    The Berkeley

I love Kitsch's sandwiches. They are especially known for their gochujang mayo. I've had a phase of also requesting more than one sauce to go just for me to eat with other foods back home. My go to sandwiches have tend to be the Berkeley sandwich or any one of the egg sandwiches. Any drinks here are quite good too. It hits the spot if you're craving a nice sandwich especially to share with a friend. I've always liked how they would write your name in the brown paper bags they wrap your sandwiches in. It's been a fun, enjoyable reminder for me to say this food is something I get to eat thank you Jesus! Service is personable and kind even when it gets busy. Despite it being a smaller cafe from the main spot in R house, this place is a charming place for lunch! Seating is quite limited, so I'd suggest taking the food to go to eat outside on a spring day!

    Remake sandwich, sauce?

I ordered a breakfast sandwich yesterday morning and a BYO turkey sandwich to eat after finishing a 12-hour shift. When I got home later that night, I realized the turkey was missing from my sandwich. I've worked in restaurants for 10 years, so I understand mistakes happen. I went back kindly and simply asked if they could fix it because I was exhausted, in the middle of moving, and genuinely just needed food. They were understanding and remade it at no charge, which I truly appreciated and was prepared to leave a 5-star review because of that. Unfortunately, when I got home again that next morning, there appeared to be no sauce on the sandwich this time. We drove back once more, and I calmly asked for a side of sauce so I could finally eat. I was not complaining or asking for anything extra -- just the sauce. The cook immediately became argumentative and defensive, which was surprising and disappointing given that I had been nothing but polite and understanding throughout the entire situation. I fully understand that the restaurant industry is stressful, I've been in it for a decade, but being treated with hostility when simply trying to resolve an issue respectfully is unacceptable and unprofessional. I truly just wanted my food so I could eat and continue my day.

Kitsch is a coffee shop in R House. I was working at R House for a couple of days. I saw a reasonably priced steak breakfast sandwich and ordered it and I was glad I did. The bread was soft and the steak was like a cross between brisket and corn beef. But they are a coffee shop and the matcha is wonderful. The staff is very nice and remembered me when I came back the next day. I loved that.

i have been to a few kitsch locations, and they are consistently good. the staff is always nice and service quick. this location has a small seating area, but is mostly takeout it seems. i always get the BLT with pickles on sourdough and i'll switch up the sauce frequently. my favorite thing about kitsch is their wide variety of sauces to choose from (and also that you can order a giant pickle). their lemonade is my favorite around and their captain crunch rice krispies are really tasty and lightly sweet. this is my go-to spot for a BLT and my partner loves their breakfast sandwiches.

A top contender for best sandwiches in Baltimore!! Small cafe/restaurant located just 3 min away from Johns Hopkins north exit. The sandwiches were unique and delicious and the apple cider and black coffee were as well. Seating and parking is very limited, so the place is ideal for grab and go/quick chat. Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu

Great music, even better people, and the food is amazing. Highly recommend! I ended up getting a bunch of stuff but didn't take pictures of eveything. The tahini drink was great! The dirby sandwich was wow. The egg on brioche is simple but classic. Would definitely come back when in the area.

Quick and easy, plenty of choices and do they hit!!! Dirty chai on point and the bacon and sausage breakfast sandwich is out of this world!

Located inside a residential building, the Carlyle, and across from Hopkins Homewood campus is thud cute little sandwich shop. Great for a quick grab-and-go or a quick sit down Service & Ambience: The shop itself isn't the biggest, so it may get crowded if it gets busy. I would recommend ordering ahead online for quicker pickup. There are a few tables inside, but you can also opt for outside seating. Super friendly staff Price: $-$$. I can't complain about a variety of less than $10 sandwiches that are loaded with ingredients. Coffee is also priced reasonably from $2-$6. Food: I chose the "Rachel" during this visit, which was absolutely delicious. Their homemade coleslaw was definitely the highlight. The egg was perfectly runny and made a great combo with the turkey and coleslaw. Overall, I'd recommended stopping in for a quick bite or coffee!

