This may very well be the best restaurant in the Burgh... or ever. No seriously, fantastic place. Food was amazing. We tried two 1/4 caviars, (hackleback and white sturgeon), loved both. Sunchokes, wagyu short rib and braised pork. Amazing all around. Service by Allie was top notch....friendly, courteous, prompt and fun. Thank you Allie! We will be back!

Siempre Algo was fabulous -- we booked it based on all of the wonderful reviews here and we're not disappointed. I live in Chicago & my parents are in DC, so we have pretty high standards for "fancy" dining and this hit the mark. We started with the cheese plate & the baguette (we did try the GF focaccia and it was not our jam but I think that's because none of us are gluten free so we were not expecting the texture) which paired super well, and the cheeses were particularly flavorful. Highly recommend. For my main, I had the Wagyu Short Rib and it was phenomenal, melted in your mouth and came with the perfect pairing of sides. The star of the show however was the dessert, which was the Chocolate & PB and actually brought tears to my eyes. The ice cream was thick and was easily the best peanut butter ice cream I've ever had -- add that to the thick, decadent chocolate cake and it was a heaven sent bite! The restaurant is cozy and welcoming, with just few tables and a solid sized bar area. We sat at the high table at front and the only critique I had is there could be a blind put at the top of the window to cover the super bright outside awning light. Our waitress was fabulous. She checked in on us often, answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. Absolute pleasure of an experience all around!

Oh my goodness -- 10 stars out of 5!!!! This place is fantastic. I'll take you through each course, but the free bubbles to start while we perused the menu was a lovely surprise. The baguette was warm, perfectly salty and right out of the oven. The hummus... oh my! Best I've had! So creamy, rich, and flavorful. We ordered the brassica, and this wins for the most eclectic dish of the night! Great broccoli and cauliflower florets, pepper jelly, whipped ricotta, Swiss chard (I think) and raisins. Goodness was this good. For my entree I got the duck. Best duck I've ever had. Period. Crispy skin, fork tender, incredible flavor. There was a fantastic puree, hearty mushrooms. Man, I wish I got 2 orders. It was soooo good. My wife got the gnocchi, and she raved about it! The bites I had were excellent. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and her gnocchi were perfect. Crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. We brought our baby daughter with us, and she was getting restless. So we started to rush so we didn't disturb other folks' meal. The chef noticed this and gave us dessert to go...on the house. We were utterly touched by this act of kindness, and the service was fantastic throughout our meal. The cheesecake, by the way, was superb! I love basque cheesecake. Get this if it's on the menu!!! We can't wait to come back, as this restaurant is now one of our favorites. Truly a remarkably good experience!!! Thank you for a wonderful evening, Siempre Algo!

Siempre Algo, you had me at hello. Seriously--bubbles upon being seated? A whoooole vibe. We rolled in for a girls' dinner and left wondering if we could make it a weekly ritual. The menu may be petite, but honey, every single item is a moment. Think curated, flavor-forward, and downright sexy. We kicked things off with cocktails that read like a love letter to creativity: I went bold with the 12 Monkeys (tequila, mezcal, kiwi, serrano... it was giving tropical heat), while Lauren & Cait stayed fresh with the "Oh, Snap"--aka spring in a glass. Shout out to Ang, who got the sharp cheddar bourbon creation, O.G-eez Itz. Bizarre? Yes. Brilliant? Also yes. Gimme 20 parm crisps pls. We demolished the demi-baguette (warm carbs &butter? Always yes), swooned over the steak tartare (saffron mousse and wagyu magic), & the roasted cabbage? Haute cuisine's answer to comfort food. For mains, the wagyu sirloin was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, the pork was smoky-sweet heaven, & that crab trofie? Buttery, herbaceous luxury. Carrot cake? Yes ma'am. Perfect for girls' night, a flirty date, or literally any excuse to celebrate. Siempre Algo = unequivocally #GOUDapproved

Grabbed a seat at the bar for a couple small plates and was greeted with a complimentary glass of bubbles(nice touch). Ordered the bluefin tuna crudo and steamed clams. The tuna was extremely fresh and the preparation provided crunch, slight heat, umami, sour with an overall clean finish. The clams were served in a more classic white wine/garlic/herb sauce with the required piece of baguette to sop up that wonderful broth. I'd go back for both. The service was great and the vibe is classy and intimate. Great for date night. And if you're a bourbon/whiskey connoisseur, it's a must stop. Ask for the iPad to look through a very extensive list of bourbons, ryes, Japanese and American whiskey. The menu has many interesting offerings so this is great if you're looking for something unique. Finally, I'm not a huge fan of caviar, but if you are they have 5 different offerings that are served in 1/4, 1/2 or 1 ounce portions. Definitely worth a stop for a special occasion, something uniquely fancy for the 412 or just a cool date night.

