I hate to give such a low rating. But I just expected more. The menu is limited but there are several grab and go items as well as bakery. So that was fun to look through and choose from. But the layout of the inside is very cramped and I wasn't quiet sure of how it all worked just walking in the door, to the point that I had to ask someone. She was very helpful and pleasant. But it didn't make the situation any less awkward. The food was good but not great. My son was disappointed in his grilled cheese and ended up eating half of my fish. I hated the summer rolls but ate them because they were $8. We got an apple crumble to take home and eat alamode. It didn't impress for the $12 we paid. This was a one and done for me. read more

With a rotating, seasonal, farm to table slanted menu, this cozy, classy spot continues to deliver on flavorful, innovative and elevated dishes. The saffron and golden raisin scone knocked my socks off with its rich buttery, well-balanced floral sweetness (hey saffron!) and pops of juicy raisins. The crust is flaky to perfection, with a melt in your mouth pillowy center. The 'karma farm' green kabocha squash small plate combines delicate roasted notes with a subtle balsamic tang, paired with creamy whipped ricotta and toasted pine nuts providing a welcome crunch to complete the textural spectrum. Going 3 for 3, the kitchen delivered another winner with the 'karma farm' roasted sunchoke sandwich. Fresh, crusty lemon and rosemary bread provides the perfect vehicle for the mild spice of the chili oil, wilted local greens, pillowy whipped ricotta and of course, sunchokes with an ideal crunch to soft, roasted center. There isn't that much seating and the tables are small. They should have a 30-45 minute seating policy. Usually my visits here are for networking coffee meetings- I consistently choose the Corner Pantry for proximity to my office and for the good food and coffee. But this weekend, driven by nostalgia for family holiday traditions, I came in search of hot cross buns. And they were amazing! I ate them at home, toasted, with butter, with a cup of tea. Came with some friends for Saturday brunch. I ordered the pork roast to split with a friend and it was absolutely amazing. The pork belly skin was so crisp, and the fat just melts in your mouth. The cauliflower and parsnip purée was a nice light touch. The homemade apple sauce was that gentle sweet touch we needed. The Yorkshire pudding?? Perfectly crisp on the outside and custardy within, perfect to soak up all the delicious roast juices. But surprisingly, the humble fried potato took the show. Fried in pork fat, the crisp skin gave way to pillowy, steaming, unadulterated potato. I am in awe of this establishment. I also tried their butternut squash pancakes. Just a blast of butternut squash at first bite, followed by maple trailing behind. Finally, I had a few bites of the shakshuka. They run a tight ship... what a delightful treat while visiting Baltimore. It was apparent they know how to run things (who runs the world?) while serving up tasty homemade food. This biscuit is life. Bacon cheddar biscuit with the MOST perfectly flavored eggs (I don't always love eggs, but these were perfect). The staff was helpful and intuitive, as I'm sure I looked like I'd never been there before. I'm not sure if it was the owner who took my order (blonde shoulder length hair - adorable ), but she talked me through my order and I was not disappointed. We went for a quick breakfast this morning and we wanted to try something new. I have never heard of this place until today! It's a cute and cozy little restaurant/Café. The first thing I noticed was all of their baked goods and pastries lined up on the counter, they looked delicious!! We ordered the skinny egg sandwich and the buckwheat pancakes to share. Both were very tasty! The egg sandwich had a nice amount of food inside of the sandwich (sometimes breakfast sandwiches can be skimpy on the fillings) this was not that! The buckwheat pancakes had a very good flavor to them and did not taste bland or grainy, they were delicious especially with the house made apple butter! There was no need for butter or syrup on these pancakes!! I had a hot green tea which is my favorite with breakfast. The food was very fresh and healthy, and the staff was very friendly. I would love to come back here and try the scones or crumpets, those were things I wanted to try but I will save them for next visit! I always drive by The Corner Pantry, but I've never stopped in before so my roommate and I decided to check it out before our walk at Lake Roland! She got a mini pizza which she said was really good and that she would get again next time. It was an item in the glass they had out for display, so I'm not sure if they have it daily or not. It also wasn't on the menu. I chose to get the TCP croque madame, having no idea what it was. I loved the presentation that it was served, however, I didn't love the welsh rarebit. I thought it was a bit bitter, but maybe that is how it is supposed to be and I just don't have the acquired taste for it! Otherwise, I'm rating it 4/5 because I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the interior décor and would definitely return to try other things on the menu! read more

