I've been a long time fan of Cinderlands, finally got to try their wing night. I ordered Buffalo, Carolina BBQ, and this month's featured flavor, Orange Teriyaki boneless wings. The flavors were as expected with ample amount of sauce on each. The quality for the price was top notch. They weren't tiny bites and were decently filling. I don't like that you have to pay for both a side of ranch and celery($.75 each), when most wing places provide it complementary. We also had the French onion dip and fries which never disappoint. The Ruby's Red Raspberry Tea was so fresh tasting. I really enjoyed this drink. The Lewis beer was a good Hazy too. Service is 5/5. The staff were very attentive and quick to remove used plates. We throughly enjoyed our wing night experience and will add it to the rotation!

Solid brewery. I order an IPA and the beer tender was very friendly. The location was very large and they had a menu that looked appealing. I would def eat here if I come back. Good place for large groups and good beer too.

Always love visiting here in the day or at night. Very good menu selection. Their drink options are plenty. Always had polite experiences with the bartenders and servers. Upstairs is great & so is the downstairs area! Can't go wrong. And in the warmer months, they have outdoor seating in front.

Another specific review for the #lenten season fish fry. Preparation - Small soft bun, crunchy beer batter and tarter. Added American cheese for a slight up charge. High quality fish with an awesome crunchy batter if you prefer beer batter. I don't love tarter but this was exceptional. I'd prefer a cocktail sauce option(not available) but they do have cholula hot sauce and ketchup to get close. While the bun was high quality it didn't necessarily hold up, but maybe I ate it too slow. The sides were not my favorite as it was too much fried carbs. I certainly appreciated the vinegar based slaw but would personally back down on the sugar. Individuality they were all solid but together was a lot. However if the sides are my only semi complaint I think that's a great sign. Also we are clearly having amazing beer with your fried fish so that's a massive win. Anyway this is more than a 4 but not quite a five. Great stop especially if you want to be in one of the best areas of Pittsburgh.

A quality spot for a team event, happy hour, or for a drink just outside the Strip District. If you're sitting at a table, you scan the QR code to place your order for food and drinks. Everything comes to your table quickly. The smashed wagyu burger was very tasty with a generous portion of the dijonnaise and the pickles were crisp. I enjoyed the side Caesar salad, but it was a $5 upcharge over the chips. That was a little too steep. No issues with the service. There was little interaction due to ordering through the QR code, but everyone that came to our table was friendly. It was a little pricey but not outrageous. Any sit-down spot is going to charge around $15 for a burger; mine was $17. Again, the $5 upcharge for the Caesar salad was steep. On a scale of 1-5: Food - 4 Service - 4 Price - 2

What a great spot. We sat outside on the rooftop because the weather was gorgeous! Even with the construction, the views were great. Both my coworker and I got the chicken Caesar wraps, and they were so good. Chicken was crispy, dressing was just right, and the whole thing held together (which is a big deal for a wrap). But the fries. Incredible. They were lighter and more like a shoestring style. to be honest, I could've eaten a whole plate of them. Paired with their ranch, mmmm! I'm a Corona girl, so I went with their lime lager, and it was light, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted with this meal. It was easy to drink, especially on a warm day outside. Service was easy! You order from the QR code and the servers who brought the food and drinks was kind. The experience was just easy and enjoyable. If you're in Pittsburgh and want good food, drinks, and a rooftop spot, check it out.

The thing you'll love about being here is beyond is it very well laid out. the other thing that you would like. Is the ease to place an order which can be done individually even if you're in a group. The food is just OK. The ambience is definitely good and better than the food. the service is also good. The food looks better than it tastes- The pastrami dish needed more pastrami and less potatoes- you paid for potatoes! That being said - I'd go back!!

Our office had a retreat and we came here for lunch as a large group and they did an excellent job serving us! The grilled chicken sandwich was delicious, loved the chips and can't wait to go back and try more. Seems like a great venue and they are great with large groups,

Cinderlands has become a place where I like to meet up with friends. The vibes are chill, the staff are great, and they have a nice outdoor space. I recently met two friends here for drinks on a Saturday evening. We started sitting outside but it was too warm so we moved indoors. They have a pretty extensive drink menu that has a little something for everyone. They have a QR code at each table for easy ordering. You order on your phone and staff brings your food/drink to your table when it's ready. Easy peasy!

What a lovely way to ring in the new year. Spending it for their Hair of the Hog event was a great choice. The ticket included a beautifully curiated menu of a WHOLE HOG BBQ, smoked meats, New Orleans BBQ shrimp , roasted veggies, twice baked potatoes, cornbread and more! My favorite was probably the campfire mushrooms ‍-they were seriously so good. I paired Czech Them Buns, Czech 10° pale lager, 4.3% with my meal and finished with Squish Ink, Black IPA, 6.9%. All this PLUS music by @epicastnetwork This was a great event-but I always love this spot for their great beer, delicious and affordable food, and fun events. I particularly like their shuffle board and bocce downstairs and nice outdoor patio upstairs in the summer.

