Cannot wait to go back for more!! Reservations can be difficult but they have bar seating if you want to try your luck. The ambiance is amazing, we sat on the covered patio in the winter and they had heaters to keep you comfortable. Every course we had was delicious. You must try the French onion soup. Our water didn't even give us the option to not end with the soufflé and there were no regrets. Excited to go back and try a different area of the restaurant to see the full remodel.

Tried the roasted duck, gnocchi and New York strip frites. Everything was well prepared authentic French preparation. The duck was the best plate the three. Only comment was that the finishing salt on both the gnocchi and fries was way too much. Staff was very nice and the location is very cool. Looks like Casis met Miami and they had a child.

Poulet Bleu describes itself as an American bistro on the menu which is kind of funny. You know they're going for a French restaurant, but maybe that will temper the ever rare French Pittsburgh folks' expectations. We shared the cheese plate, filet mignon with frites, and the soufflé. The filet and frites were cooked perfectly, and the soufflé is a must-order. Both the entrée and dessert felt completely worth it. The cheese plate was good, but for the price, it's probably the one thing we'd skip next time. I had a Kir Royale, which was delightful and a great way to start the meal. We were seated on the enclosed front patio with the fountain, which made for a really lovely atmosphere. While nothing special was done to acknowledge my birthday, the service was attentive, friendly, and approachable throughout the evening. Overall, a great spot for a special night out if you're craving classic French flavors in a bistro setting.

We had dinner reservations for a Saturday night for four. Our server remembered me from last time! The ambiance is upscale but cozy and just lovely. Every dish we had was fantastic and the soufflé is truly an incredible dessert. I'll definitely be back!!

Poulet Bleu was such a treat! The French onion soup, aligot potatoes, and chocolate soufflé are all a must. The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. I wasn't as impressed by my entree, poulet roti, but will definitely be back to try something else! I've heard great things about the duck but unfortunately they were all out this night. My boyfriend got the steak frites and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Our reservation was in the garden area which felt so classy yet whimsical either the fountain in the background. Make sure you have a reservation or get there early to snag a spot at the bar! Can't wait to come back

Service was excellent. Comfortable seating near the kitchen so we could watch the action. The strip steak with Cognac Peppercorn sauce was delicious. Tender, seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The fries are a bit lackluster but........ the side of roasted carrots were worth every penny. The Lyonnaise salad was light and refreshing. The made to order chocolate soufflé for two was a perfect ending. The Dirty French Martini was surprisingly delicious.

I can't stop thinking about how lucky we are to have a little piece of France right here in Pittsburgh at everyone's favorite French spot, Poulet Bleu. I was blessed to dine twice in October for their reopening and I still can't believe this truly beautiful space is back. (& that I went so long without it) My favorite dishes are the bread & butter, scallop appetizer, steak frites, cauliflower side and the chocolate mousse. I can't wait to see what fun things the team does and I'll be anticipating when the caramels return.

I finally had a chance to check out Poulet Bleu and it did not disappoint! We sat in the patio area, which in fact is closed in with heaters in the winter time. I appreciate that the space is functional year round. I started out with a martini. The drink presentation was very elegant. For entrees, I ordered the steak frites with Bernaise sauce. My boyfriend ordered the bistro burger and the charred cauliflower. We of course had to end it our meal with the chocolate soufflé! Everything we tasted was delicious. The service was outstanding as well. I love all of the little details added to make the visit more enjoyable (purse stand, comfortable chairs, complimentary coat check). I can't wait to visit again!

Several friends and I had a dinner reservation on Friday night and enjoyed a spread of fine cuisine and drinks, including French onion soup, escargot, truffle frites, lobster spaghetti, Lyonnaise salad, chef's cut, Kir Royale, Old Fashion l'Orange, and Treaty of Versailles. The restaurant is beautiful, especially with a fountain centered in what used to be the outdoor patio, now an enclosed dining room. We were seated right behind the host stand near the door, which kept being left open and unfortunately let a lot of cold air despite overhead heaters. Our waiter was attentive and patient as we yapped for three hours, but the overall service felt overwhelmed as they were behind with reserved seatings and my friend's non-alcoholic drink took 15-20 minutes to arrive. Overall, a lovely setting and good food, bon appétit!

Just dined here after we reopened and it was just as delicious as it used to be! We started with the scallop-wow! It's incredible, and served on a shell. Beautiful presentation! For dinner we ordered the halibut, hangar steak, aligot potatoes and truffle fries. Everything was amazing. The aligot potatoes didn't seem as cheesy as before, but they were still delicious. The service and ambiance was lovely. So happy it's back open!

Poulet Bleu is a special place! The food, the ambiance, and the service were all spectacular. We met a few friends for a wonderful Friday evening dinner. The renovated patio is cozy and well heated. I loved sitting right by the fountain. Our server was attentive, helpful, and just awesome! For drinks, get Bordeaux - you won't regret it. As for the food, I don't know where to start. It's all just so good. For appetizers, the mussels are excellent. The broth is full of tomato flavor, and I loved the shaved fennel. The beef tartar was the best I've ever had. So garlicky and delicious!!! The escargot was full of butter and herbs. Our baguette was fresh out of the oven. For an entree, I had the duck. Hands down the best duck I've had! Cooked to perfection and crispy skin!! The carrots are the best in Pittsburgh. The crème fraiche is the perfect accompaniment. The aligot potatoes had a cheese pull. Potatoes with a cheese pull are beyond extraordinary. Soufflé for dessert is a must. It's huge, delicious, and right out of the oven. They ask that you order all parts of your meal at once, so it's good to go in with an idea of what you want to eat. We love the DeShantz group, and Poulet Bleu is our favorite, and as their instagram says, we're so back!!!

