The café has the cutest retro 70s vibe, making it feel cozy, unique, and full of personality. The owners are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and have hearts as big as their mission to help rescue cats find loving homes. And let's talk about the coffee for a second--the Affogato with peanut butter ice cream is absolutely purr-fect. I came for the cats, stayed for the coffee, and left trying to convince myself that my fur baby, Margo Mae, is perfectly happy being an only child... at least until I can convince my boyfriend otherwise. Affogatto Cafe' - a great find on a Sunday morning. I was in the area getting fishing advice from a nearby tackle shop and happened to discover this cozy café just around the corner. They serve Black Acres beans (a favorite of mine) and some seriously good croissants. I kept it simple with a standard latte and a butter croissant. The café has window bar seating inside and a couple of outdoor tables, making it an easy, comfortable place to slow down. The barista was friendly and even shared helpful fishing spot info. The interior has a cozy, minimalist style, and with Sunday morning light, the whole place felt like a warm, relaxed place to be. From what I could tell, there's space in the back to meet and greet the cats. I'm not in the market to adopt, but for anyone who is, this seems like the place to connect with a new purring family member. Worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

Affogatto is a cat cafe in Fells Point that's been open for a while but I hadn't had a chance to visit yet, but friend and I visited last weekend and had a good time! The decor was happy surprise - 70s vibes with cats everywhere! I've been to a few cat cafes, and they're all a little bit different! Affogatto is on the smaller side. You walk into the cafe area - coffee bar and a few two-top tables (there are a couple of tables outside as well, but it's definitely not a large cafe). Then there's one other room, a small one, where the cats are. I didn't get a coffee during our visit, but my friend did (she enjoyed her latte; I found it interesting that their syrups for lattes are self-service?). Visits to the cat room are in 30-minute segments. Because the cat room is so small, you and whoever else purchased a visit for your same time slot will probably sit right down on the floor to play with the kittens. When we visited, there were about eight kittens - and they were kittens! They were playful and funny. Compared to other cat cafes, it was definitely a smaller space. They also had fewer toys to play with. But since the cats were kittens, they were pretty great at entertaining themselves and us. But if you want a more leisurely experience where you can play with and pet some kittens and adult cats, you might want to check out a larger cat cafe with more space. However, any cat cafe is likely to be great - who can complain about any chance to meet, socialize, and play with adoptable cats and kittens?! Loves itttt! I booked the 5pm time slot and it was worth it. You get about 25 mins with the cats and it's so clean and friendly in here. The cats are very sweet but make sure to respect their boundaries! I got some affogato and enjoyed the ambiance after my session. There are places for the cats to scratch on scratchers, lay around in beds, wall mounted shelves and perches for them to climb along, a running water fountain for them to drink water, and a litter box. Each time I come here, there are new kit-cats and that warms my heart... because it means the previous kitties have been adopted to good homes :) I have 2 boy cats that I left at home with my parents when I moved, and I miss them a lot. Coming here is low key therapeutic for me as I get some furs time. The yummy, caffeinated beverage selection also helps :) If you have some time, stop by. I had an absolute blast at Affogatto. I went with a friend and it was both of our first time at a cat cafe, and we were NOT disappointed. We were lucky to walk in and get time booked to see the kittens - definitely recommend booking online in advance if you can! I just had coffee but my friend was very pleased with their cold cut sandwich. It was decent sized and tasty! For one it's the place I was able to meet, apply, and ultimately after careful consideration adopt my first cat :) Their drinks are superb- each crafted with so much care, flavor, and balance. I have to say that Affogatto is one of the cutest and most well run cat cafes that we have been to. Cleary the owner of the cat cafe is putting the safety and welfare of cats first as well as providing an educational and fun place for visitors to interact with them. The appointments were organized and not overcrowded. The place is modern, trendy and comfortable. The price point of entry was affordable. I highly recommend Affogatto. read more

The coffee was great, the pastries were great (they come from Ovenbird), the staff was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable, and they let you play with kittens for $10. OMG THIS IS A CAT CAFE AND IT IS SO CUTE AHH! The cafe is tidy and well organized, with small seating and tables in the front of the cafe, and a wider space in the back accommodated with cozy lounging and a big window to oversee the kittens. You have to make a reservation to enter the space with the kittens, but nonetheless you can enjoy the adorable view from the front of the cafe. Had been hearing great things about this place and was not disappointed! The cafe part does not require an appointment, but time with the cats does. We booked our appointment online -- for now, you can only book for one person at a time ($10 for a 25-30 min session, max 6 people person session). The space is modestly sized and really clean, and there's a waiting area in the back by the cats' playroom. When we went, they were all kittens (no complaints there), and they were so adorable and playful. Ordered an affogato per namesake after playing with the kittens, and loved the honey graham flavor (they source their ice cream from a local Baltimore spot). This may be one or Baltimore's cutest coffee shops and it is fairly new. Tried their pistachio milk latte and it was creamy, nutty and delicious. The kitty cats are kept in a full enclosed area within the cafe - which keeps things sanitary. Loved the orange decor and the service was great. Will definitely return. read more

