Massive and delicious sandwiches and burgers!!! Stopped here for an impromptu dinner this week. We'd had ice cream right before, so unfortunately I wasn't ~starving~ BUT my sandwich was so big, I don't think I would've finished it even if I was starving. I got The Levittown shaved ribeye sandwich and it was amazing! Loaded with sautéed onions and housemade cheese whiz. Super messy but that's means it's legit we shared the fries - they were good and not super salty, but I prefer that over being too salty. My fiancé got the 916 burger and really enjoyed it! Hos only comment was that he felt there were too many onions - but he's not a big onion person and only eats small amounts of them when I use them in dishes at home. Me on the other hand, I would've loved the amount of onions!! I took a bite of the burger and it was really good! Everything was just so fresh and you can tell so much love goes into it. It's tiny and during look like much, but the service was friendly & the food was very good, other than my not liking the fact that they put salt on their cornbread. I have not been into this business but we had an event down the street where food was brought in. Three items stood out. (1) They had these small crusts of bread with a mushroom spread on it; there was a drizzle on top that seemed to be a balsamic drizzle. They were amazing. (2) They had these chicken salad sandwiches. I believe there was a pesto on them (I, generally, do not like pesto); they weee amazing. (3) They had a strawberry dish with graham cracker crust. Again, amazing. The place seemed nice; the location and inside. You can sit and eat, but unfortunately, the food was disssgustiiiingggg. I got cornbread that was not cooked properly or at all. The chicken looked good on the outside, but was not seasoned and watery inside. Gross. The chicken breast wing was normal, yet the side wing was huge, which makes me feel it's not real meat. The cheese in the Mac and cheese was watery and the noodles wasn't cooked long enough. I asked for utensil and didn't get any. I only gave it a two because at least the customer service was nice. What a fantastic place to have in the area! We enjoyed the 916 Burger, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, fries and the cornbread. Everything was made to order and was super delicious. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the cornbread cause it was drenched in butter and was just too rich for my taste, but my husband enjoyed it. The restaurant was full of character and the walls are lined with work from artists. My biggest question mark is the care of the dining room. Patrons are expected to clean their areas themselves, which doesn't always happen, so there was leftover trash or water jugs left at tables. I felt like I should've brought my own wipes to clean down a table before sitting as a "just in case" measure. read more

We were in town for a convention and after walking around the area for a bit, we found The Brinery. We stepped inside and discovered a very small dining room with two of the friendliest hosts we've ever met. The gentleman and lady were so helpful and excited about their menu and told us they had a special that day on chicken wings that were smeared in a special rub and were supposed to be utterly delicious. My hubby ended up getting the wings and I ordered a nashville hot chicken sandwich. After a short wait, the food arrived and we were not disappointed. My sandwich was massive!! The chicken was so crispy with just the right amount of heat. The fries were delicious; so fresh and tasty. My hubby loved the wings. They were huge as well. You get three wings for $12.99 but that's all he needed to fill him up. The dining area is small, but they have local art on the walls that you can buy if you fall in love with one of them. Their bathrooms are spotless with lots of thoughtful amenities included. Whenever we are back in Pittsburgh we will definitely be checking on The Brinery again! read more

Do not snooze on the Brinery- these people are wonderful and their food is home made, from scratch and OUTSTANDING. they pour love and creativity into every dish that comes out of that kitchen. My FAVORITE on the menu is the 916 burger- I never had a better burger in my life, I prefer the smash style , and chef makes his own buns. It's just so delicious! If you want the same bang but want to be a little healthier, said amazing burger can be put on a salad, and that's the Bernie MAC salad!! The pics looked good, so my cousin and I went on a Thursday, we were the only ones there. I had the 916 (double smash burger) and my cousin, the unnamed chicken sandwich. The food took quite a long time to come out. Wish they would have taken my patties off the grill sooner, they were so charred, that's all I could taste. I ate what I could, I didn't bring it to the waiters attention, didn't feel like going through that. My cousin didn't realize the sandwich was a thigh and not a breast. She liked the breading but wouldn't have gotten it knowing it was a thigh. Friendly service, although, it was extremely slow. read more

