This is like a bodega in Upperfells. I have had their food a lot catered at a lot of the events I go to in butchers Hill, but I've actually never walked in the doors in person. I was here for an art show. it's really cool charmed kitchen partners with Baltimore Art Gallery to change out the art on their walls, and it's available for sale and it's all to support local artists. It is a little hipster bougie and the wine selection isn't bad. It's a little bit more mainstream. They have a lot of beer. I found a couple natural wines. The Portuguese wine that I normally buy for $9 was $14, but again there's a little bit of a service fee here since it's like a local corner store. I was so happy to see that I could buy Taharka brother's ice cream here because they recently pulled out a Broadway market, and I was having to drive outside of fells point but now I can just walk to this convenience store! The food has always been solid here, but I was so incredibly shocked at the grilled chicken Caesar salad honestly, I'm still thinking about the wrap and I want to get another one desperately. The house salad, which is an upcharge of four dollars was really delicious as well. Such a solid spot and they do lots of promos like on Wednesdays you can buy pasta and get a glass of wine for one cent. It's really such a cool place! read more

Very friendly employees and people here. We stopped by later in the evening and they had a chalk event going on right outside so it was a pretty busy corner. There was a small line to order but it moved quickly. We ordered three orders of beignets (3 per order) - to go and we waited about 10 minutes. When given to us, they were hot and smelled so good. The beignets were yummy. They weren't too sweet and had the right crisp. Nutella was given to us on the side and the beignets tasted yummy when dipped. It's a cute neighborhood cafe but wow the prices are a bit steep! I got the pancakes but they were very bland & although it said it came with Nutella, as someone who eats way too much of it, what you got was not true Nutella but a different and less sweet hazelnut spread. And the pancakes pictures were $14! Behind are the beignets, which also came with the same hazelnut spread, 3 for $6. The service was quick and pleasant. read more

There were several people placing to go orders and waiting as well as several diners. The service was fine and the turnaround for my latte and sandwich were quick. I did find the bagel to be quite hard but the ingredients were good. The lavender latte was mild but also good overall. They serve alcohol here, mainly wine and beers it looked like. Small cute spot near Patterson Park. I got the Spinach and Berry Salad ($14). It also had pine nuts and blue cheese crumble in it. I thought they added way to much blue cheese. Blue cheese alone has a very strong and powerful flavor. Unfortunately, that flavor overwhelmed the rest of the salad. In the future, I would ask to get the blue cheese on the side. The Lox Sandwich ($13) was lacking. They seemed to only have two options for the bagels left: blueberry and poppy seed. Obviously, I went with the poppy seed bagel, which unfortunately turned out to be VERY stale. The sandwich itself was just okay. There was not enough cream cheese, but I will say they did add a generous amount of smoked salmon. You can order online on the Toast app. The service was pretty fast. There is street parking nearby. They have specials on certain days of the week. I would like to come back on a Saturdays, when you can get a spritz cocktail for just $5 with a purchase of an appetizer. Charm'd Kitchen gives exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot. It is chill, welcoming, and affordable enough to make being a regular feel easy. I tried their iced lavender latte with oat milk and the bacon, egg, and cheese on multigrain. Both made for a satisfying, relaxed meal and were exactly what I wanted. This place was a recommendation from out AirBnB host, and was a short drive from where we stayed overnight after coming up to Baltimore for a concert. I had coffee at our AirBnB, and my wife ordered an oat milk Chai Latte which she loved. All together, between her and i we ordered the : Breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, beignets (basically just mini croissants), the special pierogies with honey & Old bay, and the Daybreak toast. We moved to butchers hill in January and have been here a handful of times and had such a good experience! The servers here are always attentive and down to earth, definitely a local casual vibe in the cafe! Dinner is pretty good here, but I really enjoy their breakfast items! The Ham and cheese croissant is a really good grab and go breakfast option and they make solid lattes! I think it's cool that they have a little market in here with local vendors! There's a bakery in harbor east called Kneads and they sell some of their bread here, as well as Taharka Bros ice cream and more! Love how much of a community feel there is here. My husband and I came to Charmed kitchen for breakfast and we were NOT disappointed: What an adorable neighborhood cafe. We thought this was just a lunch place but soon realized they serve breakfast lunch and dinner as well as a local bar. They have wine and local beer on tap and for sale and I can totally see myself enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon here with a glass of wine and a good book! The food was also great! I really want to love this place. The coffee is good, they are open early, and they are the only convenient cafe in this part of Butchers Hill. However. The service is consistently very slow and the food is inconsistent. Sometimes it's delightful and sometimes it's the opposite. This morning I stopped in for coffee and a power box - yogurt, granola, fruit, and a bagel. The latte was great. The granola was a solid chunk, the fruit cup was 1/3 lemon wedges, and the bagel appeared to have been microwaved. There is an absence of charm and instead a decent neighborhood bodega. A cold and uninterested staff is fine for a bodega with a wide variety of snacks, ice cream, beer, and wine offerings but not for a restaurant and cafe. Orders are rarely correct and on this occasion our ticket was lost and we found a couple lemons in our fruit cup. Frequenting Charmed Kitchen for over a year, I have gotten to know the "... neighborhood restaurant in Butcher's Hill" quite well. Charmed Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also serve coffee and pastries. The Kitchen has a wide array of options on their menu, and they also offer specials that can be found near the register. Yesterday, I ordered the goat cheese croquettes w/ shrimp and a meatball sub with chips. The croquettes were crispy and filled with delicious goat cheese, topped with well-seasoned Cajun shrimp. Although the bowl looks small, the croquettes dish was filling. The meatball sub was assembled with toasted garlic bread, Brie, ricotta, and house-made meatballs. The meatballs were good sized and well seasoned. The chips were also well seasoned and quite delicious. Although the price is a bit higher than others in the market, the cost is indeed justified by the food quality and presentation. There are plenty of unique and delicious coffee options, such as lavender flavor, that are budget friendly. The layout of the Kitchen is appealing, and they display artwork by local artists that customers have the option to purchase. Charmed Kitchen also offers a selection of liquor, ice cream, and candles. Some of these products cannot be found at your usual retailers. The customer service has always been great in my experience. The employees have always been friendly, and I noticed that some remember weekly customer names, naturally making someone feel like they are an appreciated customer. My only complaint is the business should do a better job at keeping surfaces clean in the dining area, which is why I am not giving five stars. Nevertheless , I do acknowledge that the employees generally are busy with servicing customers. My one complaint therefore suggests that this is more of a managerial issue about the allocation of human capital. Good work, Charmed Kitchen! read more

