    Iced Caramel Oatmilk Latte
    Kendall B.

I was so excited to try this new trendy coffee shop by Cafe Dear Leon! The space is large with lots of plants, seating, and great ambiance. However, I did go on a Friday so it was VERY busy, it was hard to even grab a seat. I ordered the crab dip bagel and an iced oatmilk latte, and my friend got a hot matcha, an almond croissant, and a smores cookie. My crab bagel was pretty good, I had been dying to try it since it's so viral online. It was a bit lukewarm when I ate it though, and I did get a small piece of crab shell in one bite. The latte was insanely good and the espresso was not bitter at all. In terms of service, you wait in line to pick your food and then order your drink at the register. They give you your pastries right away, and then you have to go around to the espresso bar to wait for your drink. Service was very friendly but a bit slow. I was also shocked at how expensive everything was (over $20 for the crab bagel and latte). This is a great spot if you have a little extra money, want an extravagant pastry/coffee, and need a cute place to sit and do computer work.

Every pastry and drink we tried was delicious! Our favorites were the crab dip bagel and the chorizo torta sandwich. The morning kouign and monkey bread were also delicious! The line gets long on weekends but moves quickly. There is seating inside that gets filled up but turns over quickly and the staff are attentive and efficient!

The absolute best bakery in Baltimore. Come and park on the side of the building. Ordered two pastries (blueberry muffin is the best I've tasted/ almond croissant), breakfast sandwich and the crab bagel. The TikTok famous Fresh MD Lump-Crab Meat, Stuffed Bagel, topped off with more Crab Meat, Old Bay®, cream cheese, corn & Cheddar Cheese is everything you think it is. Don't skip on the drinks. Download a podcast or bring your laptop and enjoy.

Went on a Sunday morning at 10:30am. There was a line inside but moved quickly. It was packed inside so little seating however we were taking our food to go. The service was informative and not rushed when we had questions. We ordered the crab dip bagel, the yuzu brioche pastry and a flat white and classic latte with the maple cardamom syrup. All were good in flavor and taste. Would def go back to try some other items on the menu.

We got the Sza crab dip bagel, creme brulee tart, and smores cookie. Most of the stuff they had was already sold out. The crab dip bagel was delicious very flavorful and fresh. It was also a very longggg line.

So this is awkward. This never happens to me. I'm at a loss for words. There is no description of this bakery that will describe how magical and incredible the food is. This is perhaps a bakery that one can only dream about. The second you walk in, you are transported to a hipster Paris perhaps? The flavor combinations are one of a kind. When I had no idea what to order, the server at the front led me in the right direction. ...but apparently not well enough because I went back twice to order more. Usually I can pick out some stand out pastries, but this time I really can't. Every bite of something I was like Phil Rosenthal dancing and making eyes of amazement. My husband was laughing at my reactions. Some of the jaw droppers I had the pleasure of tasting were the pistachio raspberry danish, crab sando, blueberry muffin, s'mores cookie, smoked salmon sando, and black sesame salted caramel latte. Last thought, there were not many kids there. Mine were the only ones there when I went, but I have bougie kids. They treated my kids with the upmost respect and excitement. They had them order like adults, asked them their favorites, and catered to them like they were the ones in charge. My little dessert connoisseurs were delighted.

The best bakery in the country may be Cafe Dear Leon. Their original location is small and always with a well-deserved line. This location is their second and very large. (It's inside the building of a popular butchery/deli that shut its doors.) Walk inside Tuesday-Saturday early because their pastries sell out quickly. Every single option is a good one, but I love their chocolate croissants and kouign and hazelnut focaccia. They also have a full coffee menu of drinks with Ceremony Coffee. Inside is a large space with lots of tables and free wi-fi.

Fairly new (Opened Oct 2025), spacious, instagrammy, and inviting cafe/bakery created by the owners of Café Dear Leon! So happy they developed this location with a more expansive menu, ample seating, and the same delicious food and drinks. Went on a Sunday morning- be prepared to wait in line. Waited about 15-20 minutes but it was worth the wait! Tried a bit of everything from their menu like their famous Crab Dip Bagel, my favorite Crème Brûlée Tart, decadent Koginut Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake slice, Smoked Salmon Sandwich on Everything Focaccia, and washed it down with a Black Sesame Caramel Latte. Perfect sized pastries for sharing or eating throughout the week. The sandwich was phenomenal. My first time trying smoked salmon and the textures, flavors, and everything was perfect. Maybe just a tad bit salty that's all. The latte was good, but I expected more of a Black Sesame taste- I got mostly caramel though it's tasty. I wasn't impressed with the Crab Dip Bagel, but the the Crème Brûlée tart is perfect as always (sold at Café Dear Leon also). The basque cheesecake is rich and amazing-doesn't even require the pumpkin sauce on the side. Overall, I'd come again to try more of their items on their rotating monthly/seasonal menu. Be prepared for a wait or come early! Definitely worth the money and the calories.

