As always had a good experience at the old AND new Michael A's. Loved both pastas and the pizza never really misses. The crispy Cesar fries were unreal with the cold lettuce and dressing! A MUST try!

I went with five old high school friends for one of our monthly luncheons. The service was attentive and quick. The huge pizza oven fire illuminated the back of the restaurant and gave a cozy warmth on a cold winter day. The portions were huge and the food was very good! I started off with an Aperol spritz which complemented the meal.

I grew up in the Oakmont area and had actually never been to Michael A's until recently. And I'm glad I finally went. We sat at the bar on a busy weekend night but even with a full bar and being by themselves, the bartender was super attentive. They had a nice selection of specialty cocktails. They also had maybe some of the best appetizers I've had in a long time. The Italian Bread Dumplings were insanely good and like nothing I've ever had. And the Crispy Caesar Fries were loaded with flavor. All of the fries had dressing on them and were loaded with cheese. For my main coarse, I had Chicken Parmesan. It was a gigantic helping. There are so many other tantalizing things on the menu. I can't wait to go back for more!

I had a great night visiting this restaurant! The margarita was so yummy and tasty. The food was served hot and quickly with the wait staff on top of it with their communication and recommendations. Also placed orders to go and the food was packed up nicely. Very cute and stylish vibes!

Finally got out to the new and updated Michael A's! Food was as good as it was before, switched up a little but nothing negative. Alfredo was amazing, my fiancé loved the chicken! Cacio e pepe was DELICIOUS I can't wait to eat this again. House salad was just as good as the usual, as you can see the bread offerings are also to die for. We finished with the tiramisu cheesacake which oh my god.... Was so good. The inside is so cute it definitely was busy but rightfully so! I can't wait to come back and try more!

The food and service at Michael A's was top notch. I had Chicken Romano and my wife had Baked Gnocchi. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were nice. Our bartender/waitress, was fantastic. She was friendly, checked on our table several times, and did an overall super job. Thanks Taia! We'll be back again.

Nice atmosphere and service is nice too. Good sized portions. Drinks are always good. The chicken parmigiana is ginormous and the pizza is always great

The food was delicious but interesting. The service was amazing with little chatter except for the bill, nevertheless it was amazing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I felt like I was in modern day Italy.

In addition to indoor seating on the first and second floor, they also have a fenced in patio outside for sitting. As we sat outside, we saw groups of people who could not figure out how to get into the speakeasy. Another thing that happened was that they closed early the night that I went because of the lack of customers. A group was trying to come in as we were leaving but we told them they were closing for the night. So be aware of that, if you're planning to go late night (past 11 pm). However, the drinks were amazing as always! They now added a couple of small bites so we tried the cucumbers. They were delicious and packed with flavor! Our drinks were great as always. They have even more options than the last time I was there which was nice! I still really enjoy this little space!

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit. The drinks are definitely crafted with care and have a lot of complexity, but with only two bartenders working, it took quite a while to get ours. Not the place to go if you want quick service or are grabbing a drink before another event. My biggest downside is the price point--most cocktails are around $17. They're good, but at that price I can really only justify having one. Note: They do not have food, just snacks like peanuts. Overall, amazing ambiance and well-made drinks, just expect slower service and a higher bill.

And don't sleep on the bar/lounge area--we each got a complimentary mimosa or mocktail for Mother's Day, which were fantastic! They had a good selection of beer and other spirits as well. The ambiance here is top-notch; there are several spots that are perfect for photo ops! And I loved all of the wall and table decor the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here for a girls' day out or for drinks with friends!