They literally decorated the building with items that are actually for sale. The also represent Baltimore well from the Taharka Brothers ice cream to the local artist pictures of the wall which can be purchased. Now, to the food! I have had beignets before, but never with Nutella! They were fried perfectly and the Nutella was an welcomed addition. And the wings!! I feel confident in stating that the the wings were some of the best I've tasted in Baltimore! They were fired hard and not overly sauced. Wow I have to amend my previous review. I did Charmed Kitchen dirty, and I'm so sorry. I'm so happy I gave them another chance because now I go here a few times a week, for sure. I had one experience of slow service, but this is my lesson to always give folks second chances. The folks here are SO friendly, and it's so lovely that it's right around the corner from my house, it makes me feel like a cool local going to the cute neighborhood coffee shop/cafe. I usually get their iced chai lattes on the weekends--they're not my favorite ever (sometimes there's a bit too high of a chai:milk ratio) but it still does the trick. (Better than Pitango's, but not as good as Daily Grind's). I love their beignets--they're simultaneously fluffy and dense, and therefore fun and indulgent to eat. The accompanying creme fraiche is also *chef's kiss*. I would definitely try more of their stuff for lunch and dinner especially, I don't think I have taken full advantage of what they have to offer. Once again, I apologize to Charmed Kitchen for my previously critical review--I'm so glad their service has super improved, because I am so happy to support them. They are also COVID friendly and now have a super convenient mini-grocery/liquor store situation going on. 5 stars for being a reliable neighborhood place with great, kind people, and cute vibes. read more

