Writing a review here because anyone eating here should be aware of the entitled, massive attitude of the staff and owner! After posting a review on Google the response I got to my review told me everything I need to know about this restaurant. I was told I was lucky I was even served because I walked in rather than order online. What a world we live in. Don't reward this subpar establishment with your time or hard earned money. Great place! I went for the first time today on a busy Saturday afternoon. Customers were in and out nonstop. The 3 workers were very friendly and were working hard at keeping up with the rush! I could tell some people who stopped in were impatient - they must not have ever been in the service industry before. It teaches you how to be understanding, patient, and kind to an extremely busy establishment. I called ahead and they told me it would be 40 minutes.. and it took exactly 40 minutes. Great gyro spot! The restaurant itself is located right by the montour trail, which makes for a nice pit stop if you are waking. They have decent sized outdoor eating area, which is nice, especially if you have kids who want to explore around the trail. I had a gyro and fries. The gyro was packed with so much meat, it was almost too much. Everything was delicious though. Great meat flavor and I loved the tzatziki sauce. I was in McMurray and decided to stop to check this place out. I got the traditional lamb gyro extra tzatziki sauce and a side of fries. The ladies behind the counter were very nice and personable. The place definitely seems to have a constant stream of customers. My gyro was packed!!! Lots of flavorful meat and veg. Pita was warm and delicious. The fries were hot and ready, they reminded a lot like the fries you get at fairs which who doesn't love fair fries. What's pretty cool is they have an outside seated area that is surrounded by tall pines and makes you forget that you're next to a pretty busy road in McMurray. I did see a lot of people walking off of the Montour Trail (please correct me if I'm wrong). Totally gonna have to try that some time! read more

We had a good experience here. My mom and I took advantage of the beautiful December weather to take a walk on the Montour trail. Knowing that Parea Gyros is right along the trail we planned our walk accordingly so we could treat ourselves when we got done. We both ordered the traditional gyro salad. I was very happy with how big the portion was. My mom was responsible and had some leftovers to take home, but I ate the whole thing. The salad was really good, it came with dressing and tzatziki sauce, and the pita was warm. We really like that there's a terrace where you can eat outside right by the trail. read more

Was here a few weeks ago. I stumbled in, parched from a sweaty 20k run that was not going well. I needed a cold drink. Unfortunately, when I tried to pay I realized I only had my ID. Long story short, the girl was kind to give me the drink. Of course I didn't forget. I just came back to buy another Gatorade, and discovered this is a gyro shop. Listen, I was barely coherent that day, I thought I was going to die of a heat stroke or something. Anyhow, I came after my run and discovering that they sell food was an added bonus. Of course I got food, have you met me?! Lol. The service is fantastic. Thankfully, the girl who gave me the drink (Halley) was there last week, so I was able to thank her again. One of the other customers noted how happy and full of energy she is, I completely agree. It makes the whole experience much more memorable. The other worker, Tessa (?), took the time to prepare my meal while her teammate took the orders. The food was delicious. I got the lamb platter (lamb, pita, hummus, salad, fries). So good. It definitely did the job when I was in need of something to fuel my body after a long run. I came back again today to get a drink in the middle of my run. So thankful for this place! The grilled chicken salad is very filling and delicious. Even though it is pretty pricey, the chicken was cooked properly and they give you two different dressings and pita. I will be back again. read more

So I've given this place a chance before, but it was a complete flop. We walked in to order and the employees told us they were done taking orders for the night. It was 7:20 and their sign said they closed at 8. They claimed they didn't have enough product, which I didn't understand, so we just left. I decided to retry it down the road, which was a HUGE mistake. So I walked in and one of the employees took my order. While ordering I noticed one employee had a gator mask wrapped around their neck, which is the worst mask you can wear. I saw another employee, who was supposedly the manager, did not have a mask on and did not have gloves on. Another had a mask, but removed it while on the line making food to vape. Also, there was someone on the cash register, taking phone calls, and cooking on the line, and didn't change her gloves once. While making an order and vaping, the employee just put the vape back in his pocket, didn't wash his hands and didn't change his gloves. There was a couple in front of me waiting for their order and they felt so uncomfortable, as they should, they said they didn't feel comfortable eating there and wanted their money back because of the lack of care and hygiene. The worst part about this was when the manager came over to give them their money back, she says "yeah we really not big on wearing masks here, but please come back and see us when this is over". After I heard this I assumed they were doing more than vaping on the job. Whatever you do please do not go here, for the safety of you and everyone else. If this is what we see as customers, what are they doing when no one is around. Do they use gloves? Are they clean? Are their products fresh and kept at appropriate temperatures? My guess is no, I would trust a gyro from the dollar store before I trust them. Please take my word for it. read more

Five for food, three for service, so rounding out to four. I've now ordered from here four times and every single time there was some sort of issue. The first time they were out of gyro meat (no big deal, just had chicken instead). Second time they had lost my order. Third time salad had tomatoes even though no tomatoes was clearly specified and repeated to me. It is clear there are young kids basically running the show, so I am trying to cut them some slack. But they really do need to get their act together. What keeps me coming back is the food. Large portions on the salads with fresh ingredients. Gyro packed so full it is almost bursting. Tasty sides and desserts. The food is also very affordable for the portions you get. I definitely recommend it if you are in the area. My kids and I checked this place out today. It's a quaint spot with friendly employees that I thoroughly enjoyed. We each had a gyro and fries. My goodness were they amazing!!!! And huge! I can honestly say that it was the best I've had in over a decade! The meat was hot and juicy and flavorful and all of the toppings were SO fresh! My wife and I were out riding our tandem bike yesterday on the Montour Trail, and we were getting hungry, so we stopped at Parea Gyros, which is right on the paved section of trail in Peters Twp. Since my wife is on a gluten-free diet due to a wheat sensitivity, we weren't sure if there would be anything for her to eat, but surprisingly, the owner was very knowledgeable about what she could and could not eat, and we had plenty of options. We decided to split a salad, and the owner and chef, said we could do half and half meats, and they would put non g-f items (gyro meat) on the side. My wife chose steak for her protein, and I must say, they were very generous with the portions, so much so I asked to be charged for extra meat, and she just waved me off like an old friend, and only charged me the regular price. For dessert, we split a rice pudding, with a dash of cinnamon on top. Thought we'd give this place a try. We are from Chicago originally and remember great gyros there. Have tried Mike and Tony's which are better than these. Been here many times both when it was Simple Greek and now as Parea and I have to say the change has really made a difference! The portions seem to be larger and the menu selection is much better. It's a great place to run in and grab some lunch! Have something to eat and go for a walk on the Montour Trail or end a nice evening walk here. Instead of using the fresh gyro meat cooking on the spit (which looked great), they used luke-warm, re-cooked / over-cooked meat from a metal container to make my sandwich. I would have complained, but I got it to go.... so I didn't realize it was terrible until it was too late...and I didn't have time to return. My gyro was inedible. I threw it out.
