Everything was delicious! It's such a cute little eatery, service is always quick, and the food is top notch. The price for the portions is one of the best in the city!

I heard great things about the Italian food at Legends and had to try it for myself. When we arrived, it wasn't busy at all, which I liked. The inside is cute and cozy, and the menu is simple and straightforward. Our waitress was friendly, shared the specials of the day, and provided excellent service. We ordered a pizza as an appetizer, and I got the chicken Parmesan along with the red velvet cake. The entree and appetizer came out hot, fresh, and satisfying. The portions are on the heavier side, so I had to take some home. I'm so glad I came as this place lived up to my expectations. I'll definitely be back. By the way, you can bring your own alcohol here.

Penne ala vodka was tasty and a nice sized portion. The greens and beans were my fav and I think it's possibly because of one of the greens in the mix. Not bad just not my fav. Their salads that come with entree are small and the ranch wasn't traditional.

Came in with some family and had a absolutely lovely meal of gnocchi bolognese, delicious. Comfortable inside decked with Steelers memories and really good service. No complaints.

This was my first time for my friends birthday. It was so cute and homey. The food came out hot and fresh and everything was great. I absolutely will be back to try more!

We had a wonderful dinner at Legends on a supposed to be eventful night. We had reservations for a Wednesday before a concert, but the concert was canceled. We decided to keep our reservations, and I am so glad we did! We had arancini and a pizza for an appetizer. The bread along with the arancini was so tasty! The pizza was good not great...try something else at this amazing establishment. My husband and I shared two dinners. We shared the penne vodka and the shrimp pasta...both were delicious! We can not wait to go back and try something other dishes

Legends probably doesn't need another glowing review, and maybe I just had a little more BYOB wine with my meal, but I feel the need to gush a bit. Since we discovered this place several years ago, it's been one of our go-to places on trips to Pittsburgh. Attentive servers, excellent ingredients, intriguing specials, and standard favorites make dining here a place where anyone can find the dinner of comfort and joy. Tonight we enjoyed the crispy polenta with roasted red peppers and sweet Italian sausage in a garlic aioli as a warm up. Those greens and beans are always perfect too and are standard fare on the menu. You may save room for house made desserts, though I wouldn't count on it, since you'll need a lot of spare space, as their portions are hefty. Eating at Legends always leaves me with a warm, fuzzy feeling, and I'm sure it's not just the wine.

Legends Eatery opened in 2002 and serves old-school Italian-American cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Its menu lists appetizers such as mussels and meatballs, entrees such as veal parmigiano and fettuccini alfredo, and desserts such as fried cannolis and chocolate cake. The restaurant serves beverages such as sodas, coffees, and teas but is BYOB for alcohol. The restaurant's website recommends making a weekend reservation at least two weeks in advance, so I instead ordered food through their website for pickup. After 24 minutes, the restaurant emailed me that my food was ready. The restaurant is located near Allegheny General Hospital and appears to have limited parking, so my husband dropped me off and drove around the neighborhood while I went inside the restaurant to pick up the food. An employee immediately and kindly greeted me, handed over my bag of food, asked if I needed any utensils, and thanked me. Here are my reviews for my foods: Penne blackened shrimp ~ $21 - 4.5 stars - The penne pasta was cooked well, and it was topped with delicious shrimp, cherry tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, oil, and garlic. On the side were a small salad with my choice of balsamic dressing and an add-on of a few small slices of focaccia bread. Caesar salad ~ $18 - 3.5 stars - The mixed greens, olives, red peppers, and cheese were very fresh. I had not ordered chicken, but the restaurant included chicken. Caesar dressing was in separate containers. Meatball parm sandwich ~ $17 - 3 stars - My husband ordered this hoagie, and he ate only half of it. The hoagie roll was from Breadworks, and it contained large meatballs, cheese, and sauce. On the side was a small salad with mixed greens, carrots, onions, cucumbers, cheese, and my husband's choice of ranch dressing. Mozzarella ~ $10 - 3 stars - Large triangular chunks of mozzarella cheese were fried, and my husband ate most of them. On the side was marinara sauce. I also had ordered a 6.75-ounce bottle of Perrier for ~ $6, but I did not have a bottle opener to open it, so I saved it for later.