I am excited to write a review for a cafe I have been wanting to visit for a long time! I have heard great things about this new establishment by Cafe Dear Leon, and the reviews do not lie. Upon entering the cafe, I am welcomed into a warm, inviting ambience. The space is well organized to cater to quick to-go orders or for folks to gather around a table for a meal or sit to do work remotely. There are plenty of seating options as well as outlets for remote work. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I was pulled with interest to try the crème brûlée *chef's kiss* delicious, light, and delightful in every bite! I was delighted to order a vegetarian sandwich available in the 7:30 AM menu. It was DELICIOUS. I do hope Cafe Dear Leon/La Maison continues to maintain vegetarian items on their menu. The restrooms are clean and organized, and ADA accessible/compliant. Parking is relatively easy with street parking right out front of the property. I would say the music was a bit loud, such that it would overwhelm a conversation between two people. I look forward to returning to this cafe. I would really like to see Cafe Dear Leon experiment and provide vegan desserts, since all their items mostly contain allergens like dairy, milk, and egg. Additionally, I would really like to see La Maison host a community-based event like a poetry afternoon or crafting, since there is space with all the tables available.

It is possible that La Maison is even better than Cafe Dear Leon. The food and coffee are superb at both. But. La Maison is huge. There are many tables of different sizes, many of which are near outlets, and it is a very pleasant spot to sit for an hour or two and get some work done or just read or people watch. Also, because of its size, you can wait on line inside of the restaurant instead of freezing or baking on the street. The pastries are extremely well executed and the ones that are the best tend to be things I've never heard of and can't pronounce. They currently have a laminated pastry filled with black sesame paste that is the perfect combination of sweet and savory and flaky. I also tried a vegetarian focaccia sandwich that was creamy and herbaceous and just generally delightful, but I have no idea what was on it. Truly, nothing here is bad and most things are next level good. Make the trip, you will love it.

I had been hearing how great La Maison was, and after a visit I wish I had gone right away. The space itself is cute, clean, and warm - but I'll be honest the day I was there the seating could have doubled and still been full! The line out the door didn't scare us off, but we did have to wait a bit to get access to a table. Looking at all the items I couldn't believe how pretty everything was. So I settled on one croissant and a hot tea. Now the ham and cheese croissant, WOW! It was fantastic!! The staff were just a lovely as the baked goods - I can't wait to go back again soon!

My partner brought me here for breakfast, they have a beautiful arrangement of pastries and sandwiches, their drink menu doesn't disappoint either! I loved the crème brûlée tart, recently I went in and got the raspberry pistachio mozzitart(?) and the strawberry and lavender danish. both were delicious! the danish has strawberry filling inside which pleasantly surprised me. Service is always quick and attentive with or without a line, ambiance is beautiful as well. Plenty of people come in to sit to do work/chit chat with friends/family, I love this cafe and will always make the drive out here!!!

I'd been wanting to try the Cafe Dear Leon crab dip bagel for over a year now and it did not disappoint! I was worried about the line/wait time but at least on the Saturday we went (around 9 AM) we were 3rd in line and there were plenty of food and seats available. The inside is super cute and good for a date, working, hanging with friends, etc. I got the sweet potato hojicha latte and it was pretty good (I think I would've preferred my regular vanilla latte, though). Will definitely be back! I've been told the crab dip bagel freezes well, too, which is dangerous information (for my waistline and my wallet...).

It's within the Johns Hopkins college campus & a neighborhood, so parking is really horrible. I ended up parking in a non spot and putting my hazards on. It's a cute little, but spacious place located next to an airport building. It's on the corner and has a nice little outside seating area with about 5 tables. Inside is bigger than it looks and has a nice amount of seating as well. Since my time was limited, I didn't really get to explore the menu like I wanted, so I ordered a hazelnut latte and a ham & cheese croissant. Their croissants looked so good, I wanted one of each. They also had several toasts on their menu. I'll have to go back for sure! Th service was regular, you order, they tell you how much you owe and you pay. I got in my car and couldn't wait. My first bite was like a bite into heaven. Every bite was the same way, so delicious & delicate. I wish I had two. The latte was perfect, just the right amount of hazelnut. Kanom Cafe is a must try!

Arrived in the afternoon during a busy weekend and decided to take out for desserts. My first visit and was underwhelmed by the service received. Rushed and transactional. Packaging was very sloppy and my napoleons were shoved to the side, making the clear clamshells very messy when I arrived home. If only the desserts were saving grace, but was left disappointed as well. As others have mentioned, the pastries do not taste fresh. The ricotta cream in the original cannoli tasted warm and gritty, the shell was stale. I noticed these were sitting out. The puff pastry in the Napoleons were soggy. The cream puffs shell was stale and chocolate topping was super sweet, unfortunately these were far from heavenly. Maybe another day, Vaccaro.

The vibe inside was relaxing. We were here for a few hours enjoying our coffee, tea and desserts and it was a nice place to pass the time on a cold, freezing day. The thing that dropped the review was basically the coffee and desserts. The coffee was fine, but just your standard coffee that you'd find at any gas station. The cannoli was overly sweet and the cookies we ordered felt stale. Interestingly, they charge more for sit down desserts vs. takeout. The servers were very sweet to share that we could order takeout and not have to pay the extra fee. Finally, not sure why, but there was not a lot of heating inside the restaurant. We ate with our jackets on, which was fine. But found that to be a little odd. Nobody seemed to know why they couldn't get the heat on. When it's below freezing, it would be nice to escape the chill. Overall, it was a nice stop. My kids loved it. But it was not without some quirks.

I asked if it could be sliced like the white bread loaf can but I was informed that the classic sourdough loaf is too large to fit in the slicer. I also love the fact that they offer a pay what you can program and a pay it forward option. And judging by their fundraising for important causes, this is a business I will continue to support.
