This is the newest (well not so new anymore but to me) at R House taking over the Doppio Pasticceria stall. The staff is super friendly, they've recently expanded to dinner service. They do offer breakfast sandwiches all day which is great. Kitsch is a Hopkins staple with a location on campus for students at well. I like that they're at R House because their other location - parking was a challenge and it's more of a pickup spot. Coffee is really good here and they offer lots of fun latte options but I'm a purist - I love their produce - it's always super fresh. Their breakfast sandwiches come standard on brioche but you can choose. I love their hash brown's it's that McDonalds style really crispy and thin. I like their BYO - build your own as I like lots of veggies with mine but it can get pricey with all the ad ons. It's loud as it's part of the food hall in R House but lots of sitting options and I think actually R House is a good spot to work.

The drinks are cool and so are the employees. My SMORES frappe was made carefully and skillfully. Kitsch is the first booth on your right when you walk into the R house. There are fun pictures and trinkets on the walls. The menu can be scanned or you can have a look over the printed menu. in the mood for a meal with your coffee? there's that too. I noticed people coming in to pick up orders They placed on line. make sure you visit before they close. They are not open for the entire day but close early afternoon.

Breaky hashbrown box with scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, bacon and avocado with mayo

I was SO excited when I heard that Kitsch was taking over the breakfast stall in R. House. Since Ground and Griddled, it seems like the breakfast stall has seen many iterations that couldn't seem to fill the need for topnotch coffee and delicious breakfast items. Kitsch, however, seems to be hitting the right spot. I ordered the breakfast at Tiffany's latte with oat milk which is my FAVORITE specialty coffee of Kitch's and potentially one of my favorite specialty coffees of all time anywhere. I also got the "breaky" which comes with an egg any style, choice of cheese, option to add meat, choice of veggies, sauces and choice of bread or hash brown. I am gluten free and although they have GF bread here, I'm not a huge fan of it so I opted for the hash brown box instead. The hash brown is your typical patty style like you'd find at McDonald's - my favorite. It was cooked to a perfect crisp. Then I got a scrambled egg over it with bacon, melted cheddar cheese, avocado, and mayo. I know it might sound like a pile of mush but it was actually SO good and the egg and avocado were both seasoned perfectly. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely return to Kitsch for future breakfast and coffee orders. I'm excited to see the breakfast stall getting a much needed refresh with a local business I am already such a fan of.

Incredible. Everything is so fresh and the flavors are 10/10. Highly recommend the rosemary fries.

Arancini Palermo - Extremely disappointing. It was slightly burnt, and despite being described as containing a beef and pork ragu, I couldn't see or taste any meat. I initially thought we'd been served the Formaggi and even asked the server, who confirmed it was the Palermo after checking with the kitchen. The meat was supposedly very finely minced, but it was undetectable. Overall, the flavor was off. Service: They were nice, but slow and inefficient. When we asked for the check, we waited for about 10 minutes and no one had come. I ended up going to the counter to pay. After I had paid and returned to the table, my wife told me the server was walking around with a check, likely had forgot which table had asked for it. Ambiance: This was the best part. We sat outside, beautiful day. If you want to come to sit down outside on a nice day and have a drink, it would probably be enjoyable.

They also have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating which is super nice! To drink, I got the Brown Sugar Hojicha Latte, which was perfectly sweet and strong! Loved it. We ordered pretty much every pastry, but my favorites were the Guava and Cheese Pain Suisse, Elote Cornbread, Crème Brûlée Tart, and Monkey Bread. I also tried the egg sandwich, which I enjoyed. Good news- many many crab dip bagels to be found. And of course it is still delicious. Bad news- that was about it for the lunch options cos that 11am sandwich offering stuff is almost sold out. There was only a couple ham croissants, a couple hot dog rolls and one veggie sandwich left. Mind you they stay open till 3pm. Once again the disappointment I always feel with this enterprise - I wish they would make more of each option on their bake schedule. They know they are popular and they always sell out of food. I can't eat bacon or ham - so really my only option on this day was the CDB (the veg sandwich got bought while I was behind the person who got it) I wanna support Cafe Dear Leon but man I wish they would look out for their customers more and make more of the things.

There are two kiosks where you order. I got the french toast matcha latte which was ready quickly. The matcha wasn't the best quality or wasn't prepared properly, imo. It tasted very soapy and the french toast flavor wasn't very noticeable. I've definitely had much better matcha in Baltimore and wouldn't recommend Llamas' if you're particular about your matcha. Maybe their coffee is better? I also noticed a section on the menu labeled "gluten free" but the only option listed was a bag of chips. Would be nice to see some other offerings for GF folks.

Bird in…read moreHand is a really cute cafe, bookstore, which I plan to return to try the coffee and pastries I stopped for their Community Dinner event called Eat with Me. It was a community dinner party with Chef Char. You had a choice of a ticket with or without wine pairing. Me and my friend chose the ticket with wine pairing. The ticket included two glasses of wine. The menu was not printed online so we went in kinda blind on what was served. The first course was a roasted vegetable dish which consisted of broccoli, fingerling potatoes and pears with a Greek yogurt sauce. The second course was chicken thighs with risotto in a tomato sauce and the third course was a granola strudel with pears. There was also an arugula salad with grapefruit segments and parmesan cheese. I can be brutally honest, none of the courses were seasoned well. The first course was cold, the vegetables were wilted and did not mesh well. Was not expecting pears to be with my roasted vegetables. The second course was underwhelming as well. The food did not have any flavor and the dessert was not my favorite at all. I only ate the fruit out of the dessert. The chef did come out and let us know what each course was, however I felt that she really wasn't too personable with the guests. A few of the guests at the table were her friends so she only engaged with them, and of course they hyped her up, however the food was bland and underwhelming and the majority of the guests including myself did not finish their plates. If there is another community dinner, I hope it will be with a different chef in mind As I stated before my review is of the event, not the business as a whole.
