Yeah we came back again for the brunch. They already have the outdoor seating setup in this spring. The mussels + frites were my favorite.

Absolute favorite stop for Belgium beer and mussels are the best in the city and beyond! Lots of good choices! Frittes with basil mayo is tasty. Grilled artichokes very good. Love it here! Thank you to Breezy, our wonderful server!

Really cute and classy European style cafe. Love the vibes inside. Went with my family for a quick lunch after my graduation ceremony :') We didn't have a reservation but we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. Once we ordered, the food came out fast. Everything was tasty and flavorful! We weren't too hungry so we only ordered three dishes/apps to share. I love the plating here so much -- it's so unpretentious which makes it really beautiful. Great spot for a lunch, but I'd come hungrier next time to try more of the menu!

My favorite mussels in the Pittsburgh let alone anywhere else I've traveled. Service is solid. Place can get busy and loud. Small business feel in a good way. They do not take a reservation so good place to go when you don't want to get a reservation but at the same time regular dinner hours can lead to waits. Also a big fan of their steak and frites. Their dipping sauce for the fries is like a garlic Aioli that is out of this world.

Great service and great moules frites! The red curry has a slight kick and it's very good! The table next to us ordered the Mediterranean platter which looked amazing. These were very large portions and the staff were all very friendly. The food does take a little time to come out and I wished they gave you table bread while you waited. Warning that it's COLD inside!

This is THE place to go if you love mussels. Tonight I had the red curry sauce and my friend had the traditional white wine sauce. And you have to have pommels frites with the mayonnaise dipping sauce. Heaven! The red curry had just the right spice. Our server was new and he did okay but somewhere between us ordering our drinks and actually getting them, something went wrong. We didn't get them until we were almost finished eating. He apologized and took the fries off our bill. The place is small and doesn't take reservations and it was consistently busy

What a cool neighborhood restaurant, I heard about the mussels there so I went to try them and it was very good , I chose the red curry sauce and with the bread , wow !!

This has been a spot of mine for a long while, but it's been about 2 years since I've been. The food was just as good as I remembered! We got the steak frites (you cannot leave without getting their fries and basil mayo) and we also got the Mac & goat cheese fritters. All of which were amazing! The service was not everything I had hoped, but at the end of the day you never know what is going on in the back of the house! Regardless - will be back!

Very cute spot in Pittsburgh! Seems like it fits perfectly into the neighborhood. All of the food was delicious and very knowledgeable staff.

Apteka. This was perfect for my wife, who is vegan. An all vegan Eastern-European eatery. Great weather added to the ambience. Plenty of plants in the background. We had a foursome with my friend and his husband. Apteka offers a service where you place your orders at the bar, and they come bring the food to you when it's ready. We started off with Hungarian fried bread (Langos) and then followed it with Salatka ziemniaczana. Potato salad with greens. Entree we had the pierogis. I mean, we Had to, back in Pittsburgh. Only thing missing was the cookie table but the dessert was great as well. Everything was comforting and filling. Plenty for us two. They had a special collab beer with 2 Frays, a brewery that is really solid. Was just starting off when I was leaving Pittsburgh 5 years ago and now has been pretty popular in Bloomfield. Overall, Apteka offers fine dining, inspired dishes with a vegan twist, and is a must. Reservations are a must as dining is limited to the weekend.

This resulted in a chaotic atmosphere at the two places where you could order food and constantly having to get up from your table every time you needed something. The staff essentially became food runners and they were not very pleasant. We were told that we could not have an appetizer followed by our main course as "food comes out as it's ready." With the bar being backed up, this meant we received some apparently pre-made food even before our drinks arrived. Again, it felt chaotic. The final proverbial "straw" was that they sat strangers right next to us at the same table which was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. All in all, it was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. :(

I decided to get the Antwerp with Nutella ice cream. It was just stellar. The waffles here are not the typical soggy grocery store ones. No, they are made in house and are liege waffles. So, more chewy and sugary with bits of crunch at the edges. The ice cream is also so so good. Super creamy. A pretty nice amount of Nutella flavor (could always be stronger though). Toppings include whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, Nutella, Speculoos, Belgian chocolate, caramel, dark chocolate shell, and the business's small-batch flavors of ice creams. During my recent visit, an employee promptly and politely served me. I ordered one Ghent waffle for $6.31 plus tax and tip. The employee made the waffle fresh in a reasonable time. Some indoor tables and chairs were available, so I sat down to eat. My Ghent waffle was nicely chewy and was topped with delicious Speculoos/Biscoff shortbread spread and slices of bananas. I rate it as 5 stars. Waffallonia's website says that 100% of their electricity is supplied from renewable sources and that they use compostable plates and recycled materials--other reasons to like them!

The cool vibe restaurant is tucked away up a short flight of stairs on Filbert Street. It gives the place a cozy, hideaway feel with brick walls and murals. It's pretty popular, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it moves pretty quick. The menu focuses heavily on crepes and French toast, and they do both very well. I went for a savory crepe that was loaded with eggs and topped with a rich sauce and diced vegetables. It came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered a sweet crepe to share. It was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle, berry sauce, and a massive pile of whipped cream. The coffee is solid too. Verdict: This is a consistent and reliable brunch spot. It was the perfect way to kick off my trip. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

But the star of the show for me is the Shakshouka. I have gotten it the last 2 times I went. You also have to try their Dirty Chai. My only critique is the hostess at the front. She appeared overwhelmed by her role and was not warm. We were actually told by the waiters that "she is serious about her list". Which would be great if she managed it effectively. When I brought concerns that we had been pushed down the list 3 times for other parties. She responded "well, how do you know that" to which I responded "we watched you take their names down after ours and sit them before us". Her response was to shoo me off and tell me to go find a table myself; to which I did. But what a poor way to manage your stress, responsibility, and consumers. On the bright side my waiter/waitress was awesome per usual.
