I went to @heybabe.pgh and it instantly made sense why people talk about it. Everything came out exactly how it should-crispy potatoes that didn't last long, and a steak cooked perfectly, no overthinking it. I stayed on my no drinking and tried a mocktail espresso martini with the girls and it still felt like the full experience, but I already know I'm coming back for the cocktails. It's small, kind of tucked away, and has this really easy energy to it. The kind of place where you're just in the moment-sharing everything, ordering "just one more thing," and realizing the whole night went by without anyone checking the time.
I really enjoyed our meal here . We had some service kinks but the manager made it 100 right which is why I'm keeping a 5 star rating. The restaurant is elegant, modern , and has a young lively vibe. Music is fairly loud so wouldn't recommend for elderly. The tuna tartar was OUTSTANDING. We enjoyed the eggplant and potato's as well . I wasn't the biggest fan of the tofu nor carrot hummus but others in our party enjoyed those items. Burgers were a hit amongst the teens and my husband loved his short ribs . Great drinks, friendly service, solid food . Highly recommend for a younger crowd. One of the best restaurants I have been to in Pittsburgh for sure
A winner. Cute little first floor of a hotel spot. Perfect for after work happy hour. It's cozy, Airy, but still intimate with adorable plush sofas and a nice long stocked bar. Service was helpful, attentive, and friendly. The food was delicious. Thank GOD!!! Good food in Pittsburgh is not super easy to find. Most spots are average. This place has a dish for every palate. Good job, chef. Highly recommend if you are in the area and don't want to be disappointed. We will be back soon.
We've been wanting to try Hey Babe for a while and found an excuse to go on a Thursday evening. Parking was fairly easy in the lot behind the hotel. Upon entering, it's bustling but a table had cleared. They got it ready for us and we were seated. I suspect folks were wrapping up their happy hour deal as it slowed down steadily during our experience. The venue used to be an old gym so the layout is open and the sound bounces off making the space loud. The drink menu included a small selection of drafts, with an equal number of bottles/cans. The wine menu is more extensive and they seem to have creative cocktails. Food wise, I had a hard time deciding as the menu centered on a few similar proteins --lamb, salmon, pork belly. We ended up ordering the below: Salmon small plate - Lacked flavor and underwhelming. The salmon skin chicharron was an interesting take. Lamb hummus - The lamb was cubed, not cooked so you can easily blend it. Cesar salad - Interesting take with granola like croutons Pork belly sandwich - Average
Went to hey babe back in August. So excited for this restaurant. They have great cocktails and really well prepared and presented dishes. Some highlights were the shrimp with polenta. Oh yum. The picture tells you all you need to know. And the crispy potatoes. But everything was excellent. Including the Vietnamese coffee and chocolate tart (how can you go wrong with coffee and chocolate together for dessert???)
A group of us stopped by for happy hour on Wednesday and it wasn't too difficult to get seats at the bar and a table. Their happy hour is a fantastic deal with certain discounted cocktails along with 15% off of food. The inside is fairly large with a bunch of tables, bar seating, and an overflow room of sorts across the hallway. The five-spiced pork belly was absolutely fantastic and the cocktails in general are also quite good!

A lovely new hip bar with many food options - both shared plates and entrees. The babaganoush plate was delicious and beautifully plated and the crispy potatoes were everything I didn't know I needed! The service was quick and yet attentive. They have a lot of creative takes on classic cocktails here and use a lot of top shelf choices -- many that I haven't heard of before. My cocktail was strong. Might try something different next time. And I'll be back for sure!

I went back to Hey Babe for some food and it was incredible! They do not take reservations just as a heads up, but there's another room to wait in with your drinks from the bar! This place has a lot of shareable plates as well as mains. The vibes are modern and cozy, and I love what they've done with the space. I definitely want to go back to try some more of the menu! The crispy eggplant was the star of the show. Their drink selections were great and we all liked what we ordered! The crispy potatoes were yummy, but I wish there was more of the sauce. It was all at the bottom and it was so good! The crab cake was also very fresh and paired with a great topping. I forgot to take a picture of the silken tofu, and for not being a tofu fan, I really liked it! It was warm and melted onto the rest of the dish. To finish it off, we had the "little something sweet" which was perfect to end the meal!

Such an amazing time I had to return asap! Had a lovely girls cocktail night at Hey Babe and enjoyed drinks with dessert! Their monkey bread is delectable and it wasn't too packed for a Friday night so we were seated right away. Heads up that the bathroom is downstairs in a very random hallway but it should be easy to find with the signage!
We stopped in for happy hour and were really impressed by the service and the deals. The staff went above and beyond to arrange tables and seating so that our group of 6 could sit together comfortably. The $9 cocktails were perfectly made, and the small shareable plates were just right for splitting between us. Both the beet hummus and crispy eggplant were fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.

