    Roggenart Bakery Cafe'-

From the curb to the door this quaint bakery cafe is amazing. It is quiet and visited by settled reserved locals and professionals seemingly but not to discourage others that doesnt fit in the category. The moment I entered I felt the relaxed gratitude from the employees as they welcomed me in and waited patiently for me to select my choice of food and drink. I chose the Roggenart Signature Sandwich with a 12oz Latte w/Caramellow and Oatmilk. There is a credit card surcharge of 3%. As its not an obligation, one can add a tip. My breakfast sandwich was made just like the picture on the wall and was very filling; in fact it was too much and I had to remove some of the egg. It was however, tasty. I thought the latte would have been in a ceramic cafe mug but it was placed in a to go cup. The pastery select and appearance is amazing. When I return I WILL be sure to have a picking. Over all tbe vibe and food will have me returning. I was not disappointed.

If you're looking for a cozy spot in Mount Vernon, Roggenart is definitely worth a visit! From the moment I stepped in, it felt like a warm hug, which I defintely needed considering it's 20 degrees today. I ordered the maple apple cider tea, and it instantly reminded me of the apples and cinnamon Quaker oatmeal--I wasn't expecting that but I actually really liked it! I added a little sugar for extra sweetness and a dash of cream. Heads up: it's served very hot, so take your time sipping and don't burn your tongue like me. The vibe inside is modern and chic, with super comfy chairs (the cushy kind that make you want to settle in for a while). Oh, and they have free internet, which is a huge plus. The woman working there has such a warm personality, which was nice to see! If you're in the area, seriously, give them a try. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and a perfect spot to relax or get some work done. Highly recommend!

The tiramisu had a certain herbal spice taste to it that I wasn't a fan of, it didn't take like tiramisu to me. Also, I the raspberry cheesecake I got was either old or really over baked because the texture was hard to chew and not cheesecake-like at all. The prices were also expensive.

This is a new bakery/cafe/coffee shop in Mt. Vernon, located across from the CVS. I first ran past this shop a few months back and finally got to come back recently to check it out. You can find free street parking on the same street or streets nearby and walk over. There is also a paid parking lot nearby, though this is uncovered. There is a lot of indoor seating room, definitely this could be a cafe to study at as they play soft, calm music. It's decorated in a modern style that this very nice. I do think this place is a bit pricy for what they offer; the bakery are comparatively small and priced higher than I think is proportionate. I learned on my second visit that they have a "we made too much" sale w/ 2 baked goods grouped together for 50% off; so I think this is the way to go if you're looking for lower pricing. Iced pumpkin pie latte 2.5/5, this tastes much more coffee heavy than pumpkin spice / pumpkin pie flavored, this was just okay, I would not order this again. Iced chai latte 5/5, okay I was incredibly surprised. I was going to write off Roggenart as a 2 visit cafe that just didn't click for me; but this latte changed my mind. I will be back for this and this alone, I do think this is one of the best chai lattes I have had in Baltimore. Lemon Danish 2/5, I got 2 of these for 50% off in the "we made too much" baked goods sale. The lemon part is both tart and sweet simultaneously; but I think the white frosted drizzle is way too sweet to pair w/ the lemon + overall my bigger issue was not clicking with the breaded pastry portion. I think if they made it less dough-y it would be better or perhaps changed their dough recipe?

My bestie and I paid a visit to Roggenart after our morning workout. She is a regular. I am not. The space is clean and there is a good amount of seating. I ordered the Mushroom Wellington which had a good flavor. It was flaky, but didn't fall apart everywhere and make a mess. I also ordered an Iced Coffee which I would for sure come back to order.

Solid bakery in Baltimore! I really enjoyed all these pastries that I tried and the breakfast sandwich with w egg and cheese! I also got a coffee that was pretty good. I tried to do work here but they didn't have the most outlets wish they had more! Overall, I really liked the vibes here and look forward to coming back!

I know of this cafe from another location. This one is nice. The space is bigger than you expect from the sidewalk view. The service is good. The food is delicious. The drip coffee is better than most. There is something about a cafe that has books lying around that I find very appealing.

Have been eyeing this spot since it's been under construction and it just opened up last week. It gives cute coffee shop vibes. It was a little crowded probably because it was morning weekend and it just recently opened up. Nonetheless the line moved pretty quick, such friendly service and my coffee came out quick. You can never mess up a classic iced caramel latte. I tried the crookie because it's been viral recently. It was a bit too sweet for me but cool to try. Would like to try their sandwiches and other pastries. They also had a shelf behind the cashier where some of the pastries were 50% off!

