Holy cow, the pastries here are INSANE! Soft and delicate, and the sandwiches are suuper filling. Came here with my friend to work on some assignments and ordered a bit more than we could chew. I will say finding solid seating here is tough, and it is packed tight. But it is handicap accessible, and gets some great light. It's right across the street from a wonderful consignment shop and Ottobar, which makes it an ideal place to grab a quick lil bev if there's an outdoor market happening. The hours here are a bit odd, but otherwise I think this is a great spot to get some work done if you don't mind loud, dense environments. I also appreciate the space heaters sprinkled about the seating area to ensure everyone gets some heat in this large hall. While in the area I used my yelp and saw this. My fellow yelpie friends gave it good reviews recently. Its definitely larger then the Fells location with outdoor and indoor seating. Like the other location, pastries and sandwiches are all made on site. The price point is quite insane for a cafe in which I purchased a pre made tuna sandwich, cheesecake and a iced oatmilk lavender latte for a grand total of $27!! It was very busy with college students studying and a few others sitting inside. I was able to grab seating outside under the umbrellas as it was raining. My tuna salad sandwich was tasty but the bread a bit hard as it was sitting stacked up pre made. The cheesecake was okay and my latte needed to be remade as it was quite bitter. All in all, its not a lot to rave about especially with the high price point. I may return but its better options with cheaper price points. read more

I took my mom to La Maison by Café dear Leon for a little bakery date, and unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. For context, I go to Café dear Leon all the time and it's always a 10/10 for me--so I came in with high expectations for the larger location. When we arrived, they were sold out of almost everything, with only two Sandos left, which was disappointing. We ordered two drip coffees, but when we got them, they were extremely bitter and just not enjoyable. I brought them back to exchange, and while they did remake them, I was surprised that I had to pay extra for the replacement drinks. On a positive note, we were eventually able to get croissants, and those were actually really good--fresh, flaky, and definitely the highlight of our visit. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it didn't live up to what I'm used to at the original location. I'll probably stick with Café deat Leon moving forward. read more

I was so excited to try this new trendy coffee shop by Cafe Dear Leon! The space is large with lots of plants, seating, and great ambiance. However, I did go on a Friday so it was VERY busy, it was hard to even grab a seat. I ordered the crab dip bagel and an iced oatmilk latte, and my friend got a hot matcha, an almond croissant, and a smores cookie. My crab bagel was pretty good, I had been dying to try it since it's so viral online. It was a bit lukewarm when I ate it though, and I did get a small piece of crab shell in one bite. The latte was insanely good and the espresso was not bitter at all. In terms of service, you wait in line to pick your food and then order your drink at the register. They give you your pastries right away, and then you have to go around to the espresso bar to wait for your drink. Service was very friendly but a bit slow. I was also shocked at how expensive everything was (over $20 for the crab bagel and latte). So this is awkward. This never happens to me. I'm at a loss for words. There is no description of this bakery that will describe how magical and incredible the food is. This is perhaps a bakery that one can only dream about. The second you walk in, you are transported to a hipster Paris perhaps? The flavor combinations are one of a kind. When I had no idea what to order, the server at the front led me in the right direction. ...but apparently not well enough because I went back twice to order more. Usually I can pick out some stand out pastries, but this time I really can't. Every bite of something I was like Phil Rosenthal dancing and making eyes of amazement. The best bakery in the country may be Cafe Dear Leon. Their original location is small and always with a well-deserved line. This location is their second and very large. (It's inside the building of a popular butchery/deli that shut its doors.) Walk inside Tuesday-Saturday early because their pastries sell out quickly. Every single option is a good one, but I love their chocolate croissants and kouign and hazelnut focaccia. They also have a full coffee menu of drinks with Ceremony Coffee. So happy they developed this location with a more expansive menu, ample seating, and the same delicious food and drinks. Went on a Sunday morning- be prepared to wait in line. Waited about 15-20 minutes but it was worth the wait! Tried a bit of everything from their menu like their famous Crab Dip Bagel, my favorite Crème Brûlée Tart, decadent Koginut Pumpkin Basque Cheesecake slice, Smoked Salmon Sandwich on Everything Focaccia, and washed it down with a Black Sesame Caramel Latte. Perfect sized pastries for sharing or eating throughout the week. The