Chicken salad sandwich on GF bread with pepper jack cheese and spring mix

Kitsch Cafe has been on my list for a while now. It's in a fairly convenient location near JHU and Wyman Park. I ordered some breakfast online and it was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. I got the chicken salad sandwich with pepperjack cheese and sprouts on gluten free bread. I also got a side hashbrown, a golden milk and mango smoothie, and the breakfast at Tiffany's latte. THE GOOD: Everything was ready on time and the staff was friendly. The chicken salad had a great flavor and was hearty. The smoothie was very refreshing and had a nice blend of flavors. The breakfast at Tiffany's latte was AMAZING. Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. Somehow the maple syrup and cinnamon really took this latte to a whole new level for me. I'm still thinking about it! THE NOT SO GOOD: Okay, I know gluten free bread is a hit or miss sometimes. Some places have gotten really good at finding GF bread that still retains its texture and shape (looking at you, Artifact coffee). But this bread... did not. It was immediately falling apart as soon as I unwrapped the sandwich. The pepper jack cheese was unmelted and instead of sprouts, it was a spring mix. I went ahead and toasted the bread and cheese to get it crispy and melty and it was a lot better. The hash brown was oily and flimsy like it had been microwaved so I popped that in my air fryer too. It's a shame the GF bread isn't the best since all the sandwiches look SO good. But nevertheless, I'm definitely returning to Kitsch for the lattes at the very least.

The Kitschwich! Added tomato and Dijonnaise sauce, among many food/sauce add-ons. Note: the Heckled Hash brown with Old Bay--simply delish!

It's easy to whiz by this nondescript cafe enfolded in The Carlyle on University Blvd.--but a lot is going on at this mostly pickup breakfast place. Opened during the pandemic, Kitsch seems to cater to the locals quite well. Although I prefer a smaller, tighter brioche or English-style muffin, there are plenty of sandwich choices including oatmeal, etc. I had the Kitschwich and added tomato and a Dijonnaise sauce, among many food and sauce add-ons. Also had the Heckled Hash brown with Old Bay--it was delish! Along with self-serve chairs to "chill" outside on nice days, there is very limited seating in the foyer. Nevertheless, word is they are expanding!

I used my first #womenrunbaltimore Yelp check-in at Kitsch for a free coffee with the purchase of a sandwich. I opted for their BYO breaky and got a fried egg, sausage and American cheese on brioche with dijonnaise sauce. It doesn't look the most appealing but it tasted quite good like most regular egg, sausage and cheese sandwiches. It was nice to have the added dijonnaise to give it some flavor though. It's a very small cafe for ordering and go with super friendly staff. Glad I could check this little cafe out!

This place was on my try-list for a long time and I'm so glad I came! I came here after I finished an exam following a stressful start to my week. The place immediately made my day! Bryan took my order at the register, and he had the most welcoming warm and positive energy. The place itself is small, but it is so cozy and charming. I ordered a BYOBreaky with sourdough, a runny egg, bacon, and veggies - it was absolutely delicious. I also got a Split and Griddled muffin at Bryan's suggestion and loved it. My "You're my Best Friend" drink was also great and the perfect temperature. I look forward to coming again soon!

The Monte Cristo $9.50. What a rip off.

What a scam. $9.50 for the Monte Cristo and it's the smallest slice of turkey, one small egg, and a bunch of jalapeños. It took 15 minutes to make.

It was a community dinner party with Chef Char. You had a choice of a ticket with or without wine pairing. Me and my friend chose the ticket with wine pairing. The ticket included two glasses of wine. The menu was not printed online so we went in kinda blind on what was served. The first course was a roasted vegetable dish which consisted of broccoli, fingerling potatoes and pears with a Greek yogurt sauce. The second course was chicken thighs with risotto in a tomato sauce and the third course was a granola strudel with pears. There was also an arugula salad with grapefruit segments and parmesan cheese. I can be brutally honest, none of the courses were seasoned well. The first course was cold, the vegetables were wilted and did not mesh well. Was not expecting pears to be with my roasted vegetables. The second course was underwhelming as well. The food did not have any flavor and the dessert was not my favorite at all. I only ate the fruit out of the dessert. The chef did come out and let us know what each course was, however I felt that she really wasn't too personable with the guests. A few of the guests at the table were her friends so she only engaged with them, and of course they hyped her up, however the food was bland and underwhelming and the majority of the guests including myself did not finish their plates. If there is another community dinner, I hope it will be with a different chef in mind As I stated before my review is of the event, not the business as a whole.
