This place is a hidden gem. A friend was visiting from out of town and while driving down Rt.65 he spotted the sign. We looked it up and he said he had to go there for the Oysters. We went tonight at 7:00 and were treated to a great meal. They have a regular menu and a "lite fare" menu. The lite fare menu offers an appetizer & soup & salad, dinner, rolls with butter and dessert. The portions themselves are smaller, but the quality of the food is so good that larger portions are not needed. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. I had an iced tea and it was reasonably priced at $2.00 and included refills. The fresh baked rolls were delicious. Homemade salad dressing was excellent. I had the deep fried cheesecake which was also excellent. I will definitely be going back, now that I have discovered this place. Days and hours are limited, so plan ahead.

an excellent place; otimo.atendememto great food, offers an exceptional experience a place that is incredible, magical, acongecande,

We had the most amazing dinner here tonight and I already cannot wait to return. I read on the other reviews that they do valet service here, but when we arrived it was just a normal parking lot and we parked our own car so I'm not sure if that is just a weekend thing or not. The restaurant is inside an old house so don't be turned away if you think you're approaching someone's driveway; that's the place! When we arrived, we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp with mashed potatoes. It was amazing. The rest of my family ordered steak and they said it was the best steak they've ever had. They also bring out complimentary rolls that are so so so good. Although the prices are a little high, you are definitely getting what you pay for. The portions are big and everything tastes great.

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit. The drinks are definitely crafted with care and have a lot of complexity, but with only two bartenders working, it took quite a while to get ours. Not the place to go if you want quick service or are grabbing a drink before another event. My biggest downside is the price point--most cocktails are around $17. They're good, but at that price I can really only justify having one. Note: They do not have food, just snacks like peanuts. Overall, amazing ambiance and well-made drinks, just expect slower service and a higher bill.

Cocktails were made surprisingly quick even on a busy night. Everything is just really great about this place. Except for maybe the price lol but at least you're getting what you pay for in a good way

I will definitely be stopping back again in the future!

They didn't include the maraschino cherry garnish which made me sad, but I lived lol. I also tried the Euro Trip from their specialty menu, and it was delicious and very spicy from the ginger. They also had their own barrel select of Knob Creek, which my fiancé tried - so cool! The bartenders were super chill and the ambiance was great! A little pricey but worth it.

The bar's space was renovated to transport customers to the secrecy of the Prohibition era. Through OpenTable, I made a reservation for my husband and me. We entered the building through a side entrance on Amity Street, checked in with an employee at a desk, and then waited for another employee to walk us to the 100-year-old elevator (it still works!). On the fourth floor, we saw old bank items such as safety deposit boxes and mechanical check printers. We pushed a button to turn a clock handle to a certain time, and then a hidden door opened. We entered the bar, and two bartenders, Ryan and Robbie, greeted us. The menu listed vodkas, gins, tequilas, mezcals, liquors, bourbons, ryes, rums, seasonal drinks, and mocktails. Food could be ordered from the Puerto Rican restaurant Secretos De Mis Abuelos that is located elsewhere in the building. The bar consisted of a few rooms, each of which had glamorous interior design such as antique furniture, wallpaper with bold patterns, paintings, and dimly lit lamps. Beyond the bar was the Library, which had shelves of books and an old radio. The bartenders patiently repeated to us that we should pull a certain book to open another secret door that would lead us to the Red Room. We finally figured out which book to pull, and we walked down stairs to a parlor with rich, red hues, plush seating, and (at least at that time) a more private, quiet setting. I ordered the French martini (vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice, raspberry vanilla shrub, and raspberries) and the Painkiller (spiced rum, coconut rum and cream, pineapple juice, orange juice, and nutmeg), and I rate them both as 5 stars. Each of those drinks cost $13 plus tax, credit-card fee, and tip.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
