It's been a while since I've been amazed by a slice of pizza that wasn't in NYC, and Doppio was so good that it had me savoring every bite! We stopped by after visiting the bookstore next door, and we love the indoor/outdoor vibe of this small pizza spot. We quickly placed our order and were easily able to get a table even though it was busy! The staff was friendly and helped us with getting anything we needed. The pizza was phenomenal. Crunchy, cheesy, crispy pepperoni, and an amazing sauce, what more could you ask for? It was a 10/10! We will definitely be back! read more

Doppio has been on my list of places to go forever and it absolutely did not disappoint!!! The pizza was incredible and surprisingly filling! I want to try every kind of pizza they have. The real star for me, however, was the maritozzi-- filled with coconut cream and a passion fruit curd! It is the main impetus behind me finally making my way to Doppio and it was extremely worth it. It's airly, lightly sweet, tart, and everything I wanted it to be! The food also came out fast, easy to pick up and take home. Doppio moved down the street right next to R House and I have been back twice in the span of a week. And the food and drinks are just as good as they were last time. This time I did try a slice of their pizza, and got the quattro formaggi. It was delicious and the bit of pistachio they sprinkle on it brings it home. I did get a maritozzi again and it was just as good as I remembered it. On my second visit they were all out of chocolate by 11:30am..which limited a lot of the drink options. I did however enjoy the golden saffron milk, and it paired nicely with the seven veils chocolate cake slice. If there was ever a case to be made for a decadent hazelnut cake slice to be the star of the show.. its this cake slice. It's still a first come first serve situation for seating so if its a busy morning good luck. But service is always good, they bring your food and drink out to you. Amazing Sicilian bakery spot great for coffee and pastries or lunch/dinner. It's tiny inside so expect a line at the door. For lunch we grabbed a slice and the arancini special--it was a ramp pesto with cheese and it was actually fire. The pizza was a bit greasy for my taste, but flavor wise was incredible. I first discovered Doppio at a library event where local bakers shared their craft, and their passion really stuck with me. Not long after, I started seeing them at the farmers market, which only made me more curious about what they were doing. I finally made my way into their cafe and ordered a matcha latte (not pictured) along with a strawberry pistachio tart. Both were excellent. First the tart was delicate but flavorful, with the strawberries balancing beautifully against the nutty pistachio, and the matcha had just the right smooth earthiness without being overly sweet. A lovely Italian café with a beautifully designed counter. I tried the London Fog tea and a honey cream bombolone based on the staff's recommendation. Both were great. I guess with fried dough and rich cream, joy can be that simple. The café has limited indoor seating but plenty of tables outside. I do wonder how they'll handle that once the weather cools down, but for now, the experience has been delightful. It's a neighborhood hub. I get the salted hot chocolate with an espresso shot and it's probably the best coffee I've ever have. I'm so glad they found a permanent home right next to greedy reads and across the street from R. house. Because they use sophomore coffee their coffee here is amazing. I am sad they got rid of the orange coffee, but their Cortado is probably my favorite in the city. I've yet to try their pizzas and main lunch items, but I love their pastries as well as their tarts. I stopped by again over a very busy weekend as it was greedy reads' lost weekend. Despite the crowd, they were so friendly and because they were out of everything I ended up just getting a sesame baguette, and I asked for some butter, but they didn't have any so they just brought me out a plate of olive oil which I thought was so lovely. Tremendous staff, it is a little small on the inside, but they do have a bathroom and a massive outdoor seating area. They include a standard 15% tip on everything and their prices are pretty fair. Doppio means "double" in Italian and is commonly used when ordering an espresso. I also like that their ingredients are all from local farmers and vendors, even down to their coffee. They utilize Sophomore coffee, which is delicious. Now let's get into this delicious food and wine. Me and a few friends had a hankering for pizza and wine and honestly wanted to unwind after a long work week, So I suggested this place, and they have been on my bucket list for a hot minute. They did not disappoint. We decided to build our own 16 inch pizza with various toppings( pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and calabrian chili for that heat), gotta have my spice. We decided to split a bottle of wine, which is so much cost effective than buying glasses of wine. We also did the dessert, I tried their cannoli which was okay, not my personal fave, but it was just okay. The pizza was slamming and I will most definitely go back. I will try the other desserts, next time I go I will say try to go on the earlier side so you can get a table or a seat, because it will fill up fast. 4'26'2025 Hubby and I stopped in this establishment for a Hot Beverage. I cannot negate the wonderful brick oven pizza aroma that spewed in the air. Oh my!! Baltimore Bakery Crawl stop #6 of seven places! My best friend, her college bestie, her husband, and I spent Sunday 2/2 exploring different Baltimore bakeries. I tried two things here, so this review is based on that! At this point in the crawl we were looking for a "palate cleanser" so went with an arancini formaggio. It was a funny pick, but we were pleased. Everyone really enjoyed the cheesy excellence of this risotto ball. It was one giant ball that we split. I love all the natural lighting that pours into this space. There are plenty of tables to sit at. You order at the front then sit wherever. We also tried the lemon ricotta cookie. One of us was wishing there was anise in the cookie. I liked it for the most part. It was very lemony. I'd be excited to return to try other things on their menu. read more