My friends and I were at a brewery nearby The Brinery. The staff let us know that the Brinery delivers to them and we didn't hesitate to order. I opted for one of the smashburger options along with the pickle tots. The food arrived within 20-30 minutes and was piping hot. The burger was fresh, juicy, and delicious. The burger patties were much larger than the bun. I was thankful they included plastic cutlery with the food because I needed the fork for everything that fell out. The pickle tots were crispy and a cross between a thick tater tot and a fried pickle. They came with homemade ranch and it was creamy and flavorful. Have eaten at the food truck many times and am a fan. Stopped in for brunch. You order at the counter and hope for a seat. Managed to get a seat as a couple of tables were leaving as we stood there. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. The couple behind us ended up asking for to go and the couple after them asked for a refund as they had to go. Had the Redneck Benedict that is a biscuit with Pork Belly, sausage gravy, with fried eggs. It was OK. The pork belly was tasty but the sausage in the gravy was very hard and overcooked. When we were leaving they were telling the people coming in it would be an hour to get their food, so most said they would come back another time. read more

We have been to the Brinery twice now. First, let me mention that the people who own this place and the people who work here are just the nicest folks; they made me want to come back. Even if the food had been just okay (and it was way better than okay) I would have given it another try because the people are so warm and truly cared if we had a good experience. I failed to take pics, but both times I visited, I had the Levittown (cheesesteak--packed with steak and cheese without any gross, unidentifiable chewy bites) and we shared some pickle tots (better on our first visit than our second--a little stodgy/starchy and less crispy the second time). My dining partners had the 916 Burger (awesome, crispy-edges smashburger) and the Graceland (crispy-crunchy fried chicken thigh sandwich--tasty, messy in the best way, and a biggie). We also shared some mac and cheese (creamy and just-right sharp, but not broiled on top as shown on the website) and some truly terrific fries. I considered a salad but this is not the kind of place where I want a salad. I'm coming here for messy, delicious, indulgent food. If you find yourself up on Rte 28 somewhere, stop by the Brinery. The place is small, and was pretty packed at lunchtime on a weekend, but we also came for dinner on a rainy night and sat with no wait. Popped in to Sharpsburg and The Brinery after an afternoon of errands. We were hungry and had heard great things about the sandwiches and burgers here. When we stopped in around 3pm there was one other group eating and then left shortly thereafter and we had the place to ourselves. There's probably 5-6 tables in the eat-in side of the business with big windows looking out onto the street. Overall the place was a little dingy feeling and not terribly clean, but if they're going for that greasy divey feeling they're nailing it. Good classic 80s tunes cranking while we waited and our food was ready in about 10-15 minutes. My wife got the 916 which is their standard smash burger with a side of fries. I wish the fries had come with a little more than just ketchup packets, but the fries were pretty good. Her smash burger was pretty good too. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich which was piping hot and had a good balance of pickles and sauce. I was hoping for a little more kick of spicy heat than I got, but overall the chili oil flavor was right. Dropped a star for the dirty tables/chairs, but overall was happy with the meal and would come back to try other things. A bunch of us stopped by on Friday because they were donating a portion of their sales that evening to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Luckily we got there on the earlier side around 5:30pm because their line was basically nonstop after we ordered. Our food came out pretty quickly and it was so hearty and filling and comforting. There's probably around 20 seats or so in the main dining area with tables and a few seats in the area where you order. My favorites were the massive Nashville Hot sandwich (which had a kick to it which I loved!) and pickle tots and I don't even usually like pickles. Stopped for Saturday morning brunch. As you walk in you order, and sit and wait for food. It's clean and minimalist decorated. Staff is nice and helpful. The seating is ok but they have the little metal chairs and they are a bit uncomfortable. I opted for the breakfast egg rolls and they did not didisappoint. Very good. For their brunch they have love Katie distillery serving mimosas and bloody Mary's. It's a beautiful partnership and we will be back. read more

I enjoyed my visit to The Brinery one weeknight. I ordered the El Reno, which was topped with caramelized onions and their city sauce. The woman who took our orders explained to us the patties are very thin since they're smashed, so she suggested getting a double, which I did. I loved the pickle tots and could have eaten the entire basket myself! Their ranch is also pretty good! We also had the Panzanella which was really tasty, fresh, and refreshing. It was nice going on a weeknight because it wasn't too busy. There also seemed to be a few regulars who came in, which is always nice to see! read more

