEST Buffalo chicken salad EVER.. It's my favorite and go-to. The ranch is YUM. Alex loves the G.T.I Burger and is a huge fan! Tonight, we tried the mini crab cakes for an appetizer and WOW. We both agreed they were the best crab cakes we've had, this isn't an exaggeration. I'd go here and recommend the CC to anyone. Our waitress, Stephanie was AMAZING. She was so polite, super friendly and funny. She was helpful with any questions we had! I met a coworker for lunch here and was not disappointed. We chose this restaurant because we saw that it had a parking lot which is always a plus in the area. This place definitely has an old feel to it, which I always enjoy. We sat at the bar and had a drink before we ordered our lunch. The bar was pretty big. We were comfortable enough there to have our lunch. The bartender was very nice and was attentive to us throughout our time there. She gave us menus to look over their selection. Just had the worst dining experience ever. The server was extremely inhospitable, and downright rude! Our order was screwed all up. I ordered seafood linguini with a spicy red sauce, I got a red clam sauce with a couple long hot peppers, when I told her it was wrong, she yelled back that she told them it was red sauce, like it was my fault. I asked for grated cheese and water, never came. We had our apps and salad before our drinks ever came, and the owner hung out with his buddies behind the bar the whole time. Even after we read our server the riot act. It cost us $100 and we weren't given any service. Oh and she told us we had to tip prior to us running the credit card. We live 2 minutes away and would be regulars, but this place just sucks. I'm amazed they are still in business. read more

My gf, her father and I stopped in last night for a quick bite and a drink. Our waitress Chelsea was phenomenal and went above and beyond for us. The meal was great and very fairly priced. Thank you to chef John for the great food. We decided to move to the bar for a nightcap after dinner. Our bartender Taylor was warm and friendly and made us some great drinks. Many choices for a great Italian-American lunch! My office orders from here once a week and we are never disappointed. Their French onion soup is one of the best around and they have a great chicken noodle too, however the noodles are long like spaghetti so it's a bit messy to eat. Just ate there for the first time in YEARS...like 30 years! But, dang it was DELICIOUS. The Roquefort salad dressing is majorly chunky and delicious. Had the chick Romano that was amazing. Honestly, if I could give zero stars, I would. We went here to have casual family dinner after hearing people talk about the takeout options. Upon arrival, we were greeted by someone wearing very dirty clothes, and the restaurant was even dirtier... broken windows, dust everywhere, carpet matted down with dirt, etc. We ordered drinks and our water glasses were dirty. We have a young kid, so I always wipe down the table when we sit down. I went through THREE wipes and each one was crusty and disgusting. At that point, we left a generous tip for the waitress (not her fault), and we left without eating. We've honestly never done that before, but if the front of house was that dirty, we had no delusions that the kitchen would be better. Seems like this place has a decent amount of regulars who have been coming for 30 years or so, probably around the time that they last cleaned. read more

I came to Aracri's with a friend on a Friday afternoon for lunch and had a great experience. I've worked in Greentree for 7 years and finally tried this pace out! The inside of the restaurant had a "older" vibe to it and even had a old school register in the front. The host and waitress was super nice. Our food arrived promptly and was delicious. I had a club sandwich that was great! The chicken noodle soup was also different as they serve theirs with very fine noodles! This is the second time I've been here. I want to love it because it's close to my office and the inside is old school but also kinda retro cool. Either that, or I'm just getting old. The high ceilings with all the wood and lights makes it look appealing and comfortable. Others in my party had been more recently and had said the food was fine previously. But I thought the food was just blah! I had the chicken club and fries for lunch. The breaded chicken was super thin and crispy. Some people may like that but I could hardly taste the chicken. The bacon was just ok. It was cooked to my liking but almost tasteless. Which is sad for bacon. Also the chicken, and the fries, basically anything fried had a faint fish taste. I think they used the same oil to cook everything. The waitress was nice, but seemed to be the only one there, so she got busy. Feeling peckish on the day before Easter, Kay and I utilized our holidays from our respective jobs to get some shopping done and to get lunch at a place I'd been neglecting to try, one that I've flew past more times than I know. High ceilings, olden decor, antiques, and wooden beams caught my eye as I entered this 45 year old establishment, as did the portly gentleman(owner? manager? head cook?) wearing a deep blue t-shirt emblazoned with the visage of Walter Sobchak. Minutes after we were seated, we saw someone dressed as Walter Sobchak. As luck would have it, a screening of Joe and Ethan Coen's cinematic tour de force "The Big Lebowski" was taking place with many of our fellow, good-natured diners impersonating the quirky film's various characters. And this dude abided. Starting us off was a helping of Aracri's "famous" Onion Rings, and they have a right to be famous considering their lightly battered, fried-to-bronze, not-overly-oily properties. Considering we weren't out of the Lenten forest just yet, I decided to stay on Jesus' good side (And I ain't talkin' about Mr. Quintana. What would The Dude, do, anyway? He'd screw up like me and have lamb and chicken on Good Friday, testin' the Christman as if he'd really care if he walked the Earth today...) and order the Crab Cakes. Broiled expertly, served with tartar sauce, and generously stuffed with jumbo lump, each cake was as moist as a pumpkin pie, and neither possessed much in the way of filler. The french fries were a bit limp and dark, a tell-tale sign that they were merely blanched once in boiling fat that was in need of being changed. Also had was something emblematic of Middle America, a salad I hadn't eaten in a few years and never in a restaurant. An Iceberg Wedge Salad complete with bleu cheese dressing (not my favorite, but it was the only choice I was given) and bacon bits. For burps and chuckles I ordered it an was surprised at how much enjoyment I gained from breaking it down, making sure each forkful of fresh lettuce arrived in my mouth coated in the biting, milky dressing and fatty, crunchy, briny bacon, the tragically unheralded and sometimes derided salad succeeding through simplicity and tradition. Dessert was a pecan ball slathered in whipped topping from a plastic tub and hot fudge that was irradiated in a glass jar (Smuckers be thy name?). It quelled my angry sweet tooth and little more. Aracri's is one of those venerable suburban restaurants that deserves its longevity and its continued business, thriving on the standards and ignoring that which is trendy and new. P.S. Wouldja believe I've never seen "The Big Lebowski" in its entirety? I guess I need to get on that. We checked this place out because it was close to our hotel and it was one of the few non-chain restaurants we saw. The service was very friendly. The food was just okay. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo with lump crab and they said the sauce is freshly made in house, but it sincerely tasted like it was out of a bottle. It wasn't tasty/fresh enough to have been over $20. The salad was just the typical iceberg lettuce salad. read more