I love Legends. It's a very small place with a homey feel. The staff are all super nice and willing to explain anything. I've never had anything bad here. My go-to is the spinach ravioli, which is simple but so delicious and a very good portion. There desserts are insane. Trust me, you need to get one (or multiple) even if you are full and know you will have leftovers because their cake slices are ginormous. It can be hard to get in here because of the limited seating, but so worth it.

My friend and I had dinner at Legends on a Tuesday night before attending an event in the area. I've visited several times in the past with older family members, and the crowd during our visit this time around matched that same demographic. I ordered the penne vodka (with plenty to take home) that came with my choice of wedding soup. My friend ordered the mozzarella small plate as her meal. We had no problem finding a table on a Tuesday night around 5:30pm, but I would recommend a reservation if wanting to visit during a peak time as it is a small dining area. Also note that it's BYOB.

Legends is always a great choice! It's BYOB with a cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. We went on a Wednesday night and had one of the best gnocchi dishes I've had in a long time--they make them by hand! The bolognese sauce was perfect, and we started with a tasty pastini soup (daily special). Ideal spot for a date night! Only thing I'd note is that they gave us water cups for the wine instead of wine glasses, which threw me off a bit (I'm particular about my stemware!).

Family owned delicious Italian foods & dessert restaurant located in the North Side. This restaurant is BYOB, highly recommend reservation if you're going on the weekend- they have a very small bar area that's open seating. The most fresh and incredible pasta! Their coconut cream pie is to die for!!!

I have been wanting to try Legend's for a long time, several years now. And, I finally did it. I tried a pretty solid range of items: the penne vodka, apple pie, house made focaccia bread, and side salad. Let's start with the main course, the penne vodka. I've actually never had this dish before, but I thought it was very well made! The portion was definitely adequate, and it was clearly high quality. It's quite creamy, and doesn't taste like vodka at all. A tad bit of sweetness to it too. There's not much prosciutto, and it was all just kind of one clump in the bottom of the pasta, but it was still good. The side salad served complimentary with it was actually surprisingly good. Not just lettuce and cucumbers like in many other places. They had carrots, onions, spinach, blue cheese, and a very tasty ranch. The ranch, while very good, had a sort of grainy-ness to it, in texture. Other than that, fresh and very good! The little pieces of bread were also a lovely complimentary treat. I believe they are made in house, and I loved them. They'd be even better with a little oil (and I think they do have that option as an appetizer). Finally, the caramel apple pie. It was good, but a bit of a let down. The crust was kind of flavorless, and there wasn't really a strong caramel flavor to it. It was still good, and a great serving (although also pretty expensive), but not the best I've had. All in all, a very good, quantity, little Italian spot on the North side. Great spot for celebrations and high quality food. I would recommend!

Very simple, no extra effort given beyond the output of a classic italian dish. Each plate proportionately could have fed two people so it felt like we were eating for four. We both left full, but underwhelmed with the flavor profiles rendered. Service: Overall our waitress was pretty absent, having asked us how we were doing only twice, leaving little room for any comments or feedback to be offered. She recognized her absence and offered us a surprise tiramisu (complimentary) to make up for the lack of attentiveness to our table. Seating: A large bar stretches the restaurant accompanied by wooden chairs, tables and a few booths tucked against the parallel wall. The seating is not tight, meaning you have space between yourself and other parties but the wooden chairs/tables were uncomfortable. In 2026, we just expected a little more from a restaurant charging $20+ for pasta plates. Affordability: If you're going out for drinks and an appetizer, you might be able to sneak your bill in for under $50, but otherwise forget it. Each plate is $20+ with options on the wine list reaching as high as $200+ ... We wouldn't describe this atmosphere as fancy, but the prices are trying to be. The venue is beautifully decorated and though it's small, they do a nice job with spacing of the tables for all the guests they can accommodate at once. They are also BYOB, but offer a QR code for a neighboring wine shop who will deliver any bottle you select and pay for via the QR code at your table - This is great because they don't charge a corking fee when you do this, but if you do bring your own, they charge a modest corking fee, I think $8. Their menu is excellent... it's filled with so many appetizing options! We started with their stuffed peppers - OMG, EXCELLENT!! Any time I'm in the Pittsburgh area I need to try a few things, this being one of them. These were probably some of the best I've ever had! The sauce was finely ground and really flavorful. The peppers were perfectly cooked to keep their beauty and texture and they were spicy too! We also requested a large order of their table bread and asked for a side of EVOO with it. I sprinkled grated pecorino and freshly ground red chili flakes into the EVOO to make an incredible dipping sauce which worked perfectly with that bread! For my entrée I enjoyed their amazing Spinach Tagliatelle which came perfectly presented and tasted amazing! The spinach was perfectly cooked to the proper texture and the sauce was so good I didn't mind it having eggplant in it (which I hate). Save room for dessert, their panna cotta was great! Overall, the entire experience was very nice, I'd definitely return!

