We went to dinner at Senza Wine Bar, an intimate and cozy spot located in Etna with 27 seats. We were seated right away and all of our food came out at appropriate intervals. In addition to an extensive wine list, they offer a thoughtful and flavorful variety of appetizers and small plates that are perfect for sharing along with a handful of cocktails. Lovely time at Senza! It's a cute, intimate space in Etna - perfect for a glass of wine and a selection of small plates. We tried the pull apart bread, pepperoni arancini, pork tenderloin, and pasta dish. My friends each had a rose and a red, and really enjoyed their wine selections. All were tasty! The servers couldn't have been nicer and more attentive as well. I also appreciate that they do no gratuity (which felt so strange!) so I know their staff is getting paid accordingly. It was the perfect outing for a weeknight, but would also be a great date night spot. I wouldn't necessarily recommend for a larger group, but you could make it work! read more

Nice little restaurant and wine bar with cocktails and beer options. Recently reopened with some of the Bar Marco people taking the space. The wine list has about 12 options. The menu items are smaller and great for sharing. The staff was very good and friendly. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great and described any wine we asked about, also some of the food items. Started with the Chickpea Panisse, fried little cubes that were rich and creamy with a hint of lemon and topped with a pickled onion. The white bean rigatoni was delicious. The duck dish was just ok - maybe not properly prepared- chewy and room temp s asks the veggie accompaniment was not tasty. The pasta was acceptable but not a standout. Broccolini was decent. We decided to try senza for the first time as a Tuesday date night. We ordered the onion rings, the pepperoni aroncini and the chickpea panisse. The onion rings came out first and were so salty they were inedible, the waitress handled it well and had them re-made but the remake was also very salty. Next came the Aroncini and Panisse, the Aroncini was very bland and the Panisse was well seasoned but felt like it was missing something. We finished with the pork tenderloin which took a while and was not fully rested before slicing, leaving red myoglobin on the plate, but the apricot romesco sauce was the highlight of the whole meal. We had a red and a white Cab Francc which were recommended by the sever and were well priced and delicious. The food was not well executed and was lacking finesse but the server was very attentive and very kind. The whole meal was $125 for 2 people. read more

Beautiful restaurant with the most beautiful plates and elegant candles. I love their selection of dining-ware and look forward to seeing what plate I get every time. Service is friendly but food can come a bit slow at times, understandably as they are a small team. Food is outstanding. One of the best restaurants I've tried all year. Menu is original, playful, and changes very often, always inviting guests to come back and try new dishes. My favorite is their burrata with persimmon and their steak. The burrata changes often, but hopefully they keep pairing it with fruit. I had the same dish previously with olives and wasn't a big fan of the olives. The steak is extremely juicy and tender. I love the side potatoes and asparagus as well. One of the best steaks in Pittsburgh. I've also tried their pork but felt it was a bit too heavy, especially when paired with polenta fries. I noticed they now changed it to an appetizer which I think will make it less heavy to eat. Strawberry cake is also delightful. Very fluffy cake. Their portion sizes are huge while the prices are very fair. Honestly one of the best fine dining places in Pittsburgh, sad to hear they are closing after July. read more

This place is so cute in Etna! They are run by a couple that cooks and bakes. It's a small space but such a gem. I went here for brunch but my friends have come for dinner and love it. Brunch was pretty good! They have a decent selection of dishes. We loved the French toast, ropa vieja, burrata, and croque monseiur. It's nice that they change up the menu from time to time too. They have a pastry case with a lot of different goodies in it. I didn't love their coffee since it was a bit on the acidic side for me but I love their plate and glassware. read more

Senda is one of our top three go-to spots for dinner or brunch. Matt and Jess have created a space were you feel like you are going to v to visit your favorite cousin or best friend from college, if they could dazzle in the kitchen. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted as if you have been coming there for years. The food is impeccable and I will admit that we always over order because as soon as you walk in and see the pastry case, you will understand. From the pastries to dinner, everything item is made with love that you can taste and feel It nourishing your sole. They are a great addition to Etna and trust me, Etna IS NOT that far away from the city. I would recommend reservations for brunch or dinner, unless you plan on getting there right when they open. Really charming spot with a lovely husband and wife team and great food! Pittsburgh needs more places like this. We had such a nice time relaxing with some glasses of wine and delicious food. The service was great too - always there when we needed it but we never felt rushed or anything like that, and I loved how dishes were explained to us as they were brought out. Food wise, I really enjoyed the charcuterie - the cheeses were delicious and I liked the variety of accoutrements, including a delicious rhubarb jam. I also loved the crab pasta - it was a special but I definitely think it should be on the permanent menu! The other dish we got was the Korean fried chicken - it was good but it didn't taste particularly Korean imo. To me, the crab pasta was the standout of the night! Ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches for pick on March 3rd at about 10:30am. Upon pick up, I found it easy to find a place on the street to park. It's decorated in the new age standard white washed vintage modern vibe and clean. It is inviting. They were already busy and all but 1 table full. As I waited for my food, I saw everyone trying their best to enjoy their morning meals and snacks. Staff was bustling away and busy. A family sat in front by the window, parents casual sipping their coffee while their 2 boys rolled around on the bench seat, disturbing everyone in the place.... this is not ok, parents! As I waited, I ordered 2 cinnamon pastries. Once home, the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches were good but I wasn't a fan of the sausage as it was a bit fatty but the little mixed green salad came with it and the dressing was perfect, so that was nice and unexpected. My total for all was $32. A bit more than I would have expected but fair. The cinnamon sugar pastery was amazing, and everything seemed to be prepared with care. I highly recommend visiting Senza, the charming 3-month-old restaurant on Butler Street in Etna PA. We enjoyed an amazing prix fixe menu last Thursday - their monthly Thursday Dinner (complete with wine pairings) for $119 per person and they have a "no-gratuity" policy. The restaurant is small, cosy and charming - about 9 tables inside - and the founders and staff are two young couples. At the moment, they are open Friday (3-9 pm) and Saturday and Sunday (10 am - 3pm). You should make a reservation soon - or at least get on their list for an invite to the Monthly Thursday Dinner. Wait too long, and you'll be lucky to get in at all - it is THAT good. read more
