This is such a quaint Italian restaurant. The Martini's are so delicious and they are generous on the pour your designated driver can only have 1. We went to Roman Bistro to celebrate my Uncle's birthday and we had a lovely time! We were a larger party, and the restaurant was able to accommodate our reservation. The server was kind and attentive to each persons needs. Loved the music and where our table was located. Loved the chocolate martini and eggplant for the appetizer! My husband and I went to Roman Bistro for Restaurant Week. It's sort of off the beaten path and nestled in the heart of Forest Hills. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially upon entering the place and feeling more of a bar food type vibe. But this play is way more than bar food! With Restaurant Week, you get a three course meal for a set price. I wanted the chicken croquette but the waiter thought it was sold out, so I ordered the apple gorgonzola salad instead. One of the managers came over to tell me that they weren't and she decided to allow me to get both! The salad was very complex with cranberries and pecans and apples in it. The finishing touch was the creamy balsamic dressing. The chicken croquette was different and unique consisting of creamy chicken and potatoes and peas, sort of like a chicken pot pie! For my entree, I ordered the lobster ravioli. I was a little disappointed because the menu stated " 2 jumbo raviolis," and I thought there wouldn't be enough food. Boy was I wrong. The raviolis were the size of the palm of my hand with large chunks of lobster amidst a creamy, buttery sauce. The meal was absolutely delicious! I finished my meal with the Strawberry Scooter Crunch Truffles, which tasted just like the nostalgic childhood treat! The flavor was complex and tasty, and I couldn't quite figure out the taste and ingredients. Nonetheless, the dessert was fabulous and left me wanting more! I like the food always but the moods of the staff are hit or miss. It was Friday I made a reservation and I added 2 to it which was fine and was easy to do. But then 3 more came last minute and they made it seem like a hassle to add 3 chairs and it made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Today, the food and service was not great. Kept messing up the order and the food was not cooked to their typical standard. We have been going there since this restaurant opened and has always had good food and service. Served blackened fish that was actually broiled and bright red and when eaten was extremely hot. It was obvious that the cook used too much cayenne pepper. The manager came over and just chalked it up to well "blackened is hot". Blacked is not unbearably hot to the point you can't eat it. I still paid for the meal however! Very disappointed in the food lately. This is the third time that I gone there and my food has not been good. read more

I like this place. They have a great bar and the ambiance of the place is super nice. Beer selections are really good. We had fried zucchini, port wine burger and chicken parm sandwiches. All were served piping hot and all were very good. Love the creamy horseradish sauce served with the zucchini. And the complementary bread with sun-dried tomatoes and olive tapenade was super yummy. Passed this place last week on the way to a county fair and decided to pop by last night for dinner. The huge bar spreads out in front of you as you enter. Quite a few folks were having dinner there. I'm glad we reserved a table in advance. The bistro looks huge on the outside, but it's surprisingly small inside (not that many tables). The place filled up pretty quickly at about 6:30p with what appeared to be a very regular crowd who've been coming for *years*. Our server was super friendly and helpful - pointing out tasty/popular dishes. *Tip - most dishes are big portions - you'll likely be leaving with leftovers! We started with a nice cab and salads --- me: caesar w/ anchovies (the dressing was a very tart vinaigrette- not creamy - and not my fave); husband: a wedge (again not a typical wedge - the copious amount of blue cheese dressing which was unusually flavored was not a fave). Our server had recommended the beet salad - should've done that! I ordered a recommended entree -- the crab cakes w/ Parmesan cheese risotto & Brussels sprouts. The crab was excellent - and the huge portions meant I was able to enjoy the 2nd of the 2 crab cakes the next day! The risotto was flavorful and creamy. Husband ordered the chicken anthony & really enjoyed it. The goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, & chicken in a lemon, butter, cream sauce on linguini --- all of it rich, yummy comfort food (pasta was a bit over cooked). No dessert -- but our super nice server brought some super flavorful house made limoncello to welcome us to the bistro and hope that we'd return. No problem. We will! read more