We got the smoked gouda and nduja pizza & scallop mezzaluna (with the latter as part of their new year menu). Honestly, the pizza was way better than I expected, I'd say the best of these two dishes. It was thin but well flavored with the gouda, tad spiciness (or rather kick) from the salami, and creaminess of the roasted squash. I don't normally like white pizza nor squash on my pizza(?), but this tasted rather good and unique! The scallop mezzaluna was as if the scallop was a ravioli filling. So the dish came with 9 half moonish pasta/raviolis served in a very simple sauce of lemon and processo. It was okay, my first time trying something like this but I wish there was more or had an oomph to it. I'd love to come back here and try more of their pizzas!

Spoiler: it's not the name. Clean, clear, smells like any other bourbon until that first sip reveals just how perfectly blended it is. The kind of drink you savor while watching the sun set on the horizon. Crème Brûlée Espresso Martini - As my heart rate settled from the first drink I needed something to kick it back up. One sip and I could've read the dictionary cover to cover without blinking. Close your eyes and the aroma takes you straight to that first cup of coffee fresh out of the pot. Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Martini - Beautiful presentation but flatter in flavor than the previous two. However for a final cocktail that was exactly the point -- the perfect calm down after a rich and spicy meal. - Food: 4.25 / 5 Bread, Oil & Dip: A great palate cleanser that quickly taught me the chef loves his spices. The dip was described as "Italian Hummus" and if this is the standard I completely understand the hype. Appetizer - Ceviche Peruviano: Think of that forgotten appetizer thrown together last minute for a dinner party, a hodgepodge of raw fish and vegetables. But every bite delivers an explosion of complementary flavors, and that sneaky hint of spice hiding in the raw fish bites will wake you up immediately. Pre-pasta - Tuscan Kale Salad: Needed something to cleanse my palate after the spicy ceviche and frankly I am tired of Caesar salad. Not a kale fan normally because it tastes like dirt, but the lemon vinaigrette adds just enough flavor to make that dirt genuinely enjoyable. Pasta - Cacio E Pepe: Easily the highlight. My buddy describes it perfectly as fancy fettuccine. I have never liked fettuccine until now. My server, who prepared it himself, recommended adding house chili oil for a slight kick. I went one click past recommended and even then it was still divine. I would order it again without hesitation. Entrée - Veal Chop, Lobster Tail & Vegetables (Chef's preference): After riding Cloud 9 all evening I felt like Icarus flying too close to the sun. One word: bland. The veal was overcooked with all the flavor locked into the fat, and the lobster tail tasted like a convenience store impulse buy. The best use of those bones would be soup stock. I had no desire to finish it. Dessert - Tuxedo Crème Brûlée: As much as I wanted the house raspberry tiramisu I left the choice to my server after some back and forth. He recommended this for its balance of sweetness and berry bitterness and he was right. The perfect final note to tap out on. Service: 10 / 5 Even now, I still don't think I tipped my server enough. Dining alone, he made the evening feel like I had a companion at the table. Great conversation, personalized attention, and a level of service that few will ever experience. It was a pleasure to talk to someone who knows and appreciates food as much as I do. If you want an exceptional dining experience, request AJ as your server. I promise you won't be disappointed. Vibe: 5 / 5 Presentation, presentation, presentation. That is the theme every dish and the environment itself conveys the moment you walk through the doors at Alla Famiglia. This is a place for those who want to feel bourgeois for the night. Overall 4.25 / 5: My goal in life is to become a regular somewhere. There is something special about finding a place you love so much that every visit still feels like a new experience. Alla Famiglia is exactly that type of place. During my visit I was introduced to new items and dishes not listed on the menu, which only adds to that sense of discovery. It may be a while before I return since this place isn't cheap and my restaurant bucket list is long, but I will be back. Hopefully AJ is still there when I do, because that is exactly the kind of server you want in your corner as a regular. Recommend? Absolutely