Came in here just reading some reviews, figured, I'll give it a shot, they were good. I walked in to an empty restaurant and was worried, but the owner Frank was there to greet me and how pleasant he was. He saw the concern on my face and brought me over to family pictures showing how long the restaurant has been in business and has been a success. So, not knowing what to order, because so many things looked yummy, he suggested the Pork Chop Florentine, OMG!!! DELICIOUS!!! AND he prepared it himself! I definitely, highly, recommend dining here when in the Pittsburgh/Greentree area. The reason for 4 starts not 5, the wine choices are lacking but the Red Rock Malbec was nice with the meal. I wasn't sure about it when I first saw the building. It looks dated from the outside, but the interior was interesting, with old wood and heavy/sturdy tables and booths that seem to be particular to a certain type of Italian restaurant. It seems to be geared toward an older crowd, and it wasn't busy on a Monday evening. I was also concerned when I saw a big cobweb in one of the corners of the lobby and more cobwebs on picture frames at the hostess station. Fortunately the dining room and bathroom were clean. The food was good. We had fried zucchini to start and rigatoni for our entrees. The salads were fresh, and the poppy seed rolls were good. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly. Portions were big; I brought some home. I ordered a mule and only tasted ginger beer and lime; there didn't seem to be any vodka in it, but the bill said that it had Stoli. Disappointing for $8.50. My husband's dark and stormy had noticeable liquor. It was reasonably priced and the service was pretty good. We had a good experience overall. read more

The "pasta" side however looked like it was something you'd give a kid, with some red sauce which i do not like, dumped on top. I was thinking I'd get a linguini style pasta! I admire this and always try to give my business to local family run places like this . I travel a lot and one of the few benefits of that lifestyle is the opportunity to visit local restaurants. I usually stay away from places with less than 8 cars in the parking lot but there wasn't really any other place to eat aside from an Olive Garden, which isn't really food IMHO. I decided to stop in and get my meal to go as I was fresh off of a construction site and my attire did not match the surroundings or the current clientele. I ordered a shrimp scampi appetizer and a fettucini fro diavlo. When I got the food back to the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find the order well packed with a salad and even a dinner roll. On a spontaneous drive from the Tanger Outlets, we took an exit, said that we'd stop at the first place we both hadn't eaten before. And Aracri's was the first place on the drive that we both hadn't dined at previously. Before being seated, we were able to glance at the menu and there was a wide range of things to order. It was almost a mix of fine dining and tavern eats. Our waitress seated us and helped us make decisions. There was a party occurring at a table in the middle of the floor while others were seated at booths including us. I was stuck between ordering the Blue Cheese Burger and Fish Sandwich, which our waitress recommended the burger accompanied by a glass of Pinot Noir. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken salad with a 22oz. Miller Light. My burger was pretty good. The fries that came with it were so fried crisply I thought they were sweet potato fries. The food wasn't amazing but it was good. Our waitress was great however; she periodically checked in and was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere made for a good place to have deep conversation over drinks. If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I can't say that I won't stop by again for a bite to eat and some drinks. read more