sandwich was phenomenal. My first time trying smoked salmon and the textures, flavors, and everything was perfect. Maybe just a tad bit salty that's all. The latte was good, but I expected more of a Black Sesame taste- I got mostly caramel though it's tasty. I wasn't impressed with the Crab Dip Bagel, but the the Crème Brûlée tart is perfect as always (sold at Café Dear Leon also). I am excited to write a review for a cafe I have been wanting to visit for a long time! I have heard great things about this new establishment by Cafe Dear Leon, and the reviews do not lie. Upon entering the cafe, I am welcomed into a warm, inviting ambience. The space is well organized to cater to quick to-go orders or for folks to gather around a table for a meal or sit to do work remotely. There are plenty of seating options as well as outlets for remote work. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I was pulled with interest to try the crème brûlée *chef's kiss* delicious, light, and delightful in every bite! I was delighted to order a vegetarian sandwich available in the 7:30 AM menu. It was DELICIOUS. I do hope Cafe Dear Leon/La Maison continues to maintain vegetarian items on their menu. The restrooms are clean and organized, and ADA accessible/compliant. Parking is relatively easy with street parking right out front of the property. I would say the music was a bit loud, such that it would overwhelm a conversation between two people. I look forward to returning to this cafe. I would really like to see Cafe Dear Leon experiment and provide vegan desserts, since all their items mostly contain allergens like dairy, milk, and egg. It is possible that La Maison is even better than Cafe Dear Leon. The food and coffee are superb at both. But. La Maison is huge. There are many tables of different sizes, many of which are near outlets, and it is a very pleasant spot to sit for an hour or two and get some work done or just read or people watch. Also, because of its size, you can wait on line inside of the restaurant instead of freezing or baking on the street. The pastries are extremely well executed and the ones that are the best tend to be things I've never heard of and can't pronounce. They currently have a laminated pastry filled with black sesame paste that is the perfect combination of sweet and savory and flaky. I also tried a vegetarian focaccia sandwich that was creamy and herbaceous and just generally delightful, but I have no idea what was on it. I had been hearing how great La Maison was, and after a visit I wish I had gone right away. The space itself is cute, clean, and warm - but I'll be honest the day I was there the seating could have doubled and still been full! My partner brought me here for breakfast, they have a beautiful arrangement of pastries and sandwiches, their drink menu doesn't disappoint either! It truly is amazing how many people love Cafe Dear Leon and it is no exception at this second location. Bigger is a theme here for La Maison, as it is a sitdown experience, which is something that the owners always wanted to have, but with Covid lasting so long and the size of the space never got to actualize in Canton. The coffee service here is amazing. They have a massive new coffee machine and I just learned they have different lattes at La Maison versus Café de Leon in Canton so just FYI. I love their seasonal items and have been a sucker for their chocolate croissants and just their regular Cortado's. I also really like their cookies anyway the vibes here are great and it's still gardeners a long line, especially on their fresh drops, but not nearly as impossible as the canton location is. I got up bright and early to check out La Maison, the new second location by cafe dear leon -- a true community staple! The space is HUGE and so cozy -- such a beautiful addition to the neighborhood and already feeling like the perfect community hangout spot. I did some work here and I know this will be so great for the winter months to get cozy:) There's street parking, plenty of indoor seating, WiFi, and even a separate drink pickup area. The pastry counter is filled with the same beautifully crafted selection you'll find at their original Canton location. I got the baklava latte (hot, with oat milk) and the crab bagel and the chausson (apple turnover), and everything was absolute perfection. I waited for about an hour to get in and it was so worth it! The staff were so sweet and excited about their soft opening, and I'm so glad I got to stop by early to experience this stunning new space. Finally got the opportunity to visit La Maison and it lived up to all of my expectations. The space is significantly larger than the original location so the flow of ordering works a bit differently. You go up to the pasty display and someone will help package up all of your pasties. They'll then tell you to meet them at a numbered register, which is also when you would order your drinks. Drinks are picked up in the seating area. If your pastry or sandwich needs to be heated up, you'd linger near the register area until they call out your name. The space is larger with seating but there's also lots of seating outside just in the area. There is a small parking lot behind the building but there's tons of parking in the neighborhood as well. read more