I had seen Doppio Pasticceria on social media through a friend and I was in the mood for some baked goods so I came by around 10:45 am on a Sunday morning. There are precisely 3 parking spots at the bakery with free street parking also available (though be sure to check signage for restrictions!). There is also very limited (and coveted!) seating so you should expect to take your items to-go, and for drinks they do not offer any lids in an attempt to limit their use of plastic but this of course will leave your hot drinks become cold very rapidly. When I came, the line was massive, nearly out the door so it took me about 15 minutes just to order. Secondly, they do not rebake most of their items once they sell out, so once they are gone, they are GONE for the day so you absolutely must come early. I was very disappointed to see that virtually every single item on the bakery menu was sold out though they did rebake the bourekas so I was able to grab a fresh warm one of these. Chocolate Spice Biscotti 1.5/5, strangely soft and large, did not taste like a traditional hard biscotti, reminded me of chocolate cake in its softness, would not order again London fog 4/5, the Earl Grey is strong here, this was a nice drink that I would reorder Boureka 5/5, I have had many a boureka in my life. This one was more unique through their use of goat cheese which added a pleasant tang to the pastry and I would order this again. read more

I will say though, I acknowledge that this is a small business, and that a paper was posted on the door for 15% gratuity automatically included, but I felt like it was unusual since Doppio is mainly a cafe, I would've preferred it if they increased the price of the items rather than "service charge" so -1 star. Tiramisu was...not great. Didn't have lady fingers (was some kind of vanilla cake layers), the creamy binder tasted more like whipped cream than marscapone, and the espresso flavor was lacking. 4/10. Brioche bun was decent. Soft, slightly sweet. Best dipped in tea/coffee. 8/10. Pistachio latte with oat milk was decent. Not much pistachio flavor but was topped with crushed pistachios which helped. 7/10. Cortado was decent. 8/10. Service was friendly. Extremely limited seating. It was raining so the outdoor benches weren't much of an option. Very clean and good atmosphere. Just really disappointed about the tiramisu, especially from a bakery that openly advertises being Sicilian Italian. Well I don't know how I missed Doppio as I've been to R House a few times. They popped up on a search as I was looking for a new Cafe to try. I missed their temporary sign and only saw the JbGb sign and decided to stop and make sure they existed. Good decision! They moved into this location in June, 2024. Parking is mainly street and luckily found a space quickly. It looked like they had more outdoor seating than indoor. Always a good sign when a coffee shop makes their own syrup. The Pistachio (with house made Pistachio syrup) Cappucino looked good but unfortunately they were sold out. More will be made tonight so will be available tomorrow. Went with a Dark Mocha with Oat milk. Rich chocolate flavors vs sugar- just the way I like it-delicious! Ordered a Muffaleta-cold sandwich. I warmed it up at home and it was excellent! House-made Giardinera & enjoyed whole grain Focaccia which isn't your usual Muffaleta bread. They also have pizza-for now, only 16" Pies and slices. To try and for sharing, went with slices-regularly have Cheese and Pepperoni and the special for the day was Quattro Formaggi. Thinner/NY style crust with lighter sauce and good balance of cheese and toppings. Who knew a Cafe/Bakery could produce legit pizza?! But wait there's more...For dessert it was Maritozzo (you don't see this one everywhere-must try!) Brioche heaven filled with decadent cream, fig spread and topped with Figs. Wow! Second dessert-buttery/flaky crust sandwich cookie with grape filling and sesame seeds-forgot the name but no matter -both were delicious! Friendly and engaged people that were patient with my questions. Be prepared to take your coffee cup without a lid as they don't do single use plastic which is cool. doppio is a cute italian eatery, including baked goods, coffee, pizza, and other savory bites. there isn't too much seating, but i usually don't have trouble finding a spot. i've tried several pastries from here and their pizza. the bombolone (vanilla) and maritozzi (pistachio/lemon curd) were my favorites. keep an eye on the flavors as it seems they may change seasonally. they have an interesting flavor profile in most of their desserts; in the cannolis there is orange peel/blossom, and i've tasted rose in some of their other desserts. the desserts are well made and very tasty, but some of those notes can be a little off-putting depending on your preferences. my friends love the tiramisu too, sometimes coming here just for that. their pizza crust tastes a little like sourdough. i think their pizza is the best in the area, especially when dressed up with the provided red pepper flakes. the slices they make are quite large, so i tend to be full after one. the service here is very good. the staff are very nice. they have an automatic 15% gratuity, which the staff has mentioned every time i ordered for transparency. i am excited to try more things here! read more

