This was my first time trying, but I heard a lot of good things and so did my friend so we were all excited to try. They were a little busy at first, so it took some time to get us seated and our order taken, but they were so kind and friendly throughout the whole time we got checked on often and by different staff members. The food was amazing. Everyone liked their dish. I got the crab and corn fried rice, crab ragoons and thai iced tea. There was so much crab throughout. I don't think the corn made a difference, but the whole dish was delicious. The crab Rangoon's were probably the best I ever had. They actually season the filling with I think curry powder and it seems like there's real crab in it as well. The crispy shell just made everything better as well as the sauce that was served with it. My tea was sweet and creamy I only wish I could get more than a mason jar sized glass. I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding our experience at your restaurant on Mother's Day. While the food was delicious. We had one issue with green curry, being too spicy despite being order at a level 3. We decided we would order another entree since they weren't willing to replace it. . After a 10-minute wait to be seated and an additional 30 minutes before our drink orders were taken, we encountered an issue with the billing. The service and management response were deeply concerning Our party of four was charged an automatic 18% gratuity, which was not disclosed on the menu. When we requested that the gratuity be removed so we could pay it in cash instead, the manager's response was unprofessional and offensive. He suggested that we should "save room for the gratuity" or "take our food to go" in the future, falsely implying that we were unwilling to pay our bill. He only apologized after he realized we still were leaving a tip just in cash. I paid and left quickly this was very embarrassing and like nothing I've ever experienced. Which was so unfortunate because I was looking forward to returning with my father. We also traveled from outside the city to dine here. We never contested the quality of the food or the hard work of the staff; we simply requested a change in the method of payment for the tip. I found the manager's hostile tone and remarks to be racially charged, and I believe we were treated this way because we are African-American. I will never returned to this establishment. I urge all patrons to be aware,of how nasty your experience can turn if you decide to question gratuity charges. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these transparency and conduct issues with your management team. Ordered the tom yum soup with seafood, panang curry with chicken, and the drunken noodles with beef. The tom yum soup was my favorite, fresh ingredients and great flavor. The panang curry was great too, but the drunken noodles were more saucy than typical and both entrees were unusually spicy. Very good traditional Thai cuisine. As you might expect, this is a great choice for vegetarians. Their signature dish, the Dancing Crab is a delightful appetizer. My Green Curry was excellent, and the portion was large. They have a liquor license, so you can bring your own bottle for a $9 corkage. They also have Sake and Soju for two. The service is excellent. We went for dinner around 7pm yesterday and didn't have a reservation beforehand. There were a good amount of people already there. We didn't that a wait for a table for two. This spot is where the old Bridge Music Bar used to be. They revamped it and it's very cute inside. There's a large bar, several booths and tables, high tops, and a decently sized patio to sit. We ordered a couple of things to share and they came out quickly. I will say, we ordered a level 7 spice for our curry and pad see ew and I didn't feel like it was spicy at all so if you love spice, maybe go for a level 10. Best Thai in East Liberty - so glad there's a location in the east end! Went for dinner with a friend on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and much more spacious than I was expecting. We were seated immediately and ordered drinks from their house cocktail menu - both were delish! Started with the an appetizer sampler (a featured special that night) which included Crab Rangoon, Potstickers, Shrimp Cakes, and Spring Rolls. All were super tasty and cooked well. I heard a few folks talking about the Dancing Crab and while I was biking Open Streets Pgh, I saw it and decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered to go because of timing issues by wish I sat inside because it was gorgeous in there. I sat at the bar to wait for my food and the employees were very friendly and conversational while I waited for my order- they also offered me water as it was a hot day which was nice. I ordered Pad See Ew chicken and Crab Rangoon. When I get Thai anywhere, I occasionally order Crab Rangoon. The one at Dancing Crab is unique in a good way; definitely seasoned definitely than other establishments as it wasn't too heavy on crab or too heavy on cream - it was a perfect balance. They included a soy sauce packet on the side for my pad see ew which I thought I didn't need but turns out I did need it as I think they didn't want to over do it especially on a take out order. My noodle dish with the soy sauce added was delicious. I liked the veggies in this order as they were nice and tender. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are in the area. Khao soi reminded me of a dish I got in Cali. I think this was heavier on the coconut milk than that one. It tastes like a curry with rice noodles deep in the soup. The chicken on top was unexpected for me. I thought it would be pieces mixed in, but it was fried to a crispy perfection on top. I liked the crunch and texture contrast it provided with the rest of the meal. The crispy noodles up top tasted good too. The shape makes it kinda hard to eat lol, but very fun to break it up and soak it in the soup. Service was a bit slow because it looked like they had literally 2 people working the whole restaurant. This spot is beautiful inside! I's tucked away on a side street in East liberty and has plenty of street parking available in front of the building. The service was very friendly. I started with crab Rangoons, which were delicious and five come in an order. I also had the chicken pad Thai and I was feeling adventurous and got a one spice level (haha) but didn't actually taste any spice. They offer spice levels on a scale from one to 10 so maybe next time I'll go a little higher, was just nervous to go too high. Overall everything was great up until the end when they cleared our dishes, we then waited 25 minutes for them to bring our bill. I'm not really sure why that happened. So glad we have a Thai spot in East Liberty now! The inside is newly renovated and beautiful. They have a good bar space. I think this place would be good for groups. The service was great, the staff was very attentive and just really funny and personable. The food was good too! I liked my massaman curry (it was really flavorful) and my friend liked their drunken noodles. The drunken noodles here are really good. I like that they are vegan friendly here since a lot of thai spots do use fish sauce. read more