Do you guys have foue gras?

Currently on the menu under the small plates they have paté which has foie gras.

When is happy hour? What are the deals?

It's 5-7 (I'm pretty sure). It's a good deal. They have various cocktail specials (they usually rotate). Always good and reasonable. The happy hour food is a smaller menu. It's always delicious. We tend to split a burger and fries and it's always… Read more

Our table had two servers assigned to us, which was interesting. I'll be honest, I was skeptical of the prices and that I would leave hungry, but I was proven wrong! I was extremely full, and we went during happy hour so we got one of those deals! Split between 3 people, the bill was pretty reasonable! We each got a personalized wine flight. I got a rosé, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio - the rosé was my fav! Everything else we ordered: -Whipped Sheep's cheese w/ truffle honey + chips -Jamón & Manchego Croquetas (happy hour deal) -Patatas Bravas (happy hour deal) -Mussels + homemade sausage -Albondigas aka spiced meatballs (happy hour deal) -Bacon wrapped dates -Potato tortilla -Spiced beef empanadas -Espresso martini -Chocolate cake Overall I really enjoyed everything! Hard to pick a favorite, but I'd say my least favorite thing was the bacon-wrapped dates (I just don't eat dates very much). I was a little disappointed in the size of the empanadas, I'm used to eating bigger ones from other restaurants, but they were still very tasty! The food came out fast and was super fresh! Our main server Becca was funny, relatable, and really made this such a fun experience! She also treated us to the sangria chug (not sure if that's the official name but that's what I'm calling it lol). The dim lighting and dark decor makes a perfect ambiance for a girls night or date night!

I've only ever been for brunch and the offerings were delicious. We chose from an array of tapas that included olive oil pancakes, roasted carrots, gambas al ajillo, hummus, focaccia and more. I had a glass of Tierra Limpia (brut/sparkling) that was very good. The atmosphere is modern with European flair. Good service.

The drink menu includes many wines from Bella Terra Vineyards as well as cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Cabins and, during the winter, igloos may be reserved for a fee. So far, my husband and I have been a customer of The Wine Cave twice. In winter 2023, I reserved one igloo bubble dome online for a 2-hour visit for a fee. An employee in the restaurant took our order for food and drinks. The weather outside was below freezing, but the interior of the igloo was warm because of a stove. The stove, though, did cause condensation to form on the walls of the igloo and to occasionally drip down. The igloo had eight chairs, a couple of small tables, and some blankets. While my husband and I waited on our foods to be cooked, we roasted marshmallows over a fire pit outside. An employee incorrectly delivered our foods to another customer in a nearby igloo, and that customer brought the foods to us. In 2025, my husband and I ate lunch inside the restaurant. The dining room contained reclaimed birch trees, artificial stalactites and cave paintings, and water. We were the only customers there, and we waited over 30 minutes for our foods to be brought out. The waitress did speak nicely to us and did check in on us later. Here are my reviews for our foods from both meals: S'mores - 5 stars - A s'mores kit contained the perfect amount of ingredients for my husband and I to each make two tasty s'mores. The kit included graham crackers, a Hershey's chocolate bar, and four large marshmallows. The fire pit worked well to roast our marshmallows. Spinach and artichoke dip - 5 stars - This dip looked and tasted differently than other restaurants' dips, but my husband and I really enjoyed the flavor from the cheddar cheese and garlic. The dip was served with many pieces of flat bread, which had a perfectly crispy exterior and chewy interior. My husband described this appetizer as "probably the best ever"! Apple-pecan salad - 5 stars - This salad was a large size, and it consisted of fresh and flavorful mixed greens, feta cheese, dried cranberries, apple chunks, pecans, and balsamic vinaigrette. Turkey-melt sandwich - 4.5 stars - This sandwich contained roasted turkey, chipotle-lime mayo, applewood bacon, avocado smash, smoked gouda cheese, and romaine lettuce. On the side were crispy fries. Shrimp diavola - 4.5 stars - I ordered this entree twice. It consisted of penne noodles, juicy shrimps, spinach, and a spicy tomato sauce. Ricotta and meatballs pizza - 3 stars - My husband commented that this pizza had toppings that were too chunky and insufficiently spread out. I thought that the ingredients tasted very fresh. Trico di crema - 4.5 stars - This slice of sponge cake was moist from milk, had a sweet icing, and had fresh berries on top. Peanut-butter temptation - 4.5 stars - This dessert had a peanut-butter center and a chocolate exterior. Winterbella and Diamond Reo wines - 4 stars - My husband and I are not wine connoisseurs. We selected two wines that we expected to taste grapey and sweet, and these wines tasted good. Cider - 4 stars - We ordered the Violet Cider that was supposed to taste like sweet blackberries, and we thought that it tasted good. House riesling - 4.5 stars - I enjoyed the flavor of this semi-sweet white wine.
