Absolutely unbelievable meal at Lilith in Shadyside. I read a LOT of reviews before going--and now need to do my due diligence and post my after! Let me tell you--if you're a foodie like me make a reservation for here. It's incredible. We ordered: the beets and things salad, fancy lobster rolls, tuna tartare, the skate and beef filet to share, the baked Alaska and chocolate mousse. I'm telling you, everything was to die for. Service was attentive and helpful, vibe was homey and welcoming. Truly not a bad bite on this menu!!! Now one of my absolute top restaurants in PGH. RUN don't walk to Lilith!!!!

This is the best spot for a girls night/date night! Very cute and intimate and unique decor. Kinda small so it's hard to get a reservation. Not the best option for vegetarians but one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh. Wait staff is super friendly and helpful. It's a rotating menu but everything is so intentional and well curated. Cannot recommend Lilith enough!!

Lilith never disappoints! Came here with the girlies hence the 3 desserts. Everything was delicious. Skate apparently is hard to cook and they did it so well!

Wow! This was our second time here. We were blown away. The food is fantastic, the service was top notch, the drinks were delicious. Starting with appetizers, we got tuna tar tar, pierogies, oysters and a salad. The salad was amazing. We wanted to totally dissect it and figure out how to make it at home. What are 'seed crunchies' and what makes them so delicious? Then we shared three mains: sea scallops, beef filet and squash ravioli. Each dish had a mix of interesting flavors. We finished with 4! Desserts--again, all unique, the baked Alaska with pumpkin ice cream took the prize. We had two birthdays at the table and got sweet cards from the restaurant staff. Oh, right, the drinks were great, too. Even the one I ordered off menu!

We came here for my grad school graduation celebration dinner. We had been in once before- I couldn't stop talking about it so I knew this is where I wanted to celebrate this special milestone. The restaurant is quite small and definitely requires reservations, but the space is decorated so cute and the decor and lighting create a very moody and warm ambiance. Dining here is more than just getting a meal, it is a whole experience. The restaurant is women owed and known for culinary excellence (look them up online!). I will note that the menu is smaller, and at the time we went, had many seafood items on it. So if that's not your thing then I'd just check the menu online beforehand.

Best meal I've eaten in Pittsburgh, 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 If you're lucky enough to get a reservation I would highly recommend it. Lobster rolls, filet, and the skate were unreal! We cleaned 6/6 plates

Lilith was a great date night dinner spot. It's actually remarkable small and we waited in a tiny corridor to be seated, which took a little while. The decor was charming with wallpaper and generally creating an intimate environment. The tables are fairly close. We were given some bread with salted butter and oil. I have to say it was really nice and I actually wanted more, but I appreciated that it was just the right amount to whet your appetite. We got the Pierogies as starters, which came dressed up a bit, which was nice. For our mains we had the scallops and the squash pasta. I thought that Pierogies gave it a Pittsburghy feel and the squash gave a nodto fall flavors, and made for good topical menu choices. I absolutely loved the scallops. The sauces were so delicious. It came on a bed of lentils, which was an interesting choice which I don't see much outside of Indian cuisine. That definitely gave a balance to the textures. We ordered the pistachio cake for dessert and my partner loved it. It had so many things going in it: pistachios, cream, cake, cranberries, etc and had a variety of flavors in different bites. Our server was great, prompt, polite also offered us recommendations. I'd love to go back. I'd want to give 4.5 stars.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Where do I begin? The decor and ambiance is so whimsical and fun. We sat in the back room and it was so cozy and semi-private. Our server was a rockstar. She was helpful and prompt and really made us feel taken care of throughout the evening. The food. Oh yes the food. We sampled a special which was chicken liver pâté and it was excellent. It should be added to their regular menu for sure. We also loved the little lobster rolls. We shared a couple of main courses, the filet mignon and a fish dish. Both were perfection. No notes. Finally, we had the seasonal baked Alaska. 10/10. Would definitely recommend this lovely spot!

Everything about this place is five stars. The restaurant itself is lovely and charming and adorned with beautiful well thought-out details. They have seating inside and a few tables outside too. Our waiter was very calming and friendly, great service. Everything about the meal was also phenomenal. After ordering, they bring out a serving of sliced rosemary focaccia and some olive oil topped with sea salt. It was so good! They make the focaccia in house. I got the cocorita cocktail - tequila, lime and coconut. It was really refreshing and tasty! My boyfriend got the passion fruit smash and loved it. For starters, we ordered the tuna tartare and the Japanese sweet potatoes. The tuna tartare was delicious and citrusy and tasted so good with the buttery crispy crostini. The Japanese sweet potato was topped with a bearnaise sauce and trout roe. Really interesting dish, very rich. I preferred the tartare but both were tasty. For our mains, we got the skate wing and the farroto. The skate wing was delicious, never had it before. The farroto was a nice surprise, it's a vegan risotto dish with mushrooms and other vegetables. Despite not having any cheese it tastes cheesy! Both my boyfriend and I are dairy-free so we loved this dish. It was one of my favorites. So hearty and delicious. We walked away happy with full bellies. Overall, amazing meal!

