    Baklava and Lebanese coffee

Don't let the the location of this restaurant (hidden next to a much larger and flashy restaurant fool you! Cedars' food, service and authenticity are top shelf ! What a delicious dine in dinner! Taboulé, humus, Lebanese rice with meat, pita all great but add on the red sauce vegetables on the side and you'll be saying it's outstanding ! Highly recommended! Our server was very humble and helpful while ensuring not only our table but the other table near us too! Hospitality as you come to know it from the Middle East! Yes. The pistachio baklava was terrific alongside the Lebanese coffee!

Came here for dinner with my dear friend that I hadn't seen in a while. We were really excited for dinner given how great the reviews for this place are, and how convenient the location was for us. We enjoyed dinner, but it didn't wow me like I was hoping. We started with the Mazza Platter, and all of the dips that were offered were alright. I don't know that any of them really stood out either which way. For my entree I got the Cedars Lamb Shish Kabob. It was a single kabob on a huge bed of rice. The flavor was alright but I was very disappointed in the portion of meat, especially at that price tag. The service was wonderful though, and the ambiance is non-pretentious in the best way. I would definitely come back but I would change my order to get a better bang for my buck.

Most authentic Lebanese food in Pittsburgh! 10/10! Tastes like home-made cooking! The owners wife is soooo nice. She gave us free tea.

Food was very good. Loved the hummus and baked kibbee. Pleasant service. Lots of takeout orders. We ate in and liked that BYOB is welcome.

Not everything was fantastic, but the overall quality of the food items we ordered was well beyond expectations. We ordered takeout, and our order was ready at the expected time. The only comment I'll make on online ordering is that the first available pick-up slot was about an hour after we placed our order. Plan accordingly. In terms of the food, we were generally impressed. The falafel plate was generally good, but not fantastic. The falafel was a little doughy and lacking in crunch or herb content. The pickled beets on the platter were a very nice addition. So a mixed bag. The mujaddara was excellent, with nicely caramelized onions. The musabaha was interesting and flavorful, but it didn't seem to survive the drive home particularly well. The fatoosh salad was good, with extremely crispy pita chips. That having been said, the lettuce was starting to wilt by the time it got home. Possibly unavoidable. The hummus was excellent, and the spinach and feta pie was fantastic. So generally good food, with a relatively small number of minor misses. Overall, this is a reasonable takeout operation. There were a handful of people enjoying the bar when we picked up our order, but I'm not sure I would opt for using the space as a drinking destination.

We were confused as to where the actual restaurant was. There is a sign on Route 8, so we parked there, looked around, walked downstairs, only to find it was offices. We then walked upstairs and found that the entrance was actually on the other side of the building but accessible from the front. It's an interesting place when you walk in. We were quickly greeted and seated. It seemed as though the owner and family were working. The menu was interesting, not real large but sufficient. We had, who I believe is the owner, come to our table and ask what we typically like to eat and then she was making suggestions. We thought she was just being helpful. My wife finally looked at her and said, I'm sorry are you also taking flour order now? She replied well that's what I was trying to do. To me that was a little off putting. We all took her suggestions and ordered. The food came out fresh and warm. It was good. We all tried each others meals. We felt that what my wife ordered was the best. Am looking forward to being back! My server was Tolia (sorry if I'm misspelling/misremembering) and she did an AMAZING job. She was super friendly, made awesome menu recommendations and was a delight to chat to. She recommended I start with the char grilled octopus and this was delicious. It came with capers and a grilled lemon and olive oil and was beautifully presented. The potion was easily finished by just me, so if you have more than 2 people I'd recommend getting more than 1 order of these. It's so delicious. I was then picking between the pastitsio and the moussaka. I was told they both have a strong nutmeg flavor which was not a problem for me. I decided on the moussaka and it was so delicious. It did have a strong nutmeg flavor but not in an overwhelming way. It came with a bechamel sauce on top and layers of eggplant with ground beef tomato and potato. It sort of reminded me of a shepherds pie if you're not as familiar with Greek food. The portion was HUGE - could easily split between 2. I ate almost half of it but couldn't eat the rest although I wish I could've. It was so good. The cocktail I ordered was a nectar spritz (something with "nectar" in the title at least) and genuinely was one of the best cocktails I've had. Definitely beat every other one I had in Pittsburgh this week by FAR. So yummy. I was so impressed with every aspect of my dining experience and would definitely be back!

It was my return to the dating scene after a few years in hiatus, would I be ready? Could things actually go right? Why did we pick this night to go out for the first time? Am I going to completely lose my mind? Well, the original plan was Tacayo and it was closed, but we strolled past it into this establishment with me not even knowing that we were in a totally different restaurant. I looked at the menu, this doesn't look like taco's at all, what is happening here? We called Tacayo to make sure in case they were open and we could still eat there. Nope, they were certainly closed. You know what? I took it in stride and said, "what the heck, I like mediterranean food." We were waited on and placed our orders, things seemed to be moving along nicely. The only problem being we had both ordered the falafel platter and my date calmly tells me that in the past she thinks she had an allergic reaction after she ate chick peas. I was like, well we better just inform our waiter and get something else. She says, no, that's o.k. I don't want to waste food. Ummm....you want to risk your own health so as not to waste food? As it turns out she at the falafel and was completely fine. So, truth be told I have had way better Middle Eastern food. You can tell that they are trying and they make the effort to please the customer, but the food that comes out is just o.k. For a date night it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't stellar. Am I single again? Of course I am. Did I have a good time? Absolutely. I wrote this back in January, but never published it till now. Hope you enjoyed reading it. Cheers, and here's to your health