Checked out their new and permanent space. Cozy spot with three or so tables with bar seating. There's a waiting bench across from the entrance. The staff is friendly. When we went, their pizza oven was broken, so they were only doing plain and pepperoni slices, not pies. The Caesar salad was pretty good, but they ran out of the crispy chicken skin. I also got their arancini, which was good. We ordered two plain slices and a slice of pepperoni. I definitely prefer the pies over the slices. I've been to their other locations as well, all in all a great option for some Sicilian cuisine. My favorite thing from my most recent visit was their panna cotta. Also, every item is made from freshly milled flour from PA grown, organic wheat. My wife with a gluten sensitivity can eat whatever she wants here and not feel terrible the next day. I had seen Doppio all over social media for months and finally had the chance to try it. I was sadly very disappointed by the experience. Perhaps the previous group of patrons could've been better at not leaving such a large mess at every table we tried to sit at. It was a busy Friday and I know the staff was occupied trying to keep the line down but the tables were so dirty and messy. The water glasses for water were also dirty sadly. The pizza was what I was looking forward to the most for weeks and fell very flat for someone who lived in NYC for years and gets super excited for a NY slice. The slices I got were much smaller than neighboring tables. The flavor was mid at best. It was incredibly noisy inside and very overstimulating. I was very happy to see this place finally opened up. I wasn't disappointed. I only had coffee and dessert. I was served a proper espresso;rich with excellent crema, served with a small glass of sparkling water, as it should be. I also had a fresh fig tart, which was really nicely done. Very tasty. I didn't eat pizza, but it looked and smelled good and they were baking it right in the kitchen where you could see them. Doppio Pasticceria has some of the best Pizza I've eaten outside of New York City. The shop is a quaint corner shop tucked neatly between other close businesses, a neat outdoor patio that is enticing for more temperate weather. I stopped by for a quick lunch on a weekday. The service was solid. They did their jobs well & I wasn't expecting to have my dishes cleared for me, very thoughtful of them. I ordered a Cappuccino & 1 slice each of their Sour Dough New York Style Pizza which was: Cheese, Pepperoni & the special slice of the day. The Cappuccino was solid, okay latte art but the texture of the milk foam on the top was perfect. The balance of the cappuccino was satisfying, nice texture with a solid flavor. I would recommend ordering their coffee drinks. Now the pizza was an unexpected HIT. The pizza was better than I expected, a nice chewy yet crispy crunchy thin crust contrasting a light sauce & savory cheese all around. I thought the Cheese slice was slightly oily for my tastes, but it was fine after I dabbed some of the oil away with a napkin. The Pepperoni slice wasn't oily with cheese but with oil from the pepperoni cups, making it actually flavorful oil and not unneeded grease, great contrast. Their tomato sauce is on the sweeter side but it makes sense because they do sour dough pies, and if you take a bite of just crust you'll notice the sour aroma much more than if you ate it with all the toppings. Their slice of the day, I cannot recall the name unfortunately, but it was a very allium heavy pizza featuring a sweet Oniony Green sauce, Caramelized Onions & garnished with LOTS of Chives. I liked this slice the most because it surprised me the most. I'd never seen a slice like this before but it was really nice for the first few bites. My one notice is that it was slightly too sweet if you ate a lot of it at once. You need another slice like the Cheese or Pepperoni to balance and contrast the sweet aroma of all the alliums. On the positive side though, this pizza absolutely had the best crust of all the slices. Crunchiest bottom yet the most airy satisfying chew. Next time I might ask my slices to be extra toasted to see if I can get a similar bite, just fantastic. Overall, I think Doppio Pasticceria is an excellent addition to Baltimore's food scene and will definitely be returning to try their Arancini & getting another slice of their pizza! read more

Ever since JBGB closed we have been looking for a new pizza spot. Plenty of street parking available. This place is relatively small, the line was long and everyone is crowded at the entrance. Once you place your order you get a table number and theres seating outside and very limited inside. We sat at a picnic table and got our pizza within 25-30 minutes. It came out hot but undercooked. I was hoping this type of pizza have a crispy undercarriage but it didn't. They were pretty busy so it seemed like they were rushing pizzas out, not allowing it to get to that level of crispyness that sourdough pizza's usually have. The flavor was great but the texture was off. When we went, it seemed as the outside operated as self-serve - we had to get our own silverware, red pepper, and there was a place for our trays/garbage. Not sure why they automatically charge gratuity when theres no service so beware of this. I would come back to try their pastries but not worth it for pizza. read more