First time stopping by. The place is extremely small yet very loud because of the workers chatting. The barista was also extremely slow with finishing his orders despite there only being three customers inside. It took him 10 minutes to finish my cold brew despite it being just something you get from the fridge and pour onto ice. The taste wasn't great but now I know. I would avoid this place for coffee but definitely stop by for adopting a cat or simply hanging out with them. read more

This was such a cute cat cafe! It was my first time at this one in particular. I've been to others before in other cities. The cats were all very sweet and the ones that were awake were very playful. There is an employee in the room at all times to ensure the cats' safety and to answer any questions we have. The employee also vacuumed and cleaned the cat litter box before we went in for our sessions so it was extra clean! Baltimore definitely needed this addition and I'm so glad I went. This new cat cafe just opened up in Fells Point. The cafe is super cute and has a lot of great cat decor, cat books, and local coffee/teas. Unfortunately both times I tried to go, the cat section was unable to enter because the cats were too small to interact with humans. They also did not have a phone number so there was no way of know when the cats were available other than going in person. Very torn about posting this review. I want to give it a full 5 stars so badly. I love this cafe, so much; the styling, the coffee, the ice cream, and the accessible kitty visit prices of course! I visited when this first opened and had a wonderful time. Staff was super friendly and the owner (or perhaps it was his partner?) was a delight to talk to and very kind. I was so excited to come back when they had merch and cat visiting was open! Last week I finally was able to come back, this time bringing an out of town friend who I had spent the entire walk talking about how much I loved this place. When we arrived, immediately I felt unwelcomed by the barista. She rushed us to order, even when we were the only ones in line. When we were still thinking on what to get, she kept sighing and cutting us off when we were still discussing amongst ourselves. When I realized they had stickers (So cute!) I was so excited! I pointed to them asking if I could get 2 of them as well, to be hit back with a curt, "You need to be more specific, I can't see what you're pointing at." Not the worst thing in the world, but honestly I was just embarrassed that I spent so much time talking this place up for my friend only for it to feel so unwelcoming. We ended up leaving after getting ice cream instead of sticking around like we planned since we didn't want to be the only ones in there with her. Cute little corner spot with lots of sunlight. I got a pistachio coffee and veggie sandwich, my partner got a latte and a cold cut. The coffee's not only tasted great but were also very affordable compared to chains, the sandwiches were also a big size. The kitties were lovely, I love that they display their adoption pictures. The kittens they keep are really too little to be interesting, and there often aren't very many of them. The cat room doesn't seem booked most of the time. Such a warm, cozy vibe in this cafe. The staff were very sweet and quick with making the drinks. I got the chocolate croissant and an iced caramel latte. Both are wonderful. The croissant reminds me of ones i had in Italy. I genuinely loved this business and wanted to support them even from out of state because I thought they were doing great things for cats. Last Wednesday, I saw a Siamese cat on their website and immediately applied - my best friend has two Siamese cats, so this felt like fate. I wrote a detailed email explaining my commitment despite being out of state. I asked my boyfriend to visit after work to see the cat and let staff know how serious I was. A staff member confirmed mine was the first and only application with their first-come-first-serve system. They told him I needed to come in person before my application could be finalized and said I could come Tuesday. I tried calling 10+ times over the next days to confirm timing and ask questions. No one answered. My email went unanswered. My application received no response. So I traveled to Baltimore and arrived Tuesday with a blanket I'd bought for the cat. I came to: 1) meet the cat in person before anything is finalized (as required by their policy), 2) learn more about her since I couldn't reach them, and 3) hang out with the cat before anything finalized. Upon entering I purchased a coffee and asked about lounge availabilities. When I asked about the cat, the owner said there was already an application under review. Confused, I explained I'd traveled from NY based on what his staff told my boyfriend. I asked about the timeline and what happened since the information didn't match. He said I had "no right" to book a train when no one approved my application and I was making him uncomfortable. He also said "I don't blame you or your boyfriend or the person working here." I was confused - why would there be blame at all? He told me at 10:40 that the staff member would arrive at 11. I said I'd wait. At 10:46, he said that person actually wouldn't be coming in. Then he left while I sat for about 30 minutes before he came back and explained his friend had personally emailed him Tuesday expressing interest. My application came Wednesday. He said while the official process is the Google form, he also accepts "verbal interest from friends." Honestly - I would have understood if he'd just been honest. If he'd said, "I'm sorry, my friend expressed interest on Tuesday" - I would have gotten it. We all have friends. Instead, I was told I had no right to come and was accused of making him uncomfortable when I was simply asking for an explanation and following their own requirements. I'm not upset I didn't get the cat. I'm upset about the lack of transparency in the adoption process and being treated like I did something wrong when I was following their staff's instructions. I hope future adopters are aware of these practices before they get their hopes up and I hope the staff member who helped doesn't face consequences for being kind. read more

To play with the kittens, you need to reserve ahead of time to ensure that you have a spot (Theres only one hangout room to play with the kittens, so the amount of people has to be limited.) I've only been to one other cat cafe, and I was pleasantly surprised that the kitten room in Affogatto didn't smell AT ALL, because the previous one I went to did. Someone else in the same sign up room mentioned the same thing about how this place didn't smell compared to other ones, so I'm not the only one who thought that. I didn't try any of the drinks or pastries this time, but I'll definitely next time. read more
