Food/service/ambiance employees kids running around, she missed a whole order of wings, waitress forgot more than just our tables items. Honey cajun was different than last time we were here. Some wings were very soft and they were all ordered hard. A table of 2 couples walked in and had the audacity to ask another table to move so they could sit there and the staff watched and allowed it. read more

AMAZING Nashville Chicken Sandwich!! Nox on 8 has friendly staff, quick service, and great tasting food. I got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and it was to die for! It wasn't too spicy and had SO much flavor. It was perfectly fried, and had pickles and lettuce with a Kaiser roll. My boyfriend had the Pittsburgh Steak Wrap and it was also very good and had lots of flavor, but the Nashville Chicken Sandwich is definitely the thing to get here. The fries were also very good! It had a very welcoming atmosphere and was not too loud or busy which was great. Definitely recommend stopping here!! read more

I have been to their original location in Blawnox a couple times and always enjoyed it. Recently having a craving for wings, I thought I would try their newer location on Route 8 in Allison Park. The wing flavors I tried were terrific. Wet Cajun and their Nox sauce which is a mild Buffalo. Their house made ranch sauce is delicious. The only criticism I have is that they charge you for the side of ranch while most places it is complimentary. read more

Nice little neighborhood joint. I have eaten and done take out a couple times and always been happy. Wednesday is wings night and they don't disappoint. Great selection of sauces and rubs and most importantly they are crispy. Just outstanding. The pizza is old school Casey's style if you are missing them. IYKYK. Wow, what a great place. You talk about a local joint, we felt like we were the only people in there who didn't know everyone else. But that didn't stop folks from talking to us and being friendly, including the waitstaff and bartenders. We sat at the bar, which is always my favorite vibe. We got served by anyone who was free. All the drinks were good, nice beer selection, good food. The wings say they are award-winning, and the ones we tried did not disappoint. You also can't beat those zucchini planks. So this review is based on my second visit. The first visit was fine. I had the philly cheese sub. It was good enough to go back for a second one. Not so good on this visit. None of the ingredients of my sub were grilled together. It looked like they threw some pre cooked beef (?) on the grill and then slapped it on the bun which had a (1) slice of melted cheese. On top of that they threw a few mushrooms, tiny bit of cold red peppers and a few cold banana peppers. This was all served on the end butt of a hoagie bun. The whole thing was dry and tasteless. My brother had the Buffalo shrimp which were raw. He also ordered a 'steamer hamburger'. Omg that was so tough and tasteless. Comparing notes we agreed that the meal was so sub par that we said something to the waitress. Her response.... Do you want to talk to the cook? Seriously!!! Why would I want to tell the cook to his face that our entire meal sucked and he should Reconsider his career choices. Asking for confrontation is generally NOT why I choose to eat out. I eat out as a gift to myself, a chance to not do the work, a chance to relax. At no time in my life have I complained about a meal in order to duke it out with the cook!! We tried to be nice about it but I took a look at the check and it was 56$ for a meal that we threw out. Got the check back after giving my card and they charged me for using my debit card. So $60. I told the waitress that I wouldn't be back. I'm surprised she didn't ask me if I wanted to talk to the owners. I slowly looked around me at the sad and bad lighting, the sterile walls and the firehall tables and chairs. Zero points for ambience or comfort. Then I realized I was freezing cold. I guess they don't heat the dining room. At that point I grudgingly left a 5$ tip and walked out never to return. My advice .... Even if you are drunk off your butt from the very not classy bar don't eat here. Just don't. read more

Disappointed. I hoped Nox on 8's food would be comparable to Dive Bar in Indiana Twp. The menu is basic bar food. Our meals were small, greasy, and overloaded with cheese. I couldn't even taste the chicken. My sandwich was basically a grilled cheese. The food prices were high considering the quality of the food and size of the servings. Ok, so I heard really good things about Nox's and was very anxious to try their new location "Nox's on 8" in Shaler. There were 4 of us in our group. We were told about a 30 minute wait (Sunday evening) but happened to find 4 empty seats together at the bar so we sat there. We had to tell the waiter we were ready to order because she kept walking past us without asking. I ordered the BLT with fries and slaw. When my sandwich came, I thought they brought me the wrong thing at first. The bread on my BLT was not toasted. It was covered with melted butter and possibly thrown on the grill long enough to heat it a bit. It was soggy and yellow from the butter and from not being toasted. I mean, who messes up a simple sandwich like a BLT at a restaurant that's been around awhile. The slaw was good, the fries, just ok. It's too bad because I really wanted to like this place. Others in my group felt the same way, just so-so. I hope enough time goes by that we are willing to give it another try. Maybe they just aren't quite up to par yet since this location is very new. read more
