I've never met a coffee shop I didn't like and Good Neighbor was no different!!! Offering coffee, food, and unique and healthy food finds, there's truly something for everyone. My latte was smooth and had the perfect balance of milk, vanilla and sweetness flavor. The shop is very aesthetically pleasing and the food smelled absolutely divine. I can't wait to try something from the menu soon. Parking can be tricky, but I was able to get a spot in a 10 minute loading zone right down the street. I also noticed they have two fifteen-minute spots you can pull into right next to the shop. The outdoor seating looked so cute and would be perfect for a nice, warm sunny day. Service was good and my coffee only took a couple minutes to make. It was an expensive latte but it was delicious and worth every sip! Can't wait to become a regular here. read more

Excellent coffee and excellent food, you can truly taste the quality in both. The atmosphere is beautiful, with plenty of space to sit, work, or catch up with a friend. The outdoor garden patio is especially charming and a lovely spot to relax. Wouldn't recommend the matcha however it was very mild and tasted like mostly milk. I stayed in the guesthouse for the weekend and visited the café several times during my stay. Unfortunately, I didn't feel particularly welcomed during any of my visits. Each time, a different cashier seemed disengaged and didn't offer a greeting, only just a blank stare until I placed my order. It stood out even more as I watched how warmly they interacted with regulars. Otherwise still a great place to visit. Hopefully my next visit will feel more warm. read more

I've not actually ever been outside Good Neighbor. All my visits have been in the lovely tiered garden to the side of the venue. Also I've always been at some pre-paid event, so I'm not sure if Good Neighbor has provided the food offerings I've ingested. I do think the garden is lovely and it's even nicer when it's a little chilly and the little fireplaces are going. Definitely will do other events here. read more

Oh wow, good neighbor was like a warm hug on this cold, rainy December day! I cannot believe I have never been here before. The greenery and the decor was so comforting. It was definitely busy on a Tuesday afternoon but we snagged a corner bench by the window and thanked the coffeeshop gods!!! I loved the Asian and Desi inspired flavors. They have plenty of drink options. My friend got a chai latte while I got their Strawberry Fields Matcha. The Matcha was incredible and delicious; my friend was happy with their chai. We'd come again for the vibes and drinks, but not the food. The food took a long time to come. We were both disappointed with the food- I got the Chili Paneer sandwich which honestly tasted like cheesy burrata garlic bread. Paneer shouldn't be like burrata! I tasted no spices and it was very bland- the "green chutney" wasn't chutney at all and it was not good or flavorful. I really expected an Indian twist, which it wasn't. My friend didn't like the beet salad since it was all just raw veggies with no texture, cooked veggies, or flavor added. omg HOW have I never been here before?? Good Neighbor is located in Hampden with free street parking nearby that can be hit or miss, especially on weekends, so be prepared to walk over a couple of blocks. GN has indoor and outdoor seating and is a gorgeously decorated coffee shop / cafe / eatery. They sell books, records, cookware, and other miscellaneous trinkets in their shop as well. They have two restrooms which are stocked with free pads and tampons which I think is so kind of the business to offer! For alternative milks; they only have coconut and oat. I have to note that they have excellent customer service. I came in on around lunchtime on a Tuesday with a friend and they were already moderately popular. They answered some questions I had about their food and when they accidentally got my drink order wrong, they spotted the error before me and not only made me the drink I ordered, but also offered me the incorrect drink to keep as well. Hojicha latte with whole milk (iced) 4/5, ok so the issue here is while this was a good nicely roasted tasting hojicha, I had never tried hojicha iced before so while I do definitely recommend this, I say order this hot Iced Latte 3/5, I did not order this but it was given to me to keep as it was accidentally made. I'm not a coffee drinker but this tasted like an average iced coffee to me, if that's your thing, you can't go wrong with this Matcha latte with whole milk (iced) 4.5/5, I got this unsweetened as I wanted to try how bitter their matcha would be but this was a very pleasant surprise! I quite enjoyed this drink and the ratio of matcha:milk present Espresso Soda 3/5, my friend got this and noted that she didn't like the citrus lavender flavoring from soda and would have preferred a different blend with the espresso Spicy Salmon Onigiri 5/5, this onigiri came PACKED w/ fish and the spicy mayo was beautiful done Chili Paneer 5/5, what a sandwich! It's a semi-regular study spot for me! The decor is very chic and has a home-y vibe. Modern and inviting. Their coffee is AMAZING. Genuinely some of the best I've had in the city. I'm not a coffee purist, so I usually order lattes or specialty drinks. Their seasonal drinks are also cool; in the summer they often have refreshing matcha drinks and herbal/floral blends. The food is good (but a bit pricey). I love the curry chicken sando! Very flavorful and healthy. Some of the options are definitely overpriced; I got a harvest bowl once which was just yogurt, fruit, and oats. The staff are very personable and fun! Street parking nearby is easy too. My biggest con is that the music can be very loud. It varies based on the day, but sometimes they're *blasting* hip-hop and rap (which are genres I enjoy!! But not at full volume in a coffee shop!). The seats are also pretty uncomfortable. I believe there is only one big table that has seats with cushion. All the other chairs are hard wood. I'm normally ok with this set-up at coffee shops, but for some reason good neighbor chairs are extra uncomfortable. Overall, I do really like this place! Especially for shorter, casual meet-ups with friends. I would not make this your regular study spot unless you plan on bringing a very good noise-cancelling headphone or a seat cushion! read more