I've had food from what I believe is their food truck in the past. I've been wanting to try the brick and mortar restaurant. On a Friday night I made my way down to Sharpsburg just to try this place. I walked in and was immediately, enthusiastically greeted. I started to glance at the menu and asked what should I order? The nice lady working the counter said everything! She then said I should really try the Levittown if I like cheesesteaks. I glanced down at the menu to see the description; shaved ribeye, onions and homemade cheez wiz...that's it. I said well that sounds great, I'll take that. She quickly asked if I would like fries too and of course I said sure. I grabbed a bottle of water, paid and was given a table number. You walk through a small doorway and there is a sitting area next door where you pick your own seat. I sat down and waited about 15 minutes for my food, not bad because the small dining room was fairly full and they kept running food out. The plastic basket arrived with the cheesesteak wrapped up and the fries surrounding it. The fries were thin shoestring fries similar to the ones from Moonlit. They were decent, but I probably didn't need to order them as the cheesesteak would have been enough. I decided to eat some of the cheesesteak without any condiments added (I love ketchup on them). I wanted to truly taste it as is. It was amazing. I lived in Philly for a while and have had some phenomenal and some sub par cheesesteaks in the past. This ranked really high for me. I would say it's one of the best cheesesteaks I've had back in Western PA. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the onions were great, the standout however was the homemade cheez wiz. It was absolutely delicious. Again, I think this was the best cheesesteaks that I've had in Pittsburgh. As I was leaving the lady at the counter asked how I enjoyed it and made sure to tell her it was great and I'm glad that she suggested it. read more

I didn't know what to expect when I walked in here. So it's order at the register then they bring your order to you like Shake Shack would. If you go when it's slammed you may not get a table so keep that in mind. It's pretty small inside with about 10 tables. I ordered a double smash chili crisp and side of the city fries. Now it took about 45 min for this to come out. When my food was brought to me the bearded gentleman informed me that they ran out of potatoes so he gave me city chips. Now I love this and hate this. Love it because awesome on him for giving me another option. Very nice on his behalf. Hate this because I want fries with my burger. It's a MUST. I do not like chips and felt like an asshole telling him this. He reimbursed me for it so also good on his behalf The wait was pretty long for a double smash burger but it was a Saturday night at 7:00 and multiple parties of 4-6 in front of us so I totally get that. The burger itself was pretty fucking good and I typically am NOT a smash burgers fan. I love being able to get a Pittsburgh rare but you don't get that with smash burgers. This though didn't disappoint. A little salty but I love salt bombs so if you're not a salty person be cautious. Had a great grease to it (fingers dripping) and good spice. Went to the Brinery last week with my friend and we had amazingly delicious food! We almost ordered every app because we just wanted to try it all! They are located in Sharpsburg, pretty close to Dancing Gnome actually, which is a slay because they are byob. We ordered the Nashville Hot, City Fries (half portion), Roasted Brussel sprouts, Pickle Tots, Pierogi, and The Unnamed Chicken Sandwich All of the food was so good! The Nashville Hot sandwich was actually hot, I loved it! All of the apps were 10/10 but my fav would have to be those City Fries. OH MY GODDDD I could've eaten like 10 baskets of these they were phenomenal. You absolutely have to order them when you come along with those pickle tots. We decided to give The Brinery a try after reading about it in Yelp. Wow, was it ever worth the time and effort. First you are greeted by the most delightful lady who fully answers any questions you might have and then some. The food was as described and just as tasty as hoped. We will go back for sure. This should become a neighborhood gem if it hasn't already achieved that status after the year it has been here. So my reviews are very honest. I was part of a group of 3 people and there was only one other person in the restaurant at 4PM on a Friday. First our server/order lady at the counter was really great! Very nice and helpful. We had the lobster roll, Nashville chicken sandwich, man n cheese and chicken tenders. The Mac n cheese was made with a white, creamy bechamel sauce. It was very good. The lobster roll was dry and not very flavorful. I'm pretty sure it was made with canned lobster meat. Also it was pretty small. For $30 I expected it to be much better. The Nashville hot sandwich was very spicy as expected but the chicken was dry and overcooked even though they claim to make it with brined chicken which should have been very moist. Also the sauce seemed to be hot chili oil and a touch of bbq sauce. The sweetness of the bbq sauce was off putting. Overall I was not impressed at all especially since the reviews were pretty good.