Corner Pantry is such a delightful and a quaint cafe. This place was on my list to try for a while, and I had the chance to come here for a brunch. I ordered the London Fog, which is like a British Tea with some vanilla foam on the top. The tea was smooth and delicious with a touch of sweetness. For my brunch, I ordered the Coronation Chicken Sandwich, which contains curried chicken salad and lettuce. It's almost like a regular chicken salad sandwich, but the only difference would be that it contains "curried chicken". At first, I thought it was too sweet, but after a few bites, I actually started liking it. The bread was very crunchy, and it went along well with the curried chicken. This was my first visit to Corner Pantry. I noticed several convenient carry-out only parking spaces. Some outdoor seating available. I completed an online order via Toast. Upon entering, there is posted signage directing guests where to go, but I was also greeted and very kindly directed to a shelf where all of the pre-paid orders that were ready for pickup are placed. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich which comes with housemade salt and vinegar chips. The food was excellent. It had a generous portion of turkey, creamy cheddar, & toppings with great flavor and some kick from the jalapeno aioli. The chips are not as tart as I like my vinegar chips but tasty nonetheless. I've eaten here before, decent food, but trying a bit too hard to be exclusive with pedestrian ingredients. However, my complaint is about the service not the food. My daughter and I went for lunch; Me: "hi! I would like two orders of avocado toast with a fried egg." Server: "hold on...I'm sorry, we can't do that." Me: "ha, ha, funny ....(awkward silence) ...."seriously?, there is an egg sandwich on the menu??"! Server; "yes, but that is not a fried egg" Me: ??? What? We love the Corner Pantry! The food is scrumptious and fresh. We usually have our 'treat' by going there on the weekend! In theory, the COVID response is great with tables reserved to ensure safe distance, people with visors. And, we understand now everything goes perfectly. At the same time, we were disappointed and dismayed both with a customer and how some staff responded to our complaint. An individual cake in and sat down behind us at a clearly marked table with a reserved sign. We pointed this out to the customer, and he said he saw the sign. I told him the table was supposed to stay empty, yet he would not leave. I approached a staff member, who visited and said that yes, the table was marked reserved, but the customer could still use it if socially distanced. The staff member and customer seemed to convince each other that 4' really was 6' and that it was OK to stay. Another individual served that customer, and made a comment that I only can take as critical of us by saying to the customer, 'They need this...WE don't need this). I assume the staff member was referring to the protection and social distancing. We did not appreciate the snarky comment, and the experience ruined our meal. This is a VERY different message from the controlled seating and social distancing we had the prior couple of weeks. I want the Corner Pantry to succeed...and I hope that management takes time to re-educate employees and show that there is a complete commitment to safety. We follow the rules, and so should everyone else. Unfortunately, we've had to take our weekly brunch business elsewhere, as we do not feel our concerns were taken seriously. I found this place on-line & immediately knew I had to check it out. Everything look ver fresh in pictures, from the desserts to the salad bar they have as an option. I ordered the chicken and bacon waffle sandwich, but subbed my bread for ciabatta bread. I wasn't craving a waffle. I have to say my sandwich was DELICIOUS! You can tell the bread is baked in house or that they get their bread from a grade A bakery. The spread is made in house, the chef was actually making sandwiches as they were ordered and service would come & deliver them to you. I can go on and on. The chicken tasted like it was oven back, perfect amount of seasoning so it did not over power the sandwich the mixture of the ingredients in the sandwich. Fresh lettuce, tomato, the bacon was thick cut and not super fried like most places give you. I also ordered a side of pesto mayo ( amazing ). The sandwich came with a side of house made chips. You can tell they were made fresh! Had a vinegar hint. They were great!! My friend ordered the smoked turkey. It was definitely smoked. You could taste the smokiness in every bit of the sandwich. The added cheddar is shredded and super tiny, but it's great bc it's in every bite! She also ordered a Lemonade. Delicious! It was not super sweet like other lemonades. Rather, it was very traditional! Tart, semi-sweet & just perfect. We both really enjoyed our visit & the portion was phenomenal. We both had to take the other half of our sandwiches home. Quant, intimate and a handful of seats inside. Outside patio which is nice. The line can come out the door. The customer service was amazing. Everyone was very polite, thoughtful and helpful.