Food is good. Nice atmosphere. If you're seated in the bar it's noisy and have experienced the dining room closed, meaning sitting in the bar is required. There is an option to eat on an outdoor patio but I'm not a fan of traffic noise and sharing my meal with insects. Service has varied between excellent and horrible. The food was delicious! The bread was 10/10 and the dipping oil it comes with is superb. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was one of the best I've had. The chicken that usually comes with Alfredo at other places is typically dry- but at Roman's it was flavorful and you could eat it on its own! I hosted another bridal shower at Roman Bistro on 4/26/25. The restaurant did a fantastic job with the room set up, and table settings. The food was absolutely delicious . When planning the menu, the food options were varied with reasonable pricing. The service we received from our server, PJ, could not have been better. She kept the glasses filled and whatever we asked for was handled immediately. She was so helpful and sweet. The brides and guests really enjoyed themselves. Rose , the owner, was easy to work with when planning the shower . Whatever we wanted to do was not a problem. She was there to make sure we had everything we needed. On Oct 13, 2025, my long-time friends gathered at RB to catch-up since retiring. Eric was our server, and he was fantastic...just the right mix of leave-us-be, can-I-take-your-orders, how-is-everything, and anything-else! I ordered the meatloaf plate and the 'loaf was flavorful, dense and yummy, and the mashed potatoes were OUTRAGEOUSLY creamy, smooth and well-seasoned. The grilled zukes were seasoned well and held enough body to avoid mushiness...perfect! First night of the Summer Restaurant Week we decided on making a last minute impromptu reservation to one of my regular go to restaurants. Was a Monday night and were served by Lindsay our wonderful server. Had the Brie and prime rib crostini which almost could have been an entree and so delicious. Mrs G had the roasted beet salad with crumbled goat cheese and lemon basil vinaigrette which she liked. For Entree's, from a choice of 3, I chose the pan seared Chilean Sea Bass which came out in two large thick pieces, perfectly cooked with a golden brown sear and buttery soft texture surrounded by a plate filling sea of strawberry risotto that was to die for! I wish I had taken a picture of this heaven on a plate, but sadly my gastronomical greed overruled my IPhone camera. My wife had the Frangelico Chicken a large flattened pan seared chicken piece that was lightly breaded and covered most of the wide pasta bowl and was sat atop a bed of pasta with a Frangelico cream sauce with mushrooms and candied pecans. So much delightful food that she only could manage half of it so Lindsay courteously containered it to go for her...But Not me ...with my dish of pescatarian paradise...I wasn't taking any prisoners! Desert was an oversized Bananas Foster Crème Brûlée enough for sharing but we each had one. The sweet banana taste was throughout the whole dish, with additional slightly torched slices partially embedded into the crust neatly in a line. (Another missed photo op) My only gripe was that it was served chilled and I feel Crème Brûlée should be warm and slightly gooey. So please, please, check Roman Bistro during this short stint to see how talented their chef's are, as what I have noticed with them over the years that they don't offer the same mostly bland Restaurant Week fare year after year, like a lot of other unimaginative participating restaurants do. Btw going back later in the week to try their tempting Restaurant Week lunch offerings...I'm still salivating as I write this! read more

I placed an order for delivery on Roman Bistro's website, when the food didn't arrive, I called, and at first the two girls tried to be helpful, but ultimately weren't able to tell me why my food didn't arrive? So Rose Roman get on the phone and immediately accused me of putting in the wrong address, then I find I have to defend myself to this business owner and still wondering why when I typed in the CORRECT address still didn't get food? She refused to believe me and would not remake the food. I even tried to get a hold of the driver and told her you're going to the wrong address. The driver said that was the address given? I hung up and did some investigating and found out there was trouble on her website that automatically changed the address I called back and Rose still would not refund nor remake the food. So my 87 year old mother on her birthday didn't get dinner from Roman Bistro. After I hung up with Rose the second time, I called Bravo and my mom ended up having a wonderful dinner after all. The customer service at Roman Bistro was the worst I have experienced from a restaurant. She was unwilling to make it right or even try to investigate as to why her website would have the glitch. We dined with a large group the night of the Kentucky Derby. The restaurant and bar were very busy. Our waitress kept up with everyone's appetizers, drinks and dinners, which is no all feat. My wife and my pasta dinners were very good. The lemon cello topped off the evening. Competent service, good food, and wonderful hospitality are a winning combination. I do enjoy going to this place. They have the best salads ever and the presentation from the chef is always amazing. It was a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised cause it was very slow. I guess it's the Fourth of July weekend. I get it. The service was impeccable. I got a crabcake that was mostly crab. That was awesome. I love how they present their water cause it comes out in a bottle. I also asked for a cucumbers and my server cut them up cute he was very attentive and very on point great service. I asked the ad state cause you have choices and I was told that they were out of steak That surprised me for a restaurant to be out of steak, but I get it sometimes things could be hard I noticed, though that the managers walked around a lot then they asked about your service, which was nice. I ate here recently when I met up with a friend for lunch. Shoutout to the friend for the suggestion, because Roman Bistro is a bit out of my way as a South Hills girl; I'm not sure I ever would have made it out here without the invite. I took a peak at the menu online before the lunch date and gosh darn it, I knew immediately that I would have a hard time choosing what to order. Pasta, meatballs, sandwiches...it all looked really good! Since I knew I had dinner plans the same day, I opted to stick with the Greens and Beans and the bruschetta two appetizers made for a great meal. The vegetables and spinach were braised in garlic butter, which was the perfect addition to the dish; and I had no complaints about the bruschetta. It's bread and tomatoes and a sprinkling of cheese - short of burning the bread, it's bound to be the perfect comfort food! Other than waiting a bit longer than expected for our table's bottle of water to be refilled and returned, my friend and I had absolutely no complaints and had a great lunch. A quick note: based on their website, it appears they also have gluten free options and even a Sunday brunch and buffet. (Granted, it's the 2020s so who knows if the buffet is operating these days?) I haven't taken a look at the other reviews, but if there's praise for the gluten free options, then I think it's safe to say this restaurant offers a tasty experience all around. I'll definitely have this eatery in mind the next time I'm passing through. And If I were in the area and dined here again, I'd definitely want to order the ravioli and maybe some meatballs - given the delicious appetizers, I have a good feeling about the rest of the menu! read more