Honestly - more mad than ever that I haven't been here before. I've had it on my list and just never made it. Now I plan to make it ALL.THE.TIME. This is a super intimate spot and I suggest a reservation which one of the girls thankfully made for us. The food was amazing. The cocktails were creative. The service was on point. That sirloin was cooked to perfection and that steak tartare was beautiful. The crab trofie took me right back to cinque terre in Italy. Thank you for letting me relive a favorite food moment! See you soon!

I met a couple of girlfriends here for dinner and drinks, and Siempre Algo took excellent care of us. There are no bad choices here: all the food and drinks we chose were delicious. You can share with each other, but you really need to come back multiple times to try everything for yourself. I plan to!

On a quest to find elevated dining in Pittsburgh, my partner and I decided to make a stop at Siempre Algo. East Ohio street has become known for delicious elevated eats, and Siempre Algo does a great job in contributing to that reputation. We split the latkes and I got scallops. The latke was pretty tasty although a little over fried for my tastes. The scallops were melt in your mouth delicious and I highly recommend when they are back on the menu. Services and ambiance were also both great. Everyone was inviting and warm!

This place was such a good choice for our random dinner the other day. The interior is smaller but intimate and warm. Great cocktails, food and service. You are greeted and given welcome bubblies. We ordered a few cocktails all excellent and tastey. We got the duck and the pork belly. The duck was amazing cooked perfectly and all the components to the dish were delicious and an experience. Pork belly was my fav crispy fat just like the duck what more could you ask for. Dessert: all of them sounded so good we took a while to pick something. We had the dark chocolate brownie with butternut squash ice cream. Omg omg so good it wasn't sickening sweet. It was like so balanced. Worth a try and will be coming back to try more dishes

Another gem right down the street from our Airbnb. Managed to get a last minute reservation and was glad we did. Service was great and so was the food. Fennel ice cream is not something I would have expected to like but was such a unique flavor for the affogato. Our meals were both great, we shared fish and meat. We would definitely come back.

Siempre Algo is a high end experience from beginning to end. The space is on the smaller side but is cozy. Service is very attentive. I appreciated the welcome bubbles. I was very thankful that the menu was clearly labeled with allergens and many items were gluten free. It is always nice to not have to make concessions for gluten sensitivity. The gluten free focaccia was just as good as the real thing and the latkes had great flavor. The lamb entree was flavorful and a great potion. The earl gray affogato dessert was very unique and memorable. We look forward to returning to try new items - looks like the menu is seasonal.

What a hidden gem! In the heart of the Northside, Siempre Algo is nestled on Ohio Street amongst a few other outstanding restaurants BUT Siempre Algo is something special! Each meal starts out with a complimentary Sauvignon Blanc, which is a special and unique touch that foreshadows an amazing meal! Our waiter was super helpful, attentive, and friendly. He engaged in conversation and affirmed our meal choices! Everything on the menu is unique, some being out of my comfort zone but still very accessible if you don't have an adventurous palette! Here's what we tried: [Baba Ganoush]: I've never had this dish, but it won't be my last. It was refreshing and tasty! [Beet Salad]: This salad was unique. It contained sunchokes, which I've never had before! [Quiche]: This quiche was so decadent and flavorful. It was my favorite part of the meal! [Pork Belly]: My husband LOVED his pork belly. It was tender and full of flavor! [Dessert]: I can't remember what our dessert was as it's not on the menu anymore, but it was dense and delicious and perfectly paired with grapefruit! I cannot wait to go back this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy. The food is exceptional. The service is spot on! You won't regret making a stop here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Small and cozy place - perfect for date night. The staff was great and I got the sense that everyone takes pride in their work. We were welcomed with complimentary champagne and the waitress gave us a run down of the menu. We ordered the tempura shrimp and duo of pate with demi baguette to start followed by the lamb and scallop entrees. The pacing of the food was perfect and everything was described to us as it was placed on the table. Everything tasted as amazing as it looked. Can't wait to visit again!

Do they have any gluten free entrees?

    Yes

    What's the dress code here?

It's pretty casual. I wore a tunic sweater and leggings, my husband wore jeans and a sweater.

    What are the prices?

Snacks range anywhere from $6-$10.00. Entrees start a little more than $20.00 and work their way up. Desserts are $7 or $8.00. Cocktails and wine are on a separate menu which I took a photo of.

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
