"I wonder how many phones get dropped into the river," I think, sitting on the roped mesh over water itself. Also, needing a break from being connected 24/7, would it be so bad if my phone fell in? ... but I digress. This is a welcome spot for those of us wanting waterfront drinks. And you can't get more water than this- it's all around. You have to cross a ramp to access the space. As an old yinzer, I remember this spot was formerly the boat launch for the kayaks. Boats can pull up and get a drink. It's hot with the sun but the canopy helps. It's so relaxing to be on the water. Kid friendly. Brew gentlemen is on tap! They did run out of water so make sure to bring plenty. Also, limited food, pack some too. Finally, bathrooms are porta johns under the bridge.

Visited the shore thing yesterday. Such a neat concept on the river. We enjoyed a beverage and just hung out for a while. The service was fast, we were able to walk up and order without any wait. They serve Brew Gentlemen beer and a variety of cocktails. It's such a cool vibe, just sitting in the river taking in the view. My only complaint is I wish the food menu had a little more variety m.

I went to visit Shore Thing again on a Tuesday afternoon/early evening. I was walking along the north shore river trail and decided to randomly stop in for a drink. The day that I visited, they had live music which added a nice vibe to the visit. Shore Thing is suitable to visit alone or with a group. I ordered a cocktail and found a seat overlooking the river. The staff are always very kind and helpful. I'm so happy to have this spot on the river to enjoy the outdoors and to relax and have a cocktail.

This gets five stars for river ambiance alone! How long have we been saying, "Why aren't there more riverfront places when we're surrounded by three rivers?!" This is a wonderful place to hang out and chill on the river. They have a decent beer and drink selection and plenty of seating options. There are these cool rope hammocks to lounge in. They also have larger and smaller tables and a few perimeter seats to take in the jet skiers and boats passing by. There are these magical wind chimes made out of shells or mica that sound so cool when the breeze blows too.

Pittsburgh has needed to do something with its riverfront for years in my opinion. Philadelphia's businesses have us beat by a mile so I'm giving Shore Thing 5 stars just for the idea. Drinks were incredible, hotdogs always a hit. I hope this comes back yearly and is joined by other bars/businesses along the water.

Absolutely love this new spot in town! I think they need to make these all around the waterfront. They have a vendor here serving up some good food! Service was fast and the people are nice! They didn't have a lot of the items on their online menu when I went but they did have their sandwiches. I really liked the pulled mushroom sandwich! It was so good! This is a great place to get a drink and hang out. The views are unparalleled. Definitely a new favorite in town. It does get crowded and getting a seat is competitive.

What a relaxing, chill spot right on the water. Unfortunately, when we stopped, they were out of all the sandwich options. We had some local beers and just enjoyed watching the boats, kayakers, and jet skis on the water. It really is a perfect spot to enjoy the city skyline and relax.

On a sunny Sunday morning at 10am they had a free yoga on the river. What a gorgeous view and peaceful flow. It was pretty hot but they'll continue doing loads of free events until about October. They have a few menu items and Brew Gentleman tap. I got the pulled mushroom sandwich which was outrageously delicious. Limited supply so get there early! They do take card and it was pretty quick service. Can't wait to keep going throughout the rest of the summer!

A nice temporary set up along the shoreline down from PNC Park. It is free to walk on. They offer drinks and some snacks. There are sidewalk chalk drawings along the walkway of local history and people. Nice to see more venues added on the North Shore.

Great bar on the river. They do have a certain capacity but we were able to walk right on on a Saturday around 4. We had a short wait about 15 min for a drink. They have cocktails and beer from brew gentlemen. Lucky for us some seats opened up while we were in line. Only annoying thing is that it seemed some people there were taking up seats that hadn't purchased a drink from the bar. However it was a wonderful spot and would recommend to anyone for a place to grab a drink before a pirate game

This place is fun! The drinks were good but they don't have a huge selection so if you're picky maybe look at the menu first. Service was quick even with it being so busy. We didn't get food since it was busy and they didn't have a huge menu (definitely better options near by). However they have amazing views and great vibes!! This worth a visit for sure and we will go again this summer!

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.

Love the lighting and the chandeliers near the bar area. Our server was wonderful. She was very on top of everything and even laughed at our jokes. What a gem. Cocktail menu is deceiving as they didn't have all of the ones listed but they added a few extra that our server was kind enough to bring to our attention. I ordered a daiquiri that was not listed and it was so good. More like thick juice than a cocktail. Didn't even taste like it had alcohol in it. GF ordered a jalapeño marg that was also more sweet than spicy but had the cutest little garnishes. There were many appetizers that were tempting but you really can't ever go wrong with a burrata, especially fried burrata. Theirs was served on a bed of tomato sauce and something green, likely basil related. So fucking delicious. Only thing that would have been better was if there was some bread to put that shit on. Love that they had a specific vegetarian entree: roasted spaghetti squash with creamy spinach, chickpeas, and arugula. This was very good but it was basically cream soup in the bowl with spaghetti squash. I ordered the Asiago stuffed gnocchi with corn in what was billed as a elotes type vibe. Very good and creative. They also have champ bongs which is incredible. How is this not more popular??
