a bar with a lot of seating

Stopped here on a Saturday night on our weekender, in search of Italian. The outside looked cool - brick corner with a nice clean sign. However, walking in - the bar area, it reminded me of a bar rescue location. We scampered to the dining room, which wasn't too big and were sat. There were several areas inside that there was NO ONE dining in. Never a good sign if you're dead on a Saturday night. Anyway. The waitress was a younger woman who was really attentive and very friendly. She was handling three tables (only three occupied) and doing it with a smile. We passed on appetizers mainly bc there wasn't much to go with there - and ordered entrees - me a chicken parm (to those who read my stuff: yes shocking development). It came with a small salad, which was standard. The chicken parm was ok. The penne pasta sidecar was good - al dente and the sauce was a nice tangy gravy. The chicken was ok. They were trying atleast but it was very bland, and the fry didn't stay on the chicken. Flaked off very easy. Don't know. We decided to share a cannoli, which I took one bite of and the mascarpone obviously had curdled or spoiled but I spat it out. And for me to spit out a dessert - that's not good. At all. Just ok. Seems like they may need a renovation or a burst of energy other than our waitress.

I was in the mood for some inexpensive Italian food on a Sunday afternoon. I found the Pleasure Bar on Google and gave them a try. I ordered the Baked Ziti, (Cut ziti noodles layered with hot sausage, pepperoni, Mozzarella, Romano, and Provolone cheese baked, and topped with tomato sauce). I asked the waitress if I could get some 'Riggot' on the side in my NY Italian accent. Unfortunately, no ricotta. Bottom line, good basic inexpensive Italian fare and great service.

    Their lasagna. Is pretty good.

This place is so cool. It smells nice and the waiters and waitresses are super attentive. Me and the waitress even had a conversation about sec workers haha. (If you read this, my names Mel and my number is 2342756743 :))

The friend who made our reservation had heard about this place from someone else. I had never tried it, but I am glad that we did! While the bar area is very loud, our party was seated together in a quiet side dining room. Our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable. And the kitchen can be very quick. FYI, they can't split checks for larger groups. Now for the food. The Pleasure Bar house salad puts other restaurants' house salads to shame: mixed greens, pickled red pepper, pine nuts, mozzarella cheese, and not one but two kinds of olives. Classy. The kalamari came out hot, with a light breading and chewy center. All of the various pasta dishes we ordered were delicious, and generous servings. It's a good price if you count the leftovers. I was pleasantly surprised and want to come back.

Service was good but unfortunately the entree or appetizer was really subpar. Not much taste.

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

They're good, but at that price I can really only justify having one. Note: They do not have food, just snacks like peanuts. First, I wish I would have bought a Gooski's shirt. I have no idea if they had them when I visited but I totally forgot to check when I was there. It feels like the kind of place that if you're wearing this shirt in your hometown a Pittsburgh native would stop you on the street to tell you, "Gooski's is legendary." I wish I was there for the cheap ass drinks and edgy vibe when a band was playing as I love a punk rock vibe, but I think I was there too early in the day for that. The staff was cool, the drinks were exactly what you'd expect, and it's the kind of place that I'd spend way too much time in if I lived in Pittsburgh.
