Nice breakfast at Kneads. Of course it's a little on the pricey side. I love the ube donut but this tons it was a little dry. I couldn't believe the portion size for the hash bowl. 3rd time we tried this place and again it was awful. I ordered eggs, potatoes, and bacon. Eggs were undercooked, bacon undercooked, potatoes not edible. They had so much spice it was unbelievable. This was the preexisting Atwarter in Canton, MD, which changed hands to Kmeads. So we decided to give Ķneads a try after they had time to settle in. It looked fully furnished.yet nicely decorated. The deli display cases offered 3 full rows of swèet treats, each, magazine prètty. Everything was eye candy. No kidding and eye candy is probably a misuse of the word. On the 2 menus (basically 1 for the sweets, and the other for more of soups, salads, and sandwiches) .This splitting made it easier. The coffee was hot and strong, so if you like it that way, you will be happy. Hubby had to add some of my ice water to it. The staff theŕe were nice in a business sort of way. I was expecting otherwise. Maybe they wère having a bad day. We ordered a Ube donut, a chicolate dipped donut, and a slice of Smith Island cake. The 2 donuts weŕe on the dry side, a bit crumbly, what came to mind was they could have been made better by a microwave. I dont know if they even have one. Who knew there was 3 Kneads locations?!! I'm so use to going to the original location. I tried the Boston street Cafe just to see what it was giving. The cafe is cute. The staff treated me immediately upon entering the space. Now to the sweets. There were so many to choose from... the sweet potato whoooie pie looked so good. I chose the Pistachio Baklava Croissant and the Banana Bread Latte. Both were really good. I love banana flavored baked goods so I could've used more banana flavor on the front end. I decided to stop in for a late lunch today. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread. Boy, was this a hearty sandwich! It was so thick that it was a challenge getting my mouth around it! The sandwich had avocado spread, lettuce, tomatoes and onions on it. The flavor was really good, but the consistency of the chicken salad left a little to be desired. It was kind of liquidy, so chunks squirted out of the sandwich each time you took a bite, making it a bit messy to eat. After using quite a few napkins, I decided to console myself with a yummy chocolate almond croissant. As it was almost closing time, they gave me both of the croissants that were on display, which was so nice. I'm assuming the negativity is coming from the fact that we all loved and miss Atwater at this location so I tried to go into this with an open mind. I do wish they would have done more than change the chairs and paint the wall, even the wording on the windows look the same lol! The new chairs makes the space feel a little cramped so it's not as nice to sit and work but it will do. I often pop in for a latte and a snack the same way I treated the space before, though now it's a bit more expensive. Coffee wise I like the roast they use so I have no complaints and their bakery is top tier so grabbing a donut or pastry will never be a complaint! Kneads is the biggest disappointment in the chain of bakeries in Balitmore. The first location in harbor East is st least pretty; this new one is in the home of the Atwater and I LOVE Atwater so it's hard to compete. They really only updated the signage, but everything else has remained the same. I will say the bagel here is pretty fairly priced. I think I paid $2.50 which is kind of cheap. And it was fine, nothing special. Now the donut on the other hand, which is the main reason we came -- the donut was at the same time sour and yeasty for a regular glazed donut. I don't get it. It tasted old and bad. The coffee was average. And because it's new, there were a ton of people on a Saturday. I will say the staff was really really kind. I wanted to fill up my water bottle, but it wouldn't fit so the barista made me a to go cup of water. The store still feels very much like hot water. It's a smaller intimate space with a lot of counters. There is one bathroom so be prepared to wait if it's busy. read more

Finally made my way to Kneads! Straightforward coffee shop vibes - but if you're looking for a place to work remotely, there's only 2-3 outlets inside, however they do have open WiFi to use. I ordered a seasonal banana bread latte for $6 which was perfect - not too sweet and not artificial tasting the way I've experienced other banana flavorings. I also had a bacon egg cheese croissant. The croissant itself was heavenly, bacon is on the crunchier side, and egg is scrambled and fluffy if that's your preference. My down side is that the sandwich came plain, no sauce or veggies like sprouts or tomatoes also I didn't ask to add it since the sandwich itself was already $15! I added ketchup and mayo from packets they had available. Ordering is at the counter and they'll bring out the food to your table if you're dining in. read more

You could never make me hate Kneads, this is honestly the best spot in town. Yes, sometimes the lines can be long and the wait to sit down can be even longer if you go on a really busy day, but the food, coffee, and pastries are worth every minute you have to wait. The staff here takes really good care of this place, and as soon as you stand up from your table to leave, one of the workers is already on their way over to wipe down your spot. As a person that has visited the location downtown, I must say, I like the other menu and inside dining a little better. At the canton location, you stand in line, make your order and seat yourself. It's more like a regular coffee shop that sells pastries and breakfast. I had the steak and egg bagel. It was pretty cool and my coffee was decent too. The parking situation was great as it's right inside of a big shopping center. I would eat here again but likely at the other likely at the other location. I'd heard good things about this place, and a new location just opened in Canton Crossing where Atwater's used to be. There's plenty of free parking, and the space was clean and cute. I ordered a caramel latte and a sesame bagel with egg, cheese, and turkey bacon. My order came out within five minutes, but it was disappointing. The bagel lacked flavor, and the sesame aroma was nonexistent. It was soggy and fell apart, making it impossible to pick up and eat. The overall taste was bland. The coffee was hot and looked good, but it wasn't made properly (caramel wasn't mixed in). For $20, this meal wasn't worth it. In hindsight, I should have tried a pastry or something sweet, as those looked much better. I'd recommend saving your money and going to another coffee shop. read more

Again not bold flavors, I wasn't a a fan that the donut had been previously refrigerated making the bread molecules less soft and less fresh tasting. Same issue I had the first time I visited. I ordered a chocolate almond croissant and received just an almond croissant, I think you might have to heat it up so it tastes better but the portion was worth the price. I haven't tried the food options yet but pricing seemed expensive. They are fairly new so I think some of the staff is still getting trained. The ambiance is nice but again I think they are still getting the hang of things when it comes to cleaning up after customers. If you aren't familiar, Kneads is a fantastic bakery here in Baltimore. This is their third location. I've never had a bad pastry here. They also make a number of breakfast and brunch dishes. Seating is a little small here compared to the main location in Inner Harbor, but don't let that stop you. Fantastic, friendly service is what this place is known for. When we asked what drinks they could make us they had mentioned the matcha martini so I'm just a little confused as to why the espresso martini was unavailable... My first visit to the latest Kneads bakery shop in Canton Crossing. The store replaced a venerable shop that had wonderful salads. I ordered ice tea ($5 with no refills) and a steak and egg bagel. Delicious but not a hand held item. The bagel was huge, too soft for my tastes, but it worked well with the perfect eggs and shaved beef. This is a nice cozy space for Sunday morning but I was surprised that there were no refills on the ice tea, but the water was free self serve. Pleasant and attentive staff. This is a great addition to Canton Crossing, except for the obvious flaw noted above. read more

I would call myself a regular at this kneads location and while I haven't written a review yet, I was prompted to today after particularly great service and an all around pleasant experience. I come here all the time to study, often for many hours at a time. The staff are always so kind and friendly, they never make me feel unwelcome or uncomfortable for staying here with my laptop out and they always make my drinks as ordered (despite not having 2% milk, they're always willing to do half whole and half skim for me!). The shop is beautiful and spacious, with nice high ceilings and clean bathrooms. They also play really great music, which I appreciate. I just love kneads, it's my tried and true when I need a reliable place to settle in and get some work done with a delicious cup of liquid energy and joy on the side. read more
