The owner should try visiting Paris -- a Denny's-quality grilled cheese and a croque monsieur are not the same thing. What's served here is a sad imitation of French cuisine at premium prices. My croque monsieur was greasy, flavorless, and clearly made with no care -- more like diner food than a Parisian bistro classic. The rest of the meal matched that tone: bland, poorly executed, and overpriced. Service was inattentive and rushed, and the atmosphere felt chaotic rather than charming. For a restaurant that markets itself as authentic French, there was nothing remotely authentic about the food or the experience. If you actually enjoy good French cooking, do yourself a favor and skip this place. Pittsburgh has far better options. read more

We are so happy to have stumbled onto this charming restaurant. We had been driving all day, so 9am we checked into our hotel we looked for a restaurant within walking distance. The decor is very Parisian Bistro, and our server was friendly & informative. We started with a house made Brie (I think) spread with honey, and toast points. It was delicious! My husband had the bouillabaisse, one of his favorite dishes, and it was full of lovely seafood. My confit chicken leg over rice was absolutely mouthwatering! We split some fresh fat asparagus, and had some nice cocktails and wine. If we lived in Pittsburgh, we would definitely return. read more

First of all, the food wasn't inexpensive. It was delicious and very well made. I had a salad stole some escargot from my husband, the savory buckwheat crapes. It was fantastic. But, very unlike me. Our waiter was gorgeous and that messed with my head a lot (shamefully). So we went back a few weeks later and our waiter was much more what I deserve in looks. So I was able to order with a clear head. This time I had the escargot and a white fish. Finish with a nice dessert. What can I say... it's the classic French restaurant. I tried their Sunday brunch for the first time last week and it was fantastic. We sat in their "patio" which has walls and heaters in the winter. It was very cute and cozy. Their brunch is all Al a carte. I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and it was delicious! My niece got the strawberry chocolate crepes and she said it's the best crepes she's had in pittsburgh. Service was slow but they were super nice and helpful. I haven't had their dinner in about 8 years but I'm excited to go back and try it soon. read more

Absolutely amazing. I haven't left a restaurant feeling that satisfied and delighted in such a long time. The owner was so sweet and enthusiastic about his work. The service was very nice as well. I order the escargot, meat charcuterie board, french onion soup, and moules frites. Everything was a 11/10. The chef even gave us a complimentary butternut squash soup which was absolutely delightful. Please do not skip the cream brûle for dessert, truly the best I've had. There's an incredible aroma as soon as you enter that immediately sets the tone and makes you feel like you've stepped into a cozy Parisian bistro. The food was excellent. We started with the escargot, which was perfectly prepared and full of flavor, and had the chicken confit for our entrée--absolutely delicious. The portions were just right, and everything we ate was rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. Dessert sealed the experience. The crème brûlée was amazing, with the perfect crack on top and a smooth, creamy center. It's worth noting that the wine prices are on the higher side. First time trying the restaurant through uber eats. I had the onion soup and the cheese board. I did feel a little scammed as I was expecting a nice dinner but the quality was not up to par with the advertised experience nor the prices. I was dissapointed the soup came with slices of swiss cheese and not gruyère. The cheese board just hurt my feelings, see photo for reference. Update - thank you for the reply Frederic. Perfect little French bistro in a city where there aren't many! We had tickets to a concert at the Kelly Strayhorn, so this was an easy choice for a fantastic dinner near the theatre. The service was wonderful -- our server was knowledgeable and clearly passionate about food which always makes discussing menu options an enjoyable experience. We were pressed for time, so we had to skip straight to the entrees -- a filet for me and the pork for him. Both were perfect and easily comparable to much more expensive versions elsewhere in the city. The fries (frites) were a casual & basic offset to the rich proteins, but the green beans (haricots verts) were the star. We replicated this prep at home (the ultimate compliment) to include the bread crumbs and butter. It's French , so we expected the wine choices to be awesome, and they delivered. Chablis by the glass for a starter and a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape for the entrees rounded out our experience perfectly. One of our top 5 favorites in Pittsburgh - 100% recommend! read more

Have been eating here for years and have never had a single bad experience. I recently heard about a lot of negative reviews posted about this restaurant and after reading them myself I'm shocked. I just got home from a fantastic meal: I shared an order of mussels and an asparagus salad with two other guests, and we each ordered an entree (we were not charged for splitting plates). Everyone loved the appetizers. Our entrees were amazing too: Kobe steak, salmon, and chicken. The wine we ordered made everyone happy, and the desserts were great too. Our waiter was funny, attentive, and was managing a large number of tables. We sat outside - where I prefer to sit. But I never request any specific seat when I book a table, because I love sitting anywhere at Paris 66! I don't usually feel like I need to write a review for a restaurant but I want to make sure this place gets the credit it deserves. EDIT: I appreciate how much of the menu is gluten free! read more

I highly recommend the whipped Brie with toasted bread. The savory cheese with the onion jam and touch of honey on top of toasted bread made for a mouth-watering perfect bite! We also had a perfect baguette. For entrees, we had salmon and the tri-tip (which was a strip steak for the evening). We ordered fries and asparagus for sides. My steak was cooked to perfection, and the espresso butter was the chef's kiss. My wife loved her salmon and raved about the sauce. Our service was wonderful. Chris was an excellent waiter. Also dessert was choice of chocolate mousse or crème brûlée. We ordered one of each and both were excellent. Visit this special little intimate restaurant... You won't be disappointed! First, the food was amazing and the ambiance feels just like a small cafe in the middle of Paris. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of our interaction when we arrived. We were walking around trying to find a place to eat and thought this place looked interesting, we walked in and were greeted with a cold shoulder, and they stated we couldn't be seated if we didn't have a reservation. We understood since it was a Sunday..but I walked outside and was able to get a reservation on open table right away. We walked back in, and were greeted by a gentleman who seemed to be the owner or manager and I told him I had a reservation. He said there was no need and seated us right away. This was a wonderful culinary experience and I was joined by my friend who is a French professor and lover of French culture/cuisine. While it is definitely pricey, I felt it was a splurge that was worth it for a special occasion. They didn't have boeuf bourguignon this time, but my tri-tip steak was deliciously prepared. All food was cooked and prepared to order and we also enjoyed glasses of wine and a dessert finished of crepes. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is actually somewhat casual inside, but with simple decor that sets the basic Parisienne mood. read more
