Really enjoy Jackson's -- they are consistently good. My husband and I went for lunch recently as we need to spend our "bonus" gift cards before they expire, so have made a couple of reservations recently. Lunch was very good. The menu has a lot of choices and we were both pleased with what we had. Service was also great! The only reason I'm giving a "4" is because it was unclear that the gift card bonus expires so early in the year, and we were out of town for much of January, so now have to rush to use them. read more

Examples of menu items are frittatas, salads, soups, calamari, burgers, pizzas, pastas, chicken, pork chops, salmon, sea bass, crab cakes, and steaks. My husband and I ate Sunday brunch here once. We arrived at opening time. Minutes later, the seating hostess showed up for work. She seated us at a clean table. The waitress spoke nicely to us. We were the only customers there, but we had to wait a long time for our foods to be brought out. Here are my ratings for our foods: Bananas Foster French Toast - 5 stars - Two pieces of French toast were topped with sweet and delicious bananas, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and strawberries. I've called this establishment multiple times to inquire about hosting a rehearsal dinner and spoke with two staff members who said someone would follow up. No one ever did. We stopped by yesterday for dinner around 5:30pm on the way to Tanger outlet. We were able to get seated right away and because we looked at the menu ahead of time, we were able to order our apps and entree very soon after. The inside is pretty spacious with a big bar and a couple of seating areas. They still have their holiday decorations up which made it cozy along with their fireplace. Our portions of food were very large and everything was tasty. My only critique was that I wished the carrots and potatoes that came with the pork chops had more seasoning. Dined here for a business meeting recently. We ordered the Margherita flatbread as an appetizer, and I ordered the salmon with rice + vegetables with a side Caesar salad as my meal. The flatbread tasted a bit sour as the balsamic vinegar drizzle was very much not compatible with the dish (I recommend ordering without it), and I noticed that no one at the table finished the slices they grabbed or went back for seconds. My salmon and asparagus tasted good, but the rice it came with was not tasty and seemed to be an odd pairing. The Caesar salad was also one of the worst Caesar salads I've had -- I definitely expected better from a restaurant at this price point and of this caliber. In any case, I wouldn't go back here due to the food and the service which left a lot to be desired for. 3 stars because the salmon was good and it was otherwise a good setting for a business lunch. read more

Have been many times in the past over the years and have typically enjoyed it. Went on a recent Saturday night and was shocked how quiet it was. Two of us sat and the bar and were the only ones there all night. Staff was really attentive and the meal we had was great. Really good fresh wedge. Went with the fillet bites appetizer and it was actually a perfect sized entree with fingerling potatoes. And the bread pudding capped it off and was incredible. Service was amazing! Staff were so friendly. My husband ordered the special which was a blackened chicken pasta. He loved the flavor on the tomatoes in the pasta. The chicken was a little dry. The noodle choice didn't really hold the sauce well. He ate every bite though. I ordered a Caesar salad with a crab cake. It cost me $33. There was the butt end of the romaine lettuce and wilted pieces in my salad. I've also had better crab cakes in my life. It was full of crab & not a lot of fillers but they seared both sides a little too hard for my liking. There was an overpowering Smokey / almost burnt taste to every bite. Went there as a party of 4 on Valentine's day. We made the reservation 3 weeks out for 815 pm. We showed up on time and were seated promptly. We had water poured for us in the first few minutes. 20 minutes then goes by and no waiter or anyone for that matter comes to the table. I go up to tell the hostess and as I do that, two other tables who had just arrived, we're getting service. I saw my party getting up to leave so I politely told the hostess that no one waited on us for over 20 minutes and they just lost out on an easy $400 tab. Will not be back. read more

