ELIA Mediterranean Grille is a local restaurant and bar that serves mostly upscale Greek foods for lunch and dinner for dining in, takeout, and catering. Examples of menu items are Greek salad, lemon soup, dolmathes, gyro flatbread, chicken pita, meatball sandwich, moussaka, pastitsio, souvlaki skewers, filet mignon, crab cakes, and kataifi. My husband and I ate one dinner here. The seating hostess promptly and courteously seated us. Our server's service was slow, and she made some mistakes such as bringing an incorrect side. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Spanakopita Spinach Pie - 4 stars - This appetizer consisted of two large pieces of spanakopita and a salad. The layers of filo dough, spinach, and feta cheese tasted very rich. Trio Spread - 4.5 stars - This appetizer consisted of my choice of three dips and pita or vegetables. I rate the Hummus as 5 stars, the Tzatziki as 4 stars, the Melitzanosalata Eggplant Dip as 4 stars, the pita as 4.5 stars, and the carrots, celery, and cucumbers as 4.5 stars. Shrimp Scampi - 4.5 stars - The linguini pasta was cooked well and was topped with six broiled shrimp that were large and juicy. Lamb Chops - 4 stars - My husband ate this entree. It got cold while we waited a while for the servers to bring a fork and to clear the appetizers from the table. Four grilled lamb chops had a smoky flavor and were served with lemon potatoes (not what my husband had ordered) and asparagus. Baklava - 4 stars - The phyllo, walnuts, and honey had a very strong flavor. It tasted good, but I prefer that baklava be sweeter. Bougatsa - 4.5 stars - Perhaps my first time eating bougatsa, which is phyllo dough, a custard filling, and powdered sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top. It tasted slightly sweet. The total price for these foods plus one soda was $128 plus a tip.

Recently came here for a birthday dinner celebration. We had a group of 5 and made reservations. Note: for reservations, you submit a request and you will get a confirmation if they can accept it. I would prefer either a Rezy or Open Table so you can see available times more easily. But the confirmation came back pretty quickly after sending the request. We were seated in the main indoor dining area across from the fireplace at the booths surrounding the tree in the middle of the floor. It had a very cute vibe and they were decorated for Christmas. Our server was very friendly and service was very quick which was appreciated. We ordered the dip trio and fried zucchini. Both were great! The spicy feta and eggplant dip were amazing! Fried zucchini was very tasty as well. We all ordered some seasonal cocktails which were so good!! Our group enjoys a festive drink and Elia delivered. Our group ordered a variety of mains including some chicken dishes, pasta, and the moussaka. Everything was very good overall if not slightly underwhelming. A few of the dishes needed some salt but luckily it was provided at the table. We did order a side of potatoes which came out cold but the flavor was good. Overall had a good experience and looking forward to coming back to try more things. This place has plenty of space for large groups and cozy booths for date nights. There is a parking lot that fills up pretty quickly but there is plenty of parking throughout the shopping center Elia's a part of. Elia is a good addition in the north and conveniently located off of Perry.

I stopped by here this past Saturday for takeout. My wife and I were looking for a place to eat when I remembered that a friend had told me about Elia Mediterranean Grill. After looking through their website, I did not see a way to order online and ended up calling to place my order instead. I was told it would be about 15 to 20 minutes, and when I arrived roughly 30 minutes later my food was ready. What surprised me was just how busy this place was. The lobby was completely full, and I could not really see into the dining room, with more people still coming in as I was leaving. For dinner on this evening I went with the chicken souvlaki while my wife chose the spanakopita flatbread. The menu describes my dish as grilled chicken skewers with grilled peppers, onions, and tomatoes, served on a warm pita with house made tzatziki sauce and rice. Hers was described as spinach, leek, feta, and a blend of cheeses. When I opened my container, I have to admit I was a little disappointed at first. My "skewers" consisted of six pieces of chicken along with one tomato, two pieces of bell pepper, and two pieces of onion. Overall, it did not look like a lot of food for the $25 price tag. Thankfully, the chicken itself was very good. It had a nice lemony flavor and was moist and juicy. The tzatziki sauce was interesting, as it contained more grated cucumber than any version I have had before. It was very thick from the amount of cucumber, which was different but not bad. If anything, it may have been more authentic than what I am used to but I honestly don't know for sure. My wife really enjoyed her flatbread, and she gave me a piece to try. It definitely tasted like spanakopita, which made sense, and I liked the flatbread crust, which had a nice chew to it. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I definitely enjoyed both the chicken and the flatbread, it felt a bit pricey for what you get, and this may be a restaurant that is better enjoyed dining in rather than ordering takeout.

The restaurant is beautiful and our waitress Nicole was a sweetheart. If I was just rating those I would give it 6 stars! However, you go to a restaurant to eat and in this case the food was a let down. My wife ordered the spanakopita and it was very good. The egg lemon soup was good but could have been served hotter. The hummus was tasty and fried pita bread a nice touch. The odd thing is the preparation of the pastitsio and Mousaka. They are baked and served as a casserole rather than made in a pan. The béchamel topping was over cooked and took away from the meal. I'll need to try some other items the next time.