A few weeks ago, I applied to work as a part-time barista at good neighbor while I save for grad school in the fall. The hiring manager asked me to send my availability in writing after the call, which I did, and then I was happy to receive an official job offer the next week! I love good neighbor and have stayed in their boutique hotel several times with my partner. I also live only two minutes walking away from the shop, so this seemed like the perfect fit. I accepted the offer the next morning and cancelled the other two interviews I had lined up as I waited to hear back about my start date. A few days later, I went into good neighbor to work while waiting to hear back about my start date. While there, I actually ran into the hiring manager, and they said they were considering other applicants with better availability, and would get back to me Friday 3/13. This was confusing since I'd already accepted the OFFICIAL job offer and had cancelled my other interviews. I waited and waited, I have have yet to hear back about this situation even though it's been well over a month and a half. No apologies or resolutions have been offered. No update on my "official start date" that was promised in my OFFICIAL job offer. Not anything in regards to the interviews I cancelled because of the hiring manager, Rida's, mistake. The staff has also been extremely rude to me every time I've gone in. Caroline in particular has been super rude and condescending to both myself and my partner. We've spent hundreds of dollars here between buying drinks/food and staying in their attached hotel and I will never buy anything from them again. I was going to let all of this be water under the bridge, but the hiring manager approached me TODAY asking me to leave because I had an outside drink. Conveniently, she said nothing about the inconvenience and trouble she caused me with her disorganization and lack of consideration. read more

This is my FAVORITE coffee shop!! I'm obsessed with the Scandinavian aesthetic with light wood and clean design with plants scattered about. The aesthetic of this shop is perfect. We dropped by for breakfast and we able to get a seat outside on the back deck, which was perfectly in the shade. We placed our orders, which were brought out to us with no problem. I was nervous about the mustard on the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, but it was actually a pleasant surprise. Good Neighbor is a coffee shop that I love checking out in the spring and fall. Why? Because of its incredible outdoor seating. This is some of the best seating in the city. When you enter Good Neighbor the coffee making area is in the center of the shop. To the right of the entrance is a small area that sells some cool pottery, local food items and, of course, coffee. Around the other three sides of the coffee area is varied seating. This varied seating provides space for people who are there to eat, those that just want to hang out or those who want a space to work. My order varies at Good Neighbor. In the fall they had a special spicy pumpkin vegan latte. This was really good. Other times I will just grab a cold brew with oat milk. My family has occasionally grabbed food here based on the specials we've seen posted on Instagram. We have been pleased with the soups, pastries and overnight oats that we have tried. read more

The cutest and coziest coffee shop I have been to in a while! I was looking for a spot to hang out before a 9am meeting and I'm so glad I stumbled upon good neighbor. There is only street parking, which isn't surprising given the location on Falls Rd. Once inside, the vibe is warm and welcoming. There was a pretty sizable menu that I didn't spend that much time reading through. The kitchen opens at 8am so if you're looking to grab a bite, make sure to not arrive too early (they open at 7am) or have some patience. I loved the different seating options and the books for sale. Both restrooms are also clean and accessible so thumbs up for that. The free WiFi was also very strong. My daughter was raving about this coffee shop and the Swedish fish that are so good. Ok, she was not playing about those Swedish fish. They are a candy fish from Sweden and are sour raspberry. Very pricey but fresh and worth it. My chai latte was delicious which was customized with oat milk. The Shakè toast was good. I read the menu quickly and was expecting smoked salmon but it's seared salmon and the brioche held the nice sized pieces of salmon well. I can't tell you what is on the sauce used on the toast but it paired well with everything. The place was crowded for a Sunday afternoon so there was a bit of a wait. No complaints on service which was friendly and the drinks took no time. Food orders took about ten minutes. I love the ambience of the cafe. The place is my kind of chic with books and plants placed throughout the store. There is a wall of merchandise that has odds and ends of different things.