I stayed at the hotel next door! I ate here both nights! The first night I ate outside on the patio and had the 8 oz filet mignon with mashed potato and broccolini. The filet was ordered medium rare but came out medium or more but still had good flavor! The second night I sat at the bar and ordered the chorizo corn chowder to start. The chowder was excellent! The bartender recommended the calzone so that's what I ordered! Lots of meat and cheese but the crust was brushed with a hot honey glaze that was delicious! I was excited to try this place despite reading some unhappy reviews on Yelp. We had reservations with family for 7PM on a Saturday. Right off the bat, the service was lacking, exactly what I was afraid of after reading reviews. It took awhile to get our drinks as well as refills on waters. Our whole table got appetizers and finished them before we even had a chance to order dinner. The timing on the service was very slow. The drinks were good but not the best I've had. The food was just alright. Good, but nothing that really stood out. I didn't like how there wasn't much variety with the sides that came with the entrees choices. I got the smokey ancho salmon with the pea couscous side - it was very underwhelming and I didn't like that it was served cold with the salmon, but that's just my personal preference. It was unique that the bread basket for the table had a variety of breads and spreads. That was a nice touch. The new bourbon ice cream they had was really yummy. Hubby and I shared a scoop of that for dessert and it was good. His dad got the cheesecake and shared with us. Also yummy but it's hard to mess that up. Overall, not a place I would rush back to. We made a reservation for a Saturday night but probably didn't need one, as there were plenty of empty tables. The service and food were both top notch! We knew it was going to be a great meal when the bread and butter basket they brought out was the best we've ever had - three different kinds of bread, including a cheesy bread that I could've rated a whole meal of, as well as a regular butter and two special olive tapenades. We started with the calamari appetizer which was great, and for our dinners we had the crab and shrimp Mac and cheese (don't be scared of it listing Market Price on the menu; it was less than $30) and the hanger steak. Jackson's is a more upscale restaurant in the Southpointe complex. A very limited lunch menu on Saturdays. But that's ok, I went there for their Bacon Jam burger. It did not disappoint. It's a Premium steak burger with Swiss & Cheddar, lettuce, tomato, topped with Bacon jam on a brioche bun with a side of coleslaw and pickle. Bun was toasted, light, loved it. Burger was cooked right, I added caramelized onions, and poured Ranch dressing over it, as I usually do. Bacon Jam was yummy, chunks of bacon, very flavorful. A great burger experience, with a side of tasty, crunchy fries. Will be back on a weekday for their expanded menu. read more

The food was decent. We went later on in the evening as that was worked with our sitter (8:45 pm reservation) so it was later when we ordered dessert (9:55ish). I guess it was partially our fault since we didn't ask what time the kitchen closed- online it says it's open till 2am and there were later reservation times available. Well after receiving our dessert, the kitchen made sure we knew what time they closed as they wrote it on our plate with chocolate sauce. After hearing some made up excuse from a lady in chef coat (she said it was the time it came out of the "oven"- it was 8 mins after the time and still hot- so must have really been molten lava in there ) our server went over and above to make it right. A couple of suggestions might be: Consider the table coverings, the menu folder/quality, and even the size and shape of the tables. These speak volumes when a person first sees the dining area. Making the experience feel less formal can help both the restaurant and the customers relax more quickly and easily right at the start. These likely would save you a good stack of change $. We chose Jacksons to have a family happy hour and dinner because it is centrally located for all 6 of us. I did not look at the reviews before visiting. My wife and I got there early and our first impression was that it is a nice place: it has a big bar and lots of seating. It was a little cold inside for wearing shorts. We originally wanted to sit ourside but the pario was closed for a "private event". We started with 2 manhattans at the bar. They were mixed very sweet for a whiskey drink. I drank mine but my wife ordered a replacement which tasted good. Then we sat down with our party. It took a long time for our server to approach us. We ordered the next round of drinks and it took an oddly long amount of time to get them. They came without incident, but she forgot about my beer. Time passed. We ordered apps and dinner. The apps came after a sort of long wait but it was OK as we were talking and laughing. Dinner was taking too long to arrive so the staff brought us a filet bites and a calamari app, for 6 of us. Dinner came, way after the apps. Mine was missing, she brought a steak for me but I had ordered a pizza. The pizza eventually showed up. The food quality is mixed. I had the filet bites app and it is almost a full meal in itself. Very tasty, comes with a small iron skillet of potatoes covered with cheese. The calamari was under cooked and WAY over salted - almost inedible. The steaks people ordered were covered in halved small onions covered with cheese. While properly cooked, there is no reason to cover a steak of that caliber with cheese?!?! And $41? in Cannonsburg? Again too much salt. 2 people in our party had the shrimp app and it was very salty too. The hit of the night was the pork chop. It is a huge amount of pork for the money. The pizza I eventually got was really good! When it was time for checkout, the staff and our server apologized for all the waiting and gave me a $15 gift card for the bumbled pizza order but they charged my wife and I $10 for "rocks" - whatever that is. Also, charged us for a high-end burbon which we would never have ordered out for exactly that reason. Analysis: This restaurant has a lot of "managers" running around but not enough kitchen and wait staff. Out server seemed harried and was mostly absent (but very nice). Could be why there were mistakes in the order. I dont know who is designing the food but they need to go back to basics (cheese on steak?) and start tasting what they send out. This restaurant seems like they have cooks reading off a program card sent in from "corporate". Same for the bar: learn how to make the classic drinks! Most important is timliness of service! They need to hire a restaurant pro to observe what is going on and get people in line. Lots of "managers" no leadership ends up costing a business in the long run. We have a policy that unless the place is totally filthy we owe it to the staff/owners to return and given them another chance and that is exactly what we will do, I think Jacksons could be a regular haunt if the service and food quality issues were a fluke. read more

