The lobster rolls are excellent and better than you are likely to find in a place that claims them as a house-specialty. The lobster filling is perfect and the portion in the perfectly toasted roll is generous. Shrimp Ceviche is lovely: bright and springy. Plantain Soup is delightful: light and dotted with just the right amount of crab. Scallops dish has a sophisticated flavor profile on the spices and seasoning. We took an out of town friend here and he said it was his favorite meal of the long weekend! The food and service has been incredible each time I've been here and this time was no exception. Fantastic. The overall experience was amazing. This is a small space and you need to find street parking nearby, but the experience is absolutely worth it. Getting a reservation can also be a challenge, but it's worth making the effort. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, and every aspect of the experience was well attended to. It felt like our server was present enough to attend to our needs, but also not hovering: allowing my partner and I to experience the evening for ourselves. This is very much an excellent destination for a special occasion. Friendly and well-serviced without being stuffy. In terms of the food, we were very impressed. We generally aim for vegetable forward dining, and they really served that need. Everything was very much chef influenced with complex arrangements of flavors and textures. Wow! This was our second time here. We were blown away. The food is fantastic, the service was top notch, the drinks were delicious. Starting with appetizers, we got tuna tar tar, pierogies, oysters and a salad. The salad was amazing. We wanted to totally dissect it and figure out how to make it at home. What are 'seed crunchies' and what makes them so delicious? Then we shared three mains: sea scallops, beef filet and squash ravioli. Each dish had a mix of interesting flavors. We finished with 4! We got the Pierogies as starters, which came dressed up a bit, which was nice. For our mains we had the scallops and the squash pasta. I thought that Pierogies gave it a Pittsburghy feel and the squash gave a nodto fall flavors, and made for good topical menu choices. I absolutely loved the scallops. The sauces were so delicious. It came on a bed of lentils, which was an interesting choice which I don't see much outside of Indian cuisine. That definitely gave a balance to the textures. It was a bit loud, but as the evening went on and more guests left, it got quieter. Here is what we got: Rosemary focaccia: This incredible bread before your meal is a star. The whipped ricotta and olive oil that accompanies it is simple and stunning. Lobster Rolls: This is a top menu item for a reason. Having lived in Maine I can be weird with my lobster, but I adored this dish and every last bite. Do be mindful because they can be shell bits, but it's still so good. Tuna Tartare: While the tartare by itself is incredible, the toasted bread that accompanies it elevates the whole dish. I LOVED THIS. Yuca Pierogis: When in Rome...I needed to get pierogies in Pittsburgh. And as someone who loves yuca, this was such a delight. You have to order these. Holy cow! This place is incredible. Probably one of my top five dining experiences in Pittsburgh. Let me start with how adorable it is inside. You can tell that the design was thought through from the paint color to the chairs to the dishes. It is all so wonderfully put together. There were three of us dining, and we decided to eat family style. We shared four of the appetizers and two of the entrées. We started with the pierogies, blue cheese, shrimp and raclette (not pictured). Each dish that came out was plated better than the next. The shrimp was in a lime and passionfruit sauce with avocado and red onion. The flavor was incredible! The pierogies had a times I sauce that was incredible and they were stuffed full of potatoes! The blue cheese dish was the only one we weren't that into. They made the blue cheese into a flan-like a texture and none of us could get past the texture. For our entrées, we had the ravioli stuffed with sweet potatoes and in a brown butter sauce. On top there was crispy kale and crispy mushrooms with pistachios. All of the textures worked really well together. The second entrée was the striped bass. It came with pickled red onion and grilled lemon and some sort of purée that was divine. We were so incredibly full, but we decided to share one more thing... Baked Alaska for dessert. It's such a fun throwback dessert. I also had the wintertini which was their version of an espresso martini. And I would be remiss not to mention what a wonderful server we had. Absolutely every detail of it was delicate yet lively. This was one of the hardest reservations to book for me this year, but I was not disappointed. The food was amazing and gave me a pleasant surprise. My standards for a restaurant that leaves an impression is building a menu that I feel is original, and I can't find similar dishes elsewhere. Lilith has successfully crafted one of my favorite menus in town, also making it on my list of best new places around Pittsburgh. My favorite and must tries include the scallop ceviche and tuna tartare. I really like how they play with flavors, such as the chili oil and touch of coconut in the scallop ceviche. Duck was on the salty side but I noticed it's no longer on the menu anymore. I wanted to especially praise the team at Lilith for their hospitality. It was my friend's birthday and they not only prepared the most beautiful and delicious cake, but also the whole team came out to wish her a happy birthday. We had a large party and Dale made everything go smoothly by telling us we should order both apps and mains so the kitchen can be prepared and happy. The vibes are immaculate in here. We loved the whimsy, maximalist, colorful decor inside and outside. It is pretty small in here so I get why the reservations go fast. Their drinks here are phenomenal - we loved the passionfruit Cosmo and the rye cocktail. They serve you homemade foccacia and it's amazing with their homemade ricotta. My group loved the apps too - the yucca pierogis were so unique and delicious! Everyone loved the mains as well. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. I love the plates and glassware they use here. Dessert was phenomenal here since the owner is the pastry chef. The tres leches and baked Alaska were amazing. I loved how balanced the baked Alaska was with the different textures of the merengue, cake, and ice cream. Then the sweetness of it is balanced with the acidity of the sauces and mint on the side. It was so good!! Dale even put a candle in it since I was wondering if they torched it at the table. They couldn't do that so sweet Dale did the next best thing. I cannot praise this restaurant enough. They have a very small, cozy, and intimate seating area. That plus their excellent food is probably why you need to make a reservation a month in advance. The chef really knows balance- with the ravioli being kind of heavy but all the light, fresh greens really countered it out and then the tuna tartare being fishy mixed with the tanginess of the herbs. I can conclude that you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Our server was charismatic, restaurant was cute, and the food was delicious. I would say that the best meal I've had in Pittsburgh was at Lilith's. read more

Excellent--each bite was better than the last. Perfect date night spot. My boyfriend and I brought his parents here for a double date, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The interior is charming, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. We were seated in the back room, which provided a quiet and private atmosphere. We started with the rosemary focaccia paired with whipped ricotta--it was absolutely outstanding. Next, we savored the scallop ceviche, yuca pierogies, and lobster roll--each dish was incredible in its own way. For our mains, we chose the halibut and the ravioli. The ravioli, with its perfect balance of flavors, may have been my favorite bite of the night. To finish, we shared the passion fruit cheesecake and Italian chocolate cake. We made reservations to celebrate our anniversary. The space is very cozy indeed. It's a triangle shape so the dining room is tight. We were very close to the tables next to us, easily hearing their conversation and I'm sure they could ours. Service was attentive. The only oops was with the bill (charged for six entrees) that was easily corrected. Food wise it was excellent: - Yuca pierogi had a nice hint of chilli oil and the yuca filling was amazing - Swordfish was hearty and cooked well - Tagliatelle was a hit! Pasta is cooked al dente and the sauce and seafood is amazing. Scallops cooked well. - Everything chocolate dessert is rich and delicious, perfect to share. Make reservations and give this spot a try. They have their liquor license now so it won't be BYOB going forward. read more
