We always like finding good beans fresh roasted near home! (Dec 2025). We used Bird City Blend k-cups ("Z"-cups :-) from Zeke's to make our morning cup with steamed foamed oat-milk and sugar :-). For fun, we also pushed some through our espresso machine to make espressos and a more intense ristretto (half the water) shot. Bird City Blend is a rich strong balanced brew, not bitter or sour, with light flavors of cocoa and filberts. We also got Zeke's seasonal dark-chocolate covered roasted beans. They were dark and delicious, with the good crunchy crunch of a real Arabica bean in the center. And they use Kopper's chocolate which we love! They've been at it for 29 years! Nice location, plenty of seating if you want to work. It's the Saturday morning rush and I asked for a light roast con panna. I expected espresso and whipped cream but received a black hot coffee. So I asked for a remake, but was met with two audibly annoyed baristas that took my coffee, poured out some room and added whipped cream. I was a barista before, I get it, but no. I went back to Zeke's today to co-work with a colleague while I'm in town and I'm really glad that I did. I arrived around 1pm and it was pretty busy, but my colleague had gotten there earlier and got us a table in the back room. I immediately ordered lunch upon getting settled. Squirrely was super nice & helped me decide on the Reuben with fries, and boy oh boy, I'm glad they did. I ate every single fry within minutes of receiving them, they didn't even need a dipping sauce. The Reuben was amazing, the corned beef was so tender. Their house made sauerkraut rye was perfect. Later, I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte, even though I said I'd wait til October for Pumpkin. It was perfect. I was happy because the first time I had coffee from Zeke's I thought it tasted burnt. It's a great place to have a yummy meal, a great cup of coffee and hang out. There's a covered patio with tables, and plenty of seating inside as well. It's cozy, yet has a spacious feel. Ended up at Zekes Coffee for breakfast, as it's a place I pass all the time but have never visited. The line to order was pretty long, but it gave me time to look over the menu. I decided on the chicken biscuit, but unfortunately, once I got to the register to order, I was told they were out of biscuits. I was so set on the chicken biscuit that it took me a minute to look at the menu again and settle on something else. I went with a basic bacon egg and cheese bagel and a chai latte. I've been stopping in regularly for about a month now. Sometimes to do work and sometimes just for a sodie. This cozy cafe has indoor and patio seating, free WiFi, and clean bathrooms. Staff are very friendly, and this location is a good community hub. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. But if I had to recommend anything it'd be the Nitro Cold Brew, or a Peach Italian Cream Soda. The Nitro Cold Brew almost looked and tasted like an iced stout beer. It was smooth and had a thick head, while providing that much needed pep in my step. It was definitely a head-turner and had other customers asking what I was drinking! I think what really hooked me in was the Italian sodas, especially since I don't have much of a sweet tooth. There are a ton of flavors here, but of the bunch I've tried here so far, peach is the best. Super refreshing and lightly sweet. Perfect anytime of day. Zeke's on Harford Road never disappoints! My boyfriend and I stopped in for cappuccinos and ended up leaving with a bag full of pastries. He had the raspberry danish--absolutely fantastic--and I went for the blueberry pop tart (highly recommend heating it up!) and the brownie-stuffed croissant. I also grabbed a coffee mug with two mini Zeke's coffee samples for daycare, plus a brownie and cinnamon bun for later. Before I moved to Baltimore, Zeke's was the only coffee shop I had heard of. My friend was a huge fan of theirs and she had periodically sent me bags of their beans. You better believe when we moved here, Zeke's was the first coffee shop we visited. What I love about Zeke's is the sheer number of roasts they will have available at any time. Walk into their shop and their shelves are packed full of various roasts and blends. I can always find something that interests me for my home coffee needs. Beside their coffee shelves, right by their entrance, is an illustrated graphic explaining the ingredients in all the different types of coffee. I love this! It means that not only will coffee snobs feel at home in their shop but the novice drinkers can be comfortable as well. Don't know the components of a drink? Just take a look at their wall. Zeke's has an extensive menu of hot and iced drinks. It is one of the largest I've seen. I've tried more drinks here than probably any other shop because of their menu size and constantly rotating "specials". 9 out of 10 times I enjoy these drinks. Zeke's also has a large variety of baked goods including a bunch of vegan options. The vegan chocolate croissants are gigantic! So, why not five stars? Mainly the parking. It stinks here. The lot is crowded and small and hard to navigate. I spend more time parking than ordering and drinking my coffee. I have begun to combat this by parking far away and walking. read more