Cafe Dear Leon is my oldest daughter's favorite pastry and bakery shop. With latest visit to Baltimore, she wanted to treat my wife and I to brunch at La Maison which is owned by the same owners of Cafe Dear Leon. The usual long weekend line was there, but it moved very quick. We went with egg salad in milk bread, crab dip bagel, and smoked salmon in focaccia. All the tables were taken and counter chairs were occupied. So, we sat outside by a fireplace under the glorious weather. The three sandwiches were absolutely delicious. The breads were so fresh and tasty. The proteins were fresh and seasoned well. We also took home various pastries to eat with our afternoon coffee. Prices were more than fair for such high quality foods. All the employees were so cheerful and friendly. We will visit with every trip to Baltimore. read more

I remain a fan of the tamago sandwich and the ham & cheese croissant - which was still warm the last two visits - making it even more heavenly. When I heard that Cafe Dear Leon was opening a location in Remington, I instantly got excited. One, it is closer to my house and I can literally walk there and I do not have to travel all the way to canton to get a crab bagel, winning. I finally got a chance to stop in for a few sweet treats last Saturday. I got there a lil after 12 and there was a line outside, which is to be expected. There will always be a line if you come on the earlier side or later side. However the line moves rather quickly. Since it was after 12pm. a lot of the morning pastries were sold out. So I was able to grab an almond croissant, a chocolate cookie and a Japanese iced coffee. Everything pretty much totaled $15 bucks, which wasn't to bad. Their food is absolutely delicious, and you can tell that everything is made and baked with care. The almond croissant was just heaven. I will make it my justice to return on the earlier side. They open as early as 7:30am, so I would definitely like to be there early to try the sandwiches. Inside is so warm and inviting. The staff is so sweet and willing to help you with any questions that you may have. And the dining area is large enough to sit and work, read or just catch up with friends. This is the larger, faster Cafe Dear León! I have been a fan of CDL for years. So this larger space with seating really appealed to me. I came on a Sunday morning at 10:30am (which would guarantee an hour wait at the other location!) and the line moved quickly. I was in the store after 20 minutes. They still had nearly everything available! I got to try the popular crab dip bagel, smoked salmon on focaccia, baklava latte and financier. Everything was so delicious as I expected. Their food items always taste freshly made, with quality ingredients. The crab dip bagel was soft and creamy! I loved the slight touch of old bay, which was good but not overwhelming. What an awesome cafe in Remington. La Maison opened recently from the same owners as Cafe Dear Leon in Canton which is also amazing. I met my friend for breakfast and we ordered a few items to share. We got the Koginut & Pinto Torta, Crème Brûlée Tart, Tamago Kare Pan, and a Vanilla something that I can't remember that's not listed on their current menu along with their Baklava Latte. Everything we had was so delicious. The savory items were so tasty and the sweet items were not overly sweet. Definitely some unique items here and we just loved it all. But the good news is that the line moves quickly and they definitely have more stock at this location--no running out of crab dip bagels! I've never had a bad meal here! I recently took my brother here to make him try the crab dip bagel, and t was just as good as I remembered. I liked my hot chocolate this time a little less than the wonderful yakiimo flat white I had the time before, but it was still delicious (and made the right way with real chocolate). The creme brulee tart was also delicious, and I loved the filling for the yuzu brioche but thought the dough itself wasn't as tender as it usually is. Finally made it to LA Maison. It closer to my house than Cafe Dear Leon so I was excited. It's a much bigger space, with plenty of indoor seating. The food was the same as CDL and came out on the same schedule. Maison opens a bit later but otherwise they're synced. And the good news is that the food is just as delicious. I tried the smoked salmon foccaacia, vanilla pear tart, cookie trempette danish and an oat almond cookie. All were ridiculously good. The cookie danish is filled with what I think is cookie dough and topped with an espresso cream and caramel. So good. The cookie was actually even better than the chocolate chip that I had before. A welcomed new 2nd edition of cafe dear Leon in Baltimore. This location is much bigger than the canton location. Has actual space to sit and enjoy your drinks and food and get a bit of work done. They do have outdoor space weather permitting. The service here is solid, warm and friendly and fast. The baked goods are as you'd expect from them. Not difference from the original spot; all fresh and delicious. Got a monkey bread and almond croissant which were delicious. Got a Japanese iced coffee and baklava latte which were good as well.
