I had walked by the other day and saw them on someone's table and they had the perfect look to them. My family and I walked into this establishment on Sunday November 30, 2025 for brunch. We were greeted by a male individual who asked if we had reservations, in which my cousin replied that we have one for 20 people but there is a possibility that we have more than 20. The male individual replied that that was fine, he was going to seat those of us that was there and worry about the others as they were coming in. As more family members started to arrive we notified the male individual that we were going to need another table. And there was one available behind us that was vacant. He refused and continued to place more people at the table that was set up for 20. Once we realized that he wasn't going to accomodate us we got up and left. My friends and I went here Sunday. It was suggested by a friend. The service was good and the staff was very polite and attentive. I ordered their falafel wrap with salad. It had no flavorful, dry and not something I would order again. One of my friends enjoyed her chicken and waffles and her husband changed his to chicken and pancakes. This is one for the record books. Omitting included items because "people already have it in their house and don't need it." I tried to give this place another shot from delivery. I ordered two breakfast items that require syrup: pancakes and waffles. They were delivered without any syrup even though they are is LISTED AS COMING WITH SYRUP IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION . So I called up the restaurant, where I was put on hold immediately twice without being asked. I spoke to Antonio. I asked him why there was no syrup included. He said "People don't like plastic products so we don't send it. You have to order it specifically." I told him it's listed in the description, why would they omit it? He repeated what he said. I said, "Who eats pancakes and waffles dry?" He told me that "People already have syrup in their house so we don't send it". I reminded him that it's listed in the description, and if it were a turkey sandwich, would they omit turkey because "people already have turkey in their house"? He had no answer. I told him that if they made a mistake and omitted it, that he should just apologize and own up to the error. He continued to INSIST that no mistake was made. I asked him if that is the kind of service that the owner would want to provide, when he told me "It's the way the owner wants it. The owner does not want us to send syrup unless it is specifically ordered. I'm sorry but that's their policy." Instead of saying "Oops sorry we goofed," it is the policy of The Joint to OMIT INCLUDED ITEMS unless you expressly order it (even though it's listed as being included) because you probably "have that item at home" and "people don't like plastic". What a joke. Shameful, and laughable too! Reminds of me that song "It wasn't me." Just say ANYTHING expect admitting you goofed, even if it comes out as verbal diarrhea. Came here with a few friends this past weekend and had a great experience. We entered when it was pretty full but the four of us were able to be seated right away. Coming from brunch I had to try the chicken and waffles and was very impressed. The chicken was fried perfectly and tender and the waffles were just as amazing! This is one of them with a full bar, a neuvo American fare menu with a few ethic dishes that add pizazz. Service was friendly and attentive until we just wanted to be left alone. Though our water was topped off and when our drinks we low they ask if we wanted a refill. The feel is modern bistro with a neighborhood flare. Everything was clean and well kempt. This place is a paradox -- all food and drinks is ordered through the Toast app. Its cumbersome to say the least. But we got through it. The service and food to table was slow. There is next to zero interaction with the one wait staff person. Other than to seat us and ask if we had questions. The food was good. She had a burger and I had a falafel wrap. The sandwiches were very good, the fries very good too -- nice crisp. The other part is this place is expensive --- entrees are almost $20, beers, $8. And thats a lot for a burger and a wrap. My husband had a v good burger & I had the best chicken avocado club that had crispy bacon on thick sourdough. Both of us had side salads of mixed greens. Everything was so FRESH and delicious. While walking around with a friend, we decided to get a bite to eat and try the Joint. I'd heard decent things and seen a lot of people walk in and out so I was down. The ordering is all done through ToastTab which is pretty cool but I was immediately taken aback by the pricing, which is all roughly $17 for a burger. The food needs to be pretty stellar to match such pricing, so I ordered a falafel wrap hesitantly (one of the cheaper sandwich/wrap options, and I also was craving some veggies). My friend ordered a truffle portobello pizza - see picture. I was disappointed by the falafel wrap so I didn't grab a picture of that. The falafel inside was dry but the wrap itself got soggy quickly - at least there were plenty of veggies inside. The fries it came with were decent and well seasoned but I can get good fries at a much cheaper place. The ambiance was nice and the staff very helpful, but the food was not anywhere near worth it enough for me to come back. read more

Walked in on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, it was the first time I've been in here since the remodel. The inside was gorgeously decorated for a cozy modern feel. I ordered the Stony Brook burger and my friend ordered the shrimp BLT. My burger looked delicious- but I couldn't pick it up :( the bread underneath was so soggy from the sauce so I had to eat with a fork. The burger itself was very tasty but I wouldn't want to order again for the messiness. My friend liked her sandwich but it was nothing special. The fries were yummy though! Visited the Joint last night having heard wonderful things about the food. Well we never got to taste the food because of the lack of service. You are expected to place your own order using a QRC code on your phone. No ability to ask questions about menu items or even ask for recommendations. If we wanted to go on line and just place an order for food we would have just ordered takeout. Part of the dining out experience is interacting with the server. Not to mention this practice of having customers place their own order is taking away jobs from people who need them. I came across this place, as it was close to the Sam Adam's Brewery. Having around an hour to kill before we were doing a brewery tour, we stopped by here for some lunch. Upon entering, no one came up to us, and we just randomly sat down at an open table. Not gonna lie, but the service wasn't that good. And this place was not that crowded. After a long wait, someone finally came up to us to take our order. Since we were kind of on a time limit, we ordered our drinks and meals, all at the same time. We never received any water either, after asking for it. For our meals, we went with what looked like 2 of their most popular menu items. An order of chicken and waffles and a stony brook burger. The chicken and waffles was my favorite of these two items. It was very good and I would recommend everyone order this. The burger was okay. It was cooked nicely and had some good toppings on it.
