I live around the corner and visit here when I just need a couple of things and don't want to deal with Whole Foods crowd. I would consider this an average convenience store. They have an ok selection of snack food for the size as well as the essentials (milk, bread, etc). I do get annoyed that there are no prices on these items. It's also priced much higher than expected, and it's annoying to find out when you check out. It's inexcusable really. I usually don't buy a lot, but somehow always end up spending at least $25 on 4 items. They do have a very good alcohol selection as well as cocktail ingredients. However, it is all very overpriced. They do have prices on these interestingly enough. The bottom shelf whiskies are a few dollars higher than expected (23.99 vs 20.99 for four roses) but what gets me are bottles of Buffalo trace (normally a $30 bottle) marked to $65 or Weller special reserve (a retail $27 bottle) being sold at literally $100. Blantons is $200 (retails 69.99 and I can find $110 on the secondary market). It's a bit ridiculous. The beer prices are also high for the area. I don't drink wine so I can't really comment on the selection or prices (sorry!). I can also verify that the staff are rarely wearing masks on any of my visits despite the mandate and a sign being in the door a mask is required. They don't have a counter barrier that would make this slightly permissible, and least that I've noticed. Depends on who is working and they seem to have gotten slightly better about this. Overall, it's a ok stop for a couple of quick items and some standard liquors as prices are comparable, or for that midnight hankering for ice cream. It's not the most friendly environment, but it's at least well kept. But there's not really anything here that warrants going out of your way for this pricey visit.

    Yessss! Found it

Yep! I was on the hunt for Cookie Dough Café and I've found it! (edible cookie dough/ cookiedoughcafe.com). This is a big deal to me because of course it's only sold at like 4 places out here in Boston. I got the monster kind with M&M's, PB and oats. SOOO damn good, 1 pint is $8.29- and yes I think it's worth it. I will pay any amount of money for good food, liquor and sweets. Other notes: Staff is fun and friendly! They were blasting great music. Street parking- be careful because one side of the street is Boston permit parking only.

I dunno my business having smooth nitro cold brew coffee on tap at 9pm on Sunday from this clutch connah store in Brighton called Chansky's, that happens to make their own rootbeers, ginger beers, lime rickeys, and other thangs. Will definitely be back.

Watch out! Employees do not wear masks, allow customers in without masks also. Not a safe place to shop at the moment.

Typical small convenience store. I used to live across the street and found they carried a good variety of things. Very nice staff too

Unlike other stores, every item is clearly labeled so no fun price surprises at the cash register. They have a very good selection of beer, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they will order it for you! They also gave me a 10% discount for ordering a case. The Belgian beer I get is 5 cents more across the street at Trader Joes (big whoop) but the 20 minutes Of peace I gain by not having to venture into that madness and wait in line is priceless:) plus trader joe's only has but 1 flavor.

I was picturing maybe a small private room with some chairs and a few bottles of wine for tasting. Well we got there and we realized it was just a liquor store, their tasting took place in a little corner by the register on a small plastic table and consisted of one red and one white bottle of wine. The little shpiel about the wine and the tasting itself took maybe 2 or 3 minutes total. Not really quite what we had in mind. Probably not worth the 45-minute trek across town but on a positive note, we did find a great little Asian fusion restaurant/bar/lounge that made the trip worth it. And on the other hand, if I lived in this neighborhood, I'm sure this would be a really great place to pick up a bottle of wine or other "spirit" on the way home to match with dinner.

Yesterday, and again today my friend went here to purchase alcohol. The first time we went there they accepted her ID, (a New York state ID that is valid, but not a driver's license), but told her she would need to bring a different ID next time because it looked fake. She's turning 22 this May, so we obviously found this ridiculous, because they took my New Jersey state license just fine. Yesterday, the SAME employee REJECTED her ID, claiming he couldn't sell to her because it was fake. He was going to take it until my friend had to THREATEN to call the cops (because yeah, it's illegal to seize and destroy real ID's). Today, my friend went in with her state ID, passport, and ORIGINAL COPY OF HER BIRTH CERTIFICATE, and she was STILL REFUSED. They claimed all of the documents were faked, and that they would sell to her if she was a man because it's "easier to tell when men are 21." Needless to say, the employees that work at this establishment were frankly sexist assholes, and I am NEVER shopping at this store again, nor the Star Market attached. I'm genuinely disgusted with how my friend was treated, the poor quality of customer service, and the outright lies the employees were saying. Do they even realize how f-ing difficult it is to forge birth certificates and passports? Clearly they're not well trained to spot fakes versus reals, or they were just being assholes. Whoever is the hiring manager of this establishment clearly doesn't know how to hire reliable and intelligent individuals. Congratulations, you've lost not only TWO customers, but all of our friends that we're currently telling about this horrific treatment.
