My favorite wine bar in pittsburgh! Jim was so sweet and the whole staff got us seated and served right away. You immediately feel like family here. Great ambiance, great people and great wine!

I stumbled on this place as I was exploring the area after checking in to my bnb. It was a great find! You can buy bottles from the front area and have tastings or buy by the glass by the bar. It's byo food if you want to nosh while you sip. Such friendly and welcoming owners. I don't usually drink Italian wines so Robin introduced me to some new ones and a Chianti I can sip on. I tried the Vignaricco and the Tazzelenghe. Thr latter reminds you of whiskey, my kind of wine. I enjoyed both but I could sit with the Tazzelenghe again. I asked to taste a dry white and Robin suggested the Chardonnay and Friulano. I don't usually drink Chardonnay on its own, always with food, but this was a didifferent Chardonnay. BUT THE STAR! THE STAR WAS THE FRIULANO! I have never heard of this. I could not catch an aroma. It is so clean. This was a wonderful discovery. Thank you, Robin! I bought a bottle of Friulano and some of the local chocolate they were selling from Pollack's Candies. Highly recommend stopping in, tastings, drinking, chatting.

Spill wine bar is the BEST hidden gem in Broomfield!!!! I walk past here all the time and finally had a chance to go, and I truly had the best time! The owners Jim and his wife are the sweetest people. The business model of Spill is to allow costumers to try as many wines as they please before deciding on a glass of wine- they WANT you to love your selection before purchasing it! I personally love this idea because I never know what I want and love learning and trying new wines! The place is BYO-food, and they provide silverware and cutlery. The whole experience was just so amazing and the vibes in there are so friendly and sweet. I'm already looking forward to when I can go back!

We stopped in after dinner in Bloomfield to check out this place. We were super excited to try some direct sourced Italian wines after spending two weeks traveling in Italy earlier this year. What we didn't expect was the lovely woman who worked there sitting down at our table to explain their wines and find the perfect one for us to try. She was really terrific and we ended up with the Maniago Pinot Nero red wine that was fantastic! They give you a nice pour too which was welcome. It's a super cute place and was filled with locals enjoying some delicious wines with friends.

Super cute little wine bar in town! Owners were so friendly and knowledgeable about wines. They offer free samples until you find your favorite choice of wine to order by glass or grab a bottle to go.

I can guarantee you will have some fun here, and perhaps learn a couple things about Italian wine. The proprietor is enthusiastic and welcoming. You get to taste everything before you buy, and the taste is substantial, and so is the pour. There is a wide selection of Italian wine and will receive a lot of help in deciding, based on your personal preference. I noticed several customers following the BYOF policy, and accepted food delivered from a nearby restaurant. The space is inviting, and the bar itself is custom built. There is a broad range of prices, starting from single digit up to $30 a glass. All the traditional Italian wines are there, plus some others you may not have heard of. Jump in!

What is happening to all of my reviews?!? I made one for this place when they first opened a couple of years ago. Where has it gone? Anyway, it's a little neighborhood wine bar with very basic interior. The wine selection is good but super pricey since al mostly imported from Italy.

I was meaning to visit this place for a while, but on a random Saturday walk I decided to pop in. (I've been here more than a few times since then) When I first ventured in, I was greeted by an employee who I can only describe as awesome. I've been getting more into wine during the pandemic, and was about to speak to folks about my background, the wines in the store, get suggestions. Just a one stop shop for everything you need. Many of the wines in the shop are sold by companies who have been in the business for a while (some as old as 400 years). I've had about 5 of the wines, and have not been disappointed yet. The photo attached has been my favorite so far. I really love just popping into the shop, and admiring the selections/chatting with the staff. Highly recommend everyone popping in.

Had such a great night out with friends at Spill! The space was cozy and welcoming, the owners were extremely attentive and helpful. She even found a red wine I liked and ordered! It is BYOF so bring a board of your own or order from one of the restaurants nearby.

Love this spot! There is trivia every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. It does get pretty crowded tho so reservations in advanced at required. We made a reservation the week before and we were a party of 9. They sell wines by the glass, half glass, and bottle here. You can try as many as you'd like before you get glasses or bottles. All the wine here is Italian which is cool. There's a bar for seating as well as tables. They always give you pistachios here for a snack. You can also bring in food from outside as well which is really nice. I love that this place is family owned, the owners are always so nice and welcoming. On regular nights, it's definitely less crowded and has much more of a chill vibe. You can also bring your dog I think.