I've been meaning to try this spot for the longest time. And I'm so happy I did. The cafe is so cute and quaint. On the smaller side but not super tight or anything. They bake all their pastries and even sell the leftovers at a highly discounted price. If those don't sell they give it to shelters! It's such a nice principle. The service was cool, I placed an order for pickup before getting some of their discounted pastries, but the employee interacted with was very helpful when it came to explaining how the leftover pastries work. The food was so so delicious. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich especially was so buttery and tasty. The Frosted Schnecke was definitely different. It was like a cinnamon roll croissant, eating it a little warm is even better. The lemon tart was okay, just a bit too lemony for me (and I LOVE lemon desserts). Nonetheless it was still good. This spot is super close to me, so I'll most likely return!

Pastries are delicious, especially the croissants, Boston creme danish and crookie as well as lattes. The decor is cool, the back of the cafe has a cool relaxing work area. Service, organization and management leaves something to be desired. When ordering online, they almost never have what's requested. Considering that upon ordering, you pay your money immediately, those items should be available. This requires simply updating inventory. I understand things happen every once in awhile but this is a common occurrence and one my friends has experienced the same type of subpar service as well. If a mistake is made, apologize, after all it isn't my fault, I paid for an item, that you advertised. Why would you automatically replace it with an item, that you don't know if I want or am allergic to? I don't order for a surprise bags of pastries, I specifically chose what I like. Why not reach out to the customer directly to apologize and resolve ? Why expect me to take whatever replacement you have as if it's free? Is that where are in hospitality? Do businesses realistically expect us to pay for an item, not get it and just accept whatever you decide I should eat? Unacceptable. Update your inventory and keep your milks and other items you advertise stocked. That's the responsible thing to do as a business. Be accountable. Once those issues are cleared, they will be a force to contend with.

maybe it's me....but I get a air of disrespect once I walked in.....as if to say "why are you here,Duncan Donuts is down the street." I also noticed that every person who ate there was served......except the 3 black customers....of which I was one. we were called up to get our items. AGAIN, maybe i was being OVERLY OBSERVANT...OVERLY SENSITIVE IN TODAYS CLIMATE......then again maybe not. To be honest I really wont return as I would rather make my own coffee at home without feeling like I don't belong.

I cannot believe that I forgot to submit a review. Definitely a favorite. First the service is excellent. Unlike its industrial counterpart, this is a place that invites one to sit and cogitate. Love all the books arrayed and there is even a sitting room. The pastries are made fresh daily. My favorite is the Wellington croissant. Absurdly good. Have yet to try their coffee because the hot chocolate is so good! It reminds me of my Mom. THIS is a cafe worth your reconnaissance.

They previously had a branch on Falls Road, where I remember loving the mushroom quiche. This new location is spacious and nicely arranged, with a steady flow of customers in the morning. We tried a few items: the butter croissant was good, the raspberry muffin tasted pre-packaged, and the mushroom Wellington was just okay. The coffee and tea were just average, and the service was standard. Overall, we might come back for the croissant and maybe pick up something else - but it's a big MAYBE.

Over 30 min for a black coffee! 40 min for a near-cold omelet. Recommend sticking with the good pastries out of the case only.

Arrived in the afternoon during a busy weekend and decided to take out for desserts. My first visit and was underwhelmed by the service received. Rushed and transactional. Packaging was very sloppy and my napoleons were shoved to the side, making the clear clamshells very messy when I arrived home. If only the desserts were saving grace, but was left disappointed as well. As others have mentioned, the pastries do not taste fresh. The ricotta cream in the original cannoli tasted warm and gritty, the shell was stale. I noticed these were sitting out. The puff pastry in the Napoleons were soggy. The vibe inside was relaxing. We were here for a few hours enjoying our coffee, tea and desserts and it was a nice place to pass the time on a cold, freezing day. The thing that dropped the review was basically the coffee and desserts. The coffee was fine, but just your standard coffee that you'd find at any gas station. The cannoli was overly sweet and the cookies we ordered felt stale. Interestingly, they charge more for sit down desserts vs. takeout. The servers were very sweet to share that we could order takeout and not have to pay the extra fee. Finally, not sure why, but there was not a lot of heating inside the restaurant. We ate with our jackets on, which was fine. But found that to be a little odd. Nobody seemed to know why they couldn't get the heat on. When it's below freezing, it would be nice to escape the chill. Overall, it was a nice stop. My kids loved it. But it was not without some quirks.