Elia is a nice little Mediterranean / Greek style restaurant in Warrendale. The decor and atmosphere is warm and tasteful. The server that night was terrific and was very knowledgeable on the menu. I started with the white bean chicken chili soup. They didn't short you any meat, and it had nice spicy flavor to it. The gyro plate didn't disappoint either - the way they served it, was like you could make one of the Wendy's stuffed pitas from back in the day (only these were way better). The tzaziki sauce was great too. No room for dessert this visit but would love to return here for some of the richer entrees on the menu (on an empty stomach of course; they won't send you home hungry).

Our return trip to try the menu was a hit! So many delicious items, so we ordered a whole spread. We started with the trio dip with vegetables. We had the hummus, tzatziki, and spicy feta dip. Each was delicious and uniquely tasty. The spicy feta had very little heat, but that didn't take from the great flavor. My favorite was the hummus - so creamy and smooth! We also ordered the octopus. Absolutely delicious! Nice char on the outside while the middle was tender. Octopus, hummus, on top of a bite of pita - yum! The olive bread and the dipping oil --both are a must-get! My entree was the fillet of sole, and it was cooked to perfection. Excellent seasoning and flaky fish. I couldn't put my fork down! For dessert, we had the walnut cake. The syrup paired with a moist cake with earthy flavors... I wanted the whole cake!! We walked away satiated and talking about when we would be back! The food was fresh, tasty, light and filling. Such an awesome dinner!

    Lunch with my dad!

I was in my hometown unexpectedly and my dad suggested Elia for lunch. After we were sat promptly there was a miscommunication and we sat and sat and sat some more. After four servers walked by multiple times I returned to the hostess stand to inform her that we had not been waited on as of yet. After addressing the lack of a server with the hostess the message still did not get conveyed so I addressed the hostess a second time on her way back to the hostess stand. Finally our server came and apologized and blames the "newer" hostess for the mistake. We were quite hungry and considering the time we had to review the menu, Yelp reviews, and gaze at many plates that bypassed our table we opted to order drinks, an appetizer and entree as soon as he came. We ordered the fried zucchini for an app and my dad ordered pastatitio and I ordered one of my favorites, moussaka. This review was based on 2 things; first and foremost the food and the tasteful decor of the restaurant. The food was outstanding! Loved the fried zucchini. It was a generous portion and was cut thin, breaded and fried crispy with 2 different sauces. Great starter! Our server came to our table about 5 min. after we finished the appetizer and said they forgot to cook our entrees. With the said about 2 min. later he brought our food. I don't know if the kitchen was playing games with our server or if they heisted someone else's food. Either way, I was hungry and was glad to have our entrees. My moussaka tastes great! If was cooked in a ceramic bowl and was piping hot. My dad enjoyed his Pastatitio also. We both ate about half of our entrees then we were stuffed. My dad spoke highly of Elia when he came for his 75th birthday so maybe the miscommunication we encountered on this visit was an outlier. Great food. Nice restaurant. Good place. Thanks!

    Mykonos salad

We sat outside in the enclosed patio and it was beautiful. Service was exceptional from Nicole. She was a pleasure we had the tzatziki Greek yogurt dip as an appetizer with Pita and veggies and it was very light and refreshing. I had the Mykonos salad which was quite unique but tasty. The lemon chicken Romano was delicious.

I was very excited to try Elia, but my experience was just okay. One of the highlights of the visit would be our waitress. Even though she was very busy (we dined on a Friday evening around 7 pm) she remembered everything, down to the takeout bags she brought for some of my party. Foodwise, a highlight would be the trio spread. We ordered the hummus, tzatziki, and the melitzanosalata (Greek eggplant dip. It says it comes with either vegetables or pita, but they didn't ask our preference and just brought out pita. Other foods I tried were the fried zucchini which was good and for my entree, I ordered the Mykonos salad (no berries or walnuts for me). Overall, the food was fine- nothing special. However, the place itself is loud and cramped. It is a large space, and I understand trying to maximize seating, but it was very tight to get in and out of the booth seating, and it was very tight to walk to the exit. It was a fine experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again. It's a nice spot if you live close.

    Greek salad
    Krissy G.

Good, but not curious to try more. Was a bit surprised how few vegetarian options there were considering the genre of food The Greek Salad was mostly lettuce, 3 olives, sprinkle of feta, with some tomatoes and cucumber. The lettuce overpowered the salad. The dips were the star, especially the Greek yogurt dip. The tables were close to each other enough we could hear everything next to us, and getting out was cozy. It was very busy at lunch, so plan accordingly!

I was hungry for wings an thought this would be a nice change and I remembered the wings here were decent. I bellied up to the bar and was quickly greeted. I ordered a beer and then a dozen wings. I found the wings to be a decent price. They had a ton of different sauces and dry rubs to choose from. One nice thing is that they allow you to split your order for different sauces. I took the suggestion of the serve and chose the house sauce and the chefs sauce. One was a spicy mustard based sauce, the other was a sweet and spicy sauce. For me the wings were cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy and on the more done side. The place seems clean and had a larger variety type food menu. Would definitely go again.