Velvet Terrace is a locally owned business that offers a reservation-only "Hi! Tea"…read more Through their website, I made a reservation for my husband and me. The confirmation email said "Dress Code: Business Casual." Upon our arrival to the restaurant, two employees kindly greeted us. The business was on the top floor of a simple-looking building, but its interior was spacious and nicely decorated. The menu listed three types of teas: "Celebration Tea" with one tea, cucumber sandwich, choice of ciabatta sandwich, and two desserts; "Royal Tea" with two teas, two scones, cucumber sandwich, choice of ciabatta sandwich, two desserts, honey or opera cake, and mocktail/mimosa; and "Prince/Princess Tea" with PB&J or chicken sandwich, scone, dessert, and soda/mocktail. The tea menu listed a couple dozen teas, including white, green, oolong, black, chai, decaffeinated, and herbal. We ordered the Royal Tea, which cost $41.99 per person plus tax and tip. For my husband's and my teas, we chose the English Breakfast, Bombay Chai, Moroccan Mint, and Orange Spicy. The employee brought out pretty teapots with cups and spoons. I noticed her plastic gloves that made a crinkling noise and thought that she could skip wearing them. The teas came in bags and were not loose-leaf, but they still tasted very good. I liked that a tea timer for 3, 4, and 5 minutes was available. There were also sugar packets and honey sticks. The foods were placed on a three-tier stand, but their plates were brought out separately as courses over time. For the first course, the scones contained blueberry (5 stars) and I think lemon (4.5 stars), and they came with jam and lemon curd. I also received small butter biscuits (4.5 stars). For the second course, I rate the sandwiches of cucumber, chicken salad, and egg as 3 stars each. They had a large size and alright flavors. The third course consisted of tiramisu mousse (4 stars), strawberry mousse (4.5 stars), and Bourbon Creams Biscuits (4 stars). This Royal Tea also came with a super-chocolately cake (5 stars) and mocktails/mimosas, for which I chose flavors of guava (4.5 stars) and mango (4.5 stars).

The brunette mentioned she had only been there for five days, but you never would have known it. She did an excellent job checking on guests and making sure everyone was taken care of. I ordered the 3-bone rib dinner with mac and cheese. I'll admit, I'm a bit of a rib snob, but these were outstanding. They had the perfect glaze with a nice crisp on the outside, weren't overcooked, and were so tender but not falling off the bone without being overly fatty. Easily some of the best ribs I've ever had. The mac and cheese was good, but it was spicier than I could handle. It would be nice if there were a non-spicy option available. We enjoyed a few beers, great food, and sat out on the patio listening to blues music on a beautiful summer evening. It was the perfect atmosphere, and I can't wait to come back. The only downside is that parking can get a little tight when they're busy, but it's well worth the visit.

The breads were really good and fresh, we really like the non-white bread. It was different but very good! We had ravioli, fettuccini Alfredo and 2 of the specials off of the early bird menu (the salmon salad and the pork chop). We enjoyed all of our food. The red sauce is really good! My salad was huge, I was able to bring a nice portion home. My husband said the rice with the pork chop was terrible but he really enjoyed the salad and pork chop. Our waitress was a little dry and not super friendly. She did forgot 2 of the soups we had ordered but offered to pack them to go or give us dessert, our kids opted for the dessert and both tried the cannolis (which were very disappointing). We weren't a fan at all and we all love cannolis. She did however send the soups home with us too (but one was not the soup ordered). Anyways it was a nice gesture. The building itself is an older building with nice woodwork and details. The crowd was definitely on the older side but we did dine in early. Overall good food, a little more on the formal side. Would like to return to try their chicken parm & the dipping oil!

Elegance with a welcoming feel of home and delicious creations!…read more As soon as you enter, you can see the grandiose architecture of the building and decor. The simplified elegance is also accompanied by the hospitality of the staff. Warm welcomes and greeting each customer as if they are a regular creates an atmosphere that you want to be in for every meal... and you didn't even eat yet. The menu has plenty of options, but I asking for suggestions... the staff can help you to find those hidden gems of Oakmont. The fried zucchini appetizer is not your normal bread crumbed planks- but a pillowy tempura batter that is cleverly aired to avoid sogginess with their plating technique. I would highly suggest grabbing this as an app. The bread service is already fresh and delicious... but the secret sauce... ask your waiter for the dip. Yes, it now costs a little extra. But oh my word.... It is worth every scent. The Blackenzola is worth the creative name and topping! The gorgonzola is fresh and adds such a delicious crust with the balsamic glaze on top of their filet mignon. The chef cooks the meat to perfection and it is a great meal. The green beans are a great vegetable option. The mashed potatoes make sense to be a Chef's Choice. The piping on the plate is beautiful - and they are smooth and creamy! After eating such good food, you have to say yes to just see the Dessert menu... and the tiramisu was calling my name. They give you a large portion and you can taste the freshness of this decadent dessert. All in all, Hoffstot's is a place that you will feel welcome, you will want to come back, and they will probably remember you.. or at least make you feel like part of the family.