We stopped in Cinderlands for dinner with family on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not busy the evening we arrived. Cinderlands has a great atmosphere; very clean and open. We were seated promptly. You order through your phone, which allows you to keep a tab going We ordered the bowl of fries, wagyu burger, buffalo chicken dip, and a potato gruyere pizza. Honestly, it's like they tried too hard to come up with 'unique' offerings but with unique combinations comes the risk of missing the mark. The food is certainly not bad, but every item has just a touch of something that makes it not quite work. Years ago, the duck poutine with kimchi was excellent and it seemed Cinderlands had a better mastery of flavors. For the price, we will certainly skip coming back.

We were exploring the strip district and stumbled upon this location. Let me begin by saying it is incredibly large, and there are plenty of spots for people to hang out, enjoy some beverages, and play games. If you have a large group, this is the perfect place for you to bring them! They offer a huge selection of beers as well as seltzers and sours. They also have a pretty extensive menus so it's a great place where you can grab beer and food. My husband had the Cinderfest (they are Oktoberfest style beer). He really enjoyed it and loved that it was easy drinking. I started with a flight and was able to sample several different ones but by far my favorite became the black and yellow yinzerade. There is a parking garage that is located literally like right behind them or right beside them so it's perfect. As parking can be very tight from a street parking perspective.

Great spot for a drink and food that's a few blocks away from the business of the main Strip. It's conveniently located next to a parking garage and the self-ordering makes it easier to get in and out if you are under a time constraint! If you don't like beer, no big deal - Cinderlands has a lot of great wine and cocktails to choose from! They also have a variety of food options - I love the Brussels sprout appetizer w/pesto and couscous, it's so flavorful and definitely enough for a meal if you're looking for a smaller plate!

My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.

The building itself was once the St. John the Baptist Church; in true Pittsburgh fashion, people restored and converted the original building to make it a functional restaurant. A note about the interior dining room: you can either sit on their dining side (which has larger tables) or the bar side (which has some booths but is primarily high tables and chairs). The menu has a good assortment of appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, and other entrées. They used to have both traditional pierogies as well as a "flavor of the week" option, although these days they seem to only serve the traditional ones. The menu is refreshed somewhat regularly, so over the years I've sampled salads, fish dishes, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. It's hard to have a "go to" order when it might disappear, but you'll likely find something good when you visit, given the range of options. (Currently, I'm a BIG fan of the Street Corn Arancini. Definitely give these a try while you can!) While the food won't necessarily knock your socks off, let's remember: this is the Church BREW Works. The beer and cocktail menus are definitely where it's at. According to Untappd their current beer menu includes an assortment of Belgian, Porter, Lager, Pilsner, IPA, and Stout style beers. I'm more of a cocktail person myself so I always sample something new when I dine here (again: the menu is refreshed regularly), and I have yet to be disappointed! Like I said at the start, this is one of those places that we try at least once. I'll still come here with friends for sure, but this is admittedly not an establishment that I'll go out of my way to visit. It's fine - not amazing, not bad, but fine.

So have you seen that meme out on the InterT00bZ that's like "Hey let's go to that new beer place…read morethey have $27 warm hazy IPAs in the middle of a parking lot?" Yeah, that's the vibe I was getting at Velum. There was a lot to like and a lot to not like about this place, so I'll start with the bad and end on a positive note. First off, it's in an old brewery and it looks like a warehouse. I'm not sure if they still brew their own beers but it straight up looks like an old warehouse. I've seen abandoned warehouses that look less like a warehouse than Velum. Maybe some people like that vibe but I felt like the cops were going to bust in and shut the party down like a teen coming-of-age movie. The taproom is all the way in the back, and so are the bathrooms, so if you break the magic circle, prepare to get your steps in. There's no kitchen. They DO partner with a food truck but they're getting their own review. I paid $10 for an average cocktail and $8 for a 12 oz cider that frankly wasn't that great. Either better drinks or bigger drinks, please. And everything is community seating. I don't hate the idea but I didn't care for the vibe so when I found a smaller table my friend and I grabbed it and boarded it. With that being said, there was a lot to like too. First off, we were there for a pinball night, and they have a great selection of pinball tables there, both classic and modern. I really would have liked information on joining a pinball league, but that wasn't offered anywhere that I could find. Plus on that particular night it was $10 for all-you-can-play, so we definitely got our money's worth there. The staff that I did interact with were super nice. That goes a long way and saved this from being a worse review. And the place is dog friendly, which is always a huge plus for me. All in all, I had a decent night. But the question as always is if I'll go back. Unfortunately, probably not of my own accord. If there's another pinball event, I'll definitely go, but it's not going into my rotation of cool spots. Not every place is meant for me, and that's fine.