I was here for a private event recently and was completely blown away by the superlative service, the incredibly high quality ingredients, the skilled cooking and attentive hospitality, and the absolutely beautiful and comfortable dining area. I so badly wanted to love this place, especially since it's been on my list to try dancing crab for awhile, but our experience was just not desirable. I will say, that staff are SO friendly and willing to do anything to make the customers happy. We came on a Saturday night, and we could just tell they were short staffed. That's fine- we were in no rush, until we received our meal. Apps were great, crab Rangoons were flavorful and crunchy and the shrimp was crisp and cooked perfectly. Our order was wrong (chicken instead of tofu) and the food was room temp at best. We decided to make note and tell our server, and when they brought out our second portion, it was noticeably smaller. Honestly, the food would've been incredible if served appropriately, and it just didn't sit right with me what was brought out the second time, especially for the price point. Overall, the space is stunning, the staff are so sweet, and the food would be incredible if executed properly. I would be willing to come back and try again, but might be a little bit to have things settle there. read more

I placed an order via the website and was given a pick-up time of 7:23 PM. I intentionally arrived at 7:33 PM, 10 minutes after the scheduled time to give them a buffer. By 7:45 PM, my order still wasn't ready, I got my order at 7:55PM. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but the quoted pick-up times should be realistic. The food may be good, but the lack of accuracy and transparency around order timing takes away from the overall experience. Really enjoyed our lunch at Dancing Crab. The atmosphere is fantastic! The food was fantastic. I ordered the green curry with chicken. We also had Kow Soy chicken, Crispy Tofu and Pad Thai chicken. Everything was really good. The Kow Soy was made with friend chicken which was very different buy yummy. The pad thai was not overly sweet which was also wonderful! I always love crispy tofu too! We went there for the first time... they just opened their east liberty location about 1 week ago and it's in the old "the bridge" location. The food was so good and the service was top notch. Everyone was so nice and the space is huge and will eventually have a full bar (waiting on their license). They even have an outdoor space. Overall it is a great addition to the neighborhood and hopefully is a sign that more business will begin moving into east liberty town center! I recommend checking them out if you're looking for a great Thai food experience! read more

The dancing crab in east liberty is so good. We had a mushroom crab appetizer and a main course curry, both delicious. And unique to the east liberty restaurant is they have sushi. This was our second time and once again it was amazing. The first time we happened upon it because the place we intended to go was closed, the second time we couldn't wait to return . Had to write a review because it is so good, but we're reluctant to do so , because if word continues to get out it will be harder to get a seat! We've had so many dishes there and they are all delicious and flavorful. Do not pass up on the snapper, it is so perfectly cooked, and the sauce is delicious. It reminds us of snapper we used to get at a little place in DC, only better. The dancing crab fried rice is incredible, with huge hunks of crab. The salads are a perfect beginning; we've tried three of them and they were all unique and tasty. Seriously, everything is great. Reasonably priced amazing food. Can't wait to return.