I went to their coffee shop once before when they would make like one hot breakfast plate each weekend. I remember getting sausage biscuits and gravy and being blown away. I was in the area over the weekend and decided to pop in with my family. We tried the Ravens whoopie pie, breakfast burrito with sausage, and hot honey chicken biscuit. I also got an iced mocha that was the sh*t. So good. The whoopie pie was just two stale purple cookies with a massive amount of old buttercream. It wasn't good but my son really liked it, so that was a win in a way. The sausage on the breakfast burrito was cut into thin slices and had a weird texture. The burrito was cold with shredded cheese that wasn't melted bc the burrito was pretty cold. Which made it a weird thing to eat. They were out of biscuits, so the chicken sandwich was on what seemed to be a stale brioche bun. The chicken was flavorless. I was bummed! Maybe I went on an off day. I love the vibe at Zekes and I reaaallllyy love the selection of kids books for entertainment. Toddler parents don't always get to enjoy a relaxing coffee in the morning but a new book entertained our son for like 15 minutes, which felt like an hour of bliss. read more

I often get their bags of coffee from the farmers market so it's always a treat to visit their storefront. This was my second time here - the first time I came with a friend and tried a poppyseed Hamantaschen. The pastries and coffee shop here aren't high end, but the coffee is good and the store is so big - it's definitely more industrial feeling than the more hipster coffee joints you see popping up! The staff is fast and friendly and there is an area you can sit with dogs separate from the main area. I got their cafe con panna this time. They have a large menu that features all kinds of coffee drinks, from classic to sugary and seasonal. They have a decent sized food, menu and offer hot breakfast and lunch options, as well as a large pastry case. My biggest ding and disappointment for this café, though, is that the pastries are tasty looking, but not at all tasty tasting. They are dry and pretty flavorless. I've seen the bumper stickers and finally made it to this local favorite as I was in the area. Semi busy on a Friday morning around 9. A good amount of indoor and outdoor seating with a mix of high top and regular tables. Wanted to try something different so ordered a Cafe Cubano. Just the right amount of sweet with bold Espresso. I frequent Zekes all the time. I go to chill and work when the four walls of my office start to close in on me. I usually am able to grab a parking spot right in front of the door. I do the pay to park but it's only .50 an hour which is reasonable. The coffee is strong and good. I recently got a breakfast sandwich that was so good, I destroyed it before it even got to cool down. I like the option for quiet in the back room if needed. Visiting Zeke's, for a book club hangout, I was impressed with the menu offering so much more than the familiar coffee chain establishments-breakfast, lunch, bakery food options pairing with ample coffee, tea specials (& a super long unique list of flavor additions). I ordered a large decaf w.toasted marshmallow & lavender syrup w.a splash of fat free milk- while I was very excited to relax & enjoy my coffee- I was admittedly disappointed. My coffee, while intended to be a hot brew, was luke warm when I got it- I had to ask them to heat it (to which they used the microwave)-they also skimped on the milk, leaving the brew less creamy than I envisioned. The prices were reasonable, I would try ordering again- maybe opting into food- though seeing some plates of fellow book clubers some of the food seemed less 'homemade' and more 'heating frozen meals' like the hasbrowns- just have to give it another try to fully decide- The ambiance though was very nice- a fun place to spend the morning within the ample table space, bright open windows, and low-key vibe. read more

So glad and thankful to be living nearby this gem of a place. The fiancé frequents here and has his "usual" for the most part (Lox bagel or Prime Rib bagel). When our son and I are back in town from CA, we get Zeke's almost everyday - yes, it does get a bit pricey after a while. Their coffee is often delicious. Sometimes the vanilla latte can be bland, the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Their white mocha never fails, though. Atmosphere is great. Fast and pleasant service. Not all places in Maryland know how to make a good biscuit, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I got a black drip coffee which was good, but not extraordinary. The cashier was very friendly and upbeat. I liked the mocha latte that I had on my first visit. It was well-brewed and nice and foamy. Plus, the barista has skills and didn't mind tweaking the drink to my preferences. I also purchased and really enjoyed the zero calorie, fruit- flavored, non-alcoholic spritzer drinks. They're really good and refreshing! In my hot vanilla latte, I requested the sugar free vanilla and a pinch of mocha. The barista even had me watch him and asked me to say "when" to let him know how much mocha to use. That's a new one! I really appreciated his desire to be precise and to make the latte I wanted! Probably will return even though from my home location, it's on the other side of town because I found ZEKE'S to be a good coffee shop.
