This is my new favorite place in JP! The food is absolutely top notch. I had the most delicious salad with grilled salmon. The salmon was super fresh and perfectly cooked. We also had the calamari - WOW - one of the best I have ever had. So good and fresh. The dessert was a fun twist on fried ice cream, all freshly made and so delicious! Let me start with saying I was very excited to try this place. My girlfriend lives in JP and sent me an article about the re-opening of Grassfed, so naturally we had to try it. The restaurant is nicely decorated (hip rustic), though just hightops and the bar so don't plan on coming in a big group, and the service was excellent. The burgers were not amazing, the presentation was great but the taste didn't quite match. I got the Stony Brook burger, the meat was well-seasoned and flavorful but was overcooked (asked for medium, came medium-well), and though I substituted cheddar for swiss, it came with swiss. My girlfriend's burger was also overcooked, and she found the bun a bit dry. The fries though were solid, 10/10 and saved the meal, which grants a 2.5 in our book. read more

Got burger, fries and calamari (with Uber eats fee and 18% tip, this is a $52 meal). Ordered Joint burger as it comes ($19) meat is good. No mustard, mayo - dry bun & fries do not come with ketchup. Calamari comes with marinara and tartar, thank goodness. And there are a few fried jalapeños in the calamari which was the best part. Cooked perfectly. Can't figure out why the burger is $19 though. Excited to try the reincarnation of Grassfed but slightly disappointed with the food. The burger came out dry without the juiciness that Grassfed patties had. Finally, what really hurt the experience was the popcorn chicken. It came out very dark and overcooked. Typically something that happens when you re-fry chicken again. Staff was friendly and helpful but they should try a different cut of meat with more fat. They should either remove the popcorn chicken from the menu or figure out a better way to not overcook and serve it fresh. read more

So, just had breakfast at the newly reopened The Joint, with an entirely new menu that offers amazing breakfast options until 2:00. The Farmers Omelette was made with real ham, sliced from a shoulder, succulent, smokey and juicy. The breakfast potatoes were perfect; savory and flavorful without being mushy or greasy. My husband had the Rancheros with black beans and tomatillo salsa...again, delicious. The guy in the corner got the Crab Cakes Benedict, and he was jubilant. The chef, Antonio, has come up with a menu that elevates standards with locally sourced, fresh, real foods, without over complicating things. It's all there; burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas as well as a rib eye and salmon entrees. Also, they have implemented excellent Covid protocols, so you can dine with peace of mind. It's small, but the service was great, and the food fantastic. Two in our party got different burgers, and they were some of the best we've had in a long time. Fries were outstanding and the Caesar salad was really good. Another in our party got the burger pizza and that was different and delicious. If I lived near here, I would be a regular. read more

One night great salmon next time the first time was late at night and salmon was cooked perfectly next time few days later for lunch dry

We split a pepperoni pizza and chicken club sandwich for lunch. Pizza was good, browned and with an excellent crust. The chicken club was just as good. Tender chicken, not the over cooked kind you often get, and bacon that didn't taste like it's been sitting on a dirty grill for four hours. That's the good. The bad happened when we ordered dinner a few nights later. My wife got the veggie burger which she thought was decent but wasn't sure she'd get it again. I got the eggplant parm and I would never order it again. Chewy and odd tasting, I tossed half of it. Bad eggplant I'm used too but we each got salads, which consisted of nothing but a handful of spring mix and a container of dressing. Not exaggerating, didn't even seemed washed. Lettuce alone does not make a salad. I think I'd still get lunch here, but that's it. read more

Recently visited. Having lived in the neighborhood, I've been here it when it was Grass fed, later reopened as The Joint, and now again post Covid. I wasn't impressed last time but they've revamped the menu and it's great. Affordable, simple food. We got the wings (great taste and value!) And the eggplant parm. The eggplant parm came out stacked like a lasagna but tasted good. Could have come with more pasta sauce, but it was great nonetheless. Will plan to come back. read more

A gem found in the heart of JP. I would always pass by this small "hole in the wall" joint and would never go in. A couple days ago I did, and it did NOT disappoint! We started off with some FIRE lemon pepper wings!!! I mean the flavor, the juiciness, the CRISPINESS of these wings= mind blowing. Like I would go back just for these wings! Moving on to entrees, it was brunching time! We got the Stony Brook burger (Named after a nearby T stop!) and the chicken and waffles. This burger was stacked high, a little too high but delicious nonetheless! My favorite part was the crispy onion rings added on top in contrast to the softness of the brioche bead, so good. Next we had The Chicken and waffles, and how cute is the little maple syrup jar given on the side! This dish tasted like your typical chicken and waffles meal! However what sets these apart is the bacon gravy that comes with the chicken. So flavorful and delicious and great for the bacon fans! To top it off I had to join the day-drinking wave with an espresso Martini which was pretty good. Overall, a great laidback joint to grab lunch! read more

What a truly awful experience -- avoid this place!! As a group of 7, we called ahead to check how busy they were (not too busy) and give the manager plenty of time to set up our table. When we got there, we saw a fully empty table for 7 sitting there. But instead of seating us, the manager asked us to wait while another table was "just about to leave". Unfortunately, these guests kept on delaying and delaying their departure. But instead of the manager seating us at the WIDE OPEN TABLE for 7 he kept on asking us to wait longer and longer for them to leave. After 30 minutes of us standing awkwardly in their doorway, we just turned around and left. What a complete disaster, I would give this restaurant -- and specifically their host/manager -- a 0 if possible. There are so many more hospitable restaurants in JP, don't waste your time here. read more

Service was excellent and friendly, everything felt Safe and well spaced from a covid safety perspective. Also loved their Home made sangria. We were encouraged by our server to order online (and pay online), we got our drinks after our dinner arrived, and no one came to check on our food or give us a box when we needed one. Despite that, the restaurant charged an undisclosed 18% "large party" gratuity for a party of 4. We were not told that the gratuity was included, it was not shown on the menu, and we were presented with a screen to tip more upon checkout. The server disappeared after dropping our drinks off, service was terrible, which is what I would expect from someone who knows they already have the money guaranteed in their pocket no matter how well they do. I know it's a burger place, but my favorite thing to get is the chicken parm sandwich. The chicken is cooked to perfection, the cheese is high quality and the sauce is excellent. I still haven't gotten myself to like the hamburgers that much. They're more on the dry side. maybe I just prefer smash burgers vs the thicker kind at The Joint. The fries are also really good. The popcorn chicken not so good- they're dry and they need seasoning. There's something about the breading that just isn't right. read more

Fun little eatery outside the city. It was only our waitress second day working, but she was attentive and friendly. I'm very glad something tasty opened in the old grassfed spot. I've had a couple of the burgers, the wife has had the veggie version, all great. Truffle fries were very tasty, as were the cheese curds (fried cheese--what's not to love). We usually do take-out, but if you dine in they have boom sauce on tap. Like grassfed, it's a small spot, and no bathroom (though the owner told us they were planning to expand so maybe they'll add one?). read more