I love this wine shop/wine bar! They carry amazing Italian wines from several different regions of Italy! It is a small space inside, but if you walk through the shelves of wine, there are tables, chairs and a small bar. Wine is served by the glass or the bottle, and the owners are more than willing to let you taste the wines first. You can take your own snacks too which is cool since there are so many food options nearby! The owners, Lauren, and Sam are so knowledgeable and fun to talk to. They make you feel like you are family there. The wines by the glass are reasonably priced, especially for wines that you can't buy anywhere else. The Tazzelenghe (sp?), Taurasi from Danimi and the In & Out from Collefrisio were my favorites! The Taurasi is 100% Aglianico grapes, but the owner Jim explained how they let the grapes dry out in Italy and then crush them. It makes it a super bold and dry wine. I think he told me this wine also comes from volcanic soil. It was fun to learn about and even more fun to taste. ;) If you describe what type of wine you are looking for, they will help you find just the right one! Next time I would like to try a few wines or the rose! They also have free wifi if you want to work on a laptop at one of their tables. It is a comfortable spot and was not loud at all when I went on a weekday. I love that this wine bar is open every day of the week since so many places are closed on Mondays in Pittsburgh. I am already planning what cheeses and snacks to pick up on the way next time!

Get there. Now! Walked by tonight and saw Spill was finally open! People are there and enjoying some wine. I'm meeting Hubs for dinner down the street, but I make sure to tell him the fabulous news (and make sure we only have a drink each at dinner). It's after 8:30 and we stop in. The crowd has dispersed, but they were still opened. We learn the unique operations and how they have wine direct from Italian vineyards, so nothing you find in state stores. Jim and Robin, the partners and operators tonight, offered tastings for us to try. It was a great vibe and they are in tune to people's preferences. We're dry red people and the Rosso was perfecto. It's a very chill, neighborhood vibe. We met more people as we're tasting and loved the company and conversation. We walked out at 10:30 PM after a few tastes/glasses and a bottle in hand. They're still figuring out the hours, but was assured they'll be prepared for Little Italy Days! Definitely stop by! It's a gem. For Bloomfielders, the access to wine has much improved!

I hate that it took me so long to give SPiLL a try, and despite the recent circumstances, I'm glad I did. Since the liquor stores are closed and only doing limited phone and online offerings I knew it was time to seek out local spots. Walked into SPiLL last week, masks and all, and were greeted by the owners who were so knowledgeable and helpful. The gentleman talked me through all of the different options and made some recommendations based upon my taste. SPiLL has wines from three different vineyards in Italy, all of which are too small to be in state stores - which is even better in my opinion! It took me back to my travels in the Tuscany region of Italy. So far, I've tried 3/4 wines and all have been great. The Collefrissio pinot grigio was my favorite so far. Expect the prices to be slightly higher than the state stores, but well worth it in my eyes. If you buy 6 wine bottles, you'll get a slight discount - 5% if I remember correctly. Can't wait to go back for a proper wine tasting.

Our table had two servers assigned to us, which was interesting. I'll be honest, I was skeptical of the prices and that I would leave hungry, but I was proven wrong! I was extremely full, and we went during happy hour so we got one of those deals! Split between 3 people, the bill was pretty reasonable! We each got a personalized wine flight. I got a rosé, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio - the rosé was my fav! Everything else we ordered: -Whipped Sheep's cheese w/ truffle honey + chips -Jamón & Manchego Croquetas (happy hour deal) -Patatas Bravas (happy hour deal) -Mussels + homemade sausage -Albondigas aka spiced meatballs (happy hour deal) -Bacon wrapped dates -Potato tortilla -Spiced beef empanadas -Espresso martini -Chocolate cake Overall I really enjoyed everything! Hard to pick a favorite, but I'd say my least favorite thing was the bacon-wrapped dates (I just don't eat dates very much). I was a little disappointed in the size of the empanadas, I'm used to eating bigger ones from other restaurants, but they were still very tasty! The food came out fast and was super fresh! Our main server Becca was funny, relatable, and really made this such a fun experience! She also treated us to the sangria chug (not sure if that's the official name but that's what I'm calling it lol). The dim lighting and dark decor makes a perfect ambiance for a girls night or date night!

I had a glass of Tierra Limpia (brut/sparkling) that was very good. The atmosphere is modern with European flair. Good service.

After waiting 30 minutes for it, they decide to come out and tell me that they are out of bread pudding. It would've been beneficial to know that prior to paying, however, they did not even offer a refund. Instead, they told me they would give me a tiramisu instead. On day two, I placed an order for a salad with a chicken skewer upcharge. Upon getting my order and opening the container, I saw that the skewer was not in there despite being charged $10 for it. The other items here at the restaurant were not good, and I do not recommend this as they don't want to make good quality food. Lobster ravioli is pretty dry and tough to chew. Tiramisu is missing that earthy coffee flavor. Chicken caprese says that it comes with fresh mozzarella, however, they only gave us small circle of cheese on one side of the sandwich (covers about 1/4 of the sandwich). Do not get the truffle fries, they are the exact same taste as the normal fries. Last, the crab and shrimp dip is highly inconsistent. The first day, it was good and actually had pieces of shrimp. The second day, zero shrimp. In the end, this restaurant has several deficiencies that they do not seem willing to resolve.

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round.