Not remembering all the dishes but a must go for a date night (or I imagine a good girls night). Very intimate(just like the previous amazing restaurant) and spectacular desserts. Every single ingredient is fresh and perfect. The salad had so many amazing ingredients and freshness I don't think I could even procure them at a farmers market. Finish with a dessert for sure and go home very happy. Also great service and amazing owners....just look them up.

Everything was phenomenal! We were there to celebrate my mom's birthday and had such a wonderful time. The space is small but well designed; I loved the aesthetic and I never felt like we were cramped or infringed upon by our neighbors. The service was excellent and our server, Holly, was extremely attentive and super nice. The food was SO good. We started with 2 orders of the lobster rolls which were a 10/10 (I'd go back again just for those), the beets & things, and the plantain soup. For mains, we shared the skate, two orders of the ravioli, and the pork chop. For dessert we split the pistachio cake and the chocolate mousse cake, which they brought out with a candle and a lovely card. Everything was delicious, but for me the standouts were the lobster rolls, the skate, the ravioli, and the chocolate mousse cake. I can't wait to go back to try more!

Lilith is amazing and you need to try it ASAP. My work bestie and I came here after a work event and had the best time. Our server was super sweet and fun! He even riffed along with us. They have a great drink list here. My friend ordered a very tasty passion fruit cocktail. We made a 8:45pm reservation in advance, when we got there around 8:30pm, they seated us early which was nice. It was packed. This restaurant is popular for a reason. It was a bit loud, but as the evening went on and more guests left, it got quieter. I'm not from Pittsburgh, so I don't know how common this is, but it feels like it's in an intimate residential area. So there was parallel street parking nearby. They had some outdoor seats available, but we enjoyed our table inside. They also had gender neutral single restrooms. In true Yelp fashion, we decided to order our food family style. Here is what we got: Rosemary focaccia: This incredible bread before your meal is a star. The whipped ricotta and olive oil that accompanies it is simple and stunning. Lobster Rolls: This is a top menu item for a reason. Having lived in Maine I can be weird with my lobster, but I adored this dish and every last bite. Do be mindful because they can be shell bits, but it's still so good. Tuna Tartare: While the tartare by itself is incredible, the toasted bread that accompanies it elevates the whole dish. I LOVED THIS. Yuca Pierogis: When in Rome...I needed to get pierogies in Pittsburgh. And as someone who loves yuca, this was such a delight. You have to order these. The sauce it came with was so good. I would've licked this plate if I could. Sweet potato: The fish roe that came on top of these sweet potatoes were such a great addition! I adored this dish. Baked Alaska: Confession, I've never had this dessert before, and really wanted to try it after watching the film Queer. Since it was my birthday this past week, my friend got them to put a candle in it for me (note: this is an amazing birthday restaurant, at least two other groups were celebrating birthdays here. They put a candle in each dessert). The ice cream they had was so unique. I believe it was rhubarb with some herb. It was a new flavor for me, but I liked it overall. Please, I'm begging you, come to Lilith. It's a place for the girlies. It's a place for incredible food with a cutesy aesthetic. I highly recommend this gem.

I'm way late to the party for Lilith - I have seriously been missing out. What an amazing experience from start to finish! The ambiance of this spot is a picture mixture of intimate, inviting, and "for the girls" if you will. The decor is amazing - bright colors, fun prints. Our service was amazing - attentive, personable and knowledgeable. We decided on sharing small plates because there were too many things that sounded good. Here's a list of everything we tried: -house made Focaccia bread -yucca pierogis -tuna tartare -sweet potatoes -lobster rolls -baked Alaska for dessert Honestly I can't pick a favorite, everything was THAT good. I don't even care for lobster but I could eat those lobster rolls daily. Highly, highly recommend Lilith for a special occasion, or not. You're missing out!

I loved the sticker labels telling you what empanada was what. Cute little cartoon characters that added a fun extra touch. No sauces were needed really except for the beef empanada. Most of them include cheese or sauce that was plenty. Eating there, there were no intensely ld. While we were definitely feeling a bit nostalgic for the Gaucho of the past (RIP Smallman Street era), we were willing to give this new-to-us downtown location a fair shot... and it delivered. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive...present without being too present, which honestly deserves its own award. We went with two sandwiches: the carne and the pescado, and upgraded one with the papas, because obviously. Both were delicious and did exactly what we needed them to do: make us stop thinking about ordering more food (for a few minutes, at least). But let's be real, the house-made chimichurris are the main event. The Ajo? Addictive. The Cebolla? My personal favorite. The Pimentón? Tangy and doing the most (in a good way). And the classic chimichurri continues to quietly carry the entire operation like the MVP it is. Washed it all down with some local beers and called it what it was: a perfect night bite with just enough nostalgia to keep things interesting.

The guacamole was very freshly made. Beef empanada - 4.5 stars - The fried-dough exterior was perfectly crispy, and the beef filling was savory. I particularly enjoyed the green sauce on the side. Seafood empanada - 3.5 stars - This fried cornmeal pastry was filled with tilapia, shrimp, and vegetables. It was a large size, and the flavors were alright. Chicken quesadilla - 4 stars - A flour tortilla was filled with shredded chicken, cheese, onions, and peppers. The ingredients were very fresh, but the quesadilla tasted slightly plain even with the sides of guacamole and sour cream, so I dipped it in queso.