Charmed Kitchen has great sandwiches and bagels. The chai latte I got was unfortunately a bit more milky and did not have much of tea flavor. However, the vibes inside the store are great, and the outside seating is perfect for a morning brunch or afternoon lunch. My friends and I went for brunch on a Sunday 11:30a - we were seated pretty quickly but ended up waiting one hour for two omelettes and one grilled cheese. The omelette turned out to be very greasy/oily and I could feel it in my stomach all day... Plus it might be a nice addition to have small sides with the entrees like home fries and fruit or something. Charmed Kitchen is a neighborhood standby which provides a much needed source of breakfast for me in the upper fells area. There are not many restaurants here, you have to go towards fells point to find them, so Charmed is a godsend. They are always very nice, even when they are stressed and busy, and have surprisingly good bagels! Seriously, my go-to is a bagel with cream cheese and it's super satisfying. Also the area around is really nice so it makes for a nice morning walk. I usually also get a mocha, which I find slightly too sweet, but enjoy anyway. I really wish their salmon bagel sandwich cost less (it is currently at a crazy expensive $12.50 which I cannot justify next to the $3 bagel with cream cheese) but I still love coming here. Love, love, love! This was my second time to Charmed Kitchen and had another positive experience. Came on a Friday morning and it seemed consistently busy with local patrons. The cashier was friendly and attentive, and the sandwich (with the upgrade of ciabatta for $1.50 instead of multigrain) was about $10 including tip. The sandwich was pretty large and good value for money. The bread was perfect and crusty with a fried egg and sausage patty with my choice of cheese, cheddar. It took a while to come out, but this is a small business and I suspect there were only two people working (one cooking, one taking orders). The inside is very cute and trendy with exposed brick, cool patterned rile floors, marble counters and a European bistro feel. In addition to their own menu, they also sell beer/wine, Taharka Brothers ice cream, and Mexican popsicles (paletas). Their outdoor seating is ample for a small restaurant. I can see why Charmed Kitchen attracts loyal local customers and I plan to come back when I'm in the area next. Definitely a gem! read more

Geez, how have I never heard of Charmed Kitchen?! This little gem packs a delightful punch. We were able to scurry over here after the Yelp event for free beignets. Walking up to the location gave me a bit of nostalgia because as a kid, corner stores in my neighborhood were actually on the corner. So I love the location already, then upon entry we were greeted by wine!!!! I'm no wine connoisseur but I know with all the varieties of wine they have here, there are some great ones. We took in the scenery inside and found hand paintings of Michael Jackson and others. That was pretty cool to see an artists (local?) work sitting on the walls of such a wonderful establishment. We put our order in for the beignets, two caramel lattes and added 2 orders of wings(Baltimore Buffalo, a new flavor and mango habanero). We ate the beignets in the car and they were so good. You don't even have to dip them in the Nutella. But of course, Nutella is an added bonus as that taste great anyway. Once we got home we dove right into the wings. I think I prefer Baltimore Buffalo over regular Buffalo flavored wings. The hint of old bay gave it a great twist on the traditional. They were saucy like I enjoy them as well. The mango habanero was sweet with just a hint of spice(turn the heat up a little more, I won't mind lol) and the flavors worked well. I got the breakfast sandwich with ciabatta upgrade; substituted mushrooms for meat. So big I saved half for later. I'll start off by saying my food was delicious. I had the lox bagel with capers and veggie cream cheese and it was exactly what I needed. I showed up with some friends and we ordered our food to eat there, hoping that a table would open up by the time our food was ready. We actually all ended up waiting 20-30 minutes for each of our orders. My order was ready first, and when it was brought out, we were still standing there waiting for a table. We figured it was fine, and we could just ask for our food to be put in to-go containers since no tables were available for us. My bagel sandwich was brought out by one of the staff members and it looked SO DELICIOUS, I couldn't wait to eat it. I asked the staff member if I could actually have it to go since no tables were available, and she said ok. I assumed that they would just wrap my sandwich up so I could leave with it, but 10 minutes later, there was no sign of my sandwich. I was getting concerned. Finally, the staff member came back out with the a box in a bag. When I opened the box later, the bagel was completely deconstructed. The cream cheese was separate, as was the lox, onion, tomato, and capers. It was SUCH a bummer because I was really looking forward to eating the sandwich they carried out for me. I guess we were all just confused as to why the sandwich that got brought out to me originally couldn't have just been wrapped up for me when I asked for it to go? Like, why did the original bagel have to be discarded? It was just a strange thing to do. Anyway, I think I would only come back here if it wasn't busy. read more