My friend and I went there on a Friday night. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived around 6pm, but it was definitely busier by 8pm. I would recommend getting a reservation for the weekend. The restaurant is located at the bottom of the Maverick and the decor is absolute gorgeous. By the end, I was convinced that their wallpaper would look great in my living room. Our waiter was very lovely and attentive. There was one small issues with our appetizers which resulted in them being delayed. He took full responsibility and made it right. I really liked my pear centric cocktail, it had a very appealing purple shade. My salmon was very good with nice bright flavors. It was a little spicier than expected but not too hot either. The coconut rice was good to help with that. The Korean fried tofu was perfectly crunchy and slightly spicy (this time it was expected). Good flavors to it. The babaganoush was excellent with all the extra little toppings on top. The seeded crackers were excellent and I wished I had ask if they made them there. My friend had the crispy eggplant and bread service (no gluten for me sadly). She said everything was good as well. We shared the Japanese cheesecake. It was absolutely delightful. The texture is so light and creamy! The banana pieces with the creme brulee crust were so good. Excellent caramel sauce. Overall, trendy space with good food and drinks! read more

I had no idea this place existed and I was parked right in front of it! This was a great find on the Best Bites of East Liberty tour. The Mini crispy eggplant with grilled hot and sweet peppers, whipped feta, oregano, pine nuts, and basil oil was one of my favorite dishes on the tour. Seems like a cool and trendy place For a date night or special celebration. Staff was welcoming and I appreciated being able to check out their menu! read more
Tip: always check their socials first to make sure it's open during regular posted hours. Their Golden Hour from 4 pm- 6 pm on a bright summer evening was a magical experience. Light pouring in through colorful stain glass windows, comfy bar stool chairs, plenty of staff and in a not-yet-crowded spacious room layout. There is a 15% discount on food in addition to their drink menu discounts. I had a hard time deciding which small plates to try which means I need to return again soon before the menu changes. It is not inexpensive and thankfully the ingredients and flavors were high caliber. Service was friendly and top notch. Whitfield Street parking is regularly enforced so I recommend not risking illegal parking if you can't find a spot and use the metered parking lot behind the hotel (S. Beatty St). read more

My wife and I met with friends here for dinner and drinks and it did not disappoint! First, this restaurant is located in the Maverick hotel and second you need to be aware that they do not do reservations and when you arrive at the restaurant you seat yourselves. If you have a party of four or larger it is best to come before 6:00pm. We arrived around 5:30 and found seating for 4 people. The service there is top notch! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the food, professional, and our food came out fast!Drinks were excellent! Espresso, babe , oh hey, buddy, and doctor's orders were delicious! Espresso, babe was delicious with a fresh espresso. If you like a little bit of spice in your drink, doctor's orders is what you need! Small Share, Large share, and Salads: This menu was fire! For the small share we ordered: five-spiced pork belly, salmon tartare, crispy eggplant, and crispy potatoes. Let's just say we finished all of the appetizers because it was delicious and the portion size was perfect. I highly recommend those appetizers! Large share: heirloom tomato risotto was excellent! Amazing flavors and the portion size was perfect. My wife loved The Pittsburgh wedge salad and said it was fabulous and that the portion size was perfect. Our friend's ordered the strip steak and it was cooked to perfection and the glaze really added to the deliciousness. If you're looking for a nice little date night spot, come to Hey Babe! read more
Loved loved loved this place. The atmosphere is great, food and drinks are delicious. We went there on a Saturday night and it was busy but we were able to find a seat easily, especially since it's walk ins only. We enjoyed a handful of their cocktails, all super unique and balanced. Their food was great, on the smaller size plate wise but packed with flavor. Excited to come back! read more

Finally got to try out one of the newest spots in East Liberty, Hey Babe! When we walked in, the owner Rob greeted us at the door. It was pretty busy but they were on top of greeting and making a game plan to accommodate what we wanted for the evening. There was a wait but it was no fuss at all as they have an entire area with table to wait as you enjoy a drink from the bar. Rob kept an eye on all the groups waiting and got everyone seated in no time. Once we were seated, Jake greeted us with water and guided us through the menu. We enjoyed shared plates and had a lovely time. We absolutely loved the eggplant dish! Definitely check Hey Babe out if you are in the area. read more
This is such a great new spot in East Liberty! Service was awesome, the staff was so nice and had awesome recs! I really like their house made pandan soda, I've never had anything like it. The food was really good! We liked everything we got. The crispy eggplant was a standout and I'm not even a feta person. It's really interesting fusion food. Definitely recommend that dish. I liked the salmon tartar and the silken tofu. The crispy potatoes are so good here too. You gotta get dessert! They're really thoughtful and not too sweet. We loved the strawberry trifle. Definitely recommend this spot for drinks and a tapas style/family style dinner. The vibes are so nice in here too! Very nice decor and trendy bar. read more
This place is so great!!! Such a cute hidden gem in East liberty. They officially opened on Monday and it's already so busy inside!! Cocktails are so great and the food looks super interesting, a lot of Asian twists on some classic items like an oyster mushroom po boy. I already can't wait to come back for happy hour and try some more cocktails and explore the food menu! read more

Heard about the soft opening and jumped at the opportunity. The space has been designed beautifully. Lovely windows and decor. The service was incredible and the staff knowledgeable about the menu. Amazing cocktails, impressive wine list and the food was next level. 100% read more