I had the opportunity to visit Jackson's for a work lunch a few times. It is located on the first floor of the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Southpointe. The interior decor is very nice and romantic and even has a beautiful fire place making it a great place for date night. There is also a patio to enjoy during the warmer months. Our service has always excellent and very attentive. The menu has something for everyone. Burgers, soups, sandwiches, pizza and much more. They also offer a $10 Power Lunch which includes a beverage. Sandwiches come with a pickle and coleslaw as well as your choice of French Fries or fresh vegetables. I highly recommend the Crab Mac and Cheese though as it is incredible. It features Lump crab meat, cheddar, smoked gouda, bacon over cavatappi pasta and all I ever get. Their desserts are superb also. They change seasonally, so you'll always have something new to try. During my first visit they were featuring a S'mores bread pudding which I had to try! It was spectacular! As much as I love Jackson's for lunch, I didn't love my dinner experience. My husband and I went to Jackson's on New Year's Eve. Thank god we had a reservation, because it was packed! They were super busy, but the service started out great. We got the shrimp and crab Mac and cheese appetizer and it was def our favorite thing of the night. That and the wood fired cheesy bread that my husband could not stop raving about. I started with the wedge salad and he got the chowder. He loved the soup. I had a taste and I agreed. The wedge, however, was drenched in dressing. And I never say that. I usually like a lot of dressing but it was way too much. We both ordered the prime rib and both of our cuts were slightly over cooked. I ordered mine medium rare and it came out very slightly pink. Once our food was dropped off, we never saw our server again. Never came to check on us or ask how the meal was. After we were done eating, we waiting 25 mins before we saw him to ask for the check. However, we will be returning again because everyone on NYE got a $20 dining credit for a 2019 visit, so we will see how it goes! read more

I really enjoy Jackson's. I've eaten here several times for lunch and like my food each & every time. The restaurant is extremely clean, the service is good, and the food is delicious. I also love that they offer outdoor seating when the weather permits. Jackson's is a great addition to the Hilton Garden Inn. You can't beat the crab cakes! Went on a last minute date with my boyfriend. Everything we ate was fantastic. However, I removed one star due to the service. Our waitress was pleasant enough, but it took nearly 20 minutes to get drinks, we had to ask several times for bread, and once we were finished eating it was another 20+ minutes to get the bill. We started off with a couple of cocktails - an old fashioned and a pear pomegranate martini. My boyfriend thought the old fashioned was fairly standard. My martini was a tasty, winter tart treat. As we were starving, we decided to add the chefs 4 course tasting onto one of the entrees. We had heard a lot of hype about the crab Mac n cheese. While it was tasty, I don't think it was worth the $15. The shrimp and andouille sausage chowder was delicious and unique. I got the lamb chops and my boyfriend got the branzino. Both were absolutely mouth watering and beautifully presented. His fish melted like butter in the mouth, complimented nicely by a Parmesan risotto. My lamb was cooked to a perfect medium rare and sat on a creamy polenta cake. Even though we were stuffed, we decided to get the opera cake. The waitress brought out an iPad with pictures of all the desserts. The opera cake was good but soaked in too much alcohol. It was hard to identify the chocolate elements. I was craving a chocolate martini, the waitress heard me make an off hand remark and has the bartender make me one! All in all, this was an excellent dinner.
