This place is very nice on the inside and I will say this has to be the best service I've gotten at a local restaurant. The husband and wife duo are very helpful and bring your food to your table. They circle around and check to make sure you're satisfied throughout the mean. We ordered baba Ghanoush with the pita for a starter and it was perfect. Also a very large portion. Very flavorful and smokey. I will definitely be coming back for it again. We also got a make your own bowl. I'm a vegetarian so i ordered the Vegetarian Ghallaba. Lightly spicy but very flavorful. Think of stir fry with peppers mushrooms carrot and chickpeas. You get to pick a base I chose spicy hummus. But regular hummus and rice pilaf is an option. Very disappointed because the last 3-4 times we tried to eat here the first words out of the owners mouth is "the dining room is closed" it's super inconsistent as to when they close the dining room and almost feels like he closed it during the day under his circumstances. This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is ready quickly which is nice since I'm usually looking for a quick lunch. Word of advice, don't pass up the baklava. It's the best I've ever had. I've never ordered anything bad here and the owners have always been very helpful and polite. My husband, teen son, and I were in town for a baseball tournament, and as frequent travelers and self-proclaimed foodies, we've seen our fair share of dining experiences. This one? No one else was in line, yet there was an uncomfortable urgency to order and move along, as if our presence was somehow a burden. First red flag. Then came the ridiculousness. My son asked for tomatoes on his shawarma. A simple, harmless request. The female staff member curtly refused, saying, "those tomatoes are for a steak meal because they bring out the flavor of the meat." Seriously? They couldn't spare a few tomatoes for a kid's sandwich? Second red flag--and it left a sour taste before we even got our food. I ordered a bowl and requested a quarter of a pickle and a few chopped cucumbers. Again, I was told no--this time by the male staff member. The bins were overflowing with vegetables, clearly visible, but apparently those are *reserved* for salad orders only. The absurdity of it all was laughable. Third red flag, and by then it was painfully clear that this place values rigid rules over basic decency and hospitality. The total came to \$50 for three entrees--\$50!--and yet they couldn't be bothered to grant the simplest of requests. When our food arrived, I asked the woman if she was the owner. She confirmed she was, along with her husband behind the counter. I told her flat-out: for what we spent, their refusal to accommodate us over a few basic toppings was petty and stingy. Her reaction? Indifference. No apology. No effort to make things right. Just cold, dismissive silence. And then, to top it off, we were *stared down* for the rest of our meal by the owners themselves. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly, gross behavior. After reading other reviews, it turns out this kind of treatment isn't uncommon here. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience genuinely disgusted me. The lack of customer service was appalling, the attitudes were unwarranted, and the overall experience was one I wouldn't recommend. This is a great find in the Washington area. You get some great food and a variety of options. Their fresh pita is amazing and pairs perfectly with their food. Their food is fresh and has some amazing flavors. The family that runs the business is the reason I've gone back more that once they were so welcoming and helped me make decisions on what to get. My only complaint is they aren't flexible with customizing your food and when you do ask for a customization you are charged a decent amount for small add ons like a dipping sauce for your fries or adding feta to a bowl. If you are going to offer bowls you should be able to be more flexible with your options a to make it better for your guest. read more

Edited: My intention of going to your restaurant was to support small businesses and grab a healthy lunch. The description of the item ordered did not indicate bread crumbled inside of the salad (which is what I received). Prior to receiving my food, a lovely woman did ask if I was gluten free. I completely understand a business making a mistake. What I do not appreciate is the attitude once a mistake is made. The owner asked if I could "at least keep the chicken" from my contaminated salad. He also told me that he did not put the bread inside there. Sir, I certainly did not do it myself. I understand eating at a restaurant comes with a risk when you have an allergy. I take that risk and am not complaining about a mistake. My intention of the post is to make celiacs aware that this may not be a suitable option for them. Food is ok but not worth the owners poor business sense. Wow! I loved this place. My mom and I wanted to go last year but didn't get the chance so when we were out today, we stopped by. We don't live close, so that's why. Falafels were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, exactly how they should be. The spicy hommous was tasty and smooth and the baba ganouj was actually perfect. One with double rice and one with baba and cole slaw. They also included 4 fresh, right out of the oven pitas. Food was excellent, service was quick and polite and the portions were big. Man behind the counter just gave us a very nasty look because we walked in about 15mins before dining room was about to close.